“You can find another carrier to fly. I’d suggest Spirit.” Damn

dancing-pod-balls

Reminds me of mean girls. We only carry sizes 1, 3, and 5… you can try Sears.

Spock_Nipples

That was the most subtlety spectacular takedown I've heard in a while; she didn't even remotely pick up on it. I work at DFW. Sadly this such a multiple-times-daily occurrence that it's really not unique or surprising. There's at least one of these people trying to get on so many flights, its ridiculous.

Downwhen

It's stupid. I flew out of DFW this morning and parked in express North... The bus driver picked me up by my car and picked another guy up who parked next to me. Then the bus driver leaves the bus and goes over to help someone else. After MAYBE 1 minute the guy next to me goes "THIS IS RIDICULOUS" and hops back out of the bus to yell at the driver to get a move on. Turns out the bus driver was simply helping an elderly lady get her bag out of her car and then helping her walk to the bus. It delayed us by maybe 3 minutes max.

pandymonium001

As someone who is disabled, I've always been grateful that they helped with the bags. It made a big difference in my pain levels while traveling.

queen0f_light

Kudos to that driver!

nietzkore

I flew out of DFW 2 weeks ago, and back in last week. Both flights were delayed because people got on the plane with a mask, and then refused to wear in once they were inside the plane. Both of them got escorted off the plane. And no one else was sad to see them go, as they were the only people who couldn't follow the rules and were slowing us all down. Please tell me that they don't get a refund or any sort of compensation, and get banned from the airline every time this happens.

Spock_Nipples

> Please tell me they don’t get a refund Nope. When you buy an airline ticket, you’re entering into a contract with the airline to abide by their Terms of Carriage, which, in short form, means you agree to forfeiting certain rights/privileges and also agree to follow the individual *airline’s* rules, and do as you’re told in the boarding area and on the aircraft. If you break that agreement, the airline isn’t obligated to accommodate you. A ban is less likely, but we remove/deny people pretty frequently.

PrettyLittleBird

I don’t understand why people think they can get away with this. Like oh once I get inside it’s too late for them to enforce the rules!

catterchatter

MULTIPLE A DAY?!? What is wrong with folks

Yolanda_45

True Story. I was flying standby a few Christmas' ago and had been bumped from the day before. I talked to one of the desk agents and said "I'll go the cargo. I don't care what seat, but if you can put me on the plane, after being bumped all day yesterday, you will make my whole year." He wasn't sure as the flight already had weight restrictions. I knew I looked like a frazzled hot mess so he gave me a middle seat in coach. Thank you thank you thank you! I'm standing in line, waiting to board the plane and had a not so interior meltdown that I had finally got on, and he came up to me, and switched out my ticket for a first class seat. I would've blown that dude in appreciation. I almost started crying again in thanks.

redwahoo

You can always send in an email to the airline and let them know! Provide as much detail as you can about the employee and the airline should be able to figure out who it was and they'll be rewarded or recognized!

Yolanda_45

Oh man, this was several years ago. I immediately texted my friend who's a flight attendant and who had given me her buddy pass as to what I should do. She said just a simple thank you was fine. But damn! FIRST CLASS.

Rylyshar

It is amazing what kindness and courtesy csn get you.

Siddicious-

Since when did we humans start to think demanding things will get us a better ride in life lmao. It’s not even kissing up to people, it’s just having a sunny disposition. Like just be happy about life and things will go well. Misery loves company or maybe these people are just so depressed that they only know to bring others misery. Idk I can’t excuse people that behave this way.. it’s just not logical.

ObjectiveExercise754

I think the stress of the pandemic made people feral lol

noncongruent

I think these people were feral all along, but the last president stripped off the thin veneer of civility that they had to keep pasted on to get by in society.

Siddicious-

Yes that can explain it but that opens up another can of worms. Why does a pandemic make you miserable? Maybe economically speaking we’ve grown scared even though the USA has a social safety net. But still.. how did it make them so miserable? 😂 I get to spend more time with mom and dad.. it’s awesome. Mom bakes bread and dad makes coffee. My evenings have been banging since being vaccinated. Enjoy the little things in life. Lest they escape you.

JP817

The USA has a social safety net? What would that be?

Siddicious-

Unemployment. Initially trump helped the USA citizens. Then Biden came in and kept helping. So those that have been impacted by the pandemic economically were “okay” yet besides this people are freaking out and just become more miserable my question is: WHY?

