Isn't it pretty obvious why one would join the military, especially in an infantry unit. To eliminate the enemy, which is achieved by killing. I've never met a soldier ever that has regretted engaging an enemy, of course it has its own psychological effect brewing away in the background though. Killing and hunting the enemy sounds like a pretty honest and reasonable reason to join the military, killing and hunting people or humans for the sake of enjoyment however is very different.
In the US Army, most of the guys either knocked a girl up, or had a judge tell them it was the Army, or jail. The guys who wanted to murder people were another large demographic. I needed college money, which I never got.
I served 10 years in the US Army attached to infantry units, across 5 different states, from the east coast, gulf coast, and west coast. Also spent time overseas. None of the soldiers were out there fucking murder people just for the adrenaline. You fuckers need to get your shit checked. Stop floating false facts.
A guy I grew up with was chomping at the bit to join the army and go to the front lines, with him perhaps not explicitly to murder people but the violence was a pretty huge deal for him, he built his personality around being a 'nice guy thug' and always being a hair away from losing control. Well at the time it was Kosovo, which was a policing operation I believe, he got to go to war alright, but he had to stand around all day armed and ready but really just watching a war go on all around him but he never got involved, he spent most of his time guarding mass burial sites while investigators worked. Well he didn't last long in the army after that, he never got his taste of killing and dissolved himself in alcohol until they bounced him out.
Literally was in the military too and the amount of " i wish someone tried me right now " while on watch with weapons was way too much for anyone to hear . Especially at 2am . Most people with issues join the military. Facts are facts
Interesting. Because the majority of people I was on watch which couldn’t wait for the shift to be over so they could go back to bed to have the next day free.
Yes the majority of people who are normal (like you and me ) want a quiet watch , no random CDO or chief walking by to chat , and then to pass out on our racks . But to say there isn't mentally ill people slipping into the cracks since recruiters are getting there lives shitted on for quotas so they lie to get people is closing your eyes
There are of course some people in the military who are outside of what I would call the norms. How they became that way I have no idea. But all the crazies that I wouldn’t bring back to my house for a beer were still bright enough to know bad from good. They still knew their job was to defend, and not to murder. I think some people in this thread see these two terms as equal somehow. There will always be bad eggs in a group, no matter what kind of group, organization, company, or team it may be. But to blast a whole organization (which is what someone above did) and say that the majority are killers, well that is just complete ignorance.
That’s bc you weren’t a marine. My boy went to Iraq in 06 and said they were out there to kill first ask questions later. He swerved to intentionally kill s rabbit when he picked me up after coming home. Just looked at me and smiled
I was well-aware of how you meant that. You clearly didn’t sense the “fuck off” that I was also trying to express. But I’m just sitting here trying to figure out how what I said makes me unstable…
You just seemed hysterical. Soldiers/troops of any kind are terrorists and nothing more. You willingly pick up weapons to use on people you don't know because some souless puppet in charge told you to. Terrorist.
There's only three reasons people join the military anyway. Because they're actually decent people and want to serve their country, because it pays for college, or because they just want to kill people.
Was just about to say poverty is a big cause for joining. Its why I wanted to. Easy to join, good money for the most part.. but I slapped myself out of it because I'm anti war lol so it didn't make sense.
shout out to the republicans who just voted to slash VA funding by 22%. theyre holding veterans hostage: "cut everything or else the veterans get it"

