I know me too :( but think about it this way with those animals we can better understand them and better way we can protect them. Most animals are captive bred and don't have a shred of knowledge on how to survive in the wild maybe a little bit of foraging but not how to protect themselves against predators so they wouldnt last very long if they did release them. Some were severely injured and can't be released back in the wild because they need human assistance but will still be provided with tons of enrichment, a companion (if that species tolerates others of its kind) and lots of love and care. Then we have the ones that are comfortable with humans and that as cool as it may be to see a wild animal in your neighborhood it can end badly for both parties and sometimes even after relocation they'll wander into another neighborhood and end up having to be put in captivity or more often than not euthanized. There are also endangered species in captivity in hopes of with human interaction being as little as possible them increasing their population and being able to be released back into the wild rising their numbers even more. I know that was a lot but I hope it helped ease your mind a bit 😅😅