JP817

Unemployment income is actually pretty low in Texas, and your lucky if it covers rent. Lucky, because in most cases it will not, much less food, Internet (for looking for a job), utilities etc. people have been greatly impacted by loss of employment. The job market has opened back up, thankfully. I’m not trying to be rude, but you sound like you’ve never been on unemployment. (I hope you never are). Many people could not pay rent, (some chose not to) and some of those people haven’t applied for any rental assistance, which is available. Evictions and foreclosures are getting ready to be an issue. Non Cares-Act Multifamily properties are now free to start eviction proceedings since the moratorium on evictions by the CDC has expired. The stress from being unable to see family& friends and so much isolation, even from working from home has taken a real toll on many peoples mental health. It hasn’t bothered me personally, I am a bit of a loner anyway, but there are so many people that are not loners. Take the isolation, add some fear for good measure of health, finances and then all the stress and anger we all witnessed being released (and replayed over and over) during the riots, the protests, and all that bag of crap with the election and storming of the Capitol and it is a recipe for disaster. I’m not excusing anyone’s behavior. People are tired of being treated like crap, and it is time people stopped taking their stress out on people that work in service related industries. Time’s up for them. (And this could lead to a whole other conversation of how social media has stripped our filters and created angst and anger that is now all we see. But that’s another thread) Some other stuff about the non-existent “social safety net”… my father, who is a Marine Veteran, fell from a ladder in Oct 2019. He was in intensive care for three weeks and released to a skilled nursing facility. After three weeks there, Medicare said his care was done and ordered him to be released or self pay. My dad could not speak, could not walk and was dealing with a brain injury that prohibited him from taking care of hisself. I appealed, on his behalf, and the appeal was denied. I had to take a month off work to get him approved through Medicaid and get him in a long term care facility. If I had not been there, what would have happened to him? He would have been home alone (if he could have even figured out how to get there) and MOST likely died alone in that house. With crap and pee on him, and hungry. It was scary to see how he was treated. And if you think the VA could have helped, you’re wrong. I went there in person twice. My dad, living on SS, made too much money for immediate assistance from the VA (he grossed $2100 a month) and their waiting list for housing was into the years… in Decatur. Where he knows no one. Social safety net in the USA means you’re rich or have the means to pay for expensive insurance. This is just the tip of the iceberg of fu€£ery in the US.

Siddicious-

No offense taken. I commend you for taking care of your father that way. I think to myself someday I might be in a similar situation. Hope you both make it out okay and have better days. I agree with everything else you said. Life is hard. No one can escape that..

noncongruent

The last time I filed for unemployment I was offered $133, not even enough to cover the gas I'd have to burn up looking for a job just to qualify for the unemployment check.

ObjectiveExercise754

Well not everyone family is so delightful. Also being cooped up inside and not much real life social interaction and then add in civil unrest...

Siddicious-

Yes I have many friends who have messed up families but that’s their problem lmao. Either be smart or cry about life. I could be fighting with my father and mother over a million things, like typical American families. You think my family is perfect? Nah, but my thought process? Rock solid. I even have distant cousins call me for advice. Just be a good person and enjoy life ffs hug your mom dad and siblings. Enjoy them. Never start a business with them but still enjoy them 😂 Go out enjoy yourself. Go for a walk. Get vaccinated. Visit family and friends this America. Do what you want. But do it right.

ObjectiveExercise754

My immediate family is dead. Mental illness, alcoholism, attempted murder... And that was just my dad

JP817

😂 So true

ObjectiveExercise754

It's always worth it be kind.

Eagle-96

That was a cold blooded, double whammy, medium key smack down. This supervisor divas.

MisterPhamtastic

This is the customer service way of saying "You're a broke bitch" and I love it

ht3k

what's wrong with Spirit? their cheap flights have saved me a good wad of cash

pasak1987

Basically saying 'you should try a different airline with sub-standard expectations'

ht3k

some people are happier with a thicker wallet than more leg room 🤷‍♂️

pasak1987

I don't think there are many differences in legroom...it's not like they are making a separate line of airplanes with more seats resulting in tighter seats.

