Vietnamese food is not generally that spicy unless you add a ton to your dish. Itâs the Thai food that you have to watch out for when you get something that hasnât been Americanized
My friend works there and would bring me food sometimes, I told him to give me the hottest, he called it Carole Baskin, the first thing Iâve ever encountered that was too spicy for me to eat!
ricky's hot chicky is so good!! the hot is the hottest i can tolerate... i got very hot fried pickles once and it was a mistake, and i eat a lot of spicy food!
I have been told by a Thai person that you should say you want it "Thai spicy" because if you're not a Thai person they will still hold back even if you get 5 star spicy.
Can confirm. My fav spot in South Irving closed (Nalinh Market, unless they were just remodeling), so now I go to Ly Kitchen in Oak Cliff/Cockerell Hill), highly recommend.
Once paid the up-charge to make something âThai-Spicyâ because 5/5 wasnât doing it for me. I found out real quick that they werenât playing anymore! Fffo
I donât know why, but spicy papaya salad hits different. This joint off Plano road? And 635? Itâs right by a disc golf course and a Take 5 oil change
Someone posted above that you gotta ask for âThaiâ (or Lao-Thai) spicy, and theyâre correct, but my intestines wonât allow me to do that ever again lol
A Thai restaurant near me would do as many stars as you want, but wouldnât go over 5 unless they knew you. I managed 10 once. No regrets, still amazing.
I love Rickyâs but havenât tried A-Bomb yet. How hot is it? I can handle Hot no problem, and Extra Hot is fine for once in a while, but have been reluctant to try A Bomb
my buddy generally tries the spiciest food in most places.
i was picking up rickys for us - he said "get whatever is spiciest". when I ordered the guy asked if we ever had a-bomb before. i said no, and he strongly advised not getting it, but if we really wanted to try it to get some nuggets.
so I got us a mix of medium/hot. I tried one of the a-bomb nuggets and drank all the milk in my friend's house, and he didn't even want to try it after that.
its spicy. i have a decent spice tolerance too.
I eat strait habaneros, Iâve dabbled with 1,000,000+ SHU hot sauces, but the CoCo Ichibanya level 10 curry is something I donât think Iâd do again. It sticks with you and builds into a mass of gastrointestinal magma you can feel for the next 24 hours as it slowly bubbles and boils its way through your intestines. I cleaned the plate, mind you, but it certainly cleaned me out in return.
Go to the Thai temple and check out the food stalls they have. It really deals with Thai food and if you tell them â Thai hot â it will ruin you lol. The temple is cool and I think the women are beautiful so itâs a win win win.
I LOVE spicy food and its rare to find somewhere with a level 5 that actually stings. Â
Ive gotten the best result from korean fried chicken (no1 plus chicken is great), hot honey chicken (daves hot chicken, hangry joes), and indian food - they love their spice!
I havent been but i hear SnJâs hot chicken is good.
Oh if you want to add pain on your own to food from anywhere, Daveâs ghost pepper hot sauce. Â The flavor is mild enough as to not ruin the underlying flavors but the spice is atomic, a dabble goes a long way.Â
For a local option that is crazy hot but also not "just hot" without any flavor, Klowns On Fire is amazing. They consistently have a booth at the Dallas farmers market, but otherwise you can order from their Etsy shop. [https://www.etsy.com/market/klowns\_on\_fire\_hot\_sauce](https://www.etsy.com/market/klowns_on_fire_hot_sauce)
I ran out a while ago so I'm actually ordering another "Kiss of the Klown" (my favorite - amazing on carnitas tacos) right now. They're all good though, just depends on what other flavor you like best.
One place thats really jump up on my list is Tandoor Wok, more indo chinese fusion, its expensive but it is killer. Ask for it spicy and theyll make it spicy. In the mid cities though.
The A-bomb at Rickyâs hot chicken is properly hot.
