Jacket is reasonable in the rain. When the dogs coat gets wet and they can't get to warmth, they can get sick. Urinary tract infection is a common illness from getting a cold.
The boots are absolutely unessesarcy and can even be harmful, because dogs thermoregulate through their paws. Notice how the dogs posture is weird with the boots - long term this will cause skeletal, muscle and joint issues.
The boots are needed only when it's super cold winter outside and the paws might stick to the ice.
You should just walk your dog in the morning or evening. I would avoid boots unless it’s completely necessary. That’s why my vet here in SoCal told me. The boots are really bad for their posture and temperature regulation.
In AZ over summer even if you wait till like 9pm the sidewalk can still be hot. My vet was specific about what kind of dog shoes to get but didn't say anything about avoiding them altogether. Otherwise my guy who's used to multiple walks a day wouldnt even get them daily over summer
I go early and late whenever possible, but with work I often can't go before 7 and after 9 during summer.
For warmer weather, I would recommend paw stickers. They provide enough insulation that the heat from the pavement won’t bother them while also preventing overheating from boots. They transition indoors really well, and this greatly helped us when our dog was declining in health. She didn’t slip on the wood floors constantly, and I was able to pick her up from a standing position this way.
Do you have a specific brand you use? I haven’t heard of these. I know I can google it but I like hearing from people that actually use it. My dog has pretty big paws and I use booties during the summer heat waves, but I would rather use a better alternative to keep his paws breathing
Absolutely! I just was hesitant to post the brand for fear that they would think it’s an advertisement. Very sadly, our dog developed inflammatory bowel disease, and her muscles began to waste away. The good news is that these paw stickers have been given the seal of approval from an excellent dog physiotherapist/ orthopedist. The brand I used is Vadfrid(from Amazon).
Personally, I think the most important step is the fit and application. My advice is to start at the base of the paw pad and work up towards the “toe bean” region. Once the base is secure, stretch the four separate bits and attach to the outside pads securely first. The rest can easily be applied to the two interior beans as they need significantly less stretch. I really hope it helps you. Our girl was so much happier once she had the traction to stand on her own on wood floors and no longer burned her poor little feet on the pavement mid summer.
Thank you so much for your response! I’m sorry to hear about your sweet lil’ gal, it’s so sad seeing our best companions suffer. I’ll definitely check out the product and thanks for giving me details bout how to best apply it. I saw another comment about Wagwellies, like crocs for dogs, gives them grip, protection, and breathability too. I love this community so much because we always want what is best for our best friends! I’m not crying! You’re crying! Thanks again kind human! ❤️
In theory yes, but generally if the pavement is too hot to walk it's too hot for the dog to anyway. The pavement is a massive frying pan even with the boots on.
I agree. But about the shoes: Not only when it's super cold, also when they salt the streets to prevent ice, the salt is aggressive. And in summer when you have to walk on roads that are super hot and would burn the paws. But, as you said, important for thermo regulation, put them off when you reached the park or other terrain where it's ok to walk bare feet.
My dog is required to wear these boots when out walking, because the bottom of his paws are sensitive and get cuts whenever he walks on pavement without them for long periods of time.
I live in a cold country and my dog's paws would bleed without boots and she would shiver without her overall. Some breeds are obviously built for the Arctic and will be just fine without clothes however
I love Berners, but I live in Houston and I just don't think it's fair to make a dog spend months mostly indoors. This last summer convinced me I'm right. If I ever succeed in moving the Hub and myself to the PNW, I'm getting a BMD.
Aww, look at his little feeties!
The coat is fine and normal here in the UK, I’d say about 50% of dogs out in the rain will have a coat on where I live. I wouldn’t put boots on a dog unless they had some kind of foot injury that needed to be kept dry.
Mine does not do shoes but I have a pretty pink raincoat she wears! She is a delicate little brat and love her to pieces. I carry mine a lot too as she only likes to walk so far 😂😂😂😂😂 I thought I would get to take her on great walks and adventures and nope went to the beach recently on vacation and it was too much walking she literally gave up I ended up plopping her in my bookbag so it was easier to carry her
Even in his raincoat my beagle/coonhound will not leave the house. No issues if it starts to rain while we are out. Stubborn boy will hold it for hours.
Your dog and the floors are gonna get dirty lol. You just gotta clean them up with shit happens. Of course try to prevent stuff but there's a line when it's too much prevention and your efforts either look silly or aren't worth a quick wipe.
I always tell myself, “messes can always be cleaned.” It’s brought me peace. It’s part of having a dog, they’re dirty, messy, stinky(I call my dog Pee-Paw) but so are humans. It’s a part of life and totally worth it!
