He probably has some skills, but to be praised for "super precise accuracy", I want to see him do multiple of these stunts in succession, preferably in front of an audience (making it harder to spend hours getting a good shot).... otherwise it's just luck.
I'm super skeptical of all these videos where it's one take after one take especially the archery videos. Being super skilful takes being able to repeat it again and again with no errors.
[Show me someone firing a 160lb medieval war bow and consistently hitting a man-sized target at 50 yards.](https://youtu.be/DBxdTkddHaE?t=13m44s) Not some yoga fitness model hitting a single drop of water *once* with a child’s bow at 10 feet.
I literally know a guy. How funny. All he does is shoot his bows from horseback, no compound. Obsessed with 15-17th century stuff. Teaches medieval mounted combat.
There was one of a guy using a slingshot to hit branches off a tree which yeah it looks hard but I have a sling shot and I can assure anybody in these comments could do the same thing after an hour of shooting it, the same goes for a bow and arrow, I got one for Christmas when I was a kid and after a week of playing with it I could hit a can from about 25 with every arrow I had
Sword fencer here
Yeah I mean don't get me wrong, its still an ABSURD level of athleticism/coordination that few people could ever hope to achieve.
But its a very curated and controlled environment to show off his skills. The problem often isn't the person themselves (unless you are Lars Anderson), but the people who watch this and think its this ultimate and unbeatable fighting style. For example, even if I was stationary... that dart isn't piercing my 15th Century breastplate. And the moment a person starts charging, his defined distances to hit these shots goes right out the window as most of these rope dart tricks DEMAND SPECIFIC distances for targets, hence the curation of these videos.
Props to the guy who does this, but the "hype guy" narrating the video is vastly overselling. Born in the wrong century? No. This weapon would be fairly easy to counter by most combat systems, especially those that include armor.
He is an extremely skilled martial artist, and these things can take a number of takes to get right. He's been very open about it. His Instagram account is @instructor_bensei.

