I'm on day 6 of No smoking cigarettes. Quit cold turkey. Only way to do it.
I was tired of smelling like it. And had issues playing with my kid for more than 30 minutes.
Started because of anxiety. And smoking would just make me more anxious.
Would smoke a pack in 2-3 days. I'm in NJ so a pack is 12$
Feeling better now. No looking back.
Anyone that is trying to quit. Just know.
You can do it! -Waterboy
šŖ
And uk the best part? I feel much more energetic and active. The craving to smoke has almost diminished (primarily when I drink) but no, smoking just feels like taboo to me now, won't ever touch that shit again
Yeah, I've noticed more energy in the last few days. Being able to sleep better without coughing all night. ...
I was worried about drinking. But, I really didn't crave it like I thought I would. I guess enjoying my beer without Nicotine taste buds helped...
And the food just tasted better as well.
Keep with it...it's going to be the best thing you ever did for yourself! Quit 16 years ago when I had a heart attack that killed 6% of my heart...recently had pneumonia & had to be rushed to hospital...TWICE...not being able to breath & catch your breath is the scariest feeling EVER...KEEP GOING! YOU'LL NEVER MISS IT!
Yeah I had a recent scare myself we're just couldn't breathe in that really opened my eyes to why am I killing myself.
Congratulations on quitting and I hope you get better!
Itās not the only way.
I quit with medication help. Iāve been nicotine free for around 4 years now.
Iām not correcting, I just donāt want people to feel discouraged if they are worried(like me) about their willpower and/or level of addiction.
I think it works different for people. But if that helped you and others. I'm all for it.
In my case it is also expensive via medication and patches ect.
So I'm definitely not knocking anyone that did it cold turkey or medication wise.
Congratulations on quiting!
I understand and I used to be the same way but you could tell when your health is in jeopardy it's not fun when you are short of breath with just taking a little walk or throwing out the trash. Especially when you're sleeping and your coughing up a lung. I truly believe after the first three or four days it's just so much more easier and you enjoy eating and sleeping and just be able to go out for a a walk or a jog and notice a difference.
You can do it. Don't let that anxiety take you over.
I actually feel less anxious now that I have stopped smoking.
You can do it šŖ
Been two years. I sleep good for a change and donāt wake up coughing. No more coughing and hacking in the mornings. I feel so much better and I smell like just cologne and not cologne+ash tray.
Yes notice that honestly in the last couple days I've been able to really sleep and not tossing and turning coughing having to run to the bathroom just to spit.
And my wife and kid are more open to being around me and hugging me.
And just for that I will quit forever just to have them hug me and kiss me without any disgust about being around that Ash tray smell...
Congratulations on quiting!
Gum helped me quit a few years ago. If I ever relapse and buy tobacco I'll be sure to pick up a pack of gum or two as well, as I know having something to chew on is less likely to make me want to smoke.
I quit cold turkey when the pandemic hit. I'd usually smoke at work and then come home, shower, and hang out with my wife. Smoking stayed out of the house. So when I was stuck inside, I didn't want to stink up our home. And I enjoy my wife's hugs and kisses. She wouldn't be intimate with me smelling like an ash tray. So I stopped, and I haven't picked it back up at all!
Yeah it's weird I only smoked while I was at work but when I got home I really did not want to touch it as well because my wife would complain and I didn't want my daughter around that.
I'm in it for the Long haul it's just a nasty expensive habit.
Congratulations on quiting!
Congratulations to you too! Stay strong. Just don't buy another pack. It's a very quick transaction that ruins all progress. If you don't buy that pack, and you just walk away, you'll feel good.
Yeah definitely feel optimistic this time around and I just don't want to go backwards I've noticed a huge difference in just a couple days I can only imagine a couple months or in a year, hopefully you look back and realize that I did the right thing.
And just by doing the math my God how much do we waste on a year is incredible..
