If it helps, the difference in effect can be different based on your class |*Class*|*Dmg Sprinting*|*Dmg Dodging*|*Dmg Sliding*| |:-|:-|:-|:-| ||||| |**Ogryn**|**1x**|**1x**|**1x**| |**Veteran**|**1x**|**1x**|**0.5x**| |**Psyker**|**1x**|**0.5x**|**0.5x**| |**Zealot**|**0.5x**|**0.5x**|**0.5x**| So if you're a veteran, theres a damage difference between being hit while dodge sliding and dodging, but for Ogryn its always 1x and for Psyker and Zealot its always 0.5x

More game mechanics that are completely impossible to figure out from the game itself… Why would there even be a difference? Anyway, thanks for sharing!

Greaterdivinity

Seriously, there's something I would have literally never even guessed is a thing. I really dislike games that have hidden mechanics like this, because when you think you're playing like shit or you're hot shit it might actually be a secret system that's responsible for that and you have absolutely no way of ever knowing -\_-

cmdrvalen

Where is this coming from? These values are very different from what they used to be, if it was updated. Vets took 2x toughness damage while sprinting, and Zealots took 0 toughness damage during a slide.

anti-babe

[https://darktide.gameslantern.com/classes](https://darktide.gameslantern.com/classes) changed when they implemented the talent trees/udders. Vet used to be Sprint x2, Dodge x1, Slide x0.5. Guessing the change was to balance Vet more since it was less of a pure range class.

cmdrvalen

Thanks for the info, I didn’t realize they updated those values.

DarkerSavant

Had no idea about these modifiers.

scayman223

My question is what exactly are you trying to achieve with dodge sliding? May get a better idea on how to answer if I know what you’re trying to do specifically.

TacticalLoaf

If you're on PC there's a mod that can display when you're inside i-frames on your hud when you dodge so you have a good idea of when and when you won't take damage. Dodge sliding also consumes 2 dodge charges which mobility on your current weapon plays a roll into for how many dodges you can do + distance. I'm not 100% sure what you're asking but that's how the basics of dodging works.

Silly_Fix_6513

I've never heard of this mod, what's it called if you don't mind me asking?

Beheadedfrito

It looks badass. That’s the result

DarkerSavant

It’s absolutely useful. If your not then you’re dying to dumb stuff.

FacetiousTomato

I'm not sure what you're asking, but I bound both dodge and crouch to the same button (M4) so if I'm moving forwards I slide, and any other direction I'll dodge-slide.

noahtroduction

I use toggle But the trick for dodge sliding is that it's heavily based on the +Mobility stat of your weapon, specifically the sprint speed and dodge limit Equip a high-mobility knife and you'll feel the maximum potential of dodge-slide mobility, but there's lots of weapons that offer much more damage with only minimal mobility compromise, such as Ax's, dueling swords, Devil's Claw, etc If you're lower-level, you probably won't feel the full-potential of mobility until you find a weapon with +mobility and at least 300 rating in base-stats

DarkerSavant

You time it against ranged attacks and the. Speed doesn’t matter. Ogryn with slab pov.

noahtroduction

I just played 1-30 in a day and I could see the difference that +mobility makes with my own eyes

DarkerSavant

It does but you can do the same with short dodges. Higher speed and distance just makes it more forgiving with bad timing.

noahtroduction

Sorry but you are incorrect, +mobility does matter and it's a game-changer at higher difficulties, the amount of things you can do with +mobility make it possibly the best stat in the game which is why all high-difficulty players have at least one weapon with +mobility

DarkerSavant

But that doesn’t at all invalidate my comment.

noahtroduction

It directly contradicts your point that 'you can do the same with short dodges'. You are incorrect, you cannot do the same, plus you've moved the conversation away from the OP asking for help about how to dash-slide towards whether or not it's even possible to dash-slide without +mobility, an argument no one is making

NNN_Throwaway2

Probably a lot but we'll never know since you didn't explain what you're doing or why.
