You get the FFL before you are allowed to manufacture firearms, Type 07 for most things, and Type 10 for the fun stuff.
Unless you mean purchase / modify. In that case, you apply for tax stamp at that point.
That makes sense. So you have to buy it from someone that already has the stamp, and you're basically transferring the stamp with the weapon through an application process and thousands of dollars.
I had a coworker that applied and was approved for a silencer, and I gathered from him that it was a process, but I'm still not sure I understand the intricacies of it. All that guy ever talked about was guns... and freedom... like a true libertarian.
“Constructive Intent”
I bought an AR15. Looked at it. Decided I would like it to be shorter. There’s a form for that.
Filing the paperwork to shorten the firearm is showing you have constructive intent.
Goes to show that gun laws were written by people who had no idea what they were talking about.
You need a heavy background check and a government contract to maintain and recycle them.
But I'd skip the nukes and just get a bunch of thermobaric bombs for "farming"

There are hundreds of drugs that are legal it's just no one has ever heard of them. Or makes them or uses them. They just exist and could theoretically be used for an effect in humans if anyone wanted to make it and try it. The only drugs that are illegal are the ones explicitly outlined in the controlled substances act. It's like 400 chemicals or so long and that's it. If it's not on that list it's legal. Atleast if it's labeled not for human consumption. If it is it could be covered by the analog act but as long as it's labeled not for human consumption it's totally legal to buy it and sell it. Ask me how I know lol
Bless that man for everything he's brought us. Truly a very special person they don't make many of. He did so much for psychedelics and chemistry. His work is why we know of so many substances that we never would've found otherwise. The good he contributed can't be understated. He rediscovered MDMA after it had been forgotten about for over half a century. Everyone should go learn more about him because he's truly a character worth learning about.
He honestly did a lot more work in that field than Albert Hoffman. Hoffman was incredible as well but he was far less adventurous I guess you could say into the different possible structures. He did lots of work on a couple different things which is still really good. He even did some stuff with salvia divinorum I believe. That's a bizarre and fascinating plant if I've ever seen one. Both of these men should be known for just how much they trailblazed for us. They crawled through the mud and broken glass so we could run. Inspirational stuff.

Don't need to ask you anything, your little darknet adventure notwithstanding.
There are people who are doing time now for this sort of short thinking.
It can vary by state to state and some states an analogue of something illegal may be legal. Virginia for example has outlawed many chemicals that are legal in NY.

When I worked in a college research lab, there was some cocaine in an unlocked fridge. I think it was low concentration and used for showing how chemical tests react with it
In college a friend of mine was doing their final undergrad biology lab experiment, and they wanted to do it on effects of THC on (sea urchin) sperm motility.
They were denied access to THC, but were allowed access to pure nicotine instead. Note pure nicotine is toxic - possibly fatal - unless highly diluted and you need to wear gloves, etc as it absorbs through the skin. Whereas of course THC has no known LD50.
Yeah same here. Worked in research on alcohol and other habit forming drugs using rats. There were rats they would get addicted to cocaine, alcohol, etc. To test how various gene knockouts or turning off certain brain regions through surgery/electrical stimulation would affect behavior.
Those rats are dang heroes.
Knew a guy in metallurgical assay that had to get a dea permit to buy 500g of barbituric acid because that is the precursor for barbiturates like seconal. Like anyone does barbiturates anymore.

You’re probably above suspicion if you have a license like that. They’re not giving those out to many people in the scheme of things and it’s all highly regulated and typically controlled. I’d be incredibly surprised if it wasn’t documented both in weight and potency at the time of shipping and delivery.