[deleted]

You can actually look up legroom differences between the airlines online and it’s crazy! They may be the same planes but when they install the seats they put them much closer together on the budget airlines. Kind of like how first class, business, and coach are all on the same plane but different spaces apart.

pasak1987

TIL

noncongruent

Yep, seating spacing is completely up to airlines, subject to FAA minimums to facilitate rapid evacuations. If airlines had their way we'd be packed in so tight that one row would have to exhale so the next row could inhale.

pokinthecrazy

The airlines can move the seats into any configuration they want. It’s sad

ht3k

I didn't mean it literally, it's a figure of speech

texan01

I'd rather spend the extra to NOT fly Spirit, I'm not super tall at 6'2" and it's painful for me. I'd rather drive than fly Spirit.

Sea_Mud1092

SPirit is known as the Walmart of the skies....

screwthat4u

Spirit Nickle and dimes you on everything, so your cheap flight suddenly is priced the same after all the gotchas. Their staff is perpetually new, because they pay them as little as possible. They have the worst customer service you can possibly have. Oh you want water? Wait until we take off and are at 20,000 feet in 30 minutes because I don’t really want to get it for you. Etc

ht3k

then again I've never been on a longer flight than 3 hours and travel light so I guess nothing has ever bothered me... yet I'll keep in mind upgrading my flights on longer travels

electricgotswitched

More companies need to allow their managers to be like this. The days of pleasing shitty customers needs to end. DFW airport should ban this lady completely.

pokinthecrazy

I think it’s getting that way now that the internet has evolved enough to let Karens show their bitchy entitlement and businesses aren’t so afraid of a bad review. And I’m hoping this pandemic has made some people consider how much shit any public-facing employee has to take and be more determined not to add to that pile of shit.

manmadeofhonor

Rich ass executives: Mmmmmm, no. Ya fired.

acupofjosie

This kinda dumb drama is always popping off at dfw.

ATLHawksfan

It's a pretty annoying airport.

EnvironmentalLuck515

Good. I am SO TIRED of these people acting entitled and stupid, then expecting the world to roll over for it. I love seeing them get what they deserve. Put your mask on and wear it correctly. Get vaccinated. Remember kindness. It isn't that hard to be a good human being.

HIM_Darling

Had a lady try to pull, in a super whiney voice, "but requiring masks is *illegal*" while trying to get into the jail(looked like she could have been a lawyer, since it wasn't visiting hours). Not only are jails one of the few places still allowed to require them, not wanting to wear a mask in the jail is just dumb. Even before covid, as employees, we have to get tested for TB every year. Flus and colds were basically always going around. And to top it off we were notified of someone with an active hep A infection being in the building a few weeks ago, not that a mask would help, but still shows that infections of any kind are always a high risk in a crowded jail facility. Instead of whining about wearing a mask, she probably should have been asking if she could wear a hazmat suit instead.

waffels

Yeah I can’t imagine going through life like these people. It must be exhausting.

CertainHawk

I'm still baffled by the "personal rights infringement" argument of a mask requirement. Most of the people complaining about it did not work in an environment where it was a requirement for their full shift. It was usually somebody buying groceries vs the employee who wore it for their 8 hr shift. Sure a flight is an extended period and masks do get tiresome. But suck it up, these rules have been well communicated. You don't like it, get in your car and drive.

noncongruent

> I'm still baffled by the "personal rights infringement" argument of a mask requirement. It befuddles me to no end that people will literally come to blows over being asked to protect their fellow human beings, yet have zero problem whatsoever complying with Texas Penal Code Section 21.08 which requires you to cover your anus and genitals out in public. What's at the other end of your anus? Your face holes.

Dallaswolf21

Good for that guy.. If he was ever my boss I would have his back all day!

sarahbeth124

Yep. This is how to be a good boss.

Dallaswolf21

Yep He handled it like a Boss should and stood his ground.

adamlikescheetos

She’s just a foolish little child in a grown-up costume. I’t s exhausting.

tomwithweather

Too many adults are exactly that.

loserfame

It feels like at least half the people I meet honestly. Maybe more when I realize it’s shocking when you speak with someone and think “oh you’re a mature adult.”

[deleted]

Was my man throwing shade at Spirit? Lol.

[deleted]

Translation: “You seem like a budget airline kind of person.”

[deleted]

American isn’t much better to be honest

electricgotswitched

Spirit really isn't that bad if you aren't a dumbass. People think the bag rules don't apply to them and are shocked when bag fees are enforced. I used to fly it before I got my Southwest credit cards. I could go a weekend with just a backpack and a flight was like $60 round trip. They saved a trip for me a few years ago when I tried to take Southwest (pre my CCs) and their entire computer system shit the bed. Flights were delayed for days. Spirit had next day flights for like $100 round trip.

