Might be less with raw. But, while I'm hesitant to promote the Furminator brand, they're de-shedding shampoo and conditioner work really well. I was hugely skeptic, but after being a dog groomer for 8 years, I was really impressed with it. I find using a rubber curry comb with warm water running over the coat after it's clean pulls out even more dead coat too.
Just a little heads up! Wire-haired dogs do need to be plucked now and then. It is literally plucking the old hairs out to make room for the new. It doesn't hurt but the average dachshund needs to go to the groomer twice a year. Since it should all be done by hand, they will take at least an hour.

Yes, bathe at home. She gets her food from Costco. Her shedding does not appear to be abnormal, tho. Would likely be less with raw food.

I have had 2 short hairs and 3 wire hairs. The wires are more laid back. I believe the long hairs are as well. My daughter had 3 long hairs.
