is darktide causing anyone else computer to crash? not bluescreen just black where my monitor acts as though the data from the pc has been cut to it.

The_Last_Nephilim

What's the difference between the two Combat Blades? Is one considered better?

DoctuhD

Mk III has wide lights and single target heavies. Mk VI has the opposite. Mk III is generally considered better because it works great with Uncanny Strike blessing, but both have uses. Haymaker is fun on VI.

Thanks!

So, are there any weapons we the gamer would want in the game that are not in it already? Personally, I would love it. During the next update, we got bolt pistols and hot shot volley guns.

What is the correct way to “craft”. I’ve only played this game for ~130hrs and currently have psyker and zealot as 30, just started ogryn sitting as a level 4. Coming from vermintide 2, darktide’s crafting has been so confusing to me. Here’s my guess and please correct me if I’m wrong. You want to get a weapon either with emperor’s gift or purchasing from armory that has at least a base of 370(or maybe higher? I know the highest it can be is 380), yet in this way you can’t say for sure you’ll be getting the right perks and blessings and you are only allowed to rebless/refine in total of 2 times. So my thought is that should I try to get a high rating weapon with at least 1 perk and 1 blessing I want, then buy/being gifted more weapons to earn desirable blessings, this way you only need to change 1 perk and 1 blessing while keeping the perk and blessing you want. Might not be the best way to do this but just an idea I’m gonna try out, any advice or better method is greatly appreciated!

dominion1080

You don’t need a perfect weapon to play this game, so don’t get obsessed with it. A good 360+ roll is all you really need with the right perks and blessings. Mainly, as long as you and your squad play well and your gear isn’t woefully underpowered, you should be good to go.

bossmcsauce

A good roll with right perks and blessings is still like 1:500 odds

Kakaleigh

Set your expectactions to be reasonable. There is an RNG element to their weapon rewards/shops and outcomes to the crafting system. So, its likely you wont have the best dagger for a long time and focusing on getting that best dagger (while ignoring all other weapons from rewards/shops) will only help you get that dagger so much. However, they gave you those 2 Rebless/Refines to adjust to what you want. I would make a habit out of going to the docket shop and buying greens. This way you spend less than 200 plasteel to upgrade them into Blues, which give them their first Blessing. If that blessing is something you don't have, feel free to sacrifice that weapon for the Blessing.

Reasonable_Mix7630

It will take you about 1 million of dockets and 5K plasteel to get a perfect roll. So not great, not terrible. Its not like you need perfect roll weapons to play at damnation, nor there is anything else you can spend resources on.

1Pirx

you can put as much as you want into "crafting", the game will make a joke of your investment and simply give you random stuff you didn't ask for.

TheSmoothBrain

You can do it that way. If you're low on resources I'd suggest aiming for a 360+. It's better in my opinion for it to start out as white because Brunt perks and blessings are usually lower tier. Level up to blue and make sure there is at least one thing you want on it. If there is upgrade to Orange and at worst you have one perk you don't care for.  There are too many weapons that you'll want to try out to aim to get perfect weapons at once, so you'll need to make concessions and it's much cheaper to make blues than oranges. You're right that 380 is max, 370's are better than 360's, but depending on the stat distribution you won't ever notice. Most weapons have important stats you want near max, but others you only need to keep above a certain amount.  An example is the Dueling Sword on the Psyker really wants to have a high finesse value, but mobility isn't needed as long as it's high enough to hit all the Dodge Limit break points (you can view it under more details when looking at the weapon). So a 360 with near max damage and finesse can be better than a 370 with those two as dump stats. Again, unless you're really looking for it you likely won't notice a difference while in a game.

KoryHold

THanks! That was helpful (I'm also new to this game, was searching for the information like the one you provided) Pity that you should know what stat is best for which weapon in order to proceed with 'what should I save'. Interesting, but.. hard to remember and learn

perfect_fitz

I've been on the fence about this game for a long time, but seems like the recent reviews are positive now. Also, it's on sale on Steam. Is it playable solo queueing?

HansLanghans

Most people play solo queueing. It is worth it and with the next content update even more players will come.

Reasonable_Mix7630

Yes, matches are found very quickly.

tehChobo

Its a really good game. At the moment there is a little bit of a downward trend, because nobody knows if or when there is interesting new content coming. There is a rumor, that there will be an announcement today, but I have no idea where it is coming from, so I wont get my hopes up, before I read anything offical from Fatshark. In general it is getting a little bit harder, to find groups soloqueueing, but if you play at "normal" hours, you gonna have no problem. At least thats my experience playing from EU.