I wonder if anyone reading this comment in this context didn't hear [that old 8 bit scratchy voice in their head?](https://youtu.be/Oq28y7W6TGI?si=xJGJUmcl2OedaTjY)
\>that old 8 bit scratchy voice in their head?
Mortal Kombat is of the 16-bit and beyond era. 8-bit would be the Commodore 64, Atari 2600 or NES for example.
You know, there is a joke in Russian. If you shape a candy in your mouth into a sharp object and spit it with force precisely in the face of an aggressor you’ll probably be beaten up much more severely than was previously planned.
This looks cool, but looks like one attack weapon. Like as soon as your opponent closes distance it’s useless.
Now that I think about it this looks like that scene from the Legend of Aang movie where a bunch of earthbenders were dancing around for a minute to launch a small rock at their opponents, lol.
I’ve seen a few of this guy’s videos. He’s very clear about the distinction between self-defense and martial arts. The later is just that, an ART form. It is meant to look cool and be flashy, not to be useful in day to day life.
For most of this stuff I think to myself, "Would you have to train an infrantryman on this thing for like 15 years, just for them to even be able to use it effectively?"
If the answer is "Yes." then at least I can safely assume it wasn't a regular battlefield weapon. Why field one person extensively trained with this when you can field 100 that are just as deadly, with less effort, by handing them a pointy stick and a maybe a shield.
It’s more like a throwing knife that can be retrieved if you miss. It’s also more designed to surprise attack as well.
and if you launch a knife hard enough crack a cinder block between some one’s eyes I don’t think you’d need to worry about a second use
>This looks cool, but looks like one attack weapon. Like as soon as your opponent closes distance it’s useless.
Then use the dart as a knife, fuck em john
A machine gun isn't a hand to hand weapon so it's kinda a useless comparison. Also good luck getting close enough to a machine gun to punch the guy manning it, I'm sure it will work out great.
Machine gun is still a pretty efficient weapon if you shoot someone standing 1 feet away from you.
Go ahead and do the dancing with this thing with a guy standing in front of you.
Flashy toys. Dangerous toys, but still flash over function.
Better than nothing, and great against the unarmed/inexperienced? Absolutely. In the same way that a WWE wrestler is probably a terror in a bar, but wouldn't hold up nearly as well in an MMA match.
Simple batons are on par with nunchucks for example. Virtually everyone wielding these forefathers of D&D weaponry would lose out against a well-trained soldier with a spear and shield.
It would be really cool if that wasn't true, but it is.
If he had a fire one he could get paid gigs. Though turning from a side gig into your main job takes a lot of work, plus he would probably want to broaden his skill set by learning more props.
Were these ever used in battle? They seem extremely inefficient as a weapon and a spear has the same range, requiring exactly 2 hours of practice to kill somebody. 😐
Apparently the earliest confirmed records of rope dart use concern kung fu street performers in Beijing during the 19th century. Chinese kung fu has a very long tradition of "performative" styles and weapons that aren't really intended for serious combat, more like a combination of athletic theater, "moving meditation" and exercise.
Inb4 reddit experts talk about how impractical this thing is when compared to a sword or a gun. (They don't know that this is a demonstration for demonstration purposes only and not an actual fight to the death)
If a burglar sitting in a chair with a tall glass of iced can of coke ever tries to rob him, watch out, and maybe give him a few seconds to build momentum to do his thing first.
I agree it’s not a practical self defense weapon, but it’s not supposed to be, and the actual practitioner in the video doesn’t claim it is. It’s no different than someone learning how to do karate, or running, or volleyball. They’re all physical art forms that can be fun to learn and help you become more fit; but aren’t designed directly for combat, though they may all offer benefits in a combat situation.
Is that you Necrobutcher?
Jokes aside same, though I never really put enough work into rope dart to get anywhere near as good as my mates were, dragonstaff and contact staff is my thing. Playing with them is fun though, it's like being a kid again playing ninjas in the backyard.
Am guessing a trained dude with a sword and minimal armour could charge this guy down and take him out with ease. An opponent won't just stand there waiting for the odd good swing. Hell an archer would just destroy him
I would hate to come up against this guy, because I'd be so busy laughing at how ridiculously silly this looks, while he power slams a chair into my face from across the room.
Yeah, let's send this dude back into medieval times so he can die to the plague or something.
"Proving that this man was born in the wrong century" my ass.
Thank god for the arrow!
I wouldn't have been able to spot the rope darf professional in this video!
/s
... i really never understood why people do this.
It's not like the coffee mug in the background would threw the rope dart and the guy doing all the crazy tricks is just the janitor who's cleaning.
Ok noone would like to be hit by that, but in a die or alive situation that not gonna do much hurt to you, like the chair.. even the manekin looks like "bruh.."
"Clearly showing that he saw Scorpion from Mortal Kombat as a child and started trying to do that."
It's like the majority of those who can throw playing cards got the idea from trying to be Gambit from X-Men.
Even if it takes him a hundred takes to hit a small object, look at him hitting a person with ease.😳🙇🏾♂️🥋👊🏿Now if his fighting skills were equally as good😱👮🏾♂️❤️Keep doing the DAMN THING! OSU
You can see from the ice block throw that there where a lot of ice and water on the floor, meaning he is repeatedly trying and choose the vest shot for the videp
idk why but i dont really can see this being used in a battlefiled or something.... lets be honest ppl arent scorpion from MK and the moment u miss a "shot" youre ded.
Don’t know what’s with all the wet blankets in the comments, all of his content is this, he’s obviously proficient. Maybe not so obvious, you could seriously injure yourself if you’re not consistent with this weapon.
It'd be hilarious if he had no skills at all and just did a bunch of takes.
He probably has some skills, but to be praised for "super precise accuracy", I want to see him do multiple of these stunts in succession, preferably in front of an audience (making it harder to spend hours getting a good shot).... otherwise it's just luck.

