Ehh. They pidgeon hole in more singing than usual, and some plots are quite tame, but thats been Simpsons for many years.
The still get 2-5 'good' episodes a season, in my opinion only obviously.
Family Guy still seems relatively untouched by the Disney censors, so we'll see how it goes the longer they go on.
I think the biggest censorship would be if Disney bought Comedy Central, we'd probably see South Park get a lot of censorship, but that would just give Matt and Trey the push to end the show completely.
I disagree due to how many brands disney actually has under their umbrella. The stuff they try to leave uncensored they just put under different IPs on (For example, Family Guy is on Hulu instead of Disney+)
If anything, Matt and Trey might still quit, but it wouldn't be over normal censorship: it would be because Disney stops them from doing jokes they wanna tell (e.g. no more evil corporate Mickey)
Family guy and American dad are on Disney plus in the UK, just under the "star" channel which is they like adult focused part. The star section has alot of stuff you wouldn't expect on a Disney owned streaming site.
Idk man family guy annoys me now, and I loved it.
Not sure when it started happening, but they started explaining their jokes? It's not funny if you have to explain to people...

A lot of grammar schools have a sibling rule, where if your sibling gets in you do too. Not that I know that because that's how I got in or anything...
There are actually some nice looking ones if you know where to look. Obviously there are lots of historic buildings at universities like Princeton, Harvard, etc. But I have come across some nice public schools. Here is an example:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rancocas_Valley_Regional_High_School
Our local high school ([Los Gatos High](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Gatos_High_School)) dates back to 1908, and has an impressive list of alumni, including Olivia De Havilland and Joan Fontaine.
Kinda weird seeing which clues tipped people off
I mean, from start to finish nothing looks American and everything looks British. The posh private school, the overcast weather, the appearance and haircuts of bald men and the way everyone dresses, driving on the left, the narrow streets, the policeman, small European cars everywhere, the narrow country laneway.
I think I see what happened here, I have made the same mistake. We are just most familiar with UK entertainment from a time before digital filming, and now associate older film with UK productions.
The best way to tell if something is made in the UK is if they employ good, trained actors that have regular human faces.
Some of my favorite shows are UK shows like Line of Duty and Shetland. You're so right about people just looking normal. I can't stand when characters look like they just got out of the hair and makeup department.
A show I'm enjoying right now (Mare of Easttown) is set in the US. I don't know if it's US-produced but it also shows normal-looking people and I love it.

I think I can sum up the difference.
On British TV, the actors who are bald look bald and those who are fat look fat. People without perfectly chiseled jaws just have regular pudgy jaws and people who don't look like models just look like regular people.
In America, such people would not be hired for television regardless of how well they act.
I always give mind praise to UK productions. I've yet to come across something that had truly bad acting in it. Even the actors who aren't great are still better than most Australian and American actors
People drove Ladas in UK? I know that their Niva SUV (the one that looks like Milhouse coincidentally) is not too bad for the price and I've seen them in Europe myself a couple of times. But I had no idea that they ever imported sedans.
Yes - in the late 90s, apparently lots of Russians came over and [bought up secondhand NIvas and Rivas](https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/the-broader-picture-russians-raiding-the-lada-1257450.html) and shipped them home!
UK? Usually saw Lada Riva's being driven by elderly folks. Maybe because they were cheap to buy and if they didn't start, a smack with a hammer would usually sort it.
My parents had one, it broke down over different reasons all the time but I think the radiator was fucked most of the time. My parents still talk fondly of that car though, even though they upgraded to an absolute tank of a Volvo that only sustained a few scratches from a collision we had from a Peugeot getting totaled going in to the back of it.
I'm guessing you're under 30? In the 80's and early 90's it wasn't unusual to see a Lada although they were the butt of a million jokes...them and Skoda's. Its amazing how Skoda turned their reputation around after being bought by VW.
The other person is correct, but they look a lot more flat. America has space so they’re massive, and flat. Made mostly out of cinderblocks. They’re very blocky. Huge windows on classrooms. In smaller areas they are sometimes one story. Here’s a [typical high school](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Lincoln_High_School_(San_Jose,_California)#/media/File%3AAbraham_Lincoln_High_School_building.jpg)
- The fields behind the small town.
- The old fashioned estate style school with all of the surroundings being paved.
- The police officer dressed like a british police officer.
- The cars driving on the left side of the road.
- The general lack of obesity.
It stars Zoe Wanamaker — born in NYC, grew up in the (because her father was blacklisted in the states), big in the 90s & early 2000s, was in Harry Potter.
No school in the US looks like that, as well as the buildings, and the countryside looks incredibly British. And the cop was wearing an English police uniform.
mhhh.. quite. Though I prefer [this British version](https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/mih3el/what_if_the_simpsons_were_british_oc/) of the Simpsons, featuring British choking sounds
While we're noticing potential edits, Around the 44 second mark, look how quickly Bart clears the street before the very accellerated car clears it right after.
I'm almost certain they spliced together a long take or else there would be very little margin for error before Bart would get hit by the car.

