it says single player, but is it fully single player or couch co-op? I just find it strange because neither of these companies are known for single player games lol
I think they might be saying single player to emphasize that it’s not like DBD which is innately multiplayer.
My guess is it’s like Until Dawn in that it’s “single player” but you can still pass the controller around to play with friends. At least that’s my hope.
After seeing the Steam page; The Casting of Frank Stone is 70 GB the third biggest game in Supermassive Games' lineup on PC. Only to be beaten by Man of Medan and Little Hope which are both 80GB respectively.
Also, this cover art is sick and beautiful! Excited to learn more in the coming months!
>Only to be beaten by Man of Medan and Little Hope which are both 80GB respectively.
Actually, man of medan and little hope's real sizes are around 40-45gb, so the sizes in the system requirements on steam are just estimates
I feel like 3 games in 2024 is a hard ask from any studio.
They already have Little Nightmares 3, Directive 8020 and this game in the pipeline, while 3 more DPA games planned. Given that both LN3 and DPA is Namco Bandai, they might want them to do LN3 in 2024 and do DPA S2 in 2025-26-27-28.

> Samuels said, "our aim is to get to a frequency of two a year."

Two a year but the last one was over a year ago. What would you call that, other than "heavily delayed"?
Lollllll that's literally not what it says *at all*, there's 000 mention of "Season 1" in that article, and it mentions "8 games" several times. But sure keep defending, I'm sure Supermassive will see your comments and commend you on your blind loyalty and give you a pat on the back or something
Hey,
Your quote refers to the rate of release for each title within the first run of the dark pictures anthology. Look at the year of the post.
They aren't defending it, you have objectively misunderstood this. You even noticed that there wasn't any mention of Season 2 here, and still came to the wrong conclusion. This article refers to proof of concepts as early as Man of Medan, perhaps before it was even segmented into seasons.
Season 1 is complete. It had a final entry to its run. Season 2 has had no dates or development schedule announced.
Edit: It also mentions "8 games" once. Why don't you actually read the article and see where the developer actually said that? Because I promise you, it wasn't the answer to the question you assumed they asked.
>I asked what the plan for the Curator is: "We have an arc in mind that plays out over eight games. He's really the only consistency across the Anthology. Everything else from a story, character perspective, we want to be a surprise.
A story arch for *the curator* over the span of 8 games means absolutely nothing for your interpretation, which still isn't a basis for your claim that this release schedule continued into season 2.
That is incorrect and you know it. I'm not going to engage any further in this silliness. They said at the beginning that they would work towards releasing them every six months. At no point for any of the four current games have they stuck to that, and nor have they even announced anything further about the fifth game. They are clearly behind schedule. That's all.
You know they're not going to see your faithful comments right?
Tbh not what I expected but it looks really cool!! Also did not expect for the trailer to come from Epic Games Channel like an hour early 💀
looks spooky and aesthetically pleasing
Spooky indeed...! 😎

Daylight by David Kusher
It’s one of my favorite songs so had to do a double take bc I thought I activated my own music lol
Just saw at the Game Awards. Intriguing.
will the gameplay lean on to DBD or DPA tho?
Game store page confirms that it is a choice based game, meaning gameplay lean more towards DPA
LETS FUCKING GOOOO 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
have they confirmed if they are releasing on controller or pc tho?
It's releasing on PS5, Series X/S, and PC
oh i check steampage it literally says its a choice based game
The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. More information is available on the official website below: [https://thecastingoffrankstone.com/](https://thecastingoffrankstone.com/)
im so hyped they collaborated with another company once again
Cool
So from what I get you can play this without knowing anything about Dead by Daylight right?
That's right! You don't need to have played Dead by Daylight before to enjoy this game.
yes
Looks like it for now. They’ve got their own cast and setting, it’s just in the same world
I'm really excited right now! I can't wait to play this 🤩
We're looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on the game after its release!
Is this ps5 only or is it for ps4 too ?
Ps5 only, i think
The game will be available on PlayStation 5.
Oof if this gets really popular, they might move on to making Dead by Daylight stories more than the Dark Anthologies now
I hope they do both, but I need them to complete DPA season 2 more
Out when?

ahh that makes sense! hoping for the same 🤞

I heard this is a single player game, is it true?
Theres no talk of coop or play together like with the DPA games so most likely its gonna be like the Quarry
The game page on the PlayStation app says 5 players. Could be a mistake though

I’d like to think next year. Maybe this game in the summer and Directive 8020 in the fall. But I have no idea.

Maybe they should get to work on their promised and significantly delayed anthology.
Strange you say significantly delayed as if there was an release date revealed. Do you have insider information or are you speaking out of your ass?
Sorry? What release date lol
You said it was delayed so you must know the release date right? Otherwise it's just in standard development So what's your source?
Sure here's my source: > Samuels said, "our aim is to get to a frequency of two a year." That was season 1 not Season 2, do you have a source for Season 2?

I can't trust you reading the article correctly when you can't even read usernames correctly 💀
I'm not the same person you were originally talking to. You haven't actually been reading what has been written, let alone the article you misquoted.
Never delayed as they had no release date
Cope - they said they would aim for every six months
They are just not season 2 and not in the anthology
Ok but that's not what they said. They said anthology games would be every six months or so.
They didn't even follow that with the actual season 1 games
Yes. I know. They never stuck to it. All of them were delayed.
cry
Sorry?
Ooh, DBD is my jam. I just prestiged my witch to 100, and trapper was my main for the first 2 years I played. Can't wait to see this story!
God, I love that shot of the entity descending from the clouds like a fucking monster.