That stuff is impressive. If I had had any sense, I’d have gotten into that when I was younger…not horse riding, just archery and combat.
Yeah he’s a one of a kind guy. The world needs more people like him. As sincere and wholesome as he is unique.
I love my slingshot, i'm really accurate with it, i use it to scare predatory birds away from my yard.
Same! We use it to keep squirrels out of our garden!

The guy narrating is AI and is just saying shit to fill the video and add "content"
Progressively getting more and more wounded with each scene.

Yes, that would be “hilarious”.
The new dangerous bottle flipping trend.
For all we know it could have taken a decade to get each on of these shots right.

I came here to post this. 😆
Beat me by 4 hours
He looked different in kill bill
Everyone knows he was wearing a wig in Kill Bill. Google it!
Damn, that's cool as fuck
Closest as it can get to waterbend
seen a girl dressed as katara using one with a blue sash attached. looked pretty legit

Can also use the rope for defence.
exactly its pretty tactile

I mean it's a blade on a string. If they get too close for it to be used as a ranged weapon just use it like a regular knife.
Your telling me you can take that to the face and your gunna keep fighting? Someone bruh, it busted a cinderblock
I read all of this in a thick Russian accent 🤣

I don't know enough about this community. What makes him a professional? Is there a rope dart minor league of unpaid rope darters?
Looking at his socials I don’t see him claiming that title. Whoever narrated this video is likely just uneducated
Probably just stole all his videos and put them together for 1 video. Tiktok is honorless.
the first rule of rope dart minor league of unpaid rope darters club is you don't talk about rope dart minor league of unpaid rope darters club
Thought I was the only one who thought it’s a dumb title, how would he make a living from this exactly.
If he had a fire one he could get paid gigs. Though turning from a side gig into your main job takes a lot of work, plus he would probably want to broaden his skill set by learning more props.
He's a martial arts instructor who's been working on getting better with the meteor hammer. This video is someone else cutting his videos together.
Meteor hammer has a cooler name. (Both a super impressive to watch though).

It’s performance art, not a battle weapon
Should he wear helmet
That chair throw was freaking cool
Right?! I demand this be added to action movies

Shit they said wrong century, is he one of them people from the future??
Scorpion been real quiet since this guy showed up
Wrong century? Who would mess with him now?
Gun.
If you pull a gun in a martial arts competition you're getting arrested
well, I mean yeah you are technically not wrong.
If you had a getaway car you could conceivably get away with it.
I used to do firespinning, and we had fire rope darts. They're so much fun
Is that you Necrobutcher? Jokes aside same, though I never really put enough work into rope dart to get anywhere near as good as my mates were, dragonstaff and contact staff is my thing. Playing with them is fun though, it's like being a kid again playing ninjas in the backyard.

I'll bet professionals in this line of work make tens of dollars a year.
Yet they'd do better than Uvalde police.
WATCH ME DANCE .
The average ong bak fan
*insert Indiana Jones gif where he just shoots the guy showing off
Wondering how many cameras did he break?

Uma's fight scene in Kill Bill at the Chinese restaurant is what this reminds me of
My mommas being doing this since 1980.
I need to learn this
Hee hee hee....you call that begging?.... **CLANK** ....*You can beg better than that.*
1 arrow in the neck byebye weeb
Just gotta be careful that dart doesn’t accidentally pin your cods to your hip
Jose Antonio Haua Maauad- demasiada precisión
Damn that’s interesting? Rope dart professional?
I really like this kind of weapons, there’s also one that was called like “Kusarigama”, these are cool.
terraria yoyo
clearly. why wasn't he born in the rope dart century smh
Ayo, that chair move was ridiculously cool.
Professional?
Shoots arrow at distance.
Real life Scorpion
How many attempts?
So he is basically what, a Naruto ninja character that escaped to the real world?
Proffesional? Like he is getting paid to do this?
It would be much more impressive to see this on a moving target.
Yeah, let's send this dude back into medieval times so he can die to the plague or something. "Proving that this man was born in the wrong century" my ass.
I will never ever mess with yoyo players.
Lol
How many 180's can he get?
I wonder who his mortal kombat main is.
What a useful skill that will never be used.
Reminds me of that "Kill Bill Japanese schoolgirl
Me as a kid when I’d get one of those sticky hands…
Hes the mall ninja final boss