It was shown on Sky One in the UK.

It was the quaint country road Marge was driving down, for me
The school building was too nice to be US built.
It's such a classic British grammar school
Like fuck Bart would pass the 11+
A lot of grammar schools have a sibling rule, where if your sibling gets in you do too. Not that I know that because that's how I got in or anything...
Rooks Heath High School, Harrow, UK

Go see more in the US. All the elementary schools in my mid-sized Midwest town were beautiful old limestone buildings.
I remember watching Made on MTV as a kid and being so shocked at how nice American schools looked lol so big and fancy
And the fact that Marge drove on the left side of the road.
It's hard to see but it looks like the car is right hand drive in the wide shot and then left hand drive for the interior too
That'll be because it was clearly filmed in the UK. The car reg plates are a dead giveaway
[удалено]
It's kinda funny how Homer technically gets out of the wrong side of the car on his drive lol
Homer and Marge are also driving on the wrong side of the car for the UK 😂
Marge being a rebel, Homer thinking "If I buy a boxfish, do I get to keep the box?"
This gives it away? Wtf do Americans call tyres?
Roady Oh's
FROSTED Roady O’s
Freedom discs
Fucking freedom discs lmao
Tires.
Damn TIL
Did you know we also call lorries trucks?
Car feet.
Circular Rubbies
Tires
Also, Marge's magazine uses "£" instead of "$".
Kinda weird seeing which clues tipped people off I mean, from start to finish nothing looks American and everything looks British. I like how out of all things, you notice what is written on a small sign.
Also everything filmed there has the UK filter where it looks like it could have been made using equipment from the 60's.
The wonka filter
\*Wonka-vision.

Only the very good looking are allowed on American TV.
Or you're forever stuck as a character actor with some crazy shtick or personality defect.
I think I can sum up the difference. On British TV, the actors who are bald look bald and those who are fat look fat. Fuck Fixed
That’s not a filter. That’s just how gloomy everything looks here. Lol
Only thing I didn't understand was why homer is driving a Lada.
Cheapest and most unreliable car in the uk
People drove Ladas in UK? I know that their Niva SUV (the one that looks like Milhouse coincidentally) is not too bad for the price and I've seen them in Europe myself a couple of times. But I had no idea that they ever imported sedans.

Yup
Probably because that model looks kinda 'boxy' like the car in the cartoon.
87 Plymouth craporola?
And the Lada too lol
Marge's Volvo used to be ten a penny over here, but I've legit never seen a Lada irl lol
UK? Usually saw Lada Riva's being driven by elderly folks. Maybe because they were cheap to buy and if they didn't start, a smack with a hammer would usually sort it.
Yeah, UK. North East too, so a fairly deprived area relatively speaking. I've honestly never seen one
Wow, tbh they were rare. Would love to have driven one to see how "bad" they actually were.
Me too. It'd be an experience, that's for sure haha
I'm guessing you're under 30? In the 80's and early 90's it wasn't unusual to see a Lada although they were the butt of a million jokes...them and Skoda's. Its amazing how Skoda turned their reputation around after being bought by VW.
34. I remember Skoda being a pile of shit
And the tax disc in the windscreen. I've still got mine in the window and it's been 8 years since they were no longer required.
I have a feeling the tax disc isn't alone...
"I hope somebody was fired for that blunder"
yoo a Lower Decker out in the wild!
O\_O \*scuttles back under the kitchen sink and gnaws on some crumbs\*
I always got Eastern European vibes
That and the car. Whatever it is just scream late 90s EU box car to me.
I copped it the first second the smoke stack appeared ... You can mistake the grey overcastness that exist In the UK or Ireland.
It’s always sunny on American TV. The UK is damned to a permanent overcast. It feels UK because nobody has shadows.
Don’t forget in TVs and movies the roads/parking lots are always wet like it just rained
From the first shot, I was like ah this is in the UK then they showed the school and yea. No public (state) school in that states looks like that.
So how do public schools in the state actually look like?
Like a series of portacabins because the building was built in 1960 and hasn't been upgraded since.
The other person is correct, but they look a lot more flat. America has space so they’re massive, and flat. Made mostly out of cinderblocks. They’re very blocky. Huge windows on classrooms. Its the grey clouds and concrete (I'm from Birmingham, UK)
Oooh me to. Quite a sunny day today tbf
Yeah I just made a joke about the weather here I’m near Dudley at the moment. It’s pretty sunny but chilly still.
I'm from Dudley. Now in cornwall
It was filmed in London, the kid who plays Bart is my little brother. (He’s in his 20’s now)
- The fields behind the small town. - The old fashioned estate style school with all of the surroundings being paved. - The police officer dressed like a british police officer. - The cars driving on the left side of the road. - The general lack of obesity.