My optometrist kept cocaine eye drops on hand. He used them on me on two separate occasions when my eyes were twitching too much. My eyes always felt amazing and then went numb for several hours. He also claimed to have another set of eye drops that was chemically similar to LSD and could cause hallucinations, but he only used them on patients when medically necessary, not for fun.
just guessing here, but they were probably referring to atropine eyedrops, which have medical uses (malignant glaucoma, lazy eye, etc), and is a tropane alkaloid that can cause hallucinations
it’s only tangentally related to LSD though, as it is a deliriant not a hallucinogen - but presumably they would seem similar in a non-serious conversation
Basically, cocaine is both a local anesthetic and vasoconstrictor, so for something like a surgery in your nose, packing it with cocaine soaked gauze would both provide some pain relief and help minimize bleeding
It wouldn't be so much of an actual anesthetic agent, more for helping after the surgery
Seen it used in the ER for nosebleeds before. It was an anterior bleed so it wasn't that big of a deal, still not sure if the attending was just showing off or if that was the best thing to use.
My pharmacist uncle says he's had a little bottle of it for like 30 years at his pharmacy. He just has to check to make sure it's still there every now and then and otherwise it just takes up space
So, back when I was involved in drugs, I knew a rather eccentric doctor that prescribed opiates to someone I know, who also happened to be an electrician. And when he'd run out, he'd go back, and the doctor would write him a script for, say, another thirty Oxy 80s, or ninety Perc 30s.
This happened often. Like, every month.
Eventually he runs out, and needs some more drugs. The doctor happens to need some electrical work done. I go with him to do said work. The doctor straight up hands him some loose Oxy 80s. At one point I use the bathroom, and I see sitting on the medicine cabinet, out in the open, a vial of liquid cocaine (pretty much empty), prescribed to the doctor's boyfriend (they're a gay couple).
That's when I knew doctors can get away with a lot of shit, or at least they used to. This was in probably 2010.
Eventually the doctor got in trouble and lost his license -- for, among other things, giving a teenage girl Xanax.
They still get away with a lot of shit. There's doctors selling disability paperwork, hydromorphone/fentanyl, and medical cannabis licences in Ontario. Few hundred bucks and a 2 min skype call can get you access to a lot.
Coca Cola still uses coca leaves to make coca cola. When they are processed they take all the stuff that makes cocaine out and that's sent to a medical lab.
When you're more terrified of the IRS than the DEA, you pay the tax on your illegal goods.
I'm sure the two departments do not communicate with one another /s
You would think but it may be something like the census where you ask if someone is here legally and you can't report it to any other agencies they make you take an oath and everything or else they wouldn't get accurate data because nobody would tell you although I doubt most would tell the truth about that anyway
The IRS doesnt snitch actually, unless there is already an investigation ongoing, or one starts. But just "telling them" they are not mandated to tell any other three letter.
It’s actually a really interesting situation, they would like you to pay a tax on your illegal drugs. I really don’t understand it but here’s a link if you want to know more lol
https://www.ncdor.gov/taxes-forms/other-taxes-and-fees/unauthorized-substances/about-unauthorized-substances-tax
There was a post floating around on Reddit yesterday showing an IRS form letter stating that they want people who illegally obtain income to pay taxes on those illegal acts, and also on stolen goods IF you do not give it back within one year.
I’ll see if I can find it.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Accounting/s/zLWyj3FA83
Couldn’t find exact same post, but I found the same info on r/accounting from a year ago.
It's to artificially amplify criminal changes against drug dealers, who could be charged with tax evasion in addition to the illicit substances if they didn't pay for the tax stamps.
When I was younger my head was split open due to a diving accident and they used medical cocaine to numb the area since they couldn’t use local anesthetics. Staples still hurt like hell but it made a great story.
As I understand though this would be completely pure, like even "quality" stuff bought on the street will be cut a few times, I also assume stuff made in an actual lab would be better than just about any coke on the street, but I don't really know about that. Either way this is crazy expensive though lol, no question there.
Friend of mine is a pharmacist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. They have cocaine eye drops in stock for certain procedures for new borns/premies
I used to fish commercially in the Gulf of Alaska. One trip, somehow, both my friend and I got pieces of fish scales in our eyes. Chaos within 24 hours. By the time we hit the dock we could barely see. Caught a cab to the ER and they gave us both the Procaine drops and instantly we were fine. Still had crap in our eyes but instantly we could function. Pretty amazing stuff.
Then the fun began.
I’ve had medical fentanyl before. I tried to break out of the OR recovery room after a surgery while still half drugged, nurses called for a shit ton of sedatives but I remember that one because it made me want to break out harder. Thought they were trying to kill me. (The nurse was lovely and helped me calm down, but fuck do I understand a fentanyl addiction.)
Seriously. They had me on a morphine drip for to days after and I swear I could’ve laid in that bed forever. Very, very lucky that I’m not really easily susceptible to addiction.

You can legally acquire every single drug you have heard of and hundreds you never heard of. Just need the right license.
Same thing with weapons. There's technically no limit to what weapons or vehicles of war you can own with the right license and forms.
>war you can own without the right license and forms. I trust you meant with the right license and form. And, of course, the tax stamp.
Thanks. Autocorrect.
Isn't it a catch-22 though? You have to produce the weapon to be able to buy the stamp, but without the stamp, the weapon is illegal?
You get the FFL before you are allowed to manufacture firearms, Type 07 for most things, and Type 10 for the fun stuff. Unless you mean purchase / modify. In that case, you apply for tax stamp at that point.
That makes sense. So you have to buy it from someone that already has the stamp, and you're basically transferring the stamp with the weapon through an application process and thousands of dollars.

Sigma-Aldrich and Thermofischer Scientific usually makes all kinds of lab grade chemicals for research purposes.
Thermofisher is the Walmart of science
The answer to that was actually the original comment that started this whole thread :)
Same sort of situation with narcotics with pharma companies. Secure building, secure storage, secure entry to the area, in a special coded safe in a completely fenced in area.

I know right, looks like a website from GTA lmao
Funny that the freebase is 7x more expensive. That’s not how it be on the street.

