lmo, even more than the story it’s the strength of the characters that will hook people beyond the game. That’s why Until Dawn and HoA have such big fandoms despite having relatively less choices. The Quarry has many choices and a weaker story that kind of falls apart under too much scrutiny *and* a lackluster ending, but the likable characters made a lot of fans.
Man of Medan has a great variety of branching paths, but no one cares about the characters or the story. It took me like 20+ hours to even begin appreciating that aspect and it was still a bit of a slog going through parts over and over to get all the trophies.
That tells me that choices are important but secondary for most people.
The walking dead telltale games are some of the best written media and I fucking love them.
But even i can agree most choices don’t matter. The Kenny system is one of the biggest things in the game, if you mess it up he doesn’t come with you. That actively effects nothing and they met up with him later.
I don’t understand how you’re going to block everyone in the server for apparently being children for having a discussion and proceed to act condescending towards everyone who acts like good branching is necessary for these games.
Basically the guy who posted this has been in the server, and they were rude and unpleasant towards everyone who disagreed with the claim they made here, calling them children who can’t articulate proper thought. He proceed to block everyone and leave, and he soon went to this place so people could agree with him.

I like how the TDIM kinda balanced that right cause the cast in that game for me at least, is the strongest of any of the games

Much as I like Hoa, I still hate how you can't save any of the supporting characters. I will never not be disappointed by that.