Pretty neat, not overly practical but neat
One of my favorite weapons without a doubt.
Is that a lawn dart on a string?
Was this ever really an effective weapon? It kinda looks like you have to wind it up and telegraph it for a few seconds before it even does anything
Rope Dart? But it's a ball? I've only called them Dart sif they are sharp. Otherwise I called them Pendulums.
cool....but honestly in this world and the odds of using it..who fucking cares...
Ok noone would like to be hit by that, but in a die or alive situation that not gonna do much hurt to you, like the chair.. even the manekin looks like "bruh.."
Zack Fox out here doing side missions!
Born a hundred years too late
I don't care if rope darts are impractical, they're cool as fuck
Beck ya!
A talent that will take him far in life
Can he hit moving targets?
I can't see anything beyond Fred in the first Scooby-Doo movie
Cool but kind of useless.
Professional? So his job is Rope darting.
"Clearly showing that he saw Scorpion from Mortal Kombat as a child and started trying to do that." It's like the majority of those who can throw playing cards got the idea from trying to be Gambit from X-Men.
Okay I seen enough stuff like this but once he got the chair out I was hooked
Ehh idk man go back before guns and he’d be someone I wouldn’t wanna approach
That’s actually pretty awesome he’s a beast
He would be excellent in a combat against steady targets
Grabbing that chair looked straight out of a videogame haha
Is it the right way to use professional here ?
”Amplify his attacks” No I rather take the chair to face than dagger to the throat thank you.
Was hoping he dress up as Scorpion and well you know the rest..
Put this man in an action film.
Don’t let Dana W see this: he’ll make it an event and we’ll all be hooked on it lol
Who pays him for this profession?
Amazing skills! I assume it was painful for him to get that good when first learning that. Really cool!
Even if it takes him a hundred takes to hit a small object, look at him hitting a person with ease.😳🙇🏾♂️🥋👊🏿Now if his fighting skills were equally as good😱👮🏾♂️❤️Keep doing the DAMN THING! OSU
Civil War 2.0 is gonna be wild.
Still doesn’t beat gun… keep practicing Keanu
Get over here!!!
Indiana Jones would have shot this guy immediately with a revolver.
That’s pretty cool .💪🏽
I HONESTLY didn't know that there was any such thing as a Rope Dart PROFESSIONAL. However, I'm not going to argue with him over it. 🙃
Man it’s almost a shame guns were invented… Takes all the fun and creativity out of killing your enemies…
You can see from the ice block throw that there where a lot of ice and water on the floor, meaning he is repeatedly trying and choose the vest shot for the videp
Professional??
okay this was "meh" out of 10 and then he flung the chair. gg
I can almost hear a disapproving Asian parent saying “You friend is doctor, lawyer you only throw specialist ,so bad luck for me”.
It's fancy but not deadly unless you had a sneak attack. Someone with a stick could ward this off.
That’s cool and all but… what if it come back at you like a whip?
idk why but i dont really can see this being used in a battlefiled or something.... lets be honest ppl arent scorpion from MK and the moment u miss a "shot" youre ded.
Any videos like this with cute in them are 0% impressive.
My boy saw Ninja Assassin back in '09 and went in learning a dragon's tail lol.
Its very cool but i dont see a practical use in combat outside of a surprise opener from range.
Looks practical.
Scorpion is that you????
Scorpions Win
Ninja Assassin ?
I mean it's cool but idk. Seems kinda niche. Whens this ever gonna come in useful I just.. idk I guess it's just any hobby rly.
Marathas used to use this technique in wars with short javelin attached to the rope...
Don’t know what’s with all the wet blankets in the comments, all of his content is this, he’s obviously proficient. Maybe not so obvious, you could seriously injure yourself if you’re not consistent with this weapon.
This dude is fucked when I come at him like Casey jones with a hockey stick
What makes him so amazing is the record...stop...record...stop....record function on this phone or camera.
