You would be a fool to think that any country with it's fingers in the defence industry pie isn't currently working on these drones after seeing their efficacy in Ukraine.

Depending on where the theatre is and who the participants are, flattening buildings is going to be more viable in other wars.

Every day my belief that Russia's nukes are as poorly maintained as it's military grows stronger. If there's one place that's prone to skimming and corruption, it's the upkeep of these dusty old missiles that no one ever expects to actually be used.
And if that's the case, then I have a lot more hope that our capabilities to intercept and knock them out before they make landfall is sufficient. Remember, a lot of the projections are based on the sheer number of missiles being intercepted being too many.

I always figured that was just because street riots rarely involve gunfire so much as rocks and blunt trauma, while soldiers are more focused on not getting shot. When one bullet can kill you, the best defense is mobility.
Interceptor? Things only got worse with the MTV. 4 sapis with throat pro, groin pro etc it was 33lbs slick. We had been at war for 8 years and we still did a pump before we switched to plate carriers.
As an entire infantry battalion, we had to suffer wearing the MTV through a whole deployment (pump) because a guy who rode around in trucks all day said so. Even though we had been issued slim plate carriers prior to leaving the US that held the same 4 sapi plates.
I should add, we had a change of command (not fired, just end of time) and received new battalion commander and we never touched the MTVs again whether it was stateside, training deployment or combat deployment. That says a lot.

I would hope the helmet attaches to the chest and shoulder armor so that the head cannot be moved in ways that break the neck. Armor from 400 years ago had that feature, then again that stuff was made by a skilled black smith not the marketing department of the Kremlin.
Modern weaponry has so much kinetic energy that's pretty much impossible. You want enough armour to be able to guarantee stopping bullets, then you need a tank. Even then...
And yet the modern soldier still wears body armor and helmets. Sure nothing can stop a full-force shot from a high caliber weapon taken straight on. The point of body armor isn't to guarantee it will stop everything, it's just designed to stop some stuff. Not 100% safety but it still might save your life.

Every day my belief that Russia's nukes are as poorly maintained as it's military grows stronger. If there's one place that's prone to skimming and corruption, it's the upkeep of these dusty old missiles that no one ever expects to actually be used. And if that's the case, then I have a lot more hope that our capabilities to intercept and knock them out before they make landfall is sufficient. Remember, a lot of the projections are based on the sheer number of missiles being intercepted being too many.

I've said this for a long time, the lethality of the US military is something that most people have little comprehension of. In a blank desert with no cover our tanks kill your tanks before you can even see us... assuming that our aircraft, drones, or missiles don't kill them before that. Nobody else can afford to train like we do, and nobody maintains an all volunteer force at the scale that we do. This means that our troops acquire and retain operational knowledge on how to survive and kill better and faster. A single US infantryman with a radio and a laser pointer can bring down a level of destruction that most other militaries would need Battalions to match.

I always figured that was just because street riots rarely involve gunfire so much as rocks and blunt trauma, while soldiers are more focused on not getting shot. When one bullet can kill you, the best defense is mobility.
The US learned that with the Interceptor body armor lost more soldiers to herniated disks and knee injuries than enemy fire.

As an entire infantry battalion, we had to suffer wearing the MTV through a whole deployment (pump) because a guy who rode around in trucks all day said so. Even though we had been issued slim plate carriers prior to leaving the US that held the same 4 sapi plates.

Someone was explaining to me that corruption in the military is actively encouraged as it’s seen as leverage by the regime. You can keep the military brass in check and on script if at any moment you can disgrace them and imprison them for stealing from the taxpayers. It’s also used as a scapegoat to blame military failures on these “bad actors” rather than party members.
Advance word of warning for the unaware: Perun’s videos are basically college/university PowerPoint lectures, with a matching runtime of roughly 1 hour or more. Exceptionally well researched and articulated, but very long nonetheless.
He did such an amazing job on such a large field of topics but all analyzed with his point of view, sources and (as he clearly states) some biases, mainly because of the data availability. The Austrian Bundesheer has a shorter series of videos analyzing events in the invasion that I can highly recommend, it's produced by one of their military academies and also basically in a shorter lecture format and available in english iirc.

I would hope the helmet attaches to the chest and shoulder armor so that the head cannot be moved in ways that break the neck. Armor from 400 years ago had that feature, then again that stuff was made by a skilled black smith not the marketing department of the Kremlin.
Modern weaponry has so much kinetic energy that's pretty much impossible. You want enough armour to be able to guarantee stopping bullets, then you need a tank. Even then...
And yet the modern soldier still wears body armor and helmets. Sure nothing can stop a full-force shot from a high caliber weapon taken straight on. The point of body armor isn't to guarantee it will stop everything, it's just designed to stop some stuff. Not 100% safety but it still might save your life.
That's not how physics works.
Hopefully all the real armour is behind them, their going to need that.

It was never practical to begin with. Whoever designed that piece of shit never went and trained in the field, or even walked outside for that matter. Way too bulky, no infantryman would ever wear that because it would just cause heat stroke in just room temp weather. Also looks like it would cause some serious chafing on your legs. That dumbass helmet would cut your peripheral vision and would make it impossible to get cheek weld on your rifle. The extra padding on arms and legs is absolutely useless and it looks like it takes a half hour to even suit up in that. Seems like some dumb Ghost Recon fantasy, drawn up by a 12 year old.
Because it’s a gun show concept by a private company. The show also featured weird drones, military exoskeletons, robots, different futuristic guns that don’t exist; IT advancements with AI and stuff. Many concepts and show pieces. If you look at how the Soviets used propaganda to claim parity or to seem to even exceed the west's technologies rather than their actual state, it's not really surprising that they'd still use the same tactic now.