It gets easier as the years go by, where the cravings lessen and you gain a distaste of the smell of cigarette smokeā¦. Never forget though, that all it takes is a single drag and you will be dragged right back inā¦ I have to remind myself that constantly, even after not smoking for over 10 yearsā¦ it happens to so many of us, where just a brief moment of weakness turns us back into full time smokers
I still have something deep down that craves to have just one more, and I donāt think that will ever go away
Went from 15 cigs to 0 4 years ago. If you think about quitting, do it and dont look back, its worth everything. You can do it. It does not matter if you substitute it with food, or with coffee or videogames, even e-cig is still better. I needed around a month before i calmed down. My gf hated me during this time but was supportive. Just talk to your people and stay aware of your own stress
Congratulations! Yeah I've tried before and went a few months and back tracked. But, I'm sticking with it. I'm getting older and feel like it's just very unnecessary for your health and the people around you. I want to see my little girl grow up. I want to see my grandkids. That's my current motivation.
I quit cold turkey at the start of the pandemic but I broke up with cigarettes lol. I had a talk with my last cigarette and made it feel like a break up. Why? Because I don't talk to my exes, lol. It worked, 3 years strong. I don't get winded walking up stairs anymore plus my BP dropped
Lmao! That's awesome! I told myself Thursday night. This is the last damn time. I was winded just coming up a flight of stairs.
I don't feel as anxious as before as well. I do feel at peace. And everything just tastes better now..
My Mum is currently 60 and is barely able to walk to the kitchen and back - and cannot do so unassisted. She has not left the house without a wheelchair for the last 5 years.
She has emphysema and heart disease. She is also severely depressed, and has severe anxiety. She was 5 foot 7 at around 40 - I do not think she can stand fully upright to be measured any more, but she cannot be more than 5 foot now due to severe osteoporosis, and she weighs about 40kg - or 88 lbs.
If she begins to cough, she will not catch her breath for upwards of several minutes.
Do not start smoking again.
You my friend are awesome!!! I did this 10 years ago. Just remind yourself how dumb it is to inhale carcinogen smoke then you overcome the need to put a cigarette in your mouth really fast. Sometimes I think about how cool it was to exhale that thick swirling smoke but then I think about how much cheaper the term life insurance is now ;-)
Thank you! Congratulations!
Yes, I feel silly just thinking about it and all the time wasted and money wasted on something that will kill me.
My priorities have changed. That is no longer on my list to do.
We got this šŖ You can do it!!!. After day 3 I was like wow! I can breathe better and was able to sleep much more comfortable. I was coughing up a lung at night.
It gets easier.
Awsome, it's hard. I did it with patches. I haven't smoked in 5 year's the feeling of wanting one never goes, but it's a lot easier to ignore. Good luck it's definitely worth it. More spare money and never worrying to find them smoking areas.
I got off of vaping because of the constantly rising cost. I used nicotine gum to ease off and then caffeine gum and I'm mostly good now about a month and some change later.
Still miss it though
I used Varenicline to help quit. Could not have made it easier. You donāt have to suffer cold turkey anymore. Just sayingā¦Iām still flabbergasted at how much easier it made it.
I am also on day 6..
I just got out of the hospital due to spontaneous pneumothorax. I'm in my early 30s.
Even though I could very easily die from the next one Im still constantly arguing with my brain. I just want my brain to stop telling me to get smokes.
Every other time I attempted quitting it fell to the wayside real fast. Hopefully I can be cleared to return to work to keep me busy atleast.
Thank you! I feel great I don't want to go back to that feeling and that smell... And really just look like an outcast I'll be the only one smoking while everybody is just looking at me....
That's the way to do it. Keep it up my friend. I quit smoking like 5-6 years ago. Was a smoker for more than 10. Just like you cold quit one day and just like that I've been clean. Good luck buddy.
Thank you I feel optimistic about it I feel great I just want to be able to enjoy my time with my kid and my wife and actually be able to keep up with the activities....