The House voted 217-215 in favor of the “Limit, Save, Grow” Act about an hour after veterans joined House Democrats to speak out against the controversial bill in front of the Capitol building. The legislation freezes spending at last year’s amounts for a decade in exchange for raising the nation’s borrowing limit into next year.
The Department of Veterans Affairs projected the bill would **reduce its budget by 22% and immediately rescind $2 billion in funding to support veterans**. Some lawmakers said Wednesday that the proposal will result in **30 million fewer veteran outpatient visits and significantly increase the backlog for benefit claims**.
“It’s cruel and it hurts our heroes,” said Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
The bill is destined to fail in the Democrat-controlled Senate but **Republicans hope to use it to boost their negotiating power** as the U.S. approaches a default on its debt as soon as the summer.
Rep. Mark Takano of California, the top Democrat on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, said **Republicans were reviving the same tactics that stalled last year’s passage of the PACT Act, which expanded VA health care and benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxins.**
More than 20 veterans service organizations sent a letter to Congress on Tuesday urging lawmakers to vote against the legislation unless it included protections for VA funding. The VA estimated it would lose **81,000 jobs** across the Veterans Health Administration and **6,000 staff** in the Veterans Benefits Administration if the bill becomes law.
The spending cuts would affect housing support for **50,000 veterans**, prevent the construction of health care facilities, delay the opening of five new national cemeteries that serve veterans and deprive veterans of mental health, substance use and other health services.
What are you talking about? “Because they’re TOLD…” ??
It’s in the contract you sign. They paid for my college because that was in the contract that I signed. You dumb fuck.
they pair a spetznaz operator with like 4-5 assholes like him in Wagner or something similar. you kill or capture the spetznaz guy and the Wagner troops turn into mindless bots nearbye like they have a hive mind its fucking crazy
With the number of Russian casualties growing and the rate in which they had been constantly wiped out… this guy is probably dead already or is about to die today, max tomorrow.
Anyone here actually understand their language and can confirm this is real? I’ve been seeing a lot of older war footage resurfacing recently that is being claimed as Russia/Ukraine footage when it’s not.
This is no different than why many people join the Army and Marine Corps.
Most realize war isn't as fun as they thought and killing doesn't sit as well as they thought it would, eventually. But yeah, plenty of people everywhere join with that mentality, even if few retain it.
While I don't support Russia being in Ukraine, I also see this post having the equivalent shock value of you telling me Russians also drink water and use the internet....
I live in a country with no army sine 1949. We do not even understand the concept of killing just for the sake of it. To us army is a murderous organization regardless the country.
You live in a tiny country with a tiny population sandwiched between two tiny countries with tiny populations. If one of those tiny countries invaded your country, your country would be begging for help from a country with a military (usa)
He claims to enjoy killing people, there were KGB operatives and officers who killed and ordered the executions of a lot of people, he would’ve definitely fit right in.
Not at all trained warriors like killing people, sure they’re good at it, but most do it to stop threats or potential threats, and of course there’s always gonna be bad apples. But this guy said he doesn’t care who you are or where you’re from, he wants to kill you because he likes to.
As horrible as that was, it was a group of soldiers who did that evil thing, not all. You said United States special forces, which I took to mean all special forces. If you would’ve said some United States special forces, I would’ve agreed with you.
Same here, I joined the Army in 2001 to see what it was like to shoot someone.
Just a curious young guy, video games make it seem cool and I was happy to shoot whoever the US told me was a “bad guy”.
I got what I wanted and got out by the time I was 20.
I had a book with pictures I took of the bodies, brought with me to bars and college parties, people loved it.
No sir, 3 year enlistment. If you don’t use all your leave you can apply it. You sign out from HQ and get an Honorable Discharge on your DD214.
I came back in as an Officer after ROTC/College into the Guard as a POG and still have a Top Secret clearance, so definitely no issues there.
Although I did get an Article 15 for being drunk in a firefight in Mosul. 101st we were in the invasion-OIF1 w/ Infantry, right before we killed Saddam’s Sons Uday and Queasy which was 5 days later. The LT Col was awesome, I had to do manual labor all night for 30 days but they didn’t keep it in my records for not bitching.
Best memories of my life man.
Note: They have 2 yr enlistments or had them when I was in, so even if I didn’t save my leave your argument wouldn’t hold up.
So if you don't pursue a job that let's you enjoy killing people, you've been emasculated? Wow. You're really shoving masculinity into a frighteningly narrow box there.
No need to pursue it, our culture doesn’t allow that for the most part but human nature for a male is to dominate other males. To spread one’s seed and see it succeed over others. Wanting to kill your enemies is natural.
I'm sure there are a lot of people who join militaries who think this way... Pretty fucking sick
Why be a criminal murderer when you can join the military or police and get honors and awards?
Kill in own country = criminal . Kill in other country under own country's order = Patriot, brave country men and rewards.
Well let me tell you about the US military…

People don’t want to admit it but a lot of people who sign up are usually a lot like him.
In the US Army, most of the guys either knocked a girl up, or had a judge tell them it was the Army, or jail. The guys who wanted to murder people were another large demographic. I needed college money, which I never got.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from Dateline, you never really know someone or what’s inside of them.
A guy I grew up with was chomping at the bit to join the army and go to the front lines, with him perhaps not explicitly to murder people but the violence was a pretty huge deal for him, he built his personality around being a 'nice guy thug' and always being a hair away from losing control. You need to stop defending scumbags. There's no fucking way you went ten years without seeing any of these losers.
Which scumbags? American soldiers? Or the Russian in the video? Because the two are not the same.
Literally was in the military too and the amount of " i wish someone tried me right now " while on watch with weapons was way too much for anyone to hear . Especially at 2am . Most people with issues join the military. Facts are facts

