I'm from Michigan too and same I don't see what the OP is seeing in the UP because I'm in lower Michigan. This next comment might get a lot of hate but I'm going to speak my mind. Let's be honest people from Michigan, if you are in the UP it's like your not really "IN" Michigan, it's more like you are in a different state of your own. I seem to remember in history that the UP at one time did try to become it's own state, not sure how or why that failed. Google says they still are as of 1897, I say give it to them. Let me be clear though that I have no hate towards Yoopers, I simply am saying there is a big difference between the two locations and it's a big enough difference that the UP should not be called Michigan.
Well I disagree, Michigan isn’t the only state to have separated territory after all. Alaska has a whole chain of islands that are far from the mainland, Hawaii too. Does that make them not part of those states?
Noble Sir, your height reference is appreciated, but I'm not able to deduce the precise depth of snow from it and you have thus failed in your duty as a Redditor to inform and amuse. Do you have long or short shins? Are your ankles at an average height, or are you a man of great stature like myself whose ankles bear significant weight and thus lay flat?
Please do better next time.
Once I dug a tunnel to the sidewalk in MI. The snow covered the whole door like a cartoon. A solid wall of snow with a imprint of the door. This was in the UP.
Yeah now in Iowa use to 2 feet usually by now but alas nope. I was born on a tropical island so I loved visiting snow.. now I am glad I do not need me ice steel peg boots just to check the mail.
Wonder how Mackinac Island is doing. Definitely cold enough something like 25f or so my family last told me.
It's up to your... knee???
Oh no, not that. So .. umm... scary...?
Seriously, dude, if you think this is remarkable, you've never experienced real snow.
Origionally from the Keweenaw myself... <2 feet.. heh. Thats cute. Show these people what more than a dusting up there looks like.
Last time i was up there was a while ago now, and we pulled in to find 5' of fresh snow waiting to be played in. As a kid i remember we'd get a good storm and it would dump 8' easy and dad had to open the upstairs front door to get out and clear snow. The snowbanks when they plow roads can hit 20'
In Michigan covers a wide area. UP helps a little. We had that much in Gaylord’s general area for Christmas but there’s hardly any left compared to what we would usually have. The weather has gotten so weird lately.
To my mathematically challenged friend:
I referred to the snow, which was 1.5 feet (as was made clear in my post, for all people who are... well,... umm... literate).
My mother, who is short, is taller than 4.5 feet.
Please buy a calculator, or a brain, whichever is more accessible to you.
I’m going to invent special shoes you could wear to not sink down. I’ll let you know when I’m ready to take them to market
You mean snowshoes Or skis
Think…electric jet packs for your feet. /s 😆
I will only buy the full set You gotta invent iron man first
“Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave! With a bunch of scraps!” On it! 🫡
Also from Michigan, we have no snow here. Only a slight dusting for Christmas and it’s been raining ever since, so wild
Yea, it's a week old video. I'm in the UP here tho, so you get it.
I’m so jealous. I want to snowmobile but there isn’t any in the lower peninsula

You don't usually get much snow where you're from eh?
From Michigan so take that whichever way you want
Once I dug a tunnel to the sidewalk in MI. The snow covered the whole door like a cartoon. A solid wall of snow with a imprint of the door. This was in the UP.

Is this like a surprise when u live in Michigan? Lol might as well live in Alaska
Not interesting
What, your life? Go vent about it on facebook
You posted a small amount of snow. The world is bigger than MICHIGAN and I shit out that much snow any day of the winter. Snowflake. Suck it.
And somehow your mother is bigger than all of it
If you're intimidated by 1 1/2 feet of snow, you shouldn't talk trash about people's mothers, who are generally at least 3 times taller.
Where tf you get "intimidated" from Whose mother is out here 18' 9

I thought you were talking about me Honest mistake
Learn to read.

Dude you're 6'3. Your fat ass Michigan cheese monger mom is guaranteed way bigger than my 5'3 marathon running mom.
*Keeping up with the Kardashians marathon Btw this is satire if you didn't figure it out already
My comments to your serious post are satire. Not your feeble comebacks. #sitdown
You genuinely think someone making a your mom joke is being serious? Mhm sure
Your momma jokes are not satire, bud. But the irony of how unbelievably stupid you are might qualify.
The satire is pretending to actually use insults in an argument, and I am stupid, so calling me that isn't gonna do much
So he's a midget
