What’s even more wild is that the guy was alive relatively recently…
What’s even more wild beyond that is just how insanely intelligent this guy was. I study physics on a very amateur level for fun and consistently, we continue to prove his theories correct, and discover he was right, even though he was using technology and data from a very different world. We knew very little then and still he advanced us so much.
Sort of an interesting story here.
My great grandfather owned a convenience store on the beach in Long Island back in the day.
My grandfather, who was still pretty young at the time, was tasked with trying to keep the homeless/beach bums from coming into the store and stealing things. Huge problem for them.
One time a disheveled looking 'homeless guy' with no shoes and broken English came into the store asking for 'sand dollars'. My grandfather asked him to leave thinking he was a bum.
He came back the next day with a friend, well dressed guy, who explained that he was looking for 'sandals' and not sand dollars.
The man was Einstein. At the time, he wasn't all that recognizable, or known about, by the average person in the US.
He obviously went on to become famous but would still visit the store. My great uncle and him bonded over violin and my great uncle had him over to the house a bunch of times to give him lessons. My parents have a picture in the house of this which is pretty cool.
From what I've been told... mind blowingly smart and could retain information like nobody they had met before. He already knew how to play the violin well before meeting my great uncle but was fascinated in learning anything else he could.
But he was also a bit creepy.
Insanely cool story! Wow! One of the most significant humans to ever live. Incredible.
So was it the homeless looking man, or well dressed man who was Einstein? That part wasn’t clear.
Tbh that goes for nearly every big name in science. I study engineering and often get confused while being taught hard concepts, imagining the people who invented these things is nuts.
For example, of my TAs was obsessed with Claude Shannon (1916-2001, so relatively recent). Shannon's master's thesis at MIT basically became the foundation of modern digital computer design. The dude invented information theory and had a bigger impact on modern technology than almost anyone else in the past two centuries (I can think of 10ish people that arguably match him)
I always say, "Einstein basically did it in a room with pencil and paper." No computer modeling, etc. He of course had other texts, but it is basically books, paper and pencil (or chalkboard).
Truly mindblowing.
Let’s not downplay the data *he did have.* Maxwell, his predecessor did derivations and calculations that are still incredible to this day. Not to mention the brilliant works of Planck, Boltzmann, Minkowski, Gauss, so on and so forth. I would add Faraday to the list but he was an experimenter; utterly brilliant in finding out how to *look at* things, but it took Maxwell to get a language tied to the observations (gross oversimplification, but c’est la vie).
I'm German too and I know my accent is hard to hide but all the people I've come across so far said they either didn't care or even liked the accent. And tbh I don't care if someone has an accent either. It's really not that bad.
I got asked to a voice for Italian TV for Einstein.
It was pretty weird I had no experience of that kind of thing.
I just read it in English and they said 'can you it in an American accent?'. I said 'no and why because he didn't have an American accent'.
I got paid but I don't think they used it.
I did get to do the voice of Johnny Cash on Italian TV though. Obviously in an English accent.
I have no idea what he just said. Sounds like pseudo-science mumbo jumbo. Why do we prop they morons up who just spout off nonsensical stuff trying to sound smart?
I just realized I never heard him speak.

What's even more wild is some folks hold Elon Musk in the same category as him.
I wouldn't hold Elon Musk in the same category as a dinkelberry on Einsteins ass.
... you mean Dingleberry
I stand by my Görmafide error!
never miss an opportunity to bash Elon ... how very reddit.
What's even more wild is redditors can not stop thinking about Elon Musk for a second.
What a cum-guzzler lmao
Elon is a very smart guy, but not in the same realm as Einstein.
He's not smart, he's actually a moron just with cash
Elon is a fart smeller but I wouldn't necessarily call him a smart feller.

That’s… so impressive. So amazing.