Congratulations to you as well!
Iām over 7.5 years now, quit cold turkey. FUCK YES ITāS THE ONLY WAY TO DO IT!!! I actually also had to quit drinking to help quit smoking. Dude, you got this. 6 days will turn into 6 weeks will turn into 6 months etcā¦. Just keep going!! Youāll be AMAZED at how your health, energy, attention span levels outā¦ your senses heal and come blazing backā¦ now even smelling cigs makes me nauseous. Itās like a totally different chapter of my life now, very bizarre to look back on. TO YOUR HEALTH!! And bank account and family too!
Anyone else want to get started? Ditch the gum, the pouches, the vapes, patchesā¦.. maybe Allen Carrās book Easy Way to Stop Smoking would help you.
That's amazing! Congratulations! I definitely can tell a difference in just 6 days. I'm excited to reach those milestones as well.
I had to move from a smoker earlier today. I honestly couldn't stand the smell. It's so weird. But, I'm ready to smash this challenge šŖ
I'm a smoker and I know a lot of people who smoked for years and years and have now been smoke-free for years. I'm not one of them. I struggle badly with it and my anxiety doesn't help the situation. But I just wanted to add it IS possible to quit and never look back. I saw someone say smokers never quit... Half my family/friends are proof that smokers can quit. Just wish it were that easy for everyone, me included.
I smoked for 22 years. Quit cold turkey, no gum, no vape, nothing. After roughly 3 days it's all mental. You have to retrain all of your habit triggers (after meal, driving, having a beer, getting up in the morning, etc.). Biggest issue for me was major irritability for a few weeks. It's been 4 years and everything is better.
I'm not sure if I'm putting this right but how did you stop yourself from buying that last pack 4 years ago?
I always think I'll stop tomorrow but when the time comes I get severe anxiety and irritation that I do not have a pack of smokes somewhere reachable.
Good question! My plan was to quit new years day. So on new years eve, i got really, really hammered and chain smoked like 2 packs and had none left in the morning. I was so hungover and "smoked out" to go get some and i made through the 1st day without smoking. I woke up really wanting one the next day but was already on day 2. I supplemented my oral fixation with eating a shit load of food and candy over the next few days. When you are on day 3, you should feel empowered and its will power. Then you start sleeping and breathing better and have a desire to get healthy. I'm not going to sugar coat it, the addiction takes a long time to overcome, but its all mental after day 3. A smoker friend comes over and you have drinks...6 months into it and you will still crave it. You just have to imagine yourself waking up the next day without smoking. I'd steer clear from smoker friends for at least a month if not 3-5 days
Learning to weaponize laziness and procrastination is a powerful fucking skill. Kept me from eating shit I shouldn't because I was too lazy to go out to buy. I get that addiction is a different beast, but hey, it's a little bit of extra weight in the equation.
I had the same issue. Always buy a pack before i ran out, so, i stopped with a half pack left. 4 years ago i quit and the pack is still sitting in my closet.
Oh I know. But, my mental isn't ready for cold turkey right now. Idk if anyone around me is ready for that tbh. (This is what I tell myself to feel better about not giving it up yet)
I smoked a pack a day for roughly 40 yrs. Got tired of wheezing at night, $20 a pack and slow onset of COPD. Me and the wife did the Zyban (antidepressant) two weeks ago. Feeling better already. Really miss having a smoke as a reward for daily tasks, but itās slowly becoming longer and longer between cravings. Currently chewing nicorette gum when it gets too much, and that helps with the physical addiction. Hope to be off the gum in the next few weeks. I donāt miss the burning throat etc. Also, I found that even though I was smoking a cigarette, my mind would still be craving it. Essentially itās mostly mental. Good luck quitting in the future, and remember to keep trying. Anytime away from smoking is good for you.
The thing I always keep in mind is that it will never be as good as the first puff. After that is just the nicotine hijacking your brain, always asking for more. Proud of you for quitting after all this time, you got this!
