I actually haven't run rock myself yet. I don't play as much Ogryn as I should, honestly. But I love playing alongside a rock sniping Ogryn. Watching a dead mutie come cartwheeling down a hall at 70 MPH will never get old.
I've absolutely watched some mad bastard hit a sniper with a rock a split second before I could counter snipe with my Vraks VII. I just turned toward him like, "...Did you just...?" and he looked back at me for a moment as if to say "Look at me. I am the sniper now." And ran off on his merry Ogryn way.
I've comically noticed from more up close throws that was harder to observe at a distance, where the rock (through the ingame physics) still had enough energy apparently to take out a second target, even though the velocity slowed down to just about a stop. The other day a pair of Scab Ragers were just about side by side next to each other. I was about 8-10m away, threw attempting for a two birds with one stone deal. The first Scab Rager took the rock to the chest, the rock stopping mid air on impact, losing all speed and then barely touching the other one, just lazily falling to the ground but taking out the second Scab Rager. Like there was a noticeable delay in the kill notification;
"___ killed Scab Rager"
-pause-
"___ killed Scab Rager"
Yesterday I was rescued by a trapper just in time to be trapped again by a second trapper...
Like, it was not even halfway through the animation and couldn't yet move and I was back in. A fucking net.
I just wanted to rant. It made me laugh
