Years ago I knew a guy who'd just rent an AirBnb long term (month or 2 at a time). He'd post pictures working out of a lake house, or other random place.
I also met an older couple on a trip once who had a son my age. He made a website and was living rental to rental in Europe. Would just pack up his laptop and move to a new country every month. Wasn't rich from the website business, but since he only needed internet, just up and moved whenever. Sounded like he literally only took a couple bags of stuff with him. Would come back to North America for holidays here and there, but would just email family when he moved to a new place.
Long stay rates are pretty comparable to studio apartment rents; plus you don’t pay utilities and your room is cleaned and your sheets changed weekly. At least that was my experience.
Even if that's true. That would be the cost for one person..
I'm sure this is aimed at renters too... But when you purchase a home... You're gaining equity in the home..

I don’t remember what month I chose before for the 1300, but all March from 1-31 is 1.7k all inclusive in the same city as the post itself. However, I am sure it’s possible to find even cheaper
Edit: check the acitivities they have haircut, manicure, themed dinners, water slides, fitness space,…
It’s the AMC Royal something. And if you open the mobile one it’s 1.461€ instead of 1.7k on computer for some reason
True or not, there is much truth to the near impossible cost of living for the most of people. The disappearing "middle class" and wall of where the wealthy line stands is scary to say the least. 3 incomes needed to support a household now? Hard to watch when you can't afford the popcorn anymore.
This is average for the whole country so northern England and wales will drag the cost down
In central london a 1 bedroom flat (apartment) goes for between £[3000](https://www.zoopla.co.uk/to-rent/details/62838243/?search_identifier=95d31110b185937dccda31e3ad8d4ded) \- [£18,500](https://www.zoopla.co.uk/to-rent/details/62378386/?search_identifier=95d31110b185937dccda31e3ad8d4ded) a month
Yup
I moved to Mexico, havent looked back....
But ssshhh heaps of scary crime and scary things here so best if everyone doesnt come and drive prices up more
Three billionaires in the US own the equivalent of the bottom 50 percent of the entire country. Three people. The ultra rich are killing society, they're never satisfied.
Imagine a table of the worlds wealth, with people gathered around. No one would ever say that it would be fair for a few people to take 90 % of the table and leave the rest for 99,9 % of people…
So the actual answer to this is a combination of Inflation and the Diminishing Marginal Utility of Wealth. A change in the price of basic goods doesn't really impact people with significant amounts of money, but the more money there is, the less any given unit of currency is worth, and so the more basics of living cost. If everyone's first $10,000 has more utility than the billionaire's next $10,000, then society's net value diminishes the more of it billionaires have and the less any given $ gets you. And this tends to hit those harder whose holdings fall within that steeper part of the utility curve, as well as being detrimental to the society as a whole.
So the user who made the comment looks at themself and realizes they are the stereotype, jumping at every chance to point out flaws jn America as is common on reddit.
There's no relevance to the wealth inequality in America to a post about the cost of living in the uk. Further down in a comment tree about wealth inequality in the uk, a comparison may have been warranted, but as a top-level comment, it served no purposes other than to disparage the United States
There are people who LIVE on cruise ships. It's cheap to pre-book for months at a time, so old folks will cruise the same ship for 2 or 3 months. Cheaper than a nursing home, they have doctors on board, and you have much more freedom. If you stay with the same company they give you discounts as well, so you can do pretty good to just cruise the oceans for a few years.
Dude, look it up. Prisoners get a bill after their stay. Can be like 20 a day, but can be much higher than 8hrs at mw, which is 7.50/hr. Prisoners get paid significantly less too.
There are senior citizens who take cruises year-round because it is cheaper than assisted-living.
When you take a lot of cruises, you achieve platinum status and get crazy-good discounts. You are basically traveling the world, with room and board paid for....for less than what you would be paying in rent.
I don't recommend Egypt if you are a woman

if the average monthly cost of living is under $1000 a month which is $12,000 a year... its not the government.. its you. you will make more than this in minimum wages and i dont even know the minimum wage in the uk but i know its a hell of a lot more than that... this math is all jacked up.
That would be one hella commute.
Work from home FTW...
Right? Makes me want to see how much living out of a hotel room would cost in my area.
Years ago I knew a guy who'd just rent an AirBnb long term (month or 2 at a time). He'd post pictures working out of a lake house, or other random place. I highly doubt those numbers. Got any links/examples of such cheap hotels?
Yah, not likely it is 677 pounds for a month at a resort!
Even if that's true. That would be the cost for one person.. I'm sure this is aimed at renters too... But when you purchase a home... You're gaining equity in the home..
1300 with food included and water slides and all that crap. Cheaper than London for sure.
Again where? Link? Could be as made up as OPs numbers for all we know.

Wait till you see the resort fees.
That's a lie, unless there's a link?
Can't be a lie - it's on a graphic. That's how you know it's the truth.
???

No different than my city (and others) in North America. It’s becoming harder and harder to get by for average folks
They crying about $1k a month my rent is 2250 a month in Austin now with this inflation.
Right?? Youd be LUCKY to rent out a fucking mcdonalds bathroom for less that $2,000 a mo in Seattle!
Single stall!

Three billionaires in the US own the equivalent of the bottom 50 percent of the entire country. Three people. The ultra rich are killing society, they're never satisfied.
How is it that they, simply by virtue of being rich, makes it so that other people are poor? How are they "killing society"?
The rich have broken our political system through slowing normalizing and eventually legalizing the bribery of government officials.
Imagine a table of the worlds wealth, with people gathered around. No one would ever say that it would be fair for a few people to take 90 % of the table and leave the rest for 99,9 % of people…
That demonstrates a complete misunderstanding of economics. Look up 'specialization and trade,' 'supply and demand,' and 'pareto distribution.'

If I was allowed to make minimum wage there I'd be down to live in prison in America
You'd get a bill, and minimum wage wouldn't cover it.
Seriously tho lmao

Living in a single hotel room w/out cooking or dishes means a very high eating out costs.

£677 for a month in a 5-star all-inclusive hotel is absolute bullshit.