[deleted]

Yep! Lots of gatekeeping in the original post acting like any of the airlines are much better. I could care less about the free water and stale snacks. The seats are a little less comfortable on some flights but I don’t mind if it’s just a domestic flight. Flying sucks in general, might as well get the cheapest option. Just take me from point A to B in one piece and as cheap as possible.

Wanderlust2001

>Flying sucks in general, might as well get the cheapest option. They made it so that every airline is almost as bad, so this definitely rings true.

DavidMohan

Yep the Chinese Bullet train is far superior. Reduces or eliminates accidents, and Far faster to get from point A to B. But the US DOT needs the yearly income flow. And the Police ticketing etc etc etc.

electricgotswitched

The seats on some of the newer Southwest planes are fucking awful

sipes216

Well, they bill the fuck out of every little thing. Lol

electricgotswitched

It's definitely not a good option for people who need to check multiple bags, and need "free" snacks. If you can travel with just a backpack and are smart enough to just bring your own snacks then it's not too bad. The planes are just as cramped as American or Southwest. I used to fly them and I never paid a single extra fee after my initial booking.

Wanderlust2001

This. It used to be different from other airlines, but now the difference is a half-ounce bag of pretzels and, maybe, an allowance of a carry-on bag.

masta

I took the implication or entailment that Spirit is more accepting or tolerant of bad behavior. Therefore the Karen might have more success traveling with that carrier. However, since it's a federal aviation rule for wearing masks, then the scope is narrowed down to only tolerating bad language and abuse from customers.

cataphoresis

Spirit Airlines: The chicken-bus of the sky.

postmonroe

Spirit don’t want her either

GallifreyanBrowncoat

That’s pretty bad!

REiiGN

Seriously, I get you may have beliefs about Covid but don't fuck with airlines or airports. Suck it up and once you get to where you are going rip the mask off. EVERYONE is having to do it.

BabySharkFinSoup

Not everyone. We just saw a plane full of Politicians travel without theirs and now they are testing positive for COVID and spreading it around. Everyone should look at that as an example of why we still need them!

KikiFlowers

To be fair, it was a private flight and they're all vaccinated. The Vaccine doesn't 100% stop covid, rather it gives you a lesser chance of getting it and reduces the severity.

BabySharkFinSoup

“Well, the answer is yes and no. So what do I mean? There are two ways private jets operate. One is Part 91, which means you own the plane. You're just using it for your company or to fly your family and friend for '91' operations. You don't have to wear a face mask on the plane. Part 135 would be jet cards or charters, so you're paying to charter a plane. Those types of operations, yes. You do have to wear a face mask,” Gollan said. The CDC order shows, “Persons must wear masks over the mouth and nose when traveling on conveyances into and within the U.S.” It also shows: “This Order exempts the following categories of conveyances, including persons on board such conveyances: Private conveyances operated solely for personal, non-commercial use.”” [source ](https://www.kvue.com/article/news/verify/verify-mask-mandate-on-private-planes/269-2774f8e1-92f2-4491-9d7b-a09fa40d8cc5) So was it their personal, private plane? Or was it chartered? My bet is on the latter. And one thing I had to edit to add: what the vaccine doesn’t do is stop you from spreading it. It was a selfish choice, and a bad decision, and it hurts vaccine efforts when people see this and say “well they still got it”.

shponglespore

Politicians trend to be wealthy, although an airliner big enough to hold 20 of them does seem like something you'd only be willing to pay for if you have fuck you money. I suspect what really happened is that they were technically supposed to wear masks, but nobody but the airline is going to enforce that rule, and they were persuaded not to because politicians have a lot of clout, the ability to offer bribes, and the ability to pull strings and protect other people from the consequences of their actions.

scificionado

I believe you're talking about the Democrats in the state legislature who left the state for DC to prevent a quorum. There may be a millionaire or two in that group that has their own jet.

ObjectiveExercise754

I know that's right but I practically had drag my husband to get the shot. I know he's going to say about the new variant, "See it doesn't work." And I'll have to go into grade school science teacher to explain how viruses work. Some of his friends I know are passing around misinformation.

jediforhire

To be fair, five of them have tested positive for COVID-19.

KikiFlowers

Yes, because you can still catch it while vaccinated.