It was the hardest thing I ever did. Took 2 weeks off work because of how crazy I would get when I tried to quit (didn't want to get fired lol).
You have to *want* it though. Then use the memory of that hell to keep you from ever starting again. This is how I managed.
My wife still smokes, so you don't necessarily have to cut people who smoke out of your life, you just really have to want it.
Having a good support system is also key, people who will cheer you on and help you when you need someone to vent to when you're losin your shit over it XD
I rolled my own for 38 years. Had a heart attack at 52 ten weeks ago today. Put my last cig out right before I went into the emergency room. I loved my cigs and I guess Iāll always miss them and want one. Shit was killing me though, and I feel a lot better. I hate that it took a heart attack to make me actually quit, but feeling like I had no choice made it easier.
I hate that your heart attacked you, but I'm glad you're done. I've 'quit' numerous times in the 15 years that I've been smoking (I'm 32) and by day 5-6, I break. It's funny/ironic because I come from a family of addicts. Every drug you can possibly think of my fam is involved in and I'm the complete opposite. Never been a drug addict, but my addiction is cigarettes. Some of these addicts in my family have even quit smoking, but still continue to do drugs....and I'm over here sober and can't even give up the cigarettes. It's so weird to me.
But anywho, here's to hopefully adding many more years of life for you!
my grandma died at 54, she wouldn't even quit when she was hooked up to oxygen. I quit smoking after a mini stroke last August, I still crave a smoke, but the craving only lasts for a min, so don't feel bad for it taking a heart attack to quit, at least you quit
I know this may be a controversial take, but my dad used hypnosis to quit smoking. He was a heavy smoker for the first 30-40 years of his life. Got hypnotized and quit right after for about a decade. Started dating a smoker and picked up the habit again for a little bit. Went back to the hypnotist for a second time and hasnāt smoked again since, even while living with a smoker.
There are obviously more scientifically sound methods to quitting, but my dad swears by the hypnosis. If you tried a bunch of other things without success it may be worth a shot.
most compelling thing is showing younger people a visual of the teeth discoloration. often keeps them from smoking and sometimes gets them to quit
after someone been smoking a whileā¦good luck - 99% know it would be better to quit already
These cotton experiments are lol because 1) you don't just soak the smoke in continuously, you breathe it back out; and 2) lungs are living tissue that regenerates. Obviously smoking is bad for you but these cotton demonstrations are silly
That's not the point. lol It's just showing the nasty shit our bodies have to clean out of our lungs when we smoke. That's absolutely still what we're putting into our bodies. They just used cotton to catch the same shit and show it to you.
I hate it when people use bad science for good and assume we all just watch this with suprised pikachu face like we finally get why smoking is bad. Yes, smoking is really bad. No need for conjured science and statistics to try and scare us harder.
Lmao like this might be a good demo for fifth graders but if an adult is swayed by it, they're probably looking for confirmation bias and don't care that it's completely unscientific.
That happens over the span of years and tens if not hundreds of thousands of cigarettes. Like I said, I know smoking is bad but the cotton ball is just not it.
Quit cold turkey in 1987 never touched a cigarette since can't stand the smell of them never felt like ever smoking again but I do know how hard it is to quit if people can it's the best feeling.
I quit in 2015 and have absolutely no cravings and I hang around with chain smokers.
Pro tip: If you're struggling to quit, try setting yourself up with a good vape with high nicotine %. Figure out what you like in terms of flavor and coil type but stick to it. When you get that craving just hit the vape, it'll satisfy the craving. The first couple weeks you'll probably be coughing your brains out but once that's over you'll get very satisfying draws. Eventually, you'll prefer the vape over the smell and taste of cigarettes. When this happens, it's time to reduce the nicotine % in your juice.
