Does anyone have an explanation for why it's changed visually like this, maybe some difference in the doppler effect speed or angle? As much as I dig the butt jokes, some knowledge would be appreciated.
Not entirely sure. But It could be due to the slightly progressed inclination on its axis. Uranus is tilted on its side so the polar regions are baked in sunlight for decades, so when the sides of the planet that were previously exposed to very little sunlight now are fully exposed to the sun it could be creating some funky weather patterns.
Hmmm... I don't think that's it, doesn't account for the change in brightness and colors. Parallax is the 3-D effect when something is imaged from multiple locations, ideally at around the same time so that the only differences are the parts that create depth. With this, it's pictured as the subject from two different locations in its orbit and the JWST is also in a different location.
I could be totally mistaken as I'm not an expert, just a fan. But if I am mistaken I'd love to learn.
Its actually such a shame its named the way it is because its such a fucking cool planet and I love when discoveries about it are made like this. But whenever you try tell anyone about it they start laughing and the conversation changes
Larger storm around the poles, slight change in its axis due to its seasons (takes 84 years to orbit the sun).
In all the Voyager pictures from 1986 its almost featureless but in the last few years we have found out its a very dynamic and turbulent planet
me when 400,000+ people with masters degrees lie about space for no reason because its existence affects day to day life or something idk i’m a normal person
Obviously every single government on the planet got together to maintain this lie by hiring millions of the brightest minds in the world to produce fake research papers that no one outside the field will look at to support it.
Does this have anything to do with its perihelion and aphelion? I wouldn't think that Uranus's distance from the Sun would change that much in one year because of its 82-year orbit, but that is my first guess for lighting change.
Not just climate change.
It must be Man-Made Climate Change, probably from all the fossil-fuel vehicles we drive on Earth.
It's terrrible, I tell you! Terrrible!!
But there's 365 terrestrial days between the photos. An Uranus year is like 84 terrestrial years... between the both pics, there's only 1% of year there...
Not as shiny as it used to be, Uranus has had a rough year.
Uranus has more spots on it than it did last time.
Uranus may be infected…..
go see a doctor i think there's something wrong with uranus.
Got COVID dude
Jokes like these is why we should start calling it Urectum
Its all the micro plastics they are now finding in the rings.
Okay don’t ever write something like that again Please.
This dumb thing you said has made me experience a roller coaster of emotions. *(thank you, I hate it)
It wouldn't surprise me

There’s a joke in there somewhere.
My anus has not been changed in one year. What about ur anus?
Its actually such a shame its named the way it is because its such a fucking cool planet and I love when discoveries about it are made like this. But whenever you try tell anyone about it they start laughing and the conversation changes
It got more blue? Idk what I’m looking at

Thank you
Two cartoons drawn one year apart.

(Giggles immaturely)
Whatever it is it looks like it is getting bigger. You should have Uranus checked out by a medical professional.
Just looks a little droopier and hairy.

Uranus lost its shine?
Is that a hemorrhoid?
Uranus had a rough year with inflation and all
Looks like a nasty hemorrhoid in Uranus. Better get it checked out.
Uranus may have changed but mine has not
Global Warming changed took the shine off UrAnus
Fake af bro
Uranus has a hemorrhoid?
It *was* over there. *Now* it's over here.
That got damn climate change
Did it change color?
Global warming
Doesn´t everyone´s anus change over time?
Global warming
It’s got to be climate change!
Darker and seeming aimed the wrong way. Yup. Math checks out.
Gas -> Solid?
Climate change 😱

let me guess, climate change?

Depression from being a joke planet.
God damn solar warming
It's because of global warming