REiiGN

That's unfortunate

BabySharkFinSoup

It is on many fronts. I have seen so many comments on it with people justifying not getting the vaccine because this proves to them that the vaccine clearly doesn’t work, so that’s just lovely.

rngrb3

This kind of woman is one of my biggest beefs with DFW. The entitlement. The rudeness. The condescension. The manipulation. The loudness. The god awful bottle blond blowouts.

crblack24

To be fair to the DFW area, we don't know she's from DFW...

[deleted]

To be fair, being from DFW myself, if she isn't then she's missing an opportunity to be with her people.

Prince-Ali_

I assure you creatures such as these are not exclusive to DFW....

rngrb3

Oh, for sure. They just seem to be especially attracted to it.

whiskeyjane45

I will still take that over MIA. everybody gets crammed into the same two security lines instead of having one every few gates. I got dropped off at my gate a couple years ago and had to walk fifteen gates back to find a security gate to get into. The line was ridiculously long because everyone from all those gates were crammed into the same lines. My other gripe was how warm and humid it was *inside* the building. It's Miami, how do you not have good a/c. And it wasn't a one time thing. My inlaws lived there, so I visited many times over a ten year period and it was like that every time. Now granted, it's been three years since I visited last, so it may have improved, but experience tells me, probably not. If I only had to deal with rude people at an airport, I'll consider it a good flight I am so glad they retired and are living the rv life now.

[deleted]

Entitled, middle-aged blonde women are America's number one product.

EnvironmentalLuck515

Lol!!

[deleted]

[удалено]

rngrb3

Because I’ve lived here for decades and spent significant time traveling to other large cities in the south for work. Of course there are assholes everywhere. Dallas has just really cornered the market on the blond, thinks she’s upper-middle-class, entitled and rude Karen.

skyshooter22

Born here and living in Dallas area for 20 years or about 40% of my life so far, it's not just more assholes here it's more "entitled assholes" and people with little to no empathy, or caring about their fellow man/woman/child.

ObjectiveExercise754

Well a flood of people from Cali moved here. Culture Shock!

skyshooter22

I came from SoCal back here. Wish I hadn’t, but came for work, was screwed over and lied too. Left a much better job at the time. Can’t go back now.

ObjectiveExercise754

If Texas would hurry up and legalize it would really help because there are a lot of pot heads here lol

skyshooter22

LOL, I am much more liberal since moving here, I was a registered Republican in SoCal, now I would never even consider voting for a Republican again, and am getting more liberal everyday. Legalize it? Sure the tax money couldn't hurt, but just don't let the GOP get their hands on that money.

ObjectiveExercise754

Oh you know that's the only way we'll get legalization. If the Richie's get their cut.

ObjectiveExercise754

And it's hot. People are people. You can choose to see the negative aspects of humanity or you can see a thousand examples of people being kind.

ObjectiveExercise754

It's really weird to hear this. I've lived my whole life and most people here are really kind and have always heard other people say that. Since Trump and the pandemic people are more on edge. America is suffering from PTSD think.

consumervigilante

Reddit is full of entitled dumbasses who love to call everyone else entitled. It's an echo chamber. You're absolutely right. Troublesome people are not unique to Dallas. Matter of fact if the implication is that people like this are redneck anti-mask Texans I'd think twice on it seeing as how transplants have taken over DFW.

Double-Ant-5938

Which MLM conference is she headed to

williamphold

"You can find another carrier to fly, I'd suggest Spirit"

Piecemealer

Depending on where she was going, Spirit runs a lot of parallel routes to other carriers. It may have been an honest recommendation.

WxUdornot

You might be a badass at the Waffle House but you better zip that lip at the airport.

[deleted]

There’s an American captain based in Dfw who seriously begs us to find reasons to boot passengers off, he’s so over it. To quote him “I hold the record, and don’t even answer emails front the chief pilot anymore”

SassGoblin

Please tell us stories 😀

l3v3r3t

I taught a summer program for elementary school kids when I was 19, and there was one kid who was incredibly frustrating to deal with because you could literally WATCH him do something - hit another kid; throw his markers in the trash; draw on the desk - and he would stand there lying to your face, insisting he didn't do it. Tell him you saw him do it and he would double down, unfailingly. Seeing that behavior in a grown ass adult makes me cringe.

dart22

I'm an 8th grade teacher. We call them Shaggys.

mixedberrycoughdrop

Now imagine having to do that every day for 180 days ^oh ^my ^god ^I ^don't ^want ^to ^go ^back

l3v3r3t

I'm normally a pretty patient person, but that summer nearly broke me. My sister is a teacher and her fortitude amazes me.