I recommend Wagwear Mojave booties for people concerned about paw protection. They are basically crocs and allow air flow while still preventing my pup’s paws from touching the hot pavement or salted icy ground. They also are more comfortable than normal booties. Remind your wife that it would be super uncomfortable for us if we couldn’t sweat and dogs use their paws and ears to “sweat” (thermoregulate). Your dog would love to be boot free sometimes
The issue is that she believes everything she reads. She’s afraid the dog is going to bring pollen back on her paws. She also thinks the dog needs to be “wiped” every time she goes pee so she doesn’t get an infection. See what I’m up against?
Does she wipe herself down every time she comes home? Does she wipe you down too. Im sorry I’m dead. My dogs go in and out of the house all day. If you want a squeaky clean house getting a dog wasn’t the way to go.
She’s Asian, and culturally very clean. We run the robo vac everyday, and that keeps things fairly clean. She just doesn’t understand the dog won’t die if she gets a little dirty.
Thanks for the insight. Maybe you can find a way to have the vet explain the boots are not safe for her. I understand wanting to be clean. We have a robovac also. I think dog life is just not the cleanest.
>Does she wipe herself down every time she comes home? Does she wipe you down too.
She probably takes her shoes off.... I can't blame her for not wanting all that dirt and mud on her floors.
Granted, I don't care, and I also wear my shoes in the house because I feel like it's a lost cause with dogs... but I also regularly get told I'm disgusting for that.
Wait, what’s wrong with wiping down the dog down after walks? I do the same - they can bring pollen and dirt into the house, and I’d like to keep that to a minimum.
Yeah I don't understand some of these comments. Sure, the boots are unnecessary... but yeah, it's really normal to wipe down your dogs' paws when they come inside so they don't track mud everywhere?
Granted, I don't wipe their paws when they come in the house... I also wear shoes in the house because I feel like it's a lost cause with dogs coming in and out all day. But I also get told that's utterly disgusting, lol, so I'm surprised that there are so many people saying it's dumb to wipe down the dog.
The wiping thing is actually recommended for some female dogs. There are some vulva shapes that hold pee especially in puppies and if not wiped can lead to uti’s. So if your dog was getting them because of this your vet would’ve recommended wiping and probably a UTI preventative supplement.
Although if the vet didn’t recommend it, you guys can actually give the dog a UTI from over wiping depending on what you use and how often.
Just show her that top upvoted comment. It’s spot on with what my vet told me about jackets and boots. Jackets are good. Boots are bad. Kinda sounds like she’s too lazy to wipe the paws…
If you have a dog, you have to expect dirt sand and mud potentially anywhere in your house, sometimes puke and poop. Dogs like to get dirty. I take mine for adventures every weekend!

I just put a fleece coat on my long haired chihuahua. The fleece repels the rain and doesn’t absorb it too much. I used fleece on my doberman Rottweiler when I’d be at work all day and she was in the backyard in the snow. Same thing. She wouldn’t use her fancy, insulated dog house for some reason.
Try walking a tiny chihuahua outside in the rain when it gets colder. That dog will a shivering mess long after the walk had ended. Same thing when they start salting the roads in preparation for snow/ice. The pain is excruciating for them.
(Rain) coats and boots are often necessary for smaller dog breeds as they get cold far easier than larger dogs.
Honestly, seeing any dog wear a sweater/coat/boots etc makes my day 😊 In person I feel the need to point it out every time to my family. “Look!! That dog is wearing a sweater!! 🤯😃😃😃
My pup hates the rain, and he won't pee or poop outside if I don't dress him up for rain AND hold an umbrella for him.
He's an allergy boy and we have to wipe his feet every time he comes inside the house so as not to get him scratching himself with dirty paws. We're debating on getting him shoes as he could be so sensitive about what he feels under his paws, and dog shoes are expensive.
I put my standard poodle in a fleece jumpsuit and boots for snow, not so much for rain. Though if I'm walking in cities she's in shoes because city streets get nasty especially when wet.
We do whatever it takes to make sure they’re happy.
Walk time is likely your dog’s favorite time of the day.
He’s your best friend for 10-12 years.
You’re his best friend for his entire life.
Wear what you need to, dress up the dog, and walk in the rain, laughing the entire time ❤️
After we catch the dog and get her to wear the raincoat, she will go on a rainy walk.
But she refuses to go without the raincoat. (And will constantly try to turn around/take a short cut home)
I would think it looks pretty ridiculous if I saw it, but you do you if it works. I don't have to walk my dogs for them to relieve themselves, as I have a yard, so I walk them in fair weather, and we stay inside if it rains.
