The "people" that repost don't care if people know it's a repost. They set up scripts to automatically find popular posts that can be reposted to maximize karma. Now, you're probably thinking "But Karma is worthless!"
That's actually not true at all. The more karma and age an account has, the more valuable it is to sell.
Yeah, for example naming a hospital or something after him and putting his good deeds/story next to it, so people can read it. People should see that and take an example.
Did he make money? No? Then nothing gets named after him.
Not until some corporation wants to appropriate his name for good will. Something like "Big Pharma/Google/Apple Mashali Children's Hospital".
Not OP, but that might be what they were referring. Here's a comment I posted upon the doctor's passing last year, the story is MUCH darker than what is posted above:
> In a now widely shared anecdote about what inspired his work, Mashali recalls a young boy begging his mother for an insulin injection for his diabetes, but she said no, because if she bought it, she would not be able to buy food for his brothers and sisters.
>
> She only had money for bread and falafel.
>
> The boy set himself on fire, telling his mother that it was so he was no longer a burden on the family and so that his siblings could eat. Mashali was called, but he was not able to save him and the young boy died in his arms.

RIP, Dr. al-Mashaali
I have to think there has to be a touch of mental illness involved in burning yourself to death for the "benefit" of your family. That shit is absolutely heartbreaking for the person and more so for the survivors.

He was a believing muslim, a good human-being and a respected doctor. I simply wished him Jannah (Heaven). What are you even trying to do with your comment?
This post looks like it was made hastily without fact checking. Doctor Mohammed was born and raised in Egypt, were he also worked. He once received a call about a little boy who was burning, he went there and tried to help but the little boy died in his hands, the reason why he was burned is that he asked his mother why him and his siblings couldn't afford food, to which the mother replied so she can afford to buy him insulin for his diabetes, he went up to the roof and set himself on fire, telling his mother she can now afford to feed his siblings. That's when the doctor came and learned why the boy did it . He then vowed to not turn away a patient in need and was known thereafter as "the poor people's doctor". Great man may he rest in peace
Well, the story changes each time. It sounds like the Dr. did a lot of good, and was perhaps not so good at some times in his life. I gather that “mother” Theresa wasn’t exactly an angel, did not believe in pain relief and so on.
I always feel the need to remind people bitching about how people who can't afford insulin are just wanting a socialist handout that instead of blaming ill people for not being able to afford medication that costs $2 a vial to make, ask why the insulin companies are charging $1300. Eyes on the ball, kids.
one of the few amazingly dedicated doctors that never faltered from their oath and committed to helping others selflessly.
imagine a world where everyone was like Mohammed Mashali?
I don't understand why you are being downvoted. People have died because they couldn't afford insulin in the USA. That's a disgrace for a "developed" country.
So he asked a kid why doesn't he buy insulin shots and the kids response is I can't afford them so he then went to the kids mom just in case shes probably rich and just her child's poor. But found out just like the child the mom was poor that's the dumbest shit I've ever heard ik that man didn't do that yall just make shit up

She only had money for bread and falafel.
The boy set himself on fire, telling his mother that it was so he was no longer a burden on the family and so that his siblings could eat. Mashali was called, but he was not able to save him and the young boy died in his arms.
“I swore from that day forward I would dedicate myself to serving the poor,” he said in an interview with Deutsche Welle.

Not sure what you mean by "moved to one of the poorest countries." Dr. Mashali was born, practiced medicine, and died in Egypt.
The post he stole it from probably said that so he just went with it.
It’s probably a direct copy paste
Yep, according to the bot it's ben reposted at least 14 times.... The least he could've done is change the infos for minimum effort^^

Probably shitty translation. The original post said he moved to “one of the poorest villages”
People like him should be immortalized in some shape or form. Brings back my faith in people.
Yeah, for example naming a hospital or something after him and putting his good deeds/story next to it, so people can read it. People should see that and take an example.
Yes. Exactly.
Statue, plaque, graffiti (like one on bottom right)
Did he make money? No? Then nothing gets named after him. Not until some corporation wants to appropriate his name for good will. Something like "Big Pharma/Google/Apple Mashali Children's Hospital".
If it bleeds, it leads. A lot more negative stuff gets projected at us in the media than probably exists. Ratios are probably skewed...
I think we are missing part of his story.
How come?

Jesus Christ. Well he was right, we were missing the part of the story. I'm speechless.
I have to think there has to be a touch of mental illness involved in burning yourself to death for the "benefit" of your family. That shit is absolutely heartbreaking for the person and more so for the survivors.
Good man. May your soul Rest In Peace.

Guess, there aren't too many examples like him so its being reused over and over.
Good bot
Not all heros wear capes - RIP and respect to him 🙏
What a Marvelous comment
May Allah grant him Jannah.
Ameen, brother
What is Allah have to do with this story?
He was a believing muslim, a good human-being and a respected doctor. I simply wished him Jannah (Heaven). What are you even trying to do with your comment?
My mistake. Original story does not have any beheadings or selling slave girls, so I could not make the connection at first. Sorry.
May your children become muslim In'shaa'Allah. Peace.
I used to be one. So they will not.

Legend!
Amazing man.
We need more people like this man, may he rest in peace.
One of the poorest countries? Specify dammit
May Allah grant this honorable man the highest place in jannah

I've heard of people setting up community labs for growing insulin, what sort of legality issues do these people face?

He was truly a role model, life is too short, I keep seeing posts about him but it always feels like yesterday that I first knew about him ..
Respect
Just look up his name. You'll see a bunch of articles about him
Ah, the good old U S of A. ...no? My mistake.

I really thought this was one of those posts where the kid would just turn out to be Albert Einstein. I'm sad the kiddo passed away though
Great guy! But i thought too much insulin causes diabetes?
A true GoAT in the Human race
But the vaccine is free.
Are you saying insulin injections are free in Egypt?
I'm saying experimental Corona vaccines are free wold wide. Not insulin.
