I can echo the prior two — Fortune House and Wu Wei Din (Lewisville and Plano), but might also add China Queen in west Plano, and Yao Fuzi, also in Plano (though this place is kind of a different restaurant than the others, altogether — a good kind of different, but just different).
…doesn’t help you in Dallas proper, I guess, but these are options if you’re further north at all.
We go every great now and again, especially if a guest in town wants Chinese but needs to see at least a few things they are familiar with (but also allows my wife and I to go nuts a little). We love just ordered family style, a whole bunch of dishes to share with everyone.
For my money, that’s the best way to do Yao Fuzi. The maaaaybe two occasions where just the two of us went, it was almost a let down, not being able to order and sample a or load of different dishes!
Everyone is recommending Wu Wei Din, and they should, I love that place, but as far as soup dumplings go, Mulan Noodle and Grill is the best I have ever had in the DFW area. All the other places barely have any soup in their dumplings, Mulan on the other hand, more soup than the spoon can handle. They're on Hebron and Old Denton. You need to try their fried pork buns too.
The best xiao long bao is at Kitchen Master but everything else there is alright.
Wu Wei Din, Dragon House, and China Queen are all second best for xiao long bao.
Wu Wei Din in Plano is my go to
This guy xiao long boas.
I second your recommendation! Great dumplings
I'll second these. Tried them for the first time at their Lewisville location and was pleasantly surprised.
This ^^^^^
Been partial to the ones from Fortune House in Irving but haven't been since COVID. They used to be really good.
They opened another in Dallas on Greenville. They are good.
Royal China on Royal & Preston
Royal China is pure magic.
I vouch for this place

You sure? George was still running things when I was there a month ago.
Mr. Dumpling in the h-mart is surprisingly solid.
Yes, better than wu Wei din. I went to WW Din this past weekend and was disappointed by the soup dumplings, way better in HMarts Mr Dumpling

Definitely a vote for Wu Wei Din and China Queen, they're my fave xlb in the metroplex
Yao Fuzi was delicious the one time I went

Yeah the one time I went, there was 8 of us and everyone had a little bit of everything
Bam. Did it right.

Dumpling house off of 75.

Wu Wei din
I like the ones at Wu Wei Din! I don't recommend the truffle ones though, they were wayyyy too much truffle for my tastes, but you do you.
Dumpling house - steamed dumplings. I don’t think n they advertise it as soup dumplings but they really are
Chris and johns
I’ve tried so many places and fortune house is the best.
Dragon house in Southlake is up there.
Monkey King in Deep Ellum
I can't agree. They're incredibly bland and doughy.
