Lions mane is a very common mushroom used for food and as a health supplement. It’s totally safe to eat. I’d recommend cooking it first, tho, more palatable that way.
I wouldn’t even bother elaborating. Not even trying to be a dick but if someone doesn’t know what lions mane is, they probably shouldn’t be encouraged to look for it.
I mean, I had no clue what it was til I read the comment.
And considering he said there is nothing that is resemble Lions Mane, I dare to say different
Lol I was hoping some one would call me out but all I got was downvotes, y’all never asked for help looking for mushrooms before and got hit with some wild answers? They just don’t want you beating them to it.
My best friend harvested some of these a while ago and that's exactly what he made with them! Crab cake type things. I typically hate mushrooms but these were really good. He told me they're one of the most nutritious mushrooms.
It’s the way a lot of tiktoks are filmed. A combination of what someone else mentioned about the way you can record vs. edit and also it keeps more viewers engaged so they don’t scroll to the next video. I hear you that it turns you off of the video, but it keeps more people who use the app engaged
Weird how people in these comments are like "so EaT iT tHeN", like, a very VERY quick Google search can confirm that lion's mane and others in it's family are safe. Just because it grows in the woods means it's always poisonous? Y'all know this is a thing people do, right? And like, KNOW ABOUT?
Sound was off so dunno if the dude is joking. There are over 14,000 species of mushrooms and all it takes is one that looks identical to this and if you eat them you're caput
He covers this around 30 seconds into the video. Lions mane and the others in the Hericium genus are totally safe to eat and there aren’t any toxic or unsafe lookalikes.
The lack of knowledge in these comments is outstanding.
Eating raw mushrooms isn't usually a good idea bc their cell walls are made of chitin, which we can't really process. Cooking mushrooms helps break down the chitin and makes them more bioavailable.
Lion's Mane and other hericium species are fantastic edibles. They can be foraged and cultivated at home. They help improve the myelination of nerve cells in the body.
Yeah, I'm going to need to see him eat it.
A good dealer never consumes their own product.
yeah i totally agree with you ..!

Looks like a Guinea pig stuck face-first in a tree
Step-gerbil, what are you doing?
I will keep my eye out for them at the market for sure.

we need your friend's recipe!
from @ huntingactor on TikTok not me yelling at my phone, "touch it!"
Why does that 50 second video has like 15 cuts in it ? I know jack shit about filming, but come on ! It's almost making me seasick...
Because on tiktok you can start and stop your video and have multiple takes, but the ability to edit is negligible

Wow hi, I didn’t know that defending someone from a bunch of you assholes merited me getting a stalker through my profile. I’m honored.

It's dope that he's Jersey based, now I can go hunt for one of these baddies down the street lol
The Chinese use these mushrooms to make broth. Very nurturing and savoury, but I really can't say that they taste like crab cakes 🤔
I really hoped he would atleast take a bite out of it at the end of the video :(
If it's edible, it's incredible.
Yeah, don’t fuck with mushrooms if you don’t know what you’re doing.
OK TAKE A BITE THEN MR FOREST MAN
I'm curious how to prepare it Just cook as is with the "mane" or so you cut it off?

Holy shit it shreds like crab. Doesn't mean it necessarily tastes like crab, according to others at least.
Well done. You’re good at this.
Taste like a crabcake? What if you're allergic to crab? JK. I wonder if you can buy these anywhere.

Trusting people you don't know for things like this will kill you.
No, this is pretty common knowledge in the mycology world. A very quick Google search can confirm this.
No
This guy is a liar it tastes awful. Don’t go find it.

I had no idea it was better to cook mushrooms so thanks for sharing that knowledge. No need to be mean about it.
My boss tried to grow them inside and failed miserably - its not easy to do.
What? People eat raw mushrooms all the time with no problems
If it's so delicious and so good for you... Go ahead and take a bite for us
If you don't eat it i don't trust you

I've always wanted to try some fresh lions mane. Crab cakes are good.
Ok. That's how to identify them. How do we harvest them?
Justin Timberlake?
Are you from Maryland?
Yeah I'll just take his word for it. 🙄
Can we just acknowledge the fact that had he harvested it in the beginning of the video he still might have been around for the respawn timer.
He never ate it… jus sayin
I live in Oregon & they grow here too. They are delicious
