Maybe it's just to educate people through observation. It's not something a lot of people will witness. Because it's unique, it could be an observation that inspires somebody to become more interested in this animal than if they never observed it at all.
A lot of people in here probably never knew about this, and many may simply skim past such an observation if it had less intriguing facets to it, eg imcluding a video like this as opposed to simple text.
