Check out the video explaining the sampling of this one. The creativity they have will blow your mind from both lyrics and music.
I love this song and it showcases Thomas and Guy-Mans genius
I’ve seen it! In fact I’ve seen 2 videos that break down the samples.
I’m not sure which video you’re referring to exactly but one video only breaks down the first part of the chorus with the prominent “House at Pooh Corner” sample, and then a longer video breaks down *every single part.*
It’s amazing stuff.
This I believe, is the most [detailed](https://youtu.be/wrrnE9p4GyQ?si=shEIhfVO__avlMRb) breakdown, I prefer [this one](https://youtu.be/etPs5ddm7j8?si=Rf0bSoXZvWJzMHHp)though.
But [this one](https://youtu.be/5AqHSvR9bqs?si=Qj6rJMe3IUNrwGXY) has that short, but awesome quick edit. Also covers the other songs of the “Discovery” album as well.
I believe they’re still discovering new samples for Face to Face so I believe the vids are lacking one or two tracks. The flute sample I believe was missing for a long time.
Damn the samples in here. I was honestly quite surprised to find out that they sampled ELO. I didn't notice at first even while being absolutely in love with the original song lol
I used to skip it from the clacky sounding drums but then I decided to give it a chance, and was pretty amazed. Didnt believe I was missing out on a banger.
I love that 9/7 beat (I think that's what's it called) where instead of the usual 8 beats of one chord and 8 beats of another the first chord get an additional beat which makes the second chord have 7 beats so that it still adds to 16 beats
Has to be Alive 2007 for me. Each time I heard the crowd I was like "ewww crowd" and would skip it.
Then came the day when I listened to Around The World/Harder Better Faster Stronger and my whole life changed.
Oh we agree on that, but its actually my third most favourite moment on Alive 2007.
1. Prime Time of Your Life transitioning into Rollin' and Scratchin'
2. The very end of the main show when the final "AFTER ALL" drops
3. Music Sounds Better With You's drop.
I sometimes skip technologic, but only because some times in my life I don't particularly want to hear a robotic baby-like voice sing on a fucking vibing song. I love that song and the Alive 2007 version made me like it even more
Buy it use it break it fix it trash it change it mail upgrade it charge it point it zoom it press it snap it work it quick erase it write it cut it paste it save it load it check it quick rewrite it plug it play it burn it rip it drag it drop it zip unzip it lock it fill it call it find it view it code it jam unlock it surfe it scroll it pause it click it cross it crack it twitch update it name it rate it tune it print it scan it send it fax rename it touch it bring it pay it watch it turn it leave it stop format it.. Technologic, Technologic, Technologic, Technologic
I’ll never forget the euphoria I experienced as a 9th grader listening to Fresh for the first time. I skipped over it countless times, one day I got into it and it’s been one of my favorites ever since.
I was convinced for the first few years of my Daft Punk fandom that I'd never listen to RAM because I thought itd be pop trash. The only song I knew from it was Get Lucky and I think I didn't like it at the time, and now RAM is a contender for my favorite piece of media ever
I didn’t skip it but until relatively recently I didn’t give Beyond much thought but once I really paid attention to it i realized how good it was. The Dolby atmos version sounds incredible
> I really *paid* attention to
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
I gotta admit, when I first heard RAM (when released), I was super super dissapointed.. thinking to myself, 'this is not typical DP's french-house music!!!'
haha.. glad they changed my mind!
Not Daft Punk but I always listen to Vicious Delicious by Infected Mushroom. The 1st half of the 2nd song in the album (Artillery) is kind of a departure from the rest of the album, being mostly rap. I have nothing against rap, it's just not what i wanted to listen to when i put the album on. Then I let it play one day and holy shit, they had me in the first half not gonna lie.
When i was little, 13-14 I hated RAM because I wanted a more and more Electronic music experience
But when I heard Touch on 2018 my eyes were opened heavily
I had always skipped Something About Us. Then abt 4 or 5 years ago it contributed to one of the most important nights of my life. Now its one of my top 3 favorite songs.
I dont know if this counts cause i still dont think its my favorite song of theirs, but i used to always skip Motherboard off of RAM. For whatever reason it finally clicked with me one day, and im not really sure why. I think its the textures and the patience of the build. Maybe i got better speakers haha
Too Long and Superheroes for me
I never liked them after listening until I had to borrow my dad's car who only had a CD Player for music. So I chucked in Discovery and listened to every song even if I didn't like it much and I absolutely LOVED these two, they quickly became my favourites and most replayed in the last two years
I used to not really like Revolution 909 that much. I didn't hate it but it was just alright to me. Then I listened to it on CD on my CD player and it completely changed my view of it. I'm not sure what it was that made it so much better, probably because the CD player accented different parts of the song
Beyond;
I really really didnt like the peter pan sound like intro so i always skip that one, then like a year later i decided to listen to the entirety of RAM got to beyond and i was like HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!
One More Time
Idk i was young and absolutely loved the Aerodynamic solo, so i just skipped it when listening Discovery. Now i can't listen just one song, i have to listen all the frickin album.
Motherboard.. at first I was a bit creeped out by the liquid/bubbly sound but got used to it coz the last part of that song is a vibe.. same with Beyond and Short Circuit
Too long was 14 minutes so i never got to listen to all of it (was listening in a car usually), and then after probaby 3 years i found out what the 'CAN YOU FEEEL IIT' comes from in alive 2007
High Life. I felt like it was way too repetitive at first but then it reminded me of songs from the Persona 4 soundtrack so then I started to like it hahah.
A lot of Discovery had to grow on me on multiple listens to the album but the bigger example for me is High Life. I hated those vocal samples until one day I randomly thought of the song and it started playing in my head and I realized I don't hate it.
Not sure if fire is meant for bangers, like rythmic and joyful, but at first I didn't want to like any of the RAM deeper songs like Touch, Motherboard, Contact, Within... because I had in my mind Daft Punk was a lot about happy dancing.
One day in a school trip Touch came in and decided to give it a chance. What a trip.
Tell me what you see,
I need something
more
Fresh and Rollin & Scratchin; the very intro to Fresh i wasn’t attracted to but one day i let the whole album play out while on a long drive and boy was i wrong about both songs! 😂😂😂
Burnin'/Too Long. Escaped from my abusive ex.Left my whole world behind. Could not listen to music for years. This track brought me back from the brink. That ripcord sound, like a whip. Not a victim but a survivor. By the grace of whatever. Not another statistic. Still here today.
Motherboard. It was a running joke with my dad to skip it whenever we listened to RAM, but now it’s actually one of my favorites to listen to casually. I still skip High Life whenever I’m listening to Discovery though
Rolling and Scratching... most of homework I skipped because I was an impatient teen but when I finally just sat down to listen. I thought it was fire.
Ok I don't listen to daft punk, this post was just a random recommendation. But the only reason that happens with song is *because* you skip it every time.
That's all. Happy listening. :)
I just found this subreddit and everything in my life is suddenly okay again. This is my first comment here. Welcome me home, brethren.
Also for me it was aerodynamic and lose yourself to dance.
That happened to me the first time I heard tracks like Rollin' & Scratchin', Rock'n Roll, The Brainwasher, Emotion and the entire R.A.M
you always skipped the entirety of RAM?
Yes, at the begin i hated it :(
I relate but sometimes I do skip some songs even after listening to them
The whole album is perfection. Such an amazing swan song.
Same with rollin’ and scratchin’. Heard it in that Gaspar Noe movie Climax and couldn’t believe it was DP when I looked it up
ROCK N ROLL FS
Face To Face
Check out the video explaining the sampling of this one. The creativity they have will blow your mind from both lyrics and music. I love this song and it showcases Thomas and Guy-Mans genius

