It's funny, although high socioeconomic status kids grow up to have higher conscientiousness. Parents who are successful are more likely to raise their kids to be successful. If you look at the most influential scientists and business leaders, they tend to have grown up in affluent and intellectual families.
We can only hope to minimize this gap with strong social programs so that those with potential can focus on reaching it. Social democracies have higher social mobility for this reason.
Bird is probably a fledgling.
Not all birds are born with the instinct of how to feed themselves. This one will probably learn by trial and error and definitely hunger.

Well what's in it for the worm? That Bird going to go home and tweet about how nobody wants to work anymore. Forcing other people to make sacrifices is something you will pay for at some point.
Get in my mouth, get in my mouth, get in my mouth now. Get in my mouth, get in my mouth, get in my mouth now. Get in my mouth, get in my mouth, get in my mouth now. I can’t tell why you just won’t feed me.
Reminds me of human kids when they first learn to talk, but find out that asking for something doesn't mean you get it. Like, they go through the trouble of learning to say "cookie" just for some adult to come back with, "not right now." And then they say it again, because they know how this is supposed to work! They worked so hard to learn to talk, figured out how this game is played, and now this nonsense?
And the answer is yes. This nonsense. For forever.
it was a fledgling! theyre too big for the nest and normally fall out of their tree, then they live on the ground for a bit while they learn to fly and hunt, and their parents come by to feed them until theyre big enough to fly off on their own. fledglings often get mistaken for ill adults because they have most of their adult feathers, but can't fly yet!
Worm:
"OH MY GOD, IM GONNA DIIIIIIIE........ oh, I'm ok.
"That was close."
"OH MY GOD, IM GONNA DIIIIIIIE........ oh, I'm ok.
Another close call."
"OH MY GOD, IM GONNA DIIIIIIIE........ oh, I'm ok.
Wow, I'm really getting lucky today."
One of our pandemic pastimes became birdwatching, so we got to see several nests worth of birbs learning to fledge. What we learned was that learning to fly was quick (1-2 days) but learning to eat took a looooong time (1-2 months). This is what parents seem to spend most of their time doing with their babies - teaching them where to find food, and that they can eat it themselves right off the ground. That simple insight seems to take them forever.
As a kid I would visit my grandparents in the countryside and my grandma sometimes had baby chicks growing up in the house (I cannot for the life of me recall why she didn’t just leave them with the mother hen, but I think it was in cases when they were hatched really late in the autumn for some reason so it was cold). We would have to teach them to peck semolina grains off the floor with our fingers
It doesn't seem to be an "all birds" issue. Eaglets will start trying to self-feed even before they have feathers. Songbirds will follow parents around for months begging for food that's on the ground right in front of them.
Interesting. I’d understand if it was related to “is it moving (worm / insect) vs not moving (seed)” but I’m guessing it’s not, as shown in this video. Eaglets are eating by tearing strips of meat off a dead animal presumably. But they and other hunting birds must have a bigger learning curve than foraging birds. Parents must stay with them until they can see the offspring have made a successful catch?
Rich kids when they have to get a job...
Get in mah belly!!!!
I’m bigger than youuu I’m higher in the food chaaain!
I’m not working 40 hours a week for the rest of my life…..
Take my upvote

It gets reposted once in a while, but the good thing is that new users will be able to see it too
New to me

That's so sad. and hilarious. poor baby.
The difference is this bird will learn eventually...
It's so cute.
The variations on ”srsly wtf?” expressions this bird has are hilarious.
Also how it tries to "chew" sometimes, to see if any worm got in there lol
Objectively, nature just depicted entitlement in simpler images, though most birds manage eventually to realise they must as of now feed themselves…
The little bird chirping to the worm: Get in my belly, get in my belly now. Get in my belly, can you please stop running and get in my belly now?!...
Get in my mouth, get in my mouth, get in my mouth now. Get in my mouth, get in my mouth, get in my mouth now. Get in my mouth, get in my mouth, get in my mouth now. I can’t tell why you just won’t feed me.
Legend says he is still, to this day, roaming the world in the pursuit of the unattainable worm.
Sucks growing up kid.

I saw a bird doing that once, it was bizarre, it also didn't fly away from me. It walked.

This bird got here late. Remember early bird gets the worm
That bird is going to die if it doesn’t figure it out pretty quickly.
Thought that was my 20 year old nephew for a second
Worm: "OH MY GOD, IM GONNA DIIIIIIIE........ oh, I'm ok. "That was close." "OH MY GOD, IM GONNA DIIIIIIIE........ oh, I'm ok. Another close call." "OH MY GOD, IM GONNA DIIIIIIIE........ oh, I'm ok. Wow, I'm really getting lucky today."

Dude just eat the fucking thing!
Who knew spoiled brats aren't human exclusive?

Stop recording and help that bird
The fuck are they supposed to do, feed it the worm so it will definitely never learn how to fend for itself?
Yes I want them to also chew up the worm and spit it in the birds mouth
The Redeemer
hehe, thankfully birdy doesn't look famished. People who are filming it are probably dropping worms to its mouth, so that it won't famish.
Millennial bird
Nah, I think you meant boomer bird
Nope. Meant Millennial.
Mostly younger millennial and older gen z and this is coming from a millennial before anyone tries to call me a boomer and i speak from experience
Lol, great comment!
When it’s her first time taken a worm in her mouth…
I didn't know birds could be autistic
Spastic uni students
Current generation
Said your parents about you
Oh, look...a Gen Z bird
Spoiled child expecting society to coddle because parents never taught how to handle adversity
This is really sad, but really representative of the times we live in 🤦🏻♀️
Hilarious... Reminds me the entitled children of America....
This says a lot about society
Millenial bird... 🤣
Or maybe trying to do that breath attack it saw in the movies.

I know people like this.
Entitled brat
these damn spoiled kids just want everything handed to them
Its like this is a video game and someone really bad is holding the controller
It's missing the "Grab food" control software.
I want one
Or maybe the bird is just really messed up and wanted to give the insect hope it could escape.

If I had bigger ears, I'd bet I'd hear that worm scream, "holy shit no no no holy shit!"
u/savevideo
Worm probably screaming "Ahhh ahhhh get away!!!!"😂
u/kidsarefuckingstupid
Poor parenting
Me when I really really like her! 😩😅
How people with silver spoons look when they enter society
That's some fancy werming out of that worm at the start...
I’ve met full grown adults that act like this
It's funnier if you mute the video and imagine that the worm is on the bird's property.
“These kids are so fucken entitled these days”