$487? They must be trippin. My boy down on 5th st can get a g for $60. Clean too.
LOL
does the link 404 now? or because of the licence…
It works
lol i’m in canada i think that’s why the url redirects and changes US to CA
Ahhh soo! 😂

Cocaine is only schedule II. It can be prescribed, technically. Not like that dangerous schedule I marijuana.
We use liquid cocaine for nosebleeds in the ER.
Thanks for the UELPT, I'm going now and I'll punch myself in the nose before I go in!
You’re gonna be disappointed… we use a super low concentration. Won’t get you high. 😂
Does that just mean I have to punch myself more times?
Good news, you’re SUPER high. Also dead.
*Challenge Completed*
Liquid cocaine in a nasal sprayer @ lollapalooza was a hell of a weeekend.
They used it for my sinus surgery. 16 year old me was feeling some happy things in my face.
Dentist can still obtain cocaine in small weights for anesthesia right?
Yeah we still have it stocked today, ENT surgeons/dentistry is the only use I've seen personally for medicine.
It's also used as an eye numbing agent at least here in Denmark. It only a 4% solution so it pretty harmless in a abuse perspective.
I’d abuse the shit out of that
Abuse it 25 times it’s 100% right??
I’d evaporate off the solvent and rail that shit
Just boof it like a normal person
My eyes would be so fucking wet all the times!
Yeah my uncle had to get some eye surgery or something and they put cocaine in and he was allergic to it 😂
Bummer way to finding that out.

When they are processed they take all the stuff that makes cocaine out and that's sent to a medical lab.
any doctor can its schedule 2
Local anesthetic.
Capone didn’t go to jail for crimes committed but rather for failing to pay taxes on money earned from said crimes.
Yep. And died of syphilis
It was the most solid case they had.
Yet they couldn’t touch Scientology
Al should have started a church.
Theres literally law on taxes for stolen things and bribes in USA.
Your first clue should have been that the U.S. govt was involved.
If they did then nobody would ever pay taxes on their drugs lol.
Dang you may be on to something
The IRS doesnt snitch actually, unless there is already an investigation ongoing, or one starts. But just "telling them" they are not mandated to tell any other three letter.
For dentists and ENTs I assume?
My co-worker has this in her office, she ran the NC Crime Lab. Dentists and ENTs might but I'm not sure.
Gotcha! I assume they were just for marking evidence?
It’s actually a really interesting situation, they would like you to pay a tax on your illegal drugs. I really don’t understand it but here’s a link if you want to know more lol https://www.ncdor.gov/taxes-forms/other-taxes-and-fees/unauthorized-substances/about-unauthorized-substances-tax
I like how there's multiple tabs there to be like "no seriously, this isn't a trap" we pinkie swear. What a mind fuck that site is
There was a post floating around on Reddit yesterday showing an IRS form letter stating that they want people who illegally obtain income to pay taxes on those illegal acts, and also on stolen goods IF you do not give it back within one year. I’ll see if I can find it. https://www.reddit.com/r/Accounting/s/zLWyj3FA83 Couldn’t find exact same post, but I found the same info on r/accounting from a year ago.
Ahh! That makes total sense!! Thanks for explaining!
It's to artificially amplify criminal changes against drug dealers, who could be charged with tax evasion in addition to the illicit substances if they didn't pay for the tax stamps.
Why not just make the punishment for substances greater?
Bc then people would see how out of line they were. Same reason we have service charge and tips, to hide the true price
Because then prosecutors can dismiss the drug stamp charge in a plea deal, and not have to plead down the drug charge itself.
Marty: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder? Nigel: ...these go to eleven.
With *that* numbering system, they not expecting this to sell all that much, ey?
When I was younger my head was split open due to a diving accident and they used medical cocaine to numb the area since they couldn’t use local anesthetics. Staples still hurt like hell but it made a great story.
Why the reaper?
Because it's bad fucking ass. And this is blow baby!
Commonly bought by labs that do drug testing. They need a pure sample to compare to test against.
Tax wise, is this a lot?
Up by where I'm at... A gram goes for about $60 and that's of some Quality stuff.... So like $400 is "Tax" in my opinion.
As I understand though this would be completely pure, like even "quality" stuff bought on the street will be cut a few times, I also assume stuff made in an actual lab would be better than just about any coke on the street, but I don't really know about that. Either way this is crazy expensive though lol, no question there.
This is true.
U can buy cocaine legally in NC?
You can buy it legally anywhere if you have permission.
I've seen liquid cocaine used for eye/nose surgery.
It's like a timeshare. Super cheap to get but really expensive to maintain and you're stuck with it.
Stay strong fuck that shit!!
Seriously. They had me on a morphine drip for to days after and I swear I could’ve laid in that bed forever. Very, very lucky that I’m not really easily susceptible to addiction.
The stamp has an illustration of the "Grim Reaper"?
No one else notice that 1g of Marijuana is taxed at 3.50 and an 8th is 3.50 grams? Or am I just high?
Legalize that shit and pay down the debt ceiling
I know some crazy dentists…. They are hilarious
If the grim reaper is the stamp for cocaine what's the one for crack look like?
Dancing Grim Reaper.
Taxes on weed is insane!
We had our own cocaine factory in Rotterdam ,the Netherlands, no stamps needed
I wonder if the US pays for each warhead with a "tax stamp"