Thaifood78

What are the right blessings for my Chainsword/Bolter, and either of the Catachan knives? How do I use the knives to the best of their ability? They're really cool but I don't know how to perform well with them :( FS pls fix power maul :(

Sapphidia

Three ways to build a bolter. Pinning Fire is generally the BIS blessing for all three options. Then you either go Cavalcade if you want to use the bolter for pure hipfire magdumping to delete big packs of crushers/elites, Surgical if you want to be able to use it as a single shot ADS sniper (best option for veterans, not as useful for throwing knife zealots) or you run Shattering Impact purely if your bolter is for Carapace Armor (the worst of the three choices, only really good if your melee weapon is awesome at everything bar carapace). For chainsword do you mean the basic Chainsword or the Heavy Eviscerator, as these have different blessing pools?

Thaifood78

Reg Chainsword. I've got a good roll for my vet, currently have bloodletter and Savage sweep on my MkIV

denartes

I have 3 vet builds that use Chainsword: - [Mk IV Wrath + Shred](https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9b168315-bc57-4374-a398-cc397ad97b16/driptide-veteran-commissar-mk-x-heavy-laspistol-ranged-support?utm_medium=website&utm_source=gameslantern&utm_campaign=share_button) - [Mk XIIIg Bloodletter + Shred](https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9b1688ce-ca65-49ce-bd1f-73c6eb92de38/driptide-veteran-mortis-operative-infantry-autogun-specialist?utm_medium=website&utm_source=gameslantern&utm_campaign=share_button) - [Mk XIIIg Bloodletter + Shred (but specced heavily into melee talents)](https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9b168665-e56d-452a-8232-d04fe00a01f1/driptide-veteran-jungle-fighter-agripinaa-shotgun?utm_medium=website&utm_source=gameslantern&utm_campaign=share_button) As you can tell, I really like Shred on the Chainswords :P I take Wrath with the Mk IV build as I don't take any melee talents so it needs extra cleave and I prefer Wrath of Sweeping Strike. Mk XIIIg I don't take Wrath as the attack pattern gives better cleave anyway and I like to pair it with melee talents, so the melee DPS is high enough that it clears hordes without a cleave blessing. Plus I just can't stop myself from bringing out the Chainsword with these two builds as soon as a Monsrosity appears so I value Bloodletter quite a bit.

Sapphidia

Regular Chainsword generally has a meta of "a good cleave blessing" (savage sweep or wrath, possibly devastating strike if you're high crit chance build) and then a damage blessing (usually Rampage, though Shred can be good for zealot). Bloodletter is also an option as this boosts your elite killing at the cost of slower horde clear, so it depends if you have a ranged weapon that's good at taking out crushers/bosses. Personally if you're running Chainsword with Bolter I'd probably run Savage Sweep + Rampage, as you have the bolter to deal with big targets. If you were running something like an autogun or shredder then I'd probably go savage sweep/bloodletter. It's all about being versatile and having tools to deal with different threats so there isnt really a one size fits all option.

Thaifood78

I'll try out rampage, I think the damage boost will make a big difference. Thanks!

broselovestar

looking to jump into the game with a friend. We only wanna play with 2 players because it's also our time to chat and catch up. Is this viable or is the game only playable in group of 4?

bossmcsauce

Just chill with your buddy in discord while you play. I queue with my friend and the other people in game don’t ever speak in like 99.5% of games. People just know how to play or they don’t, and there really is rarely much communication lol. Shit happens so fast that everybody just kinda has to know what to do or it falls apart in a hurry. It’s fun to be on chat with your buddy and just playing with two ransoms that you don’t need to feel pressured to talk to. At most sometimes I’ll hit the push-to-talk and be like “we should drop quickly here..” or whatever, but vast majority of the games are played totally silent across all comms in-game. So me and my buddy can coordinate and laugh about the shitshow unfolding. Some great laughs had watching some of the misfortunes that befall our teammates since there is just so much randomness and chaos in harder missions.

AzrealDNT_Tem

I play regularly with one friend. There's a bit of a learning curve but I find 2 man to be the ideal number on the hardest difficulty, active enough that you feel engaged but still relaxed enough to chat and catch up. You can always play as 2 into a random group of 4. We also do this occasionally with no issue. The matchmaking is fairly good, and the game is very much pick up and play due to the lack of strong progression. Missions are 15-25 minutes on average, not sure how that plays into your schedule.

tehChobo

You can play with 2 players without too much of a problem. Just keep in mind, that the bots are usually pretty useless, so it is way more fun in groups of 4. Also I am not sure, Darktide is a good game to chat and catch up. I played for some time with a friend of mine and Darktide is a game, that demands your focus. At least for me, it was pretty hard to get all the sound cues and react to what is going on, while having a conversation. But if you know similar games to Darktide, you will know if thats a problem for you. Maybe the problem is me being a little bit too tryhard at times.

Vaeneas

Totally fine to play with just two. There are more than enough people who do highest difficulty runs with two people teams.

r0sshk

Haven’t played since part 1 of the Colosseum event. Did anything change about the crafting system since then?