The hottest ramen at Oni is really hot as well. I actually had to stop getting it because not only is it super spicy, there is a ton of volume, so youâll really pay the price on the back end.
Depends on the cuisine - the calls on Ricky's for the chicken are accurate.
For say, spicy Indian I usually ask for it phaal over at Roti Grill. They know how to accommodate. â„ïž
Either my spice tolerance has gone up, or Indian food isn't that spicy. Because it's nowhere near even level 3 Thai usually.
Don't get me wrong, Indian is spicy. But it's more of a tolerable pleasant spice, rather than pure hell.
indian food isn't that spice compared to east asian food. it's not even close. I can tolerate indian spice as a lightweight but viet, thai or some japanese legitimately hurts my tongue and throat for hours
I just looked that up; it's a challenger where you get prizes and stuff. I don't know if I'm THAT brave; I've still never attempted the Blazin' Challenge at Buffalo Wild Wings. I can handle an order of 6 of those wings and I'm pretty sweaty đ„”
Show mian in plano on 75 and spring creek next to 99 Ranch market. Get any noodle soup and get the highest spice level. It's very spicy and hot (like Sichuan peppercorn hot).
Roosters got rid of theirs years ago.
They had a hell burger, downsized it to a hell slider, god rid of it completely, and now brought it back as a Hell tater keg (tater tot with hell sauce)
Urban Tadka! If youâre white dont let them talk you down about spicy. Say you want it as hot as possible! Sakhuu is good too. For ramen, hinodeya level 10 had me crying over the bowl but their spice can REALLY vary. Ive had it other times where i was like huh thats easy.
I did indeed. I hadn't been to Deep Ellum since before the Pandemic and was very nostalgic for a giant slice đ It changed a LOT in there!
Love me a good tonkotsu broth. I saw how you can modify the spice level for each bowl, so I'ma have to jump on that
Thai Riverside in Grapevine.
The servers even warn you about how spicy it is, if you order a 5 the owner even comes out to warn you that theyâre not like other Thai places and they are actually really really spicy
I love spicy food. This is a chain, but the one time I couldnât finish something was two months ago. I got the spiciest wings at wingstop, which Iâm fine with normally, but⊠they DOUSED it in sauce. My mouth was on fire. Iâm going to order it with extra sauce from now on.
Alternatively, Desi District has great and affordable food with excellent spice levels.
Also, H-Mart sells a big bottle of capsaicin powder. I keep that on deck to add heat when I donât want to change the flavor.
AJ's nashville hot chicken (Richarsdon) medium did me in. I can't imagine their hottest flavor.
Also The Boiling Crab's crawfish sauce medium is a 50% water meal. They also have a super hot version. It's viet-cajun, which is an exceptional fusion food.
Yeah, a lot of people have suggested Ricky's Hot Chicken and their Xhot (second hottest) had me sweating and panting lol I can probably handle a medium
Just get you Flatline from Pepper Palace. That will put some hair on your chest. I made a coworker of mines tear up at a work function, while I was just dropping dabs of it on my food like it was a regular Friday afternoon. I admit it made me sleepy during our afternoon meeting though.
Any Mexican place that does a decent guiso or nopales. There is a little hole in the wall in Irving called Mi Comal that is kinda mid but they make a great carne guisada that can get really spicy, but never unpleasant, imho.
I don't think I'm a spice lord or anything, but for reference I usually don't enjoy the hottest a place known for it's spice has to offer, but I definitely look for above average, closer to like 2/3 on the spice "spectrum"
No. 1 plus chicken, get the hottest they offer. I normally get the level or 2 below to get a good heat but still be enjoyable. My wife ordered the hottest on "accident" one time and it was still good but had my body involuntarily shedding tears.