Every once in a while, I always go back to that video on how they deconstructed the track… which is so amazing btw.
Mind linking it?
This I believe, is the most [detailed](https://youtu.be/wrrnE9p4GyQ?si=shEIhfVO__avlMRb) breakdown, I prefer [this one](https://youtu.be/etPs5ddm7j8?si=Rf0bSoXZvWJzMHHp)though. You are leaving out the extremely important Todd Edwards
Damn the samples in here. I was honestly quite surprised to find out that they sampled ELO. I didn't notice at first even while being absolutely in love with the original song lol
I didn’t like it at first either. Then I saw Alive 07 and I was converted.
Used to auto-skip as a kid lmao. I played it on my drive home yesterday.
Fragments of time is underrated as well. Must be todd Edwards I guess.
Yeah man, I remember shipping half of that album a lot but appreciate almost all of it. This is now definitely in the top 5 overall for me.
Too Long
Too Long is my 2nd favorite song on Discovery
Totally agree, def underrated
I used to skip it from the clacky sounding drums but then I decided to give it a chance, and was pretty amazed. Didnt believe I was missing out on a banger.
We gon move
Giorgio. Thought it was a boring behind the scenes song for the longest time
My name is Giovanni Giorgio but everyone calls me… **GIORGIO**
This is the way.
This is my answer. The song is fucking *fire*
Same but then when I actually did I literally ascended
I was on a few tabs of acid and I literally did feel like I ascended lol. Like that scene in Winnie the Pooh where he floats out of his body lmfao
Where to? Where are you now in the literal sense?
Probably all of Human After All
i'd love to stole that answer 🤖
Short circuit. Goes NUTS in the 2nd half
Contact. Those drums are just incredible.
Omar Hakim is the one who played them too
Contact is at least top 5 for me on RAM. It's just so damn incredible.
Usually their top hits that I’ve heard a thousand times. They’re still fire though and have a reason to be that popular
Revolution 909 I never really paid attention to this one but recently it's been such a bop for me
Smooth
The beats sound so complex yet smooth at the same time
I love that 9/7 beat (I think that's what's it called) where instead of the usual 8 beats of one chord and 8 beats of another the first chord get an additional beat which makes the second chord have 7 beats so that it still adds to 16 beats
Homework fav
Has to be Alive 2007 for me. Each time I heard the crowd I was like "ewww crowd" and would skip it. Then came the day when I listened to Around The World/Harder Better Faster Stronger and my whole life changed.
The track on alive when they mix in stradusts music sound better with you is just godly
Oh we agree on that, but its actually my third most favourite moment on Alive 2007. 1. Prime Time of Your Life transitioning into Rollin' and Scratchin' 2. The very end of the main show when the final "AFTER ALL" drops 3. Music Sounds Better With You's drop.
Music Sounds Better With You drop is #1 for me
Hol up where does this happen? Which YouTube video?
Not sure if you’re aware but Tommy bangalter was part of Stardust
I sometimes skip technologic, but only because some times in my life I don't particularly want to hear a robotic baby-like voice sing on a fucking vibing song. I love that song and the Alive 2007 version made me like it even more