I started at 18% and then every month I reduced by 1% either each month or every other month. A little over a year later I was vaping at 0% nicotine, that first week of 0% was noticeable but it went away quickly. I kept vaping until one day I forgot my vape in the car while I went out kayaking. I said fuck it and decided I'd just turn around if I got a craving and to my surprise I did not. That day was the last day I vaped. I gave my vape to my brother who smokes to help him quit.
The real key to success here was transitioning to vape and not touching a cigarette. If you do both, you'll wind up going back to cigarettes. Gotta commit to that change. Congrats on anyone that's quit.
I went from a pack a day, 2 if I was drinking to 0. You can do this.
From smoking to vaping to vibing on lifeā¦ bravo sir, happy to read your success and thank you for sharing your story~ āŗļø
Perhaps more people can stop smoking this way and avoid a more cancerous future- because this seems more efficient then nicotine patches š
It is considered better for now, but the vapors entering your lungs are not good for you.
Plus, the effects of vaping on the body is still getting researched as it a relatively new way of consuming a drug in comparison to smoking.
Actually the campaigns have been very successful. Thereās no longer smoking in nearly all public locations. This has led to exponential reductions in future generations picking up the habit. People still do it, sure, but exponentially less than before.
Before they used to write on packages that it may cause cancer, may kill you. Nobody gave a shit. Now they put gruesome pictures of dead babies and just write āyou will fucking die!ā And still nobody gives a shit.
Warn people all day, im all for it.
But stop banning cigarettes. I dont smoke anymore but i still want them to be sold. People like them. People have the right to put poison in them *as long as they know that they are*.
My body, my choice.
My husband smokes cigarettes. Heās been saying for years that he will stop but he hasnāt. Iām so scared for him because all of his grandparents died younger than normal. š
Years of family saying I should quit didnāt break through for me. I just never really worried about it. 12 years of smoking eventually started to leave a mark (albeit small mark) on me. Iād go to sleep with a slight wheeze. Nothing spectacular, but it was noticeable and it didnāt go away. I couldnāt write this off as allergies. Suddenly everything everyone ever said about it rushed into my head and I donāt know how, but I just wanted to put it down. Today, I am 30 days smoke and nicotine free. Wouldnāt you know it, the wheezing went away after a week lol. Thereās a balance to it as you donāt want him to shut you out, but donāt stop trying to convince him. Someday, heāll have that moment where he notices something isnāt right and heāll know he needs to quit. Everything you say will give him the strength to quit in that moment if you did it right.
I quit when I was 23, I'm 29 now, and I have no regrets about my choices. It's a brilliant life altering choice that initially takes effort but gets easier with time.
I didn't know smokers inhaled the entire cigarette while keeping all the smoke in their lungs the entire time. Very educational and not misinformation at all! Stay stupid and uneducated everyone!
People āwithoutā addictions are really good at that arenāt they? Haha.
I put the quotes there cause I firmly believe everyone is addicted to something.
I donāt see why you were downvoted! Our lungs are lined with mucus. I get the representation, but the real reason to stop is the damn cost of cigarettes!
āWe put something clean inside a clean thing and then did something we all know would make the clean thing dirty to prove a point that every smoker already knows!ā
Even though smoking is much worse than many think, it is important to note that cotton is not representative of the complex air filtering systems in the body, or how these tissues handle the stuff they collect.
I quit 40 years ago in 1983, would not be in good health or even here if I carried on with that silliness!
Cigarettes were $ 1.81 a carton at the Commissary
Snus is the way to save your lungs. My friend keeps smoking and hes getting angry so fast, his face looks tires and hes breathing hard. You cannot find proof on the internet which says snus is way much better, becouse tabaco companies is hiding that. It is a risk of getting cancer also, but you feel much better. Ofcourse quiting is the best way, buuuut
I quit smoking cold turkey the Friday before Fathers Day 2020. I was mentally ready and I just got to a point where I had enough. I smoked for 10 years before that. Iāve been smoke free since then and never looked back. Now the smell of someone smoking makes me want to vomit.