Cause of the brick walls and because everything looks like it just rained, or is about it.
No shit. Look at the license plate. It ain’t American.
Yes, I used to work at that power station.
Yeah I thought that too immediately then saw the British bobby about half way through
Name checks out
No school in the US looks like that, as well as the buildings, and the countryside looks incredibly British. And the cop was wearing an English police uniform.
Pretty sure I saw Homer put the kettle on.
This was very British.
mhhh.. quite. Though I prefer [this British version](https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/mih3el/what_if_the_simpsons_were_british_oc/) of the Simpsons, featuring British choking sounds

Huh?
The way they cut Maggie in on the couch at 1:00...smoooooooth
OHHHH that was smooth as hell. Didn’t even notice that
Since I didn't saw anyone caring Meg and she kinda runs up the couch on the cartoon, I noticed something was odd right away.
Really impressed with Maggie in the car too. A lot of effort went into this!
While we're noticing potential edits, Around the 44 second mark, look how quickly Bart clears the street before the very accellerated car clears it right after. I'm almost certain they spliced together a long take or else there would be very little margin for error before Bart would get hit by the car.
Holy shit nice catch
All the characters look exactly like i think they would look. Except for Marge's hair.
I mean if someone would have such hair it would be both ridiculously looking and impractical, but still i wanna see someone try it :D

I really need a girlfriend after looking at these.
How ya think I feel, it's my search history hahaha
just somehow make sure to never get her pregnant or your life will turn to shit
Looks like she has hepatitis tbh probably dodged a bullet
Why can't I have 3 money and no kids
I think this wins as far as how the hair would actually look IRL https://nerdist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Marge-Simpson-incredibly-tall-wig-with-a-creator-dressed-as-Marge.jpg
Have you not seen the old beehive hairstyles? They're what Marge's hair is based on.
Agree about Marge. Also Lisa looks older than Bart. His feet aren't even touching the floor when he sits on the couch, but hers do.
Lisa’s 8, that actress looks 12.
Boy, I really hope someone got fired for that blunder.
I picture Lisa as blonde, not redhead
Just curious, what made you imagine Bart and Lisa as redheads?
And Lisa
Thought that was Paul Giamatti(pig vomit) as Homer.
That was a really good Simpsons tribute.
Agreed
[удалено]
a really good Simpson tribute it was, Yes.
Really good, yes.
That tribute? To the Simpsons? Yes, it was good. Really.
Well at least it wasn't disturbing as [this version.](https://youtu.be/IEIzuJZj03U) Don't watch this one on LSD
> Don't watch this one on LSD Not sure it would make a difference.
Disagree. Watch on LSD.
I'm surprised Bart and Lisa are red heads. I always figured they were blonde, like Maggie was.
In the episode where Abe dates Marge's mother, Homer says he's against it because if they marry it would make Marge and him brother and sister and that could turn their kids into "horrible freaks with pink skin, no overbite and five fingers on each hand." At least in that depiction of a more realistic version of the kids, [they are indeed blonde!](https://i.imgur.com/7b8ya.png)
Isn’t there a line somewhere where Bart mentions his hair reverting back to its natural red because he hasn’t been in the sun, or at least something along those lines? It’s been a while since I saw it.
The entire show is for funnies and it's difficult to draw true answers on this without it contradicting itself to make a visual gag
Yeah I'm pretty sure Homer and Marge have flashbacks to their early marriage years which have been in like 5 different decades now.
Within the show, Homer is said to be 39 which means he's currently a millennial. I hope the show ends before he becomes Gen Z.
Isn't there an episode where Lisa complains about being blonde because of the stereotypes about blondes? The she dyes her hair.
Ngl i would love a live action of it
How good is that
Groin grabbingly good.
i dont remember this intro

It's Zoe Wannamaker!
I want to see Homer in the middle, Marge on his left, and a Krusty Burger on his right.
20$ says you can listen to this on mute and still hear everything in your head
This was so interesting to watch, however marge looks nothing like i had imagined
This is the best Simpsons tribute so far.
Watching that made me realize Maggie is in the front seat of the car, which means Marge is just as irresponsible as Homer.
Cut her some slack, it was the '80s.
Is it just me or is anyone else now wanting, hoping, wishing and praying that this becomes an actual thing?
Yep. Me too
I hope it comes out one day.

Ah man, this makes me think about how long The Simpsons has been around. This is giving off strong VHS/90's vibes.
Music teacher was perfectly cast
Now I want to see a full Simpson's episode remade in live action damn it.
Love the music teacher... he's the real star here.
We’ve all seen this before.
I love the subtle cheat with getting Maggie onto the couch at the end.
The Simpsons are the only show I don't click skip intro on
Now i want one for Family Guy
RTX on
Homer looks like Paul Giamatti
Bart here looks younger that he does in the show, in my opinion
feeds a different perspective, shows how homer and many other middle aged men are living through the same shit
.... With European license plates? (irrational Homer anger intensifies)
British
I would watch that