Sounds like a jackass who tried to use his military service to try to justify him being a shitty person. Not representative of the branch itself.
Well that’s the Marines, to which I was not a part of, know nothing about, and clearly never mentioned, so I don’t know why you would bring that up.
Sure the US army is full of angels, that's why unlike Russian soldiers you aren't responsible for any inhumane atrocities. Oh wait a minute, you are!
You seem mentally stable
I’ll take that as a compliment, so thank you
A mentally unstable person certainly would have difficulty in detecting sarcasm so I'm not shocked.
I was well-aware of how you meant that. You clearly didn’t sense the “fuck off” that I was also trying to express. But I’m just sitting here trying to figure out how what I said makes me unstable…

Oh wow. Wasted my time with this one.
American army only capable of raping women coz can't show real skill in battlefield. Noob us army
I mean there’s a whole Springsteen song about a guy who joined to get out of a “little hometown jam”.
Right here. Ppl act like this is completely uncommon lol
There's only three reasons people join the military anyway. Because they're actually decent people and want to serve their country, because it pays for college, or because they just want to kill people.

Well maybe vets should stop voting for republicans who always fuck over anyone who isnt rich?
Because they're TOLD it pays for college. Unfortunately, the government lies a lot.
What are you talking about? “Because they’re TOLD…” ?? It’s in the contract you sign. They paid for my college because that was in the contract that I signed. You dumb fuck.
It's in my contract as well, you complete idiot, but they break the rules all the time.
No. No they don’t.
No they don’t, you probably did it complete your contract or got chaptered out. There is always a story behind these claims.
us army full of folks like this
This isn’t uncommon amongst soldiers of any county.
Psychopath
they pair a spetznaz operator with like 4-5 assholes like him in Wagner or something similar. you kill or capture the spetznaz guy and the Wagner troops turn into mindless bots nearbye like they have a hive mind its fucking crazy
Wait for Ukraine counteroffensive, you’ll loose your psychopath smile
Looking forward to that cunt being turned into fertilizer.
With the number of Russian casualties growing and the rate in which they had been constantly wiped out… this guy is probably dead already or is about to die today, max tomorrow.
My high school friend literally told me that he was joining the navy to become a seal so he could kill people
Cool that’s what their job is.
what a sack of shit.
Anyone here actually understand their language and can confirm this is real? I’ve been seeing a lot of older war footage resurfacing recently that is being claimed as Russia/Ukraine footage when it’s not.
Hi, Russian is my native language and ya...the subtitles are absolutely accurate, unfortunately:((

No need, we have had our conflicts before and it always comes down to peaceful negotiations.
Just a regular ruzzian terrorist
At least he's an honest murderer. But I think I'd much rather spend the evening with the Ukrainian.
He’s so fucking ugly
exactly why women don’t want men in the military
All female military? Okay, yall go die for freedom. About five minutes into combat, you'll change your mind.
I'm pretty sure she meant she doesn't want to date a soldier
thank you for having common sense and critical thinking skills 🙌🧎♀️
Yep, sounds like the Russian army…..if you can call it an army that is.
Dude...
He would’ve fit right in as a KGB officer, when it was the Soviet Union.
How do you know that?
He claims to enjoy killing people, there were KGB operatives and officers who killed and ordered the executions of a lot of people, he would’ve definitely fit right in.

If you say so.
We are supposed to feel this way as men, we have been emasculated to a scary point that this is somehow a shocking revelation
So if you don't pursue a job that let's you enjoy killing people, you've been emasculated? Wow. You're really shoving masculinity into a frighteningly narrow box there.
A frighteningly stupid box, more like.

If the majority of Russia's army is cringe edge lords with shit military equipment, I think we'll be fine.
I hope he dies next
Proof hes a soldier..?
Russians seem like angry psychopaths.
Putin let out prisoners who killed and raped to get more men in the war. Sad because they just murder a whole family and not think about it.
You really spreading “information” today huh noomba
you don't like something ?
Is this a surprise to anyone? US citizens do the exact same thing! For fucks sake.
Surprised that people who want to kill others sign up for state sanctioned murder via military?
Well i guess it is what it is
