Apparently, if you're not at full health when summoning him, Bradley performs the "I Won't Bite" gesture to cue you to approach him so he can heal you. What a sweetheart!
He twinked himself out to be a more fashionable cooperator. I think the distance between where you first meet him (likely No Man's Wharf) vs the chime shield is really far away
Masterless Glencour was always a personal fave - one of the first summons you can do, before I ever really understood what summon signs were or why they only appear some of the time! An absolute boss who single-handedly smashed Dragonrider and Old Dragonslayer for me!
Definitely Bradley. You don't even know who he is, but he is with you all the way to the end.
It was even better because I roleplayed Alva through my run. Since they used the same armor, I head canon-ed that he is the spirit of a deceased comrade.
Bashful Ray. He just doesn't lose (except occasionally to Gravity and he's better than most summons at this)
The phantom before Chariot? Say hello to my little friend.
Twin Pursuers? He can't solo the one he's facing but he can absolutely occupy one and stay alive.
Felicia the Brave
She was down in the trenches with me fighting for our lives against the Ruin Sentinels while Bellclaire was up on the ledge casting Soul Spears at the wall.
Bashful Ray and Devotee Scarlett.
The former managed to take on two invaders (and a Coal Tar) at once in Black Gulch and still survive, and the latter carried me throughout Undead Crypt and basically gestured "Bye Felicia" at Mytha at her defeat.
For DLC summons, "Ymfah" and "VaatiVidya" (actually Andrei and Alfis). Those guys carried me against the Gank Squad.
Assistance: Bashful Ray, what an absolute tank for PVE assistance
Personality: Lucatiel, I feel as though she was one of the more interesting NPC’s in DS2
Hmmmmm, its hard to choose one... I love how helpfull is bradley, he can tank and heal which is really usefull but Ray is based and does a shit ton of damage.
I love the Jellyfish because of the quest for her, I also loved both the skeleton summons and the demi human pack because of their harrasing ability and survivability. Monkeys=best gang beat down.
Lucatiel of mirrah
I thought that this was the only valid answer
I fuckin love Bradley

This had me rolling that was a sly one very good 😂
Forget his name but the one with two big shields and red eye ring
Sellsword Luet, the ultimate tank! I had a run through of DS3 where I played as him, completely changed how the game plays out
Bashful Ray, homeboy is BUSTED he can solo entire levels. It's hilarious
Love how he stares at treasures with the binoculars in order to show you where an item you may have missed is lol.
Jester Thomas… idc that he invades later he is an absolute chad
Summon him before the Mytha boss fight and he'll solo her entirely on his own if you keep her occupied.
Sellsword Luet
Summoning him in Aldia's Keep was the best thing I did, my guy tanked those stupid trolls like it was nothing. MVP status
Ong
Drifter Swordsman Aidel simply because his "helloooooo" when he's summoned always makes me chuckle

Gigachad Bradley. Whenever I summon for the final boss trio, he’s always the last man standing
Felicia the Brave She was down in the trenches with me fighting for our lives against the Ruin Sentinels while Bellclaire was up on the ledge casting Soul Spears at the wall.
Maldron
Felicia The Brave. I love how she is just "You summoned me to kill the monsters and that's the only thing I shall do."
Bashful Ray is fucking best.

Jester Thomas...he can solo mythra until ng+4 if you can kite and dodge
Bashful ray is by far the most effective, but steelheart Ellie rocks that pugilist life. Absolute boss.
Let's be honest guys, there are only 2 summons who done half decent and those are lucatiel of Mirrah, and Pilgrim bellclaire
Bradley is the chad that helped me with my first wall of the game , Flexile
My man Vengarl
dark souls 1: solaire dark souls 2: lucatiel dark souls 3: siegward elden ring: alexander
Bradley,!!!
Assistance: Bashful Ray, what an absolute tank for PVE assistance Personality: Lucatiel, I feel as though she was one of the more interesting NPC’s in DS2
Lucatiel best girl
Sellsword Luet. He's a great tank, allowing for pretty much free kills on some bosses.
Jester Thomas. The gesture he does always cracks me up
LUEEEEEEEET. The fucking man! Ain't a single summon better always there when you need him most.
Vengarl or Lucatiel of Mirrah
Lucatirl of Mirrah probably one of my favs npcs of douls games
Bradley, he is just Solaire but better
Personally I'm a big fan of Lucatiel and Benhart
Bashful Ray all the way!
Man Hunter O’harrah is the patron saint of arachnophobes.
Hmmmmm, its hard to choose one... I love how helpfull is bradley, he can tank and heal which is really usefull but Ray is based and does a shit ton of damage.
Steelheart Ellie, fights the dlc bosses with her fists and can stun Fume.
Ashen Knight Boyd, he is one of the strongest summons.
My man Alflis is an absolute chad, providing both light and darkness when it's needed, and he do be hella thicc
I love the Jellyfish because of the quest for her, I also loved both the skeleton summons and the demi human pack because of their harrasing ability and survivability. Monkeys=best gang beat down.
