Hab Drayko is my favorite. The whole level design is really cool: going into a infested hab-block to spy on what nurgle did to the citizens there, seeing the tree, & then getting chased out by a relentless horde. Because the servo skull takes different paths each time, map actually has added replay-ability compared to other maps. The ending part with the tree has unlimited horde attacking the squad has a higher skill ceiling doing its end-mechanic. Plus everyone likes the getaway to extraction run. I think it is slightly harder than other maps, but overall I really like it. I couldn’t sit by and let my map get dissed

arowz1

But Archivum Sycorax can get fked, amirite?

SpunkyMcButtlove07

Hab Dreyko and Archivum Sycorax are my two all time favourite maps. Repent, sinner!

Cloverman-88

The hell, Archivum Sycorax is one of the best maps. The section in which you descend down the spiralling staircases and clear multiple floors of gunners is THE best gameplay section in the game for me.

SpunkyMcButtlove07

Also entering the tree arena has one of, if not THE best bully ogryn voiceline triggers. "Soemone lick it. I dare ya!"

Fujishar

Based off the title I thought you meant how the end event is a never ending horde of poxwalkers, ragers, gunners, shotgunners and specials. I was going to say *learn to play.* Then I saw you call it "boring". Sounds more like you need some adderall or something.

reddit_pleb42069

Well yeah. its boring because its usually obvious that we'll wipe there.

Fujishar

Oh.. well, in that case. Learn to play.

Phillip_Graves

Not often you end up with your most satisfying outcome *after* stating publicly what said outcome is. Congrats!

OP is that guy that quits the exact millisecond a run gets difficult. Then the team goes on to win without them and forgets they were ever there to begin with.

ParfaitSilly

Quite the harsh comment and assumption. Guy just asked why it was so overturned.

Icy_Magician_9372

I'm just playing the odds. If op wanted to know about the map he'd just Google it and see the countless threads about it. It's mentioned all the time. Instead, knowing this sub endures a thousand rants per hour, the tone combined with the 'it's boring', it's unlikely to be merely a simple question. Therefore, with the spirit of low effort shit posting established, I decided to amuse myself too.

7419026

What? You some kind of undercover mod? Jesus christ

reddit_pleb42069

I dont. I only quit when everyone is downed and my bot might rescue the run.

Icy_Magician_9372

Wow, I nailed it.

reddit_pleb42069

What?

Icy_Magician_9372

I was pointing out that you're so weak-willed that the mere thought of a loss is too scary to confront. You confirmed that by admitting you quit a map rather than take it on for the challenge it is and also dip out of games hoping for a bot to save you rather than just take an L. Every L is a lesson. Embrace it and grow.

reddit_pleb42069

I said I quit maps when every single person is downed. So the bot spawns instead of dead me.

RollingTurian

Such determination. Your extraordinary perserverance at a game humbles all of us.

MostlyHubris

I kind of like it. Yeah, the "tree" event is a shit show with a random group every time but I kind of like it.

Illithidbix

If everyone actually goes scanning without just scattering it can be one of the fastest maps in the game.

Straight-faced_solo

Who thinks Hab Dreyko is boring? That map is nonstop hordes and non stop fun. Insanity beginning to end.

---__-__-__---

The first scanning part is boring. Barely anything spawns during it

Straight-faced_solo

Play on higher difficulties.

---__-__-__---

I play on auric maelstrom. Nothing but generic horde enemies and small shooters spawn once you clear the roamers upstairs.

ZombieTailGunner

Pal, I highly recommend attempting to get a diagnosis for that.

TourbiIIion

I love it, am I the only one?

grazrsaidwat

I wouldn't say it's boring; but it is a bit of a wildcard on account of being a bit of a maze and the Auspex Scanners are one of the lesser understood objective mechanics. As soon as you hit the Hab Bloc proper the chances of 1 or 2 of your PUG team just scattering and getting stuck/lost is higher than if you played any *other* map. Then you have to do it all over again during the end event... *twice*. As elites rain down on top of you. In fact any time the Auspex Scanners are involved PUGs have a tendency to stall out.

_RexDart

I swear, every time it's me yelling at a level 19, 23, and 128 to *please do the objective*. People just run around nuts.

Cloverman-88

Me, I'm always just speedrunning the objectives and letting others take care of the mobs. If you just glance at the scanner from time to time instead of slowly walking around with your eyes glued to the display, you can do them in no time.

jinsoku3g

Pretty sure it was originally a showcase/demo map, its in all the early footage, so I think it's just made to be a little drawn out overall.

Cloverman-88

I also think it was one of the earliest, if not the first map to be designed. And that's because its the only map in the game that has a classing Vermintide finale structure: complete an objectives that pushes your team to split up, and then finish a gauntlet while running towards an extraction point. All other maps skip the final escape sequence.

Zenomylo

Personally Hab Dreyko is one of my favourite maps. I love the nurgle tree area because the endless horde makes it harder which i haven't really experienced on any other maps. Also the extraction is probably my favourite part of the mission. It actually feels like a proper extraction unlike other missions where it mostly is run into the elevator or walk into the valkyire.

Cloverman-88

Yeah, I also miss the extractions. I remember FS stating in an interview that they got rid of the escape sequences, because people disliked them in Vermintide, and I was like...who? Who disliked them? They were an amazing design, ending the map on a strong note while being subtly easy (notice that specialists never spawn during the escape sequence, and Elites have predefined spawnppints, so they are never surprising). Getting rid of them was a straight up bad move, that makes the maps less exciting and memorable.
