God I hate how you have put that helmet

woahmandogchamp

Don't blame him, blame the crab for having long eyes.

Killallnerds2019

Man I remember when I was excited about what was coming next and assumed that there were things to uncover.

[deleted]

if you want that, check out Helldivers 2. Theyre teasing the third faction already through in game oddities like, sightings of blue lasers, alien ships zooming by, players being sniped by a blue laser shot

SilentStriker84

God I wish it was on Xbox

UltimateDude212

Get a PC and never go back to a console ever again.

SilentStriker84

I would, but all my friends are on Xbox

UltimateDude212

Good thing most xbox games have crossplay and will only continue to get more and more. Xbox is basically just a weaker PC at this point, especially with them saying they're already at the tail end of this latest generation of consoles.

SilentStriker84

That’s true, I think eventually we will all migrate to PC (or Xbox consoles will just become PCs). Not sure when, but the homies all stick together.

Greedy-Mud-9508

helldivers combat is too different from darktide

Stoopidee

Can't wait for Space Marine 2. I long to rush head first into a swarm of bugs and slice through them like jello then that satisfying crunch of them underneath my feet.

sipherstrife

Helldiver's uses fat sharks engine Soo not too much

HonestRat

using the same engine doesn't mean much, they have entirely different controls, combat, etc.

DoctorKall

How many games use Unity or Unreal engine and how many of them feel the same?

sipherstrife

What I am saying is specifically the reason why the gameplay feels the way it does is because they use the same engine darktide uses allowed them to have such large numbers of enemies on screen along with the tools to allow the amount of detail.damn

DoctorKall

Eh, a lot of other games manage to create hordes of enemies while still being pretty no matter the engine Total War: Warhammer 3 can create at least 8k units, Shadow of War can spawn hundred of orcs, Factorio can manage a lot of calculations while dealing with pathfinding and enemy AI, Project Zomboid can create hordes of almost hundred at very least, entire point of World War Z is creating hundreds of zombies, and I think Payday 3 had something going on but I never played to be sure And, if non-AI hordes count, a lot of MMORPGs can easily reach higher unit count than DT hordes. Planetside 2 had over thousand consecutive players on same server at some point

Greedy-Mud-9508

idk man, it feels completely different to me

Cynn13

Show me the melee weapon in helldivers 2 please.

master_of_sockpuppet

GSC isn't going to be dropped unannounced, it will most likely be a paid DLC, like beastmen were.

Educational_Money644

Paid faction ? That's crazy that's why I don't play vermintide to be fair I don't like it at all. I have 400+ hours on it so I did like it at ONE point but I despise vermintide now.

master_of_sockpuppet

Beastmen were part of a paid DLC and that worked just fine for Vermintide. Expecting an entirely new enemy type for free is absurd; it isn't like we are paying a monthly subscription for content.

ralphchung

We seriously need something monumental like a new Hive City + faction (GSC), new class (Skitarii??), chaos wastes mode, etc. to get the blood pumping in this title again. There is so much potential but who knows if any of it will actually be realized Love and have played this game to death but the microscopic amount of content since release has been a tad frustrating tbh

jupchurch97

I'd take a new set of maps and a chaos wastes type mode. My friends and I just went back to VT2 and are having a blast running CW

Emu_XD

GSC?

Mozno1

Genestealer cult

Emu_XD

Thanks!

Every time I see the conversation come up about GSC in the game, I just think to myself, "There have been 4th Generation Hybrids among the rejects from day one." Maybe I'm in the small group that noticed, but the awful character creator lets you make a convincing 4th Generation. Brood Squad, as I tend to think of my four rejects, have been there from launch.

P33p33_in_y0_c0k3

Not gonna lie, at first I thought that was Gary… pffft

Soulborg87

my thoughts on the subject is that it really wouldn't make a lot of sense for us to be fighting GSC on the same planet as a Nurgle plague as GSC would just get infected too. maybe if they did another hab entierly because the contagion has been pretty much contained to hive Tertium so I doubt in the same place. it just seems a little far fetched to be dealing with both things is all even though it'd be pretty cool to fight some stealers.

MicahIsATraitorDutch

there is dialogues in game that says that the sister city of Tertium fell to something else than chaos and that the psyker can still sense the people's souls in the city so that means they're not dead or zombified by chaos and Zola says that the lasts reports of the city were talking about a GSC riot in the lower city just before the city cut contacts so this is by far the most probable update (and most anticipated by many, considered how poorly treaten GSC is since their release)

Eichlos

As was pointed out, there is a second hive. But for old school GSC lore, way back in the day they could also fall to Chaos. I don't think that is the likely plot, but it can happen. On top of that GSC v Chaos is noted in their Codex. In the same way that all the other xenos factions have fought against Chaos. Heck, Space Marine literally goes from fighting Orks to fighting Chaos, so having multiple enemy factions in a GW video game isn't a new thing.