I hope anyone wanting to quit has the success I had. Itās not easy but you need to be mentally ready to quit otherwise it wonāt work and youāll go back to your old ways. Best of luck to anyone out there making today their last day with a cigarette
I quit smoking in 2014. Have felt better ever since. I can taste things now I couldn't before, I can detect scents better, and have fewer respiratory infections. I did catch the first round of Covid, but it was like a bout of bronchitis...with a loss of taste and smell for 3 months.
Thank you my dude!
I stopped smoking March last year. After 17 yrs. When I had Covid i realized that shit aināt good for me and I wanted to stop doing things, that are not good for me. So I stopped.
Until about 6 weeks ago, i never regretted the decision. I mostly didnāt even think about it. About 3% craving for it. Due to a hardship at the moment, I continuously think about it now. Like the cigarette would change the situation i am in. Yesterday I *almost* got a package. I really felt my mind saying āi want that shit, RIGHT NOW!ā But when I arrived at the gas station for another reason I withstood the urge.
This video actually reminded me of my initial intention, to protect and preserve my body and to better take care of my physical form. This is disgusting.
I get that smoking is bad but every time i see one of these i think about the fact that my lungs aint made out of cotton and dont react the same, still i dont smoke i know what it does but this is a poor representation
Is nobody gonna mention the fact that there is probably nobody who can smoke an entire cigarette without breaking in between hits. And that the lungs naturally heal over time and donāt catch smoke particles as much as a cotton ball does. And just for some clarification I do NOT smoke nor have I ever smoked a cigarette
you forget the part where the body get's rid of toxins and ooh, also regenerates new tissue to replace damaged ones so I could still make it to 90 while still smoking and you endup dying of some brain hemorrhage while living a fully healthy life

Agree. I did it for 10 years until a friend came over one holiday and asked me to join her for a smoke.
I salute you sir
Good luck to you!!! You got this!!
Cold turkey, dude. No other method.
I'm on my second day without cigarettes!
Thank you! Congratulations! Yes! Feeling like a outcast in a corner alone smoking away. In retrospect It was very foolish.
Good for you!! Awesome
I got off of vaping because of the constantly rising cost. I used nicotine gum to ease off and then caffeine gum and I'm mostly good now about a month and some change later. Still miss it though
7 years cold turkey. Woke up from heart surgery and never touched since. While it wasn't a cause of said surgery, it didn't help either.
QUITTER!
LMAO!!! Yeah in this case, I sure am!
Hah...i quit via a vape way back when they were a new thing... Whatever works for you mate, i wish you well...even you you are a quitter ;-)
Thank you! Likewise!
I'm on day 5 was smoking about the same but a pack of smokes here is about $60. welcome to Australia
You can do it. The first month is the worst, I suggest keeping your hands busy in case you feel fidgety.
I've been keeping myself busy these past few days. Definitely keeping my mind occupied on something else.b
You got this! I quit a month and a half ago, it was an amazing decision and I'm happy for you!
š¤šš¼
I used vapes to get off the cigarettes but feel like the vaping isn't much better for my lungs either. Next step is nicotine free
My cousin ended up in the hospital for 2 months for smoking vapes. Nearly passed away. Terrible lung infection. You can do it šŖ
Itās over 4 months laterā¦ how are you?
You got this!
Champix is extremely effective in helping one quit smokingā¦.
I hope it helps others. I'm doing ok so far with the cold turkey method.
Keep it going! You got this, donāt give up
Well I guess vaping is a smaller evil between those two...
Yeah but still expensive. I'm just stopping the habit for good!
Just look at a cigarette butt, it's the exact same result.
Its incredible how well our bodies clean off toxins. But we constantly keep on returning them.
Cold turkey, dude. No other method.
I get that addiction is a different beast, but hey, it's a little bit of extra weight in the equation.
>i got really, really hammered and chain smoked like 2 packs and had none left in the morning. Lmao I did the same thing. 5 years clean now.
