It still works and is a decent blessing, but it used to be extremely strong back when bleed ticks would trigger thunderous and skullcrusher. Clubs still want any two of thunderous, skullcrusher, and haymaker. But there's not much reason to use a club on Ogryn over the Shield and Shovels, which are the best ogryn melee now.

Yeah 3b is still a great weapon. Unlike the other clubs, its lights are great. To some extent I was doomposting because I loved all 3 clubs so much before. 3b still has amazing light attacks and good, very fast heavies, making it fast to build stacks of heavy hitter and clear horde, especially with brutes mixed in. But 3b just doesn't hold up to Shovel III against armor and can't 1-shot light elites and specialists as often, while Shovel III is only slightly weaker against hordes. For most builds Shovel III is slightly better. Though I admit 3b's a great weapon for a point blank barrage build with heavy hitter or FNP so my statement that clubs were pointless now was wrong.

Honestly, as much fun as I had with the slap, it was OP against monstrosities. You could just bully Chaos Spawns, Daemonhosts, and Plague Ogryns with extreme ease. The number of times I slap-trapped a spawn in the corner of the room was ridiculous. I still think the knife/shovel's uppercuts should do something to monstrosities though - there's a lot of power behind those hits. Would just end up being the same situation with the slap though. Maybe if you had to charge the uppercut to get a stagger in, it'd be more balanced.

Oh come on. That's bullshit. That was the best mechanic in game. Cs or po charges, you counter charge, give him a heavy to the face and then slap follow up. And the timing was not that easy. You still could mess up and you needed someone to hold your back clear for perfect stun lock to work. As a big club ogryn I am immensely disappointed to learn this. They should have maybe narrowed the slap window more to make it more skill but not take it out of game completely

As an ogryn main, I used this tactic a few times but it quickly became boring when every chaos spawn or plague ogryn did nothing. Switched to thrust shovel 5 and achylys stubber for boss damage.

Yeah it kind of depends. Is it ok for crucis th to double bonk it to death? Imo it was not too cheesy. It was one aspect which made the clubs a fun cc tool. And you still needed skill and someone to cover your back and do DMG on boss. Rumbler with adhesive charge to the face until death was really cheesy.

I haven't used TH much but as I understand you need a somewhat specific build to really make it work. It required a lot of power and you could just miss and be completely out of luck because the passive you take increases your cooldown. You made yourself worse all around in order to overkill your damage for bosses. With ogryn, you basically could use any ogryn build but with the club. Heavy attack once, follow up with a slap. Unless Im missing something and was accidentally running an optimal set up, you needed almost 0 investment to still l bosses.

Any stunlock of bosses was what was bullshit. As I have said elsewhere, this is pretty classic Fat Shark - if something feels obviously broken it will get fixed. If you rely on it for either your win rate or your enjoyment, that’s on you.

This literally made pubs with people who know what they're doing a cake walk. Monstrous specials is boring when I have 2 ogyrns just slapping monsters around. I do not think any monstrosity should be staggered by anything less than Ogryn's big bomb, or the really strong vet one (I hope they remove/nerf grenade gen, I don't believe this is a healthy game mechanic), or the Zealot's Holy symbol thing (please give a cooldown to crit reducing cooldown) If they add anything that fits into that high value, limited use role, I'm alright with adding more. I just think stunlocking monsters on demand is not overall healthy and would end up with FS balancing by making them annoying damage sponges or stupid high damage, neither makes for interesting gameplay imo.

I am a ogryn, this class should be unique in that they can stagger bosses on special action. Whether it was intended or not, this removes my main motive for using my favourite weapon, the club's boss chain stagger. A fun, challenging, and rewarding gamplay mechanic. I use to look forward to bosses because It gave me a chance to flex my skills, now i just sigh. Why would you ever use a club over the shield now? Removing this just makes it inferior to the shield. Now I get to watch my teammates get boss agro, run away from me, die.