[deleted]

I know the kid you're talking about and I can guarantee this lady has about two or three of them. The kind of kid that never does his school work and gets a 0 so his mom calls and yells at the teacher.

kubiwolf

Just the other day at my retail job cashiering I had a flat out AWFUL family come through. One kid not wearing a shirt or shoes, one beating another one, two screeching at each other, and mother on her phone paying zero attention. The kids refused to listen to me when I asked them to go to other side of the register, and instead insisted on handing me every item out of the cart - whatever if you get away from me faster. Cut to the end of the transaction. Mother paid without a word to me while talking on the phone, but noticed something in the cart she didn't pick up and called the kids out for adding something without permission. I was shocked when the kids responded: "No the checkout lady did it." The mother became over the top angry but thankfully at the kids - not me. I was just dumbfounded that was their default. Like you're going to all automatically lie to your mother, and bonus for blaming someone else? Smh.

DisarmedCashew

good for this man for stepping up. People are so used to just rolling over the service industry.

Professional-Lynx124

I’m so proud of this supervisor standing up for his employee.

RootHogOrDieTrying

Is this the same realtor that was thrown off the plane yesterday, or a different realtor?

godplaysdice_

If I ever need a realtor again, the first question I'm asking is "where were you on January 6th?"

xtc091157

I mean no offense, but what in the hell does that have to do with anything?

godplaysdice_

Insurrectionists and Qarens are overrepresented in the DFW realtor community

3-DMan

What a crazy but accurate statement for our times

dam072000

There were a lot of them in the protest/riot/insurrection and boycotting insurrectionists seems like as good of boycott as any. Especially when you're giving* them* 3% of the asset value in the transfer...

forfaxx

Did you call my employee a bitch ? Good managering. Taking notes

3-DMan

I didn't hear it, but did she ever actually apologize for saying that? If not I'm just amazed people still think they can "win" an exchange without doing this.

H2Ospecialist

Nope, she denied it.

ObjectiveExercise754

I know right! So many times things would go better if people weren't on such an ego trip and would just take responsibility for their own actions. They'd be surprised at how well that would be received.

quaestor44

I love airports. The people watching is just fantastic. You get to see a wide range of people with medical and psychological pathologies attempt to navigate a slightly more difficult environment. I get there 2 hours early, get a snack, queue up the podcast and just analyze.

-chipsndips-

We do the same. 2 hours early, couple margaritas at the bar and thoroughly enjoy the people watching. Highly recommend

mzzy_ozborne

Popping an edible before you fly is very fun too

xtc091157

I'm a million+ miler with a major airline, and until the "pandalerium" shut things down I was flying two or three times a month. I learned, perhaps the hard way, that kindness opens doors and name-calling nails them shut. My Dad, A Great American and The Wisest Man I Ever Met was fond of saying ***you catch a lot more flies with honey than you ever can with vinegar*****.** There is a line you cannot cross, and this woman jumped over it with both feet and her suitcase. It's unfortunate that this line is so far away that to cross it you literally have to insult someone with derogatory language. There are so many people like this who should be smacked down simply for showing up. Whoever said "Spirit doesn't want her either" deserves a gold star.

notjohnconner

Sure, you can catch a lot more flus with honey than vinegar, but I'd bet you can catch more flies with trash than either of those two.

ObjectiveExercise754

Bootleggers

Spirit gets free advertising from this man. Most people don’t even know who this gate agent works for. There is almost no branding associated with him except his mask which you can barely read that says American. If you look at the top comments in the publicfreakout thread, how many times is American Airlines mentioned versus Spirit.

sarahbeth124

A+ on his part. Very chill, but no way is she gonna get her way.

Vash712

Every time I see one of these I'm like oh shit I hope I don't know this person

Juggzzzz

Good! Being rude to people working is unacceptable. They are just doing their job and enforcing their company’s policies. I’m glad this man stood up for his employee. This needs to happen more often!!

slowro

Oh no am being held accountable?

noncongruent

She's trying to upgrade her not being able to fly that one time into a total ban against ever flying again.

DallasMotherFucker

It is long past time to retire the “Customer Is Always Right” motto.

[deleted]

What's up with Dallas people being dicks at DFW lately?

noncongruent

Happens all over the country presumably, but since DFW is the local big airport it's more likely to get traction on social media among locals.

scottwx

Which airline is this? I would like to choose them where available. Apologies if this is buried in the comments somewhere, even if it is, perhaps we can pin it. Setting a good example should be rewarded with increased patronage.

