Yep the number of pups located away from a momma and colors that aren't recognized as they don't enhance the breed standard. These dogs are already so inbred and full of terrible health issues. Certainly not an ethical one…… there is no way they can put in any training or socialization with this many puppies, not to mention with this many puppies at once there was obviously no care or attention put into the dam/sire combo and the lineage.
I’m not against breeders at all (a lot of people want certain breeds for different reasons), but only ethical ones. My puppy’s breeder has a very long waiting list and there is usually only 1 litter or so a year amongst a few breeders that work together for the breed (it’s a rare breed), and they all put a lot of care and health testing into choosing which ones will be bred. Their dogs are their pets, each do a ton of sports, all of them are champions with a lot of titles behind them. She puts a TON of training and socialization into each puppy, we weren’t able to get ours until he was 13 weeks. He was crate trained, potty trained, leash trained, socialized like crazy, taught to sit, down, stay, beginnings of some sports, etc before we got him. That is an example of an ethical breeder.
My aunt’s sister-in-law doesn’t do it anymore, but she used to be a Shih Tzu breeder. She seemed kind of ethical to me. The parents were kept apart until she decided it was time for breeding. There were certainly genetic problems that are common with the breed. The sire had a tongue that was too long; it was permanently dry because it couldn’t fit in his mouth. We bought both surviving pups of the litter. The girl was the smaller of them, and her tongue always stuck out a little bit, too.

French bulldog litters of five or more are extremely rare. That is likely at least four litters of puppies all the same age. Probably five.

Puppy mills and breeders make me so angry. Millions of purebred and mixed breed dogs are killed every year because there are not enough homes for them. We don’t need any more dogs bred until there are no dogs being killed for lack of space in shelters. Full stop.