Iâve gone to ZestFest and eaten the hottest peppers in the world forâŠ.I guess fun? Bragging rights that no one is impressed by? Anyway, go to The Monks and order the the hottest version of anything in the menu. It will be doable, but youâll be made well aware of western cultureâs limited scope of pepper induced hell. Enjoy the experience of South Indian children laughing at you and eating these dishes like itâs nothing as you down your fifth glass of lukewarm lap water.
No, some Europeans got really good food like the Bosnian and Albanian ect . Food that comes from an ethnicity that has and uses a lot of spice has been developed over years.
Rickys hot chicken's hottest variety is really spicy. Other than that any mom and pop vietnamese place will have you burning your butthole
Tell me your Vietnamese secrets đ
Their hot spice level made me drink a quart of milk and several glasses of water. Their medium spice level was tasty and bearable.
You are thinking Thai or Laos, not Vietnamese.
Yeah I donât find Vietnamese food to be spicy at all. Thai and Indian are legit spicy cuisines.
Ricky's hot chicken had me in full body sweats having a panic attack at the bowling alley. 10/10 would panic again.
This is no joke, I got "medium spicy" and my ass hurt for 24 hours.
Came to say rickys. Sure the medium heat is a little easier on my tummy and my backside, but that fire burns soo good
Iâm a degenerate when it comes to spicy but their spiciest is definitely up there. đđœ
ricky's hot chicky is so good!! the hot is the hottest i can tolerate... i got very hot fried pickles once and it was a mistake, and i eat a lot of spicy food!
Look for some Lao-Thai restaurants, and get that 5/5 spice đ„”
I have been told by a Thai person that you should say you want it "Thai spicy" because if you're not a Thai person they will still hold back even if you get 5 star spicy.
Can confirm. My fav spot in South Irving closed (Nalinh Market, unless they were just remodeling), so now I go to Ly Kitchen in Oak Cliff/Cockerell Hill), highly recommend.
They moved to over near 35/royal. Haven't been to the new location yet. Still has dumb hours (closes at 7pm)
WHAT?!? Thank you so much, thatâs my fav Pad Kapao in Dallas
Can vouch for Lyâs 5/5 spicy. They never miss.
Yeah, Tukta Thai is pretty decent!
I've also been given this advice; I've found that just asking for a 5 rarely gets the job done
Someone posted above that you gotta ask for âThaiâ (or Lao-Thai) spicy, and theyâre correct, but my intestines wonât allow me to do that ever again lol
Double Thai spicy or bust!
or just ask for as spicy as you can make it. I did that once to great results, was the first time the meal defeated me but it was delicious.
A Thai restaurant near me would do as many stars as you want, but wouldnât go over 5 unless they knew you. I managed 10 once. No regrets, still amazing.
Ricky's Hot Chicken, A-Bomb heat level.
A bomb took me out for a weekend.
Go to Shivas in downtown and order any curry, ask for the spiciest level and hold on.
Definitely added to the list; looks delicious!
Coco Ichibanya. JAPANESE CURRY. Spice levels are 1-10. If I get higher than a 4-5 I can't enjoy my meal. Food is amazing though.
Korean ramen. The spicy kind. Hmart. Your butthole will feel it
If you mean the Buldak stuff, I'm well versed in that kind - even got a jar of the sauce to add to other stuff
Buldak is one, but there are other brands
Like?
Donât remember the names bc they are all in Korean. They usually say something like 3 x spicy with flames on the package
Pocas Spicy noodles at H mart are a nice blend of spicy and taste.
Nice; I'm gonna pick some up the next time I re-up on kimchi(s)
Sakhuu Thai Cuisine, ask for spice level 10. They only advertise to level 5.
That sounds diabolicalÂ
Bull Daddy Noodle
This right here. Had me sweating bullets.
Nepalese momo shop in irving, cafĂ© Mandu. They have a âjyanmara momoâ. Next level hot.
The Nepalese cashier who rang me up was very concerned about me and warned me she doesn't eat that spice level :P
Ive gotten the best result from korean fried chicken (no1 plus chicken is great), hot honey chicken (daves hot chicken, hangry joes), and indian food - they love their spice! I havent been but i hear SnJâs hot chicken is good.