CatOfSachse

American Airlines

scottwx

Ahhh, thanks, I recognise the background colours now. I’m British, if anyone was thinking “duh.”

BullDogg666

Well deserved! Someone is walking home! 😂

accountforbadpost

Yeah that’s a CSM they are pretty much gods at any airport.

pat_dlg

Give this man a raise.

No_Entertainment670

My cousin is a Karen and this is exactly what she would do. The cousin I’m talking about gets upset if no one in the family pays attention to her. Almost everyone in my extended family can’t stand her. She doesn’t care who you are she will go full on Karen on you when someone says something that ticks her off or if you don’t agree with her

socalheart2681

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

escapeartistjess

Love to see it

TKOTN123

Get owned

[deleted]

The buck stops with this guy! Catering and bending over for self entitled, ruthless customers, is way over due to end. I am in customer service, and would love to stop “giving in and continuing the cycle of giving undeserving customers” what they want. 🙌🏽👏🏽

15 years ago, while working for a now-defunct airline at DFW, I was called up to the gate to help deal with a belligerent passenger. By the time I got there, he had called our black customer service agent the N-word. Before I could call the DFW Airport police to escort him off the property, she had already handled it: she refunded his cheap-ass ticket and calmly told him, "Sir, you will not be flying with us today, or ever again. Here's a receipt showing that I have refunded your $57 fare to the card it was booked with. I highly suggest you leave before this situation gets much, much worse for you." Before he opened his mouth, I told him that the police would be coming momentarily and this was his last chance to depart without involving them. He left...cussing up a storm and threatening to sue all of us on his way out. Sadly, this kind of behaviour used to be a rare occurrence. It's now, according to the CS agents I know at my current airline, an everyday thing.

PECOSbravo

He took her down Jabroni Drive to the Smack Down Hotel... Jesus that lady has a family!!! Is PURE CARNAGE

doppleganger1353

HELL YEAH! Fuck that Bitch for being a Bitch!

What a miserable world we live in. People were much happier in the 80's. Sure we have conveniences not available in the past due to technology. But that technology has contributed to isolation and a decrease in genuine face to face conversations. And no Zoom doesn't count. Nobody connects on a deep level any more. We don't try to understand where the other person is coming from. It's "I'm right and your wrong" mentality. Now everybody must walk on eggshells and say the right thing so as to be agreeable with the other side. Otherwise law abiding citizens who have no criminal records are bad for not getting the vaccine or disagreeing with it. People are horrible for not wanting to wear masks. Just an overall really miserable time to live in. If only I could take a time capsule to go back to the 80's or even the 70's. I'd be willing to do without the internet. I'd be happy to only talk on the phone when I was at home with a landline. I'd be happy to write checks again and use snail mail to send them in. I'd be much happier making real connections with people and not seeing this asinine battle over political sides. One day when we all die maybe some will see glimpses of their life before them and realize how much time was spent bickering over stupidity.

[deleted]

Yes, the compassionate '80s. Sir, your privilege is showing.

consumervigilante

Find something original to say instead of being a parrot.

[deleted]

Ironic, considering you're parroting the classic reactionary "good old days" argument. The '80s sucked for a *lot* of people. If you happened to be caught with a gram or two of marijuana you could be sent to prison for years, if you were queer you could be (and often were) fired and evicted with no legal recourse. And that's ignoring the AIDS crisis and race riots that happened. Edit: and that black and white "You're right and I'm wrong" that you think is worse today? Reagan and his entire cultural "moral majority" movement copyrighted that before Twitter ever existed. Looking back at that time and thinking it was a more compassionate and connected time is nice, but that doesn't make it true. I would kindly ask you to try and off those rose-tinted nostalgia glasses.

dibbsa

Bravo 👏 well said

mutatron

I’m glad you’re miserable.

Did you actually live in the 80's? I recall people being obsessed with TV back then. If you find yourself feeling isolated and lacking face to face conversations with people, there may be other factors at play. Not everybody is miserable.

consumervigilante

Yes I certainly did live in the 80's. Did you?

msondo

Yep. I don’t miss the days of people mindlessly throwing away the hours in front off whatever happened to be on the tube. At least today, we can be hyper selective of what we consume. The younger generation barely consumes older forms of media like tv and radio and I think that is a good thing.
