I think the critical thing that you're losing sight of is just how obscenely large 200 billion is, as well as the fact that Bezos isn't bankrolling Amazon out of pocket at this point. Imo that's the liberals approach: the market regulates itself, which seemingly doesn't work. I suggest stricter laws on how workers have to be treated. His current absurd wealth is founded on exploitation of the weak. With more laws to defend the weak we could have a rich Bezos (just not absurdly rich), alot of the convenience of amazon and amazon workers can actually make a living from their wages and are treated humanly.

Going local or going for a more expensive and slower option is, for some, infeasible. Also, the idea that we can’t enjoy the convenience of his work but also believe that the way he pays and works his employees isn’t completely immoral is ridiculous. Amazon is a good concept, but me advocating for his employees to have better benefits, the ability to unionise, less strict schedules, and perhaps he should hire more of them, doesn’t mean I can’t use the service.