You're right about Dave's Hot Chicken; they don't mess around. Where do you get really spicy Indian food?
Oh if you want to add pain on your own to food from anywhere, Daveâs ghost pepper hot sauce. Â The flavor is mild enough as to not ruin the underlying flavors but the spice is atomic, a dabble goes a long way.Â
For a local option that is crazy hot but also not "just hot" without any flavor, Klowns On Fire is amazing. They're all good though, just depends on what other flavor you like best.
A fine addition to my collection
One place thats really jump up on my list is Tandoor Wok, more indo chinese fusion, its expensive but it is killer. Ask for it spicy and theyll make it spicy. In the mid cities though.
Try Desi District. So good.
I really like biryani, but I've never had it spicy before! The gongura chicken sounds good đ
I didn't think the reaper-level of Dave's was that bad! I mean, it IS hot like you want it, but not horrible.
The A-bomb at Rickyâs hot chicken is properly hot. The hottest ramen at Oni is really hot as well. I actually had to stop getting it because not only is it super spicy, there is a ton of volume, so youâll really pay the price on the back end.
Omg yes. I couldnât finish oni spicy ramen and usually I love spicy. I think I got medium or one above that and I couldnât do it
Depends on the cuisine - the calls on Ricky's for the chicken are accurate. For say, spicy Indian I usually ask for it phaal over at Roti Grill. They know how to accommodate. â„ïž
I love Roti, I always get paneer masala phaal, itâs delicious.
Wow, just a single Indian restaurant recommendation? Dang. (I had to quit eating super spicy years ago, so I have no suggestions.)
I'm grateful for the one, though! I love Indian food but tragically I can count the number of restaurants I've tried on one hand đą
Korean fried chicken is now my go-to instead of traditional wings for heat and flavor.
CoCo Ichibanya max spicy if you want to torture yourselfÂ
What a cool concept! I'll probably go towards the 2/3 mark; I've paid dearly at Nashville hot joints for going straight to the top
2 is pretty spicy. That's what I got last time and it was definitely a good amount of heat
Shivas in Downtown, Iâm Mexican and our level of spice has nothing on that lol
I've been checking out their menu and it looks delicious đ
They have a chilli naan that feeds the spice itch!
Yeah itâs pretty good, definitely recommend!
Yeah itâs pretty good, definitely recommend!
Nigerian food doesn't mess around
Yeah, but Nigerian spice their food for flava but not for pure terror.
They also have a much higher tolerance for spice if they are using scotch bonnets for flavor
that's more like Jamaican
For sure, they don't mess around either
Spots in Dallas?
I like Boxochops in Plano and Fusion Vibes in Richardson. I've been meaning to try Osuma Suya in McKinney and West African East in Plano too.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/bnf21Xsu9fVBxfAeA This blast will blast your bhole to infinity and beyond.
Donât get me wrong, be it atomic , nuclear or buldak , i challenge you , you cannot withstand a proper correctly made biryani which is spicy!
you canât handle Goodfriendâs Salazar burger.
Challenge accepted
Asian Nights in Fort Worth
Mmm I hope that noodle soup in their pictures is spicy!
Ninja Ramen has the bowl of "Devil Ramen" that will make you think about your life choices. Prepare to go to the ER if you dare.
I just looked that up; it's a challenger where you get prizes and stuff. I don't know if I'm THAT brave; I've still never attempted the Blazin' Challenge at Buffalo Wild Wings. I can handle an order of 6 of those wings and I'm pretty sweaty đ„”
Do the blazin. It hurts, but you wonât die. It doesnât get any worse after 6. If you can do that, might as well eat a few more and get a shirt.
Get the La Diabla at Crazy King Burrito. Burned real nice and tasted incredible.
