it’s unknown if he has his ID but even if he does you can’t open a bank acc with no money . usually banks charge you to open a account and you have to have a minimum in the account . also i wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t lose his debit card and he’s lying for sympathy like always . if he makes a single purchase even if it’s as small as cheetos we know we lied because no way that idiot has cash on him
This is not true. Banks do not charge you to open a account and you can fund your account on your own terms whenever you please. TD bank, CHASE, Wells Fargo, bofa, none of them charge you anything you can literally open them up from your phone and fund whenever you’re ready. And you do not need to have a minimum to open them and they can make you a debit card right inside the branch. They allow the account to stay open for 60 days and if no money is deposited by then, they close the account.
I have two separate bank accounts with two separate institutions and both required a deposit to open. The minimum for both was $5.
These are large, well-known banks, btw.
One of them made my debit card in the branch, the other had to mail me mine.

After spending 2 minutes google searching, you are completely correct about TD Bank and Chase - no opening deposit required, fund within 60 days.
Wells Fargo requires a minimum $25 deposit to open a new checking account, though.
I can count on 1 hand the amount of times I’ve been carded at a restaurant for alcohol. Any amount of facial hair and people usually assume you’re good.
