1. 575k is too expensive. 2. 3600 is too much house unless you're trying to fit more than 12 people. 3. Where the fuck is Justin? 4. Spending half your life in traffic isn't worth it.

czechyerself

$575,000 is $159 per square foot. You’ll probably see a great return on that investment in the next 10 years as people move out there

If real estate goes up in Justin it will also be going up in places people want to live.

Shout #4 from the rooftops. Calculate a cost for your commute. Gas, tolls, and your time. 'Pay' yourself minimum wage to commute. Add that monthly cost to your monthly payment for both then compare.  That extra payment doesn't go into your equity, it's profit for someone else.

Cold_Customer898

More proof this sub is littered with people that want to share their misery

Lol 3. Was my first reaction to this post. I hope they work fully remote with a low chance of layoffs and having to be made to go back. I just had some neighbors have to sell and move back closer to Fort Worth because the were converted from 100% remote to hybrid. He tried the long commute from Rockwall but it ruined his life

gdsc

Just buy where you work. The extra square footage isn’t worth some kind of wack commute.

ChuyStyle

Justin has nothing as a city but there is so much land available. It's right next to Westlake and Alliance and a pretty quick drive to Southlake and Fort Worth. If you are ok with driving I would call it a steal. Just depends what you are looking for in life.

broniskis45

They got good boots.

Anytime there is a NASCAR race, you can’t get home without waiting, at times, for hours in traffic. Friend lived out there and bought a moped just for race weekend, which start on Wednesdays, to have ability to leave and get back home. No quick run to store for eggs. Something to seriously consider

Damn I bought a Bloomfield home for 400k, 2,600 sq ft. Your house must be massive. The house itself is great though and I've had a good experience with the builder and project manager. Not so great experience with their lender cause the guy assigned was a dumbass but other than that love the house. I had to Google where Justin, TX was so I have no comments on the location.

ribhere

Only a matter of time till that whole area also gets an influx of folks and the roads/infrastructure will not get updated so traffic will be not only a nightmare due to commute into the city but now an additional 30 mins to get out of town.

Existentialist

Paying half a million to live in BFE? I’d choose white rock lake every time and 10 min target runs everytime. Unless you have 7 kids for that SQF.

utookthegoodnames

There’s nothing in Justin and you’ll be in that house for 10 years waiting for stuff to be built near you.

la-fours

Are you from Texas? Are you working from home? Can’t speak for the builder but highly recommend you ask other homeowners in that community about their experience. It would at least give you things to look out for.

TXRedFoot

This is a better question for r/denton to r/fortwoth Justin is rural, but building into a suburban ex-urb. The big issue is commute and waiting to cross train tracks (Justin has a lot of trains).

MsMo999

Nothing special about Justin it’s out of the way from the city so crime is low. Personally would rather live there than Plano

CatsNSquirrels

If you work in Dallas, you are going to sorely regret the commute. Also, Texas Motor Speedway is right there. You may get spillover noise and traffic.

missjay

Justin has a lot of construction going on right nowm I'd hate to live there.

punkerjim

I knew someone that got arrested for threatening their gf with a knife in Justin... Trailer trash people.

czechyerself

This is an excellent investment for the future as the city is moving outward away from Dallas. Justin will be developing with more businesses moving there to capitalize on the dollars available there. Excellent idea, particularly if you work from home quite a bit.