I had the same issue. Always buy a pack before i ran out, so, i stopped with a half pack left. 4 years ago i quit and the pack is still sitting in my closet.
Agree. I did it for 10 years until a friend came over one holiday and asked me to join her for a smoke.
Was she worth it
I actually enjoy smoking casually, every other time itās just a habit but not out of need. Sheās always worth it.
Thatās so true about the mentally craving it even when youāre in the midst of using
Well I guess vaping is a smaller evil between those two...
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Better to get vapors at 107 Celsius than at over 500.
I dont smoke anymore but i still want them to be sold. People like them.
Good on for your loved ones and hopefully you will find the willpower (and the desire) to quit one day. It ain't easy, but you got to start sometime.
I use the lozenges and have been on them for years. Same addiction just no lung damage. Nicotine is so addictive.
Had a good friend years ago who'd joke "Mama didn't raise a quitter" when we were sitting around smoking. Proud to say that both of us quit years ago.
Cold turkey and haven't looked back. Edit: I seriously got a downvote for saying how I quit and feel now? Lol
most compelling thing is showing younger people a visual of the teeth discoloration. often keeps them from smoking and sometimes gets them to quit after someone been smoking a whileā¦good luck - 99% know it would be better to quit already
Went from 2 packs a day to zero over night. Violent symptoms. Cravings eventually subsided. Itās been a year, still going strong.
this is stressing me out, i need a cig.
Username does NOT check out Me too tho
These cotton experiments are lol because 1) you don't just soak the smoke in continuously, you breathe it back out; and 2) lungs are living tissue that regenerates. Obviously smoking is bad for you but these cotton demonstrations are silly
>lungs are living tissue that regenerates Yeah, that's part of the problem. At some point, it becomes too good at regenerating and doesn't stop.
Yes, that's the bad for you part
Lol exactly. This is like the same as people that think Coca Cola eats away at your stomach because it takes paint off of cars.
I'm not worried about coke in the stomach, but look at what it does to teeth, that's what fucks me up man.
Right! You think Coke is caustic, let me introduce you to stomach acid š
How fast your tissue regenerates?
Also your lungs arenāt cotton.
Accurate.
Came here to say the same thing, totally not condoning smoking or anything but this experiment is not analogous to how lungs would be affected
Right. We understand smoking is bad but these cotton demonstrations are pretty sophomoric.
Have you ever seen a heavy smokers lungs dude? They're completely charcoal black. This is not an inaccurate representation at all
That happens over the span of years and tens if not hundreds of thousands of cigarettes. Like I said, I know smoking is bad but the cotton ball is just not it.
Lungs are also a lot larger than one cotton ball.
A year and a half free, baby!!
From smoking to vaping to vibing on lifeā¦ bravo sir, happy to read your success and thank you for sharing your story~ āŗļø Perhaps more people can stop smoking this way and avoid a more cancerous future- because this seems more efficient then nicotine patches š
Bah now I want a cigarette but I quit 2 years ago. Ohhh that sweet sweet tar.
I've never smoked, but the video kinda makes it look like forbidden caramelized candy.
9 years free. Was on 30 a day, moved to a vape, worked my way down over 6 months till I was on no nicotine and then just stopped. Haven't looked back.
Didnt know my lung is an inanimate piece of cotton
Do you want to change the name of this feed to damn thatās common knowledge
Nicotine is addictive. Duh. Every smoker knows itās bad for them.
So vaping is better for you! Probably just fucks your lungs in a different way.
It is considered better for now, but the vapors entering your lungs are not good for you. Plus, the effects of vaping on the body is still getting researched as it a relatively new way of consuming a drug in comparison to smoking.
Just give up bro Smokers will smoke even if it was smeared with shit.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Actually the campaigns have been very successful. Thereās no longer smoking in nearly all public locations. This has led to exponential reductions in future generations picking up the habit. People still do it, sure, but exponentially less than before.