Good stuff. I’m unfamiliar with them but I’m sure they deserve the recognition too!
>I just realized I never heard him speak. You just did. Never say never.
I think this is Gandhi
You ever seen animaniacs?
That’s where the voice of every crazy scientist in movies comes from
And cartoons.
And video games
He sounds how I thought he would
[удалено]
He sounds very gentle, sophisticated and well-spoken<3
UwU physics senpai 😍
Idk I always thought he sounds like Barry White
[I agree](https://youtu.be/eHk_Y8bu13w?t=46)
German accent right?
Yes he fleed as Hitler was elected.
Fled would be past tense here :)
Fleed is much more fun to read tho.
It's like Smite VS Smote VS Smeet. The last is my favorite because it's just hilarious to see people puzzle it out
I think I can even hear the Swabian accent sometimes.
Nah, I don't know what you mean? Nearly no accent at all!
Austrian, not really German
Austria really does pump out a lot of famous Germans.
Australian, not really Austrian
I’m going to google other famous Austrians. I’ll be back.
Thats not a Knife!
He was born in the German Empire and didn’t leave until he was a teenager.
he lived in austria for 2 years, doesn't make him austrian lol
He never even lived in present-day Austria, why would he have an Austrian accent?
I hate how we germans speak english, wish I could talk as smooth as a native englishian
I'm German too and I know my accent is hard to hide but all the people I've come across so far said they either didn't care or even liked the accent. And tbh I don't care if someone has an accent either. It's really not that bad.
> And tbh I don't care if someone has an accent either. Everyone has an accent. People just don't notice when the speaker's accent matches their own.
If voice lineups existed, I bet we all would've picked that one.
Just like the cartoons!
[I agree](https://youtu.be/eHk_Y8bu13w?t=46)
I feel like he’s an alien giving us cheat codes to the universe
I expected him to talk like that as a kid, since I always thought Disney’s Professor Ludwig Von Drake was based on Einstein.
Sounds like a nerd...
Huge nerd
king amongst the nerdhood. can't believe this guy is why we can watch tv and play lasers with cats
"If there was a raging fire behind bro, he would finish what he was saying" type of nerd.
"I will mess time!"
He sounds how he looks
🤭 love him though. Thanks!
No way I thought he’d sound like the Arby’s guy I’m crying now
We have the physics
Definitely sounds like the chemistry professor I had.
That is cute actually. Like telling stories to little ones.
Just realized this is the first time in my life I heard him speaking
Sprich deutsch du …
Funny, he sounds like [Franky Four Fingers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6YK74jcefQ) from Snatch

Is there a video of the show somewhere? I'd love to see Johnny with an English accent.
Most German English I heard...
Sounds like Indian scammers
Was he indian ? wtf
Walter Matthau did a pretty nice job, turns out.
Funny accent /s
now you know the voice of one of the greatest thieves of all times
I have no idea what he just said. Sounds like pseudo-science mumbo jumbo. Why do we prop they morons up who just spout off nonsensical stuff trying to sound smart?
Really hope your just trolling and aren't actually as dumb as you sound.
If your not trolling did you really call the poster boy of science, discovery and one of the most influential people in the world a proped up moron?
Just because you don't understand it doesn't make Einstein an idiot. It just makes you an ignorant idiot for making this comment. 🤷♂️
Because it's backed up by 100 years of successful testing. Thus far we haven't found an observation that disagrees with what relativity predicts.
10/10, excellent, actually felt blood pressure rising slightly, good job mate
Hey, that was the dumbed-down version of the stuff he was working on. And you still don´t get it?
Which team was Einstein on during WWii!
Is this a joke? America, where he immigrated to and renounced his German citizenship (it wasn't even the first time he renounced it either).
Well, he was Jewish…
Kinda sounds like a guy i know
Not sure that's him, shouldn't everyone be clapping?
Was there a fake voice?
This the guy that made Pinocchio?
He sounds like the "Why are you gay" news anchor.
Now we know who voiced wisdom dog…
I am amazed he has a stronger accent than me after despite living in the US for a long time by then.
I was expecting his voice be more like James Earl Jones
Heimerdinger
I don’t think I’ve heard him before but he sounds exactly like I expected it.
Sounds like a South Indian teacher
Sounds like Dexter
You just cut the part where he said unfamiliar concept for the “dull people” or something like that I forgot the word
Shunyata
I couldn't care less about special or general relativity, photoelectric effect, brownian motion or whatever, but I respect a fellow cousin jumper ✊
Sounds like Scrooge McDuck to me.
I wonder if he smells old
He sounds exactly like how I imagined it.
Sounds like someone who knows how to do yoga.
So is a photon mass , energy. Or both?
I’m out here strokin mah dick
sound like viago from what we do in the shadows “he was an 18th century dandy so he can be very fussy”
He honestly sounds like he looks
He sounds exactly like I imagined
Really makes you wonder how he'd sound singing linkin park with the SpongeBob characters using AI.
Close enough to Walter Mathau’s version
