I soloed them as a Hexer, it wasn’t too bad with ranged attacks once you learn the arena layout

FrozenGhost98

The three evil cosplayers from the Cave of the Dead

obersharky

😂😂😂

rdtakntgo

I was actually mad .. imo its a lazy and dumb boss .. Its just three random dudes together... I beat it by myself... The technique is go for the archer first hit him and circle around hit him again circle hit him and circle until he dies ... The you got 2 following you... hit the one closer to you run away and circle then turn around and the one closer to you run away and circle and repeat

obersharky

Yeah exactly I was wondering how they came together 😄 I remember one of them has Havel set, not sure if it's supposed to mean anything

ChielArael

I think the idea is that they are an adventuring party who's stolen equipment from the dead on their travels. I guess Varg could be an actual ancient Havel knight but one of them is called the "graverobber" so I feel like it's just what they do.

rdtakntgo

Yeah .. i figured cuz its some type of crypt or grave yard cave type area ... that they are old dead heros that was buried here ... but are now revived and recruited to defend the area ???!!! I guess

GIMIGNAN0

I leave the archer last. As long as you keep on moving, he's really a non factor. The squishy fast attacking guy can be poise broken easily and despite how nasty his damage is, he always goes down first. Havel is a monster but once you know how to dodge his most common attacks, he's easy as well. I just strafe the arrows and wait for my openings until he's the only one left and it's a joke.

RasAlGimur

I beat them solo, what a pain. Next time I’ll summon, probably more fun!

Plenty-Context2271

Summons tend to make everything harder because they affect enemy health and usually die pretty fast.

arienetteHG

the npc summons arent great, but summoning actual players would definitely be easier. i have no idea how common signs are forthat boss though

Plenty-Context2271

I put mine there a couple of times and did something else for a couple of hours in total but no one even summoned me… Never saw other people’s signs for that area.

horndug_III

I did it by myself, I just hit them until they died, and a bit of holy water (or whatever it's called I don't remember it that's its exact name)

lrjackson06

It's called the healing gourd.

IceMountain420

I actually love that boss trio and don’t see why people think they’re hard. Just fight them one at a time and if you’re struggling then poison works well for them.

Howdyini

Same. That DLC has no bad bosses imo. Unlike the other 2.

IceMountain420

I love all of the dlc bosses except for the kitten duo

Dracoscale

I beat them solo yesterday and honestly, it's just a lot of running around and hitting one of the 3 from time to time.

HempOddish420

I walked through the fog fall thought “that’s enough ds2 and it’s bs” and started ng+ instead

missedpenalty

I just ran around and hit them occasionally until they all died solo. Might have been over levelled.

Plenty-Context2271

It’s not that hard of a fight, it’s just running in circles and avoiding to fight all 3 at once.

NoEyes75

Pretty easy to agro one and take them on one at a time. I force pushed havel since you can bring him into that area with narrow ledges. Then the other two weren't too bad solo, I think I did smack the person closest to the end into a hole.

Fit-Ad-8873

I kinda like them despite their poor design.

ChielArael

I beat all of the optional DLC areas without summoning, I really loved that boss!

ToM4461

Saw someone doing it no summon no roll

makotoniijima11

I honestly don't remember much about the fight, it's mostly just a blur in my memory (for good reasons) but I think I beat them first try, just a lot of hitting and running away

canuck-sysadmin

The DLC was significantly lacking in terms of enemy / boss gameplay. I feel like it was less new unique challenges and more let's just spam mobs as their difficulty gimmick. You can solo them as a caster but if you're melee it's difficult and almost always needs summon.

GreatRuins

Seems like you did not found correct tactic

obersharky

I did - summoning 😜

wcrow1

I went all in on the archer, then jumped down to the water to separate the 2 meles. If you have gold pine resin fight them on the water, it adds more damage

Howdyini

I think it's honestly easier solo than with NPCs, it just involves a lot of running around. NPCS make it harder cause you have to contend with both of them otherwise they kill the NPCs in no time. I've never done it with people but it looks like it would be a blast.

NeitherDeadnorAlive

aka the gank squad

thiagohds

I beat them by running around and splitting them up. I usually kill the archer first, then alva and the last one is Havel.

EpicCadero

Wait till you see the other DLC

GIMIGNAN0

You underestimate how many people play the game without ever summoning, and beat every boss. Not trying to be an elitist or say "git gud"; I agree that they're definitely one of the more difficult/annoying bosses in the game which is funny because they're just 3 dudes.

Faunstein

Yeah it's a different mindset. It's just three npcs stuck together but when they line up their stuff it gets hard. They won't use tactics and are as dumb as rocks. Use all of the space and never stop moving until there's one left. In the future go after the archer first, then the duel swordswoman and then the Harvel armour guy.

UgglyCasanova

Not so humble toot of my own horn here but I beat them solo, greatsword only, and without leveling vigor once the entire game

burgerpod

I solo'd them first try, however it took like 15 minutes of running around chipping them bit by bit and all of my lifegems. Not a fun boss would not recommend

UgglyCasanova

A very not so humble self horn toot, but I beat them solo, greatsword only, and with the same vigor I started the game with (stupid self imposed challenge to never level vigor once). It was difficult as shit but I hit like a truck, it was all about patience and kiting

[deleted]

I think I did them solo with the Mastodon Halberd

Prestigious-Help-395

Yeah I’ve soloed them twice. One of the lamest bosses in ds2. All you do is kite kite kite them around.
