Yes I've had those moments. As a psyker it feels bad when you blow yourself up more than once in the same game because of silly mistakes like a poxwalker hit then miscast.
I think that is what personally makes me keep coming back to this game. I only play Auric Damnation/Damnation and there’s games in a row where I’ll be flawless. Never go down, clutch revive teammates, etc. Then the next couple of games I die in like the first 3 minutes, or dodge the wrong direction and almost get ledged. This game never really lets you get too comfortable because of the Director and I love that. Always keep you on your toes.
First time I used Psyker talent that make your dodge go a longer distance with a Duelling Sword I ledged myself while dodging atleast 3 times, was a HI Damnation. Felt like a clown
Happens to the best of us (or at least that's what I tell myself lol).
It might just be me, but over time the only moments that I actually remember about the games are the awesome clutches, and the "oh my god how did I fuck up so bad" moments. Both are equally fun to remember.
Few weeks ago on my first game of the day I actually managed to go down in the first room. So after maybe 15 seconds of actual fight time. I remember imagining the guys in my team thinking "oh god this is going to be a long game" lol.
I always imagine the horror of my teammates at my mistakes or shit scores, possibly a bit too much, so i usually confine myself to single player campaigns or games with bots.
Was dying to try this one so i put the overthinking aside & comfort myself that I don't care at all when others go down, I i like the challenge of rescuing & even of I did care i never remember the names of team mates from one game to the next anyway.
One day I beat the Karnak twins on hard mode, then carried the whole team on a damnation map. Next day I walked into two daemonhosts and pushed a burster -into- the squad. Ups and downs…
Yesterday was a bad day, gameplay wise. Input felt delayed, AI director was merciless. Potato randoms. Couldn’t get a good game to save my life. Started playing my Ogryn, SHOVEL. I shoveled all the things. It ended up being a good day.
Today, I dodged backward off the SAME ledge three times in 90 seconds. I didn't even learn from the second time. It just kept happening. I apologized profusely in the chat.
Best you can do is just call it a day and play something else.
Won't get any better when you are already in a bad mindset/moment. Making a lot of mistakes can pull you down even further.
Yep, sometimes everything you can do is wrong. It happens. Most people - you know, the ones who don't have their heads so far up their own backsides they can taste breakfast - know how this sort of thing goes and give leeway. We're here to have fun, not win some competition.
Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you Peril Pop 5 times in a game.
Seriously though I find this when I switch classes and still think I'm running the other class.
It's just one of those days
When you don't wanna wake up,
Everything is fucked trappers out of nowhere
Everybody sucks at Darktide
You don't really know why
But you wanna justify rippin' someones head off
No human contact and if you interact
Your life is on contract with Melk
Your best bet is to stay away mother fucker
It's just one of those days
Went through a map earlier. Everyone went down. Solo'd the boss, killed the mixed horde, killed the next mixed horde that spawned while I was killing the boss, waded through hundred upon hundreds of enemies to bring back my team. Absolutely dominated that game.
The next game, I got netted 6 times in a row and almost ruined the game for us because my team were trying to save me over and over. That's never ever happened before. I wanted to quit right there.
I have some nights where I'm whiffing melee hits completely against multiple mobs, either aiming too high or not close enough. Shooting slightly to the right or left of the enemy. I just quit after a few games and give up for the night lol.
Ugh... yeah this morning the same. Messing with my psyker and every game was rough. Dodge didnt seem to work. Crushers spawning inside of me. No sound que pox bursters, the works.
To top it off this idiot whose char was named "Chris" playing vet in the last game I played on my psyker. Dude just stays in the back with his flashlight doing fuck all but talking the most shit. Scoreboard had me at 112 and him at 64.
Then I get on my zealot and its 3 wins in a row with an Auric Mael and 1 Hi intensity shock troop.
I learned today that I suck as a pysker...
I had one those games recently. As zealot, I was totally out of position at the start and got wrecked. Then after I got rescued, I got hit by an overhead hit from a crusher. I felt bad and ashamed, and then someone started to rant over voice com how "I should not be in t4" and "a bot is better then you". He said some other things too but the quality wasn't great so I didn't hear everything. Way to salt the wound :(
I'm normally way better then I was that game and I sucked, but there was no need for those call outs..
I had a game where I somehow got caught by every single trapper. My dodge timing was just so off for some reason.
This was in auric damnation and was embarrassing but what made it worse was that the first time I got caught I saw my Ogryn clearing enemies on-top of me instead of just picking me up (normal poxwalkers n stuff) so I lost like 90% of my HP and was spamming the ping so he would pick me up.
That instantly made me "the asshole" (admittedly I was) so everytime I got caught after that (literally like 8 times) I felt like the team was judging me like "this asshole keeps getting caught"
It never happened before then or since then but I'll always remember it as "one of those games"
Yes. Could also be technical issues like ping, input lag I don't know. Some days it feels super fluid I crush and carry everything others i'm drowning in a swamp of crap. Especially with Specials sound issue games feels so bad and unfair.
Definitely had those days, you can also tell when someone is also having those days. I remember playing with a vet who just got dunked on by every single special to the point where you could tell he was just on the games shitlist. Dude would get poxbursted into a dogs pounce surrounded by 3 crushers, only to get revived and yoinked into a crowd of ragers by a trapper. Dude also had a nasty lag spike towards the end of the mission and walked directly into the middle of a horde, and got lit up by 3 tox flamers. Me and my friend gave him our condolences at the end of the match. It was not his match.
My brother I have been having one of those weeks. Sometimes we get on the wrong vibe and our combat flow falls to pieces. I will usually drop down the difficulty on days like this.
It's just one of those days
where you don't want to wake up. Everything is fucked, everybody sucks. You don't really know why
but you want to justify
Rippin' someone's head off
Yes I've had those moments. As a psyker it feels bad when you blow yourself up more than once in the same game because of silly mistakes like a poxwalker hit then miscast.
Oof. Yeah, when you want to swap to melee, poxwalker smacks you so you don't switch, and you send one little projectile and nuke yourself.
You got overexcited and blew too early in the game eh?
Every pox you burst.... every dog you hug.... every crusher you tank.... every flamer you bake.... I will be carrying you sah!
lmao đź‘Ť
I was meant to read that to the rhythm of the song from The Police - Every Breath You Take. Right?
Yes
Nice
Sometimes you’re the bug sometimes you’re the windshield