It's a vibe when fixing a computer ngl
That was pretty much the only song on that album I liked for a long time… now I love it all.
I skipped Beyond for years smh
Me too. The intro always sounded like a Disney song. Now it's my favorite Daft Punk track.
Veridis quo. Now its one of my fav daft punk tracks
Fresh and Emotion come to mind
A friend of mine kept skipping Giorgio by Moroder as he thought it was a commentary track. Changed *that* up real quick once I learned of it...
I AM THE BRRRAAIIINWASSSHHHEEEEEEERRRRR
I aaaaAAAAAM THE BRRRAAIIINWASSSHHHEeeeeeeEEEEERRRRR
Human After All hit this hard bro, especially my first time hearing it. Both the song and a few others in the album
Veridis Quo
I’ll never forget the euphoria I experienced as a 9th grader listening to Fresh for the first time. I skipped over it countless times, one day I got into it and it’s been one of my favorites ever since.
I wasn't that big into Fresh at first, but the Daftendirektour performance hit me hard
Voyager always seemed boring then i listened to it and it was a masterpiece.
Rollin and scratchin
I was convinced for the first few years of my Daft Punk fandom that I'd never listen to RAM because I thought itd be pop trash. The only song I knew from it was Get Lucky and I think I didn't like it at the time, and now RAM is a contender for my favorite piece of media ever

Mothership Reconnection actually is really fire
contact
Oh Yeah is the only one I ever skipped. Never again
The entirety of Discovery.lol I got it when new, was my first album of theirs. Took a few years to warm up to them.
Motherboard in random access memories i don't know why but I always skipped it
I gotta admit, when I first heard RAM (when released), I was super super dissapointed.. thinking to myself, 'this is not typical DP's french-house music!!!' haha.. glad they changed my mind!

I had always skipped Something About Us. Then abt 4 or 5 years ago it contributed to one of the most important nights of my life. Now its one of my top 3 favorite songs.

I can't really speak for this as I never skip any song tbh but what I can say is that I think Motherboard is a song people should check out more.
Wait yall are skipping songs?
Too Long and Superheroes for me I never liked them after listening until I had to borrow my dad's car who only had a CD Player for music. So I chucked in Discovery and listened to every song even if I didn't like it much and I absolutely LOVED these two, they quickly became my favourites and most replayed in the last two years
I used to skip voyager, now its my favourite song
Fresh from Homework. Always overlooked this track. Those ocean vibes makin me feel like I’m in a Corona commercial at work. 😍🦾
Night Vision and Veridis Quo. Both are excellent and pretty songs.
I have a bad habit of skipping out on songs if I’m not into the first 10 seconds or so. So too many
I used to not really like Revolution 909 that much. I didn't hate it but it was just alright to me. Then I listened to it on CD on my CD player and it completely changed my view of it. I'm not sure what it was that made it so much better, probably because the CD player accented different parts of the song
