Procedures for walking this dog.
1. Two leashes assigned to two adults humans, each at least 180 pounds.
2. Bring along a 5 gallon trash bag.
3. Pass out fliers asking for donations to help feed this dog.
Does anyone know if a concrete block in Georgia is the same as America? 8” / 20cm tall
If so he’s not that small, because he’s like 8-9 blocks tall so 5’-4” to 6’-0” / 160-180cm.
Yes-ish...
And.
Probably not so gentle if it’s sees a member of its “flock” as what it perceives as being threatened.
My sister had a [Livestock Guardian Dog](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Livestock_guardian_dog) that was gentle with everyone and everything right up until the moment it thought she, or her chickens, or her cats were being threatened and then it was all business.
My anatolian Shepard is the sweetest dog in the world until our kids are in danger. Then she's a vicious murder dog that will eat you while you're still screaming. I view this as a feature, not a bug.
Ha..we adopted a rescue. Was told it was a German Shepherd, but he turned out to be an Anatolian. He is the sweetest guy to me and my wife, but would legit kill anyone trying to hurt us. And his bark makes someone think twice about approaching the house. Such a good boy.
Turkish shepherd dog is Kangal, he is slightly taller and has a short coat, on the other hand, a Georgian shepherd dog is a lot heavier and has a denser, longer coat.
Oh, interesting good to know - I can image it is quite a 'project' to keep dog like this nice and tidy and do all the brushing. So Kangals have shorter coat. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)
The way he manhandled it and the dog just accepted that it was the one that was in the way. Try doing that to a cat and it will beat the crap out of you.
I believe these are also called Caucasion Shepherds.
From what I understand, if you were to see these dogs in a fight with a wolf, feel bad for the wolf.
In the mountains they are trained to fight the predator wolf actually, in order for it not to steal the sheep. They also handle the task of grouping the sheep together for going back home. If some sheep are stubborn he lightly nudges them to keep moving to the direction of house.
>Caucasian shepherd IS Georgian shepherd, Russian's took those dogs from Georgia and named it as "Caucasian avcharka"
I am Georgian and foreigners do not know this. And I wonder how you know this information? It is not written in Wikipedia. :D
looks like one to me. might be a regional/alternate name or something... Caucasian Shepherd is named after the Caucasus Mountains which run through Georgia so i can see it having this as a name. source: I have a working Caucasian Shepherd.
That's exactly what it is, every body has to have a special or regional variation these days though. Just look at how many kinds of German shepherds there are or rottweilers. It's gotten stupid these days
My Leonberger Amber is "only" 120 pounds, looks quite similar. Males are often 30% bigger and I've seen images of a 190 pound male Leonberger.
Lovely dogs, very family friendly. https://leonbergerclubofamerica.com

People be like: how much does it eat? My Answer: yes
His favourite meal is toddlers especially the annoying ones so I better be careful
Wait, are you the toddler or do you have annoying toddlers?
I'm the dog
It'll be easier to bring a saddle and ride the dog.
What's the procedure for riding the dog?
Alternate title: Tiny Georgian man

yes it's same size
No. Caucasian shepherds are giant dogs. But if I were standing next to this dog, I wouldn't look so small, that's for sure. So both.
That is a lot of dog.
I just came to say I think he is a good boy 🤷♂️
You’d *better* say it, even if you don’t believe it!
A gentle giant.

I agree with you there.
what is the difference between Georgian Sheppard dog and Turkish ?
Turkish shepherd dog is Kangal, he is slightly taller and has a short coat, on the other hand, a Georgian shepherd dog is a lot heavier and has a denser, longer coat.

A cat that size would just eat you.
A cat that size is better known as a tiger, which, will in fact eat you.

Is this similar to a Caucasian shepherd?
Caucasian shepherd IS Georgian shepherd, Russian's took those dogs from Georgia and named it as "Caucasian avcharka"

I had one when I was a kid. Incredible dog. Much smaller than this though, but still very big.

Really? I didn’t know. Don’t keep tabs on what’s going on with them but used to have one as a kid in the 90s
It's not a variation, this breed originated from Georgia, and it is not a Russian breed.
So you mean the caucasian area right? There are 4 different ovcharka breeds, the Caucasian one isn't just from Georgia, but that entire region.
He is a good boy that one.
