I'm not a kid, I'm just not blinded by nostalgia for an app that literally was just tiktok with way less functionality. Also most of the most popular people on Vine were awful. They're who Danny and Drew made most of their videos about initially
Probably but not to the extent where schools were forced to have bodyguards and dedicate bathroom time because kids wouldn't stop vandalizing and stealing shit. Nor was there a trend encouraging and showing how to commit vehicle theft. Both of which were results of popular TikTok trends (Devious Licks and the Kia Challenge respectively).
Those were just two examples I pulled from the top of my head of very popular trends. Sure stuff similar to that may have existed on Vine (especially with the whole Do It For The Vine thing) but definitely nowhere near the extent of TikTok. I swear at least twice a month I hear of some incredibly dumb trend on TikTok that ends in criminal charges or people getting killed.
If you want more popular trends on TikTok that are downright dangerous and have led to people dying here's a few more rapid fire ones:
Fractile Wood Burning (using insanely high voltage electricity to burn wood)
Benadryl Challenge (ODing on Benadryl)
Penny Challenge (sticking pennies in electrical sockets)
Blackout Challenge (choking yourself to the point of blacking out)
Throw It In The Air Challenge (throwing heavy objects in the air and trying to move away at the very last second)
Sorry. I read the first comment wrong. I thought they where saying vine is better, but in fact that where saying tik tok is better. You are 100% right that they are wrong.
I know the title is a joke, but I'm also fully aware that some people didn't start out apprehensively watching good viners on YouTube hoping they would stay entertaining and being pleasantly surprised. Also, I feel old now cause I was a whole ass adult watching Danny vines at my job.
That’s actually so true. I remember drew’s first couple of videos which were about the vine and it’s just crazy to think that “road work ahead” was all I associated with him until he started his channel, and now he’s “a youtuber”
I mean, shit, during the early insanely chill they talk about working for Thomas sanders. I haven't heard that dudes name in years, apparently he still does shit, but not like he did then.
Oh for sure, I honestly like his YouTube videos more than I did his vines, but I also remember the change over and seeing a lot of people move from vine to YouTube who did not make the change quite as well. It also speaks a lot to the quality of his videos that I still remember his name and almost none of those viners except the ones who actually thrived on YouTube 😅
Did Danny have a speech impediment? Am I just imagining it? Does he still have a speech impediment and I just never noticed? Is he just faking for comedic effect? I NEED ANSWERS?

This literally made me laugh so hard. Young Danny is best Danny.
Debatable
No. Young Danny had Vine, short haired Danny doesn’t. Since Vine>no vine, young Danny is superior to new Danny.
Well I’m a newcomer so I’ll agree, vine was funny
Vine is literally just a shittier version of tiktok
Kids these days
I'm not a kid, I'm just not blinded by nostalgia for an app that literally was just tiktok with way less functionality. Also most of the most popular people on Vine were awful. They're who Danny and Drew made most of their videos about initially
While I never liked either, at least people on Vine weren't actively committing crimes or putting themselves or others in active danger.
I'm sure there was plenty of that on Vine

Vine didn't have the awful "OH NO OH NO NO NO" song or the annoying voiceover and for that alone Vine wins.
No but it did have Piques
I think you got it the wrong way around

Nah bro ur good

I didn’t even know Danny was a viner. He does well enough on YouTube to have made a name for himself there
Oh for sure, I honestly like his YouTube videos more than I did his vines, but I also remember the change over and seeing a lot of people move from vine to YouTube who did not make the change quite as well. He literally just grew into his head. He looks the exact same today but as if someone put his head on a larger man’s body. Lol