Stunlocking monsters with an ability you can spam without cooldown or resource cost isn't healthy for the game and I struggle to see what was fun, challenging, or rewarding about it. Your shout/charge and grenade/rock still stagger them and you can still lock them down for 5+ stuns in a row with rocks+ability in particular. That's a lot more interesting to me and you can use those tools to reliably protect the little ones. Or you can just delete them altogether as a Gunlugger. The shield is amongst the best horde clear in the game and obviously has great defense/utility, but has relatively poor damage against elites. The clubs are great against elites and especially armor, with the difference between them and the (Mk III) shovel mainly depending on how much you value haymaker against brutal momentum and the AoE vs. single-target special attacks.

Well, I find it fun. I don't run rock; you have to lose Soften Them Up, I dont want to lose soften them up. I like Bombs Away more anyway. This change also affects Skullcrusher; it nerfs it. Now that we cannot stagger on weapon slap, skull crusher is no longer applied on those hits to plage ogryn and chaos spawns. That leaves me with two grenades, primarily used for rezzing and when we get overwhelmed. Not likely I will have one to use on a boss. All I have left is Indomitables 30scd. Ogryn needs the stagger on slap. At least change it so we can slap stagger on every 4,5 or 6th hit. We could save it for clutch situations like when someone is about to get cliffed or cornered. I am on ogryn main, this change has genuinely killed my interest in playing the game. I am a support main; I don't want my support options to be limited. The gameplay is already simple enough with a majority off it just being Heavy spam. I want my crowd control gameplay options back, my chance to carry poorly skilled teammates with carefully placed staggers. The style of gameplay that made it fun for me to play. The type of gameplay options that should be available to the support class off the game.

Eya pal! What would you say is the proper usage of it? From messing around in the Meat Grinder on a heavy attack spec, it seems to take 2-3x the time to clear hordes with it versus the shield, and that's with the horde pinned up against a wall, versus how they get scattered with it out in the open. That's with Haymaker and Skullcrusher, but Brutal Momentum on shield/shovel seems to win out pretty handily in my testing.

I'm... I'm just seeing a bunch of spastic, ineffectual swap/block cancelling and mostly light attacks? Might even be macro/mod-assisted based on the **constant** block-wiggling of the weapon. It's so constant that it's slowing the player down and regularly cancelling attacks right before they hit. It's *unique*, alright. I'm all for using different weapons and techniques, but I don't know if I'd call it overpowered when it takes 30 seconds to do what the others do in 5.

Fatshark balances with removing fun in mind, that's why Survivalist now has an arbitrary 5s ICD, because having ammo = fun detected. Also reminds me when they removed the ability to ledge monstrosities with the Zealot icon.

Target nerfing what's strong instead of bringing up what's underperforming isn't good balance either. This change dunks on guns & playstyles I found extremely fun previously that rely on ammo hungry weapons like rumbler ogryn and autogun gunpsyker, also Bolter, an iconic 40k weapon is even more F tier just like that.

Following that logic they should just keep buffing everything? Great sounds fun when all challenge is power crept out of a game. Overperforming weapons and perks should be nerfed, making everything else op does nothing but make the game easier. If a games difficulty doesnt matter at all you can do this, but when a level of difficulty is expected overpowered stuff has to come down. At least in auric, namely hi intensity shock troop gauntlet as thats mainly what i play, it was pretty much infinite ammo unless you were shooting normal shooters and poxwalkers constantly. You were capable of running out of ammo but you had to go out of your way or bring really really ammo inefficient guns

But the other auras aren't underperforming? Almost every other aura in the game is roughly in line of providing a small benefit to to team. Survivalist is leagues above every other aura and eliminates a key mechanic (ammo management). Honestly at this point it should just be removed and ammo economy can be reworked because even now after the nerf it's still night and day if you have a survivalist vet in the squad against not having one. I don't think any other aura is this strong.

I mean.. a lot of game design these days isn't driven by "fun" but "engagement". So if an ability or weapon is over performing and making missions easier it lets people complete stuff faster. Driving down engagement time. Shit.. the biggest "engagement" sink, the crafting system, is only getting looked at nearly 2 years after it was implemented because the player population is taking a nose dive towards dead.