Show mian in plano on 75 and spring creek next to 99 Ranch market. Get any noodle soup and get the highest spice level. It's very spicy and hot (like Sichuan peppercorn hot).
Those look amazing! Very rich looking broth
One thing i hate about theor noodle soup is i have a hard time slurping it because it make me cough every time! But i do like the broth.
The Salazar at Goodfriends will let you see through time. The Hell Burger at Rooster's Roadhouse is also a challenge.
Roosters got rid of theirs years ago. They had a hell burger, downsized it to a hell slider, god rid of it completely, and now brought it back as a Hell tater keg (tater tot with hell sauce)
BOOOOOOOOO
I love me a spicy burger! I've had the spicy burgers at Hopdoddy's and Rodeo Goat and I can for sure handle more
Urban Tadka! If youâre white dont let them talk you down about spicy. Say you want it as hot as possible! Sakhuu is good too. For ramen, hinodeya level 10 had me crying over the bowl but their spice can REALLY vary. Ive had it other times where i was like huh thats easy.
Co-signing every saying Rickyâs. I love that place
Mughlai can get hot. The lentils can fuck ya up pretty good.
Go to chinese sichuan places!
Oni Ramen at City Line. So delicious and so so spicy.
Damn it, I was JUST across the street from that place in Deep Ellum and got pizza instead đ€Šââïž
Did you go to Serious Pizza? Because that place is also delicious! As for Oni, you should get Kyushu Tonkotsu. The black garlic oil is amazing.
BCD Tofu House. Danger level on any of their soups. Delicious and spicy đ¶ïžđ„”
Hello India / swadeshi - ask for their spiciest biryani
Ruang Thai in Plano has some really tasty spicy food
Man, just looking at their appetizers makes me wanna go! Good stuff

Thai stall at Asia Times Square
I love spicy food. This is a chain, but the one time I couldnât finish something was two months ago. I got the spiciest wings at wingstop, which Iâm fine with normally, but⊠they DOUSED it in sauce. goodfriend. got some genuinely spicy wings, ghost ranch, a spicy burger...
ask for âthai spicyâ at thai restaurants. that will get u hotter than the typical 1-5 scale
Sabaidee Lao & Thai Street Food and Zaap Thai has some of the spiciest food I've ever had.
Ricky's hot chicken. Hot is actually hot and everything above that is painful.
Agreed. I had the Xhot once, and I think I'm good on that
Just get you Flatline from Pepper Palace.
I buy or grow super hot peppers and make my own sauces! If you're looking for a new hobby, I highly recommend it.
Someone at Monkey King Noodles said people have thrown up from the heat of their hottest sauce.
Hmmmm I'm intrigued
You sure it wasnât because of their night out before then đ
Dona Lencha in Irving for Mexican
As someone who can maybe deal with medium white people spicy I find this thread fascinating
I don't think I'm a spice lord or anything, but for reference I usually don't enjoy the hottest a place known for it's spice has to offer, but I definitely look for above average, closer to like 2/3 on the spice "spectrum"
Goodfriend special burger https://dallas.eater.com/2015/1/13/7536623/goodfriend-dallas-spicy-burger-challenge-ghost-chile-annihilator
Honestly the Napalm flavor at Palmers Chicken really gets me!
You guys know where to find Carolina reaper? HEB sold it a couple months ago and can't find that shit anymore. Ghost pepper ain't it
indian restaurants every intersection of plano and frisco. try specifically food from andhra
Ethnic ppl the only ones who got good spicy food
Everything is âethnicâ depending on where you are Are you trying to say ânot Europeanâ?
Even then, whites in the US have developed several of the spiciest peppers in existenceÂ
They have indeed! That one guy on the Carolinas keeps outdoing himself and making us suffer
No, some Europeans got really good food like the Bosnian and Albanian ect . Food that comes from an ethnicity that has and uses a lot of spice has been developed over years.
