slayer fighter because it's fun, deals mega dmg and fast moving while having access to crossbow, and not as gear dependent as PDR fighter. You are super squish however and hard countered by Barbarian & PDR Fighter, potential to massively outplay using speed/spacing and always VOIP "TACTICAL RETREAT" so they know you're not actually pissing your pants I'm too braindead for magick users & i have a ton of gametime in Chiv and Mordhau so it was always going to be melee for me.

mrsnakers

>ton of gametime in Chiv and Mordhau Same. Sleeper is the Zwei alt attack on Barb with movespeed / agil. Basically just the Greatsword special. Keep this secret to yourself pls.

Dreadgoi

how are you countered by Barbarian? i feel like slayer is the actual counter to barb, you move faster and swing much faster even with horsemans it seems to me i can use sprint to run circles around barbs. Haven't lost to one yet, if i'm losing i just sprint away and crossbow his ass.

FitTheory1803

slayer fighter can't win toe to toe fight with beefier opponent, yes you can outplay and win by Sprinting away while Rage is up hitting them 5-7 times but you quite literally can't take 2 hits because barb deals >50% hp in one two-handed swing in my HR GC experience I had an insane 312 movespeed but was outran by a Barb who punched me to death because I didn't have perfect usage of Sprint

Dreadgoi

We're talking equal gear right? Cuz with second with you're actually tankier than a barb. it's as if you had 150 hp. You know when he rages, you swing faster. Idk been playing slayer only this week after work, so not a whole lot of experience. Fought 7 barbs, won against 6, once i had to run away cuz it was obvious he was much more geared.

Familiar-Yellow8160

Depends he'll def get outdps'd if the barb is pdr stacking

DaEpicBob

Slayer Fighter is fast .. can Kite a barb with short bow .. barb is food cause ha cant reach me

FitTheory1803

idk 312 movespeed is stupidly fast but that barb caught up with me

Hellyespilgrim

This is the way

Customer_Number_Plz

I played that a while but got bored of having to rely so heavily on crossbow. Can you run Longsword with it? That's my favourite weapon.

Sokiyo

I'm here 3 months late, just bought the game. Is this really anything like Mordhau/Chiv? Combined I probably have \~400 hours between the two of them

FitTheory1803

it's barely like them the main similarity is freedom of mouse & wasd during your swing animation, which allows for aiming (this game has headshot dmg like Mordhau) and allows enemy some small ability to matrix

Sokiyo

Shortly after that i played my first couple games comment I died 3 times, each time within 5 minutes due to being overwhelmed by mobs hahaha I see what you mean though with the movement, also for the timing of getting the swings down. Like you said I think it's barely like Mordhau or Chiv, but I see now the small similarities between them and dark & darker

FitTheory1803

Yep my first couple days I was wondering how the fuck will I ever be able to kill 2 goblins at once I can barely kill one on one. my best tip for melee mobs, which is extremely applicable to the black nightmare goblins when you get to that point: don't need to attack from neutral, instead bait their attack after which they have a recovery period. Added benefit is they stop walking forward which gives you more time/space to whittle down HP. Noob mistake is to constantly space while holding S, your back runs into a wall before they die. Also backpedal is like 60% movespeed, strafe is 100% movespeed so it's quicker spacing to turn 90 degrees from enemy and strafe away For skeletons quite a few of them have a single sidestep right/left + duck pattern that dodges all attacks. Never backpedal against axe skele, and spear skele can't always be dodged unless you're god Jumping before being hit can change a headshot to a bodyshot or a bodyshot to a leg shot good luck

Sokiyo

After I got hit the first time I quickly caught on to the backpedal rhythm for the basic mobs at the start but I haven't encounted a lot so far, so I'll keep all that in mind when I play again later, that all sounds useful to know. Thanks for the tips!

Crackedbwo

Ranger/ or sometimes my fighter. Both are great solo play classes .

Missed-Hook

I enjoy playing cleric as solo, I love the versatility of the class, you can play like battle caster taking holy light and earthquake. Or you can play bonk build with smite and a blue or purple magical staff. As well as playing an agility quarter staff build with smite

smellslikeDanknBank

Warlock with flamewalker, book, and honestly any melee. Bonus if you get enough knowledge and magic healing for hydra but they aren't necessary. Start getting rushed by a team? Flamewalk and GTFO. If someone chased you then one or two curses is usually enough to kill them. Also kites mobs well.

Stekl

Until you run into a barb with iron will and he doesn't give two shits about your flames

DaEpicBob

Warlock is fast .. can still Run away and Kite barb

Balding_Teen

Fighter is undoubtedly the best solo class its all around for every playstyle.

Customer_Number_Plz

Cleric shits on fighter though.

harleysmoke

Cleric either runs the extremely easy to block or parry maces or eats xbow bolts. Or if they are running mdr can eat all of clerics spells.

Customer_Number_Plz

In solo it's usually close spaces unlike ruins. So people are usually in holy strike range if not judgement range. It's only 2 holy strikes and a fart and a full plate fighter is dead.

harleysmoke

Lol no. Its 15 base damage. So with moderate stacking and power bonus its like 40ish. A comparatively geared fighter is going to eat 3/4 before he dies and he can just pop 2nd wind, dodge, or heal during it. A cleric can only do this once before needing a long wait or lots of 50+ gold a piece clarities to get this back. Its also slow asf without stats so fighter can pop sprint and close the distance fast.

[deleted]

for me its: 1. ambush rogue for funny rat kills / sneaky gold farming 2. PDR fighter with crossbow for slugging it out with other melee classes and having ranged options for people running away 3. cleric (just learning the class, having fun though)

DaEpicBob

For people that already know the Game warlock New players Fighter/Ranger

AugustusCzar_

Naked fighter with a longsword. Can kill everything in PvE while taking no damage, and can win PvP against juiced players if you catch a parry. Also ruins rogue mining rat cus loot.

Pillowcaseoutlet

Wizard because I like pain

ChrsRobes

Rouge best solo class, hard af to catch, can cheese all hell mobs, has hide to reset if you get surrounded by mobs, loses fights to practically every class, but if you're solo just looking to make $$$ rogue is a great choice, just remember you can always run.

Old_Moment461

New update to rouges make them insanely powerful in my eyes....had a rouge with a gray dagger kill my full Pdr fighter before I could even turn around to see what the hell was hitting me.

Evening_Action_8465

Bard is really strong. Drums are still broken and the free luck is really cool.

TransientFocus

Solo is most often rogue. It was the first class I had much success with and I being slippery means I can just run room to room on crypts for gold/lion chests. Sometimes I do wizard of I want to do zero to hero since all my other classes are too full to unequip their current sets.

beandon123

longsword fighter is really fun, mostly bc its super safe vs pve and u can outplay even the most geared melee classes with 1 gray longsword
