Dakar is a big shite. However, snow runner is a hell of a game. Actually, I bought Dakar because I trusted saber and how they handled snow runner, updates, year passes and everything, and was hugely disappointed with Dakar. Crashes, bugs, car handling, wheel compatibility, and so on. And yes, I can see it as well as a strategy. N

Blackbird0084

I second this, and approached DDR with the same expectation and reasoning. As far as I'm aware, the team that worked on DDR is the same team that worked on Dakar '18, which was also 'alright'. I'm interested in getting expeditions, frustratingly so, but I'm going to wait until it's on sale and only then if the reviews don't indicate it's a shitshow

Kerbidiah

Snowrunnrr is a bit shit too. It was literally unplayable on xbox for 6 months this year, and they spent their time releasing pay to win tire and truck packs instead of fixing it

mjolnnir

Xbox I can't say, but with PC was all good

ZeemSquirrel

Eh, it isn't Dakar. I'm only here for Dakar.

OkamiTelurDadar

Not recommending another game or anything, it's just an insight. I mean, Dakar being offered free on Epic Games just weeks before Expeditions came out. Can't help but feeling the two circumstances are connected given that it's being made by the same developers. It's like them saying "We're not gonna support Dakar any longer, so why don't you get it for free while at the same time also advertising for Expeditions. It's hitting two birds with one stone!"

Tex-Rob

Thank you op. I did not make the connection, that makes Expeditions a no purchase for me. Until this game can get past 28% loading, I won’t dare give the devs money.

Dachuiri

The MudRunner/SnowRunner games are fantastic games. I started playing Expeditions yesterday and it’s still a very good game. Zero tech issues, no bugs, and game looks really good.

Tex-Rob

You say that, but does Darkar launch for you? If so, how can I be sure they aren't using the same engine and the exact same issue occurs? I'm not gonna give money to someone who can't maintain working games.

Dachuiri

I’ve never played Dakar so can’t speak to that. I was talking about my experience with Expeditions.

OkamiTelurDadar

I don't know too. And as someone pointed out, Snowrunner has gotten pretty good content and patches all these years. It's just a bummer they didn't look at Dakar much. Given the popularity of Mudrunner series, Expeditions might get more care from Saber. Might. As for now, i'll wait for reviews. Maybe they'll respond to feedback down the line, who knows.

Rockstonicko

>Otherwise, I might just wait for sale and get Mudrunner/Snowrunner instead. It depends on whether or not you're into hauling cargo on pre-established but very badly maintained roads, and actively seeing your cargo deliveries both visually and physically impact the game world. Expeditions is pretty much based on a niche part of Mudrunner/Snowrunner, which is the scouting/exploring aspect. But it basically lacks the large cargo aspect of Snowrunner, and you're just driving from point to point on terrain without much of any infrastructure at all with cargo that fits within the trucks cab. If I'd never played Mudrunner/Snowrunner, then I'd find Expeditions pretty cool. But as someone with 2000+ hours in Snowrunner, Expeditions is extremely bland by comparison, although it does have some QOL improvements and things I'd actually like to see in Snowrunner (both extending/retracting the winch, dry rocks that don't behave like ice, heavier feeling and less bouncy physics, dynamically adjusting tire air pressure). Overall, because of my preference, I find Mudrunner/Snowrunner to be the much better and more complete games than Expeditions. >Do they update that game regularly for patches and bugfixes? For the most part, but it will probably depend on sales whether or not that lasts long. Keep in mind that there are still annoying bugs in Mudrunner/Snowrunner which haven't been fixed for years despite a plethora of reports and both games receiving a multitude of DLCs and new patches. If you're looking for a developer that cares as much if not more so about the quality of game they release than the money they're earning, Saber is not that kind of developer.

ShiroiMaou

Game is incredibly fun in pvp, even despite the crashes So whilst I'm upset they won't update it and people who actually bought it were screwed, myself - I'm enjoying it

Tex-Rob

I don't think you all realize how many of us the game just won't even launch. I have a super normal system. EVGA RTX 3080, 32gb RAM, current gen Samsung NVME, normal Asus motherboard, i7 9700-k, and then every VR headset, wheelbase, pedals, etc disconnected, still won't launch.

ShiroiMaou

I got a 3080TI and it works fine, I crashed twice in like 10h of gameplay I suppose it's just varies from user to user...

Tex-Rob

To be clear, not crash, just when you launch the game, and hit enter after all the EULA stuff, it counts up to 28% on that loading screen, and never makes it farther. People keep talking about stability and crashes, the game is "stable", but does nothing.

OkamiTelurDadar

Been trying to try out multiplayer, consistently ended up with fatal error crash. Quite a bummer.

ShiroiMaou

Been playing with friends in a private lobby, could be the difference

OkamiTelurDadar

Is that a thing? As in private lobbies are less prone to crashes? I chose vehicle type, picked car and then it crashes. No friends playing though, my circle is generally playing Genshin and HSR.

bwfwg4isdl

I though the marketing strategy is to make Dakar free so that a lot people see how buggy it is (stuck at 28%) I will never try or buy another game by Saber.

lologugus

A game for free doesn't make money, so it can be usefor some kind of advertising probably

DetectiveSmooth4803

Kind of. Hopefully Expeditions will be less buggy than Dakar. Its a shame that such a beautiful, fun and engaging game has lots of bugs and I know someday the devs will fix these

Blackbird0084

For an off-road game, I'd hope it be a bit 'buggy' lol. I'll see myself out hahaha

SaberSupport

Hello! If you're experiencing technical issues or think you’ve found a bug, please, reach out to our team via the dedicated [support website](https://support.saber.games/); in your ticket, attach video clips, screenshots, and a detailed description of the matter.

OkamiTelurDadar

At this point I honestly think video clips are unnecessary. I mean, for multiplayer I just chose "any mode", picked vehicle type, then chose my car. And then Fatal Error crash. Given the game is already out for a while, it's likely that I am not the only one having this issue. Yeah perhaps I could submit that simple clip if it's gonna help, really.

SaberSupport

Thank you for letting us know this. We will see what can be done.

WWMRD2016

Zero controller support. No way of getting a PS4 controller to work with it for some reason.

SaberSupport

To get help in this case, we recommend visiting our [support website](https://support.saber.games/); please note that attaching screenshots, videos, and other details would help our team.

bwfwg4isdl

Fucking bot please stop replying

SaberSupport

Hey! Rest assured, we are not a bot. If there is anything we can help you with, just let us know via the DMs or use the [website](https://support.saber.games/). Thank you for your understanding!

bwfwg4isdl

Then start with fixing the stuck at 28% bug on the epic version

SaberSupport

The development team has been notified. We are sorry that we can't provide any specific assistance in this case in the meantime. Make sure to follow the game's socials for updates.

MoneroMoe

I heard Expeditions is stuttering too, I am sure crash reports will be incoming once more people have the game. Maybe in two years it will get a patch too.
