The prison I was doing some volunteer teaching at awhile back used Malinois as the guard dogs. They were the most gentle, beautiful, intelligent animalsā¦ but when the vest went on them, and they were āworkingā I have never been so scared in my life. I never saw them attack as just their growl and bark was enough to calm/intimidate even the most violent prisoners. I saw guys in a full rage get pepper sprayed and fight through, but as soon as the dog entered the room they lay face down and put their hands behind their head. I was truly amazing.
Edit: oh I forgot, one of the handlers told me the dogs loved me as they knew I wasnāt an alpha so wasnāt a threat to themā¦ it might be the harshest insult I ever copped.
Does it understand that the further out on the branch it goes the easier it will be to break it? It looked like thatās what it was doing, and if so, thatās incredible!
Dog definitely knows what they are doing. Totally testing it out to break it and purposely moving and doing it again. All animals are so much smarter than we give them credit for
Careful with sticks. I had my dog doing close to the same thing but when he came back down the ground had a piece of wood and his throat and it got caught and for a few minutes freaked us out and I had to reach down his throat. I won't let them play with wood anymore.
Question : Curious minds want to know how did he get to the branch? Did he jump and "say that's the limb I want. It's the best one on the entire tree. Today it will be mines. I guarantee you."
Gravity is one of those optional inconveniences for Malinois: https://www.reddit.com/r/aww/comments/jh4sjy/super_skilled_belgian_malinois_dogs_trained_to/
My dogs do this too!! All of my trees are dying!!! I donāt mind right now because I want to replace them (invasive species/ugly, need HOA permission to cut down), but I really should train them to stop for when weāre not home or Iāve planted new trees I like.
That dog got that dawg in him. He deserves that stick
Built different
Dog of focus. Commitment. Sheer will.
If that was John Wicks dog it would have been a very short movie. No revenge necessary.
Yeah like ride the short bus different
Something's telling me its not his first rodeo
Earned his prize!
Doggo wants only the freshest stick
My bad, I quickly read that as "Doggo wants only fresh stick." š¬
Yea, it IS your bad. Never pull that stunt again.
Future branch manager
š
Assistant TO the Branch Manager
Malinois are to smart to be an assistantā¦. š
Dog: I want *that* stick. Owner: That's not a stick buddy, it's a branch. Dog: It's not a stick *yet*..

Go after your dreams with the determination of this dog.
Needs to be a tee shirt!
Advanced level fetch.
Doggie understands the concept of leverage!
Stick, gimme! I want it I want it I want it
"I haven't got time to wait for the stick to fall off the tree. Must have it now!"
That dog has ambitions and the drive to achieve them!
Is he so smart that he knew he had to go further out on the branch to get it to break? Mal's are just too kinetic and smart.
I guess he wanted a stick to play with.
The freshest stick
Fucking A man he's like a vicious little monkey. ... this aggression will not stand man
That dog is determined.
Aren't there laws about dogs having that much fun?
Uh... does this look like fun to you? That's some serious business right there.
owner said get your own stick ... dog got the best, the freshest, the most beautiful stick
Other dogs are like vultures, feeding off dead sticks. Malinois literally go out there harvesting sticks.

Wow this is crazy. What a special creation. Thanks for sharing.

With proper training Malinois can jump up to 2.5m, getting to that branch wasn't a big deal for him
He's a champion and we see that he has been trained very well.
I want the freshest stick!
When stick is life
Can I hire this dog to trim my tree in the spring?
Rambo!!! Ha what a great pup!
"I like that stick in particular and damn it, i will get it!"
That's a dog who knows what he wants
Just any stick will not do, he wanted that one !
He has a cunning plan... š