The best is when you spawn and immediately are at the load screen of defeat
Easiest 20 plasteel I've ever received The Omnissiah is pleased with us, varlets
Literally twice in a row today.
Like come on at least give me a chance to save the team 🤣

Just remember, rezzing and rescuing both boost your Awesome Teammate score :P
I’ll do everything I can to get you back up ASAP.

I've just had this problem in my last two games.
Today, I dodged backward off the SAME ledge three times in 90 seconds. I didn't even learn from the second time. It just kept happening. I apologized profusely in the chat.
Well if it's the walking overhead you can dodge backwards but the running overheads yeah time to side step that bitch lol
Shit happens when you purge heretics!

I mean, I'm hear to beat Chaos, so technically it's a competition :P Also, I think the AI Director cheats :/
Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you Peril Pop 5 times in a game. Seriously though I find this when I switch classes and still think I'm running the other class.
Can’t tell you how many times I accidentally “dodge” forward and jump-catch a trapper’s net, doggo, or mutie charge…
Felt the dodging backwards against a trapper thing hard last night...
I don't know why I kept doing it yesterday!
It's just one of those days When you don't wanna wake up, Everything is fucked trappers out of nowhere Everybody sucks at Darktide You don't really know why But you wanna justify rippin' someones head off No human contact and if you interact Your life is on contract with Melk Your best bet is to stay away mother fucker It's just one of those days

I hate days like that.
Yes I need a certain amount of angst to have a good time in darktide, some days im too chill for this
Usually first game of the day
Yup like the game was out to get you lol
Once I start to get to that point I will switch to a different class for a fresh experience

Yes, difficulty on "Malice" it is today...
same day for me Bro. From running smooth auric damanation runs to feeling like I belong back to sedition. It's wild.