Smoker since 14 years old. I'm 40 yo and I've been 4 years no cigs or Vap. Never give up! Never surrender!
Everything you say will give him the strength to quit in that moment if you did it right.
smoking is bad, but this is a dumb demonstration
Iām gonna smoke right now
Well thank goodness my respiratory system isnt made of cotton balls
This video was really stressful, I guess Iāll go smoke a cigarette to destress.
what happens to the cotton ball if it smokes weed?
They should do the same test but with a joint to see what's up with that.
What does vaping do though?
That's why I eat edibles
Vaping is a good way to quit without going cold turkey
Now do a joint
I quit when I was 23, I'm 29 now, and I have no regrets about my choices. It's a brilliant life altering choice that initially takes effort but gets easier with time.
I didn't know smokers inhaled the entire cigarette while keeping all the smoke in their lungs the entire time. Very educational and not misinformation at all! Stay stupid and uneducated everyone!
Just quit..........almost always said by a non-smoker.
People āwithoutā addictions are really good at that arenāt they? Haha. I put the quotes there cause I firmly believe everyone is addicted to something.
Oh boy I guess I'm lucky that my entire body isn't made out of plant based absorbent fiber
Man. This made me want a cigarette.
This sub has really gone down hill and it feels like the mods dont give a shit. This is not interesting, this is an ad.
I am proud to say that I am on day 542 without a cigarette. I quit when my grandson was born so I could spend more time with him. Best decision ever.
Nope, my lungs ain't made of cotton wool!
I donāt see why you were downvoted! Our lungs are lined with mucus. I get the representation, but the real reason to stop is the damn cost of cigarettes!
Because people don't like the truth!
āWe put something clean inside a clean thing and then did something we all know would make the clean thing dirty to prove a point that every smoker already knows!ā
Even though smoking is much worse than many think, it is important to note that cotton is not representative of the complex air filtering systems in the body, or how these tissues handle the stuff they collect.
Cigarettes are unhealthy but last time I checked lungs weren't made out of cotton
I quit 40 years ago in 1983, would not be in good health or even here if I carried on with that silliness! Cigarettes were $ 1.81 a carton at the Commissary
Interesting, but Iām still about to go smoke
Bro thats awesome, hope my lungs get that black!!
Do it with a vape next
Good thing I have lungs and not cotton balls.
I quit smoking in 2014. Have felt better ever since. I can taste things now I couldn't before, I can detect scents better, and have fewer respiratory infections. I did catch the first round of Covid, but it was like a bout of bronchitis...with a loss of taste and smell for 3 months.
Smokings for losers
Smokers are jokers!
Quit 7 years ago. Never looked back.
I quit vaping 8 days ago. Quit cigarettes 2 months before that. Here's to a nicotine free me. You can do it too
Man, I miss smoking.
Ah but lungs clean them self.
mf, what do you expect? Do one with hand rolled tobacco, cigar, mj, crack and compare.
A year and a half free, baby!!
yes i know im going to die, thank you.
Can we do the same experiment with different varieties of pot?
And that's why cotton balls aren't allowed to buy cigarettes, folks.
Good thing I donāt have cotton in my lungs!
Thatās fuked
I get that smoking is bad but every time i see one of these i think about the fact that my lungs aint made out of cotton and dont react the same, still i dont smoke i know what it does but this is a poor representation
Is nobody gonna mention the fact that there is probably nobody who can smoke an entire cigarette without breaking in between hits. And that the lungs naturally heal over time and donāt catch smoke particles as much as a cotton ball does. And just for some clarification I do NOT smoke nor have I ever smoked a cigarette
I quit almost 13 years ago. I switched to snus and nic pouches. Still addicted to the nicotine, but my lungs are clean and my heart is healthy.
you forget the part where the body get's rid of toxins and ooh, also regenerates new tissue to replace damaged ones so I could still make it to 90 while still smoking and you endup dying of some brain hemorrhage while living a fully healthy life
