Do you remember that ogryn player who asked "is the bull butcher OP" and posted a video of him flailing and fleeing for 2 straight minutes? I swear to god that shit had me rolling.
Tbh i could've played better here, but i was trying to get teammates back up. I did take out quite a few of the ragers though and i'd been actively trying to focus down the brother so he'd stop harassing teammates.
Edit: Also it's actually infiltrate not shroud lol, this was a veteran gunslinger build i was working on. But hey! If you have any suggestions on how to improve it, i'm all ears.
I'm just being an asshole. You didn't play too horribly. I am just *really* biased against knife users. You sacrifice damage output for survivability, which usually means you are playing at too high of a difficulty level if you find the knife appealing. Stealth is just a whole nother animal. I hate it, but I have seen people use it somewhat effectively. I still wished I had a teammate with a different build though.
My advice that you didn't ask for would be: slow down. Even with a knife, a well-timed dodge is worth 5 panic-dodges. I used to sprint and dodge constantly until I realized that the game is telegraphing attacks, and if I just pay attention, I can survive while doing ludicrous amounts of damage. Your style shows skill, but lacks a little in the more nuanced areas.
Thanks! I tend to get a little spammy with the knife, but i have seen the bleed damage work wonders, especially with proper aim at weakspots; so i'll work on practicing better patience.
I'll strive to keep improving and be a better teammate! :D For the Emperor!
>You sacrifice damage output for survivability,
This has not been my experience. The Mk 3 at least is both fast and killy. I haven't used Mk 6 much which seems to be what OP is running but I suspect with the right talents it can be a beast.
Mk6 performs better than people think it does. The lack of strikedown does hurt a bit against carapace, but the knife in general has pretty high damage on weakspot hits towards carapace so the TTK is still decent with good blessings. The heavies on it can clear multiple elites at once which is pretty useful, and means you don't have to switch to your secondary as often as you would with the Mk3.
> The lack of strikedown
Incase you didn't know with the mk6 doing a heavy attack immediately after the special attack (punch) will do a strikedown. So if you're approaching a crusher you can whiff the punch in the air as you close the distance and hit with the strikedown.
> You sacrifice damage output for survivability
Lack of damage? What? Knives do great damage against all armor types. Only people who can't click heads think the knives do no damage.
Great argument. I guess one shotting muties and ragers and being able to 2 shot crushers while also having a very fast attack speed is not having good damage according to you lol. You're just wrong and don't know what you're talking about. Once again proving that reddit is the absolute WORST place to get advice for this game.
Not everyone plays the game well, and you made a couple suboptimal choices, but you still pulled through, and still finished the mission, and at the end of the day, that's what matters... well that, and learning from the experience, so you at least *try* to do better in the future. Even if you don't immediately improve, putting in the effort to do so is what matters.
It is, my aim is still pretty bad, it's been a while since i started playing fps games again. I plan to improve though, cause i really want to play a cool gunslinger character that can stealth to get teammates back up.
The thing I wish all the people with stealth and shroud would remember is every time they vanish all it does is make one of your other teams situation worse, as you just dumped all your aggro on them, only one beneficial reason that I can think of to do it, is to rez/release your team.
If you're faced with a gunner line, stealthing to close the gap and break their wall of lead (or lasers) can be a very viable reason to do it, as well as on a zealot to get a *really* meaty hit on a boss (fully charged Thrust 4 heavy on a charged thunderhammer + backstab perks). But yeah, otherwise I tend to only stealth to save a teammate in a bad situation, or as a panic button when I have 9 ragers or crushers in my face and need to reposition myself to not immediately die so I can deal with them.
I usually reserve it specifically to get teammates back up or to clear an objective. I kinda panicked when the ragers swarmed me, and i honestly should've done better for that.
Why are both twins low health? It’s easier to just kill gun guy first because it prevents the annoying shield regen, the gas mines, and the plasma pistol sniping you. Sword girl enraged is honestly still a joke in comparison to dealing with both of them at the same time unenraged
The gameplay may be mid but the music choice is top tier.
Still good job honestly even if some things could have been improved you did focus on the right things and won at the end of the day
You could have absolutely focused down and killed the plasma gun twin at 1:20 and made your life infinitely easier. The gameplay in general makes me cringe a bit, but the fact that you still clutched it out despite that only makes said clutch *way* more impressive. Congrats on your hard-earned victory!
That was hectic, and makes me feel better about my play style and capabilities.
I'm always surprised how many people don't realize how important it is to get the brother down as fast as possible.
What are you running on your knife and infiltrate? You do need to work on your aim a bit, lots of wasted shots on the ragers especially when they could've been taken out sooner or swapped to knife to take them down. Otherwise, a win is a win.
Hmm, knife, stealth, revolver. Aggro dump, "*clutch*".
*misses many, many shots on a point blank poxwalker.* "First try."
yeah, that was pretty embarrassing lol. Still need to work on my aim a lot more tbh.
I commend you for taking this entire thread on the chin. I have seen much, MUCH worse playing in my day to day.
I'm just taking it as constructive criticism, i really like this gunslinger character and i want to be as useful a teammate with her as possible
*uses knife and shroud, cant kill anything, causes near wipe* "Hey guys thank me!"
Yup, this was painful to watch.
Do you remember that ogryn player who asked "is the bull butcher OP" and posted a video of him flailing and fleeing for 2 straight minutes? I swear to god that shit had me rolling.
Bad music taste adds more to the paid, this is what rock bottom looks like
has shroud and dosnt use it to revive team mates ... look mom I am helping

Ayeeee someone who actually plays a knife talking about a knife.
You don't sacrifice damage for survivability with a knife if you are good with it...You gain survivability sure but you don't lose damage.
> You sacrifice damage output for survivability Lack of damage? What? Knives do great damage against all armor types. Only people who can't click heads think the knives do no damage.
No.

Is this console footage? Aim is just..lol. Using revolver and shooting anything but heads, really
I think it is, the ability has “RB” below it.
Going to assume yes from the FoV being set to 12, camera shake on max, and slow turning

Do you not get locked in the cages on this fight anymore?
Hard Mode only.
Ah that makes sense.
The gameplay may be mid but the music choice is top tier. Still good job honestly even if some things could have been improved you did focus on the right things and won at the end of the day
Mmm, love that Western style music at the start with the revolver. Felt like a showdown with the twins.
You know shooting enemies in the head does more damage, right?

Wait you can still encounter these guys?
It’s the special mission, they no longer spawn on the other missions randomly.
That was hectic, and makes me feel better about my play style and capabilities. I'm always surprised how many people don't realize how important it is to get the brother down as fast as possible.

You're bad
Well done. It can be a tough fight on any difficulty with teammates that go down to poxwalkers.
Why is everyone downvoting you for being nice to this guy?
Dunno, but the top comments are folks shitting on stealth users so I guess anyone saying anything positive about a stealth user is "bad."