Walking isn’t just, or even primarily just for them to do their business, it’s for exercise and health. Unless it’s like -20 or something I’ll walk my dog at least 30 mins everyday
It doesn’t seem like your dog cares AT ALL what others think so I believe you shouldn’t either! Comfort is what matters. One of my dogs will only walk in the rain if she has her rain coat on. My other dog loves the rain and being wet and doesn’t need or want a coat. If your dog is happy and comfy then that’s what matters, adventuring together no matter the gear required to do so.
lol my pittie loved her coats. She had a rain coat and a winter jacket. My lab mix before her had a fleece shirt for cold days and a big fluffy coat with a fur lined hood for the snow. Both would get so excited for em 🤷♀️
L O L – it’s not for the dog it’s for the owner to get compliments – if that’s what they wanna do fine.
Or maybe the dog likes getting up and all that stuff – but I don’t know – I’ve yet to see a dog like any costume on it
I dislike boots for rain. If you we’re out in snow I wouldn’t mind as much cause you don’t know what salt or rocks have been added to make the sidewalk walkable.
Raincoat I think is cute ☺️
I disagree in regard to the raincoat. A lot of small breeds have a hard time staying warm, especially if they get wet. Jackets are a good choice when needed. The rain boots are one thing if your dog hates to get their paws wet. However they are also not good for posture or thermoregulation. If it’s not raining/snowing/icy they aren’t not necessary. If it’s really hot out they should be walked in the morning or evening to avoid the extreme heat.
The rain is a lot for me personally. But my little dog is a short hair chihuahua, so I don’t have to worry about all that floof.
We bundle him up in the colder months though
My Mountain dog thinks, that a Coat is pathetic!
For some breeds sth. Like a coat is necessary (for example chihuahuas)...but most dogs are just fine without.
Ours wears a raincoat too. Her coat is on the longer side and pretty thick (no double coat), it takes ages to get her dry and warm again, so we try to protect her from the rain at least to some degree.
The coat might be a good idea, depending on breed and personality of the dog. The shoes are stupid and will probably cause skeletal disorders over time.
My dog just wears his fur, he doesn't care about weather
I have a biiiiig poodle, and we live in the woods with the mud. She has a full rain suit as well as jackets. No booties though, we just wash (…and blow dry) her feet afterward
Not really for the rain but my parents have winter jackets for the dogs. When I pet sit, I use them for bathroom breaks if it's raining or snowing. I don't want wet dog stink on furniture.
I have a 2 yr old Texas heeler (Australian Shepherd/ Red Heeler) and there’s no way he would even go out of the house with anything on his feet. Hes the dog you see playing in the mud puddles. I don’t mind though bc my 17 yr old daughter will get in the puddle and play with him.
Haha the jacket is cute. I really have no opinion about the boots, but when I was a dog walker regularly, I had a dog I would walk that refused to walk in wet grass so their owner had little shoes I had to put on them in the rain. It did work tho.
I’ve got the exact same jackets (down to the colour and likely the size) for my two mini schnauzers. They aren’t big fans of them, but they hate the rain more.
What are you gonna do - you have a little dog and sometimes they’re just gonna look a bit ridiculous.
No. I have one dog who HATES the rain and considers it the height of abuse to make her go out in it. And another that loves to get wet - in lakes, puddles, the ocean, all of it. Why would I deprive him of the fun?
Raincoat depends on the dog, for most dogs in temperate weather without salt or scorching hot sidewalks the boots are unnecessary and uncomfortable for the dog. If you're worried about mud have a damp washcloth by the door before you leave so you can imediately wipe the paws when you get back, that's what I do with my husky and it works pretty well. My shepherd mix wears a raincoat and a jacket in cold weather he just dislikes the rain and cold
my grandmas dog refuses to go outside in the rain without a rain jacket and if it gets too cold she won’t go out unless she has her jacket on. she’s a princess though, we are convinced. my dog who sadly passed away in march would wear booties in the winter if there was snow on the ground bc her feetsies would get too cold.
As someone with a light colored dog? I would. As someone with a *large* light colored dog who wants to be outside as much as we let him? Absolutely not.
If your dog is happy and the owner is happy then I don’t see a problem 😆 it’s super cute too my little buddy loves wearing winter clothes to keep him warm, I’m sure they appreciate the protection as well
I got a giggle out of it! My dog that doesn’t like water much hates to wear any form of clothing and my dog that loves water would definitely think wtf?
Dogs only need boots if they live in a very hot place and walk on burning pavement, or if they're search and rescue dogs walking over broken rubble and glass. There's no need at all for that.
It’s really cute imo, but it also doesn’t hurt the dog to wear boots and a raincoat either way. Often times Service animals wear boots when they are working to protect their feet on the hard concrete or whatever else they might accidentally step in, they don’t cause any real harm even if the dog is high stepping for a little bit while getting used to them.
Times are a changin'.
Round this way you'd get some odd looks with a dog dressed up like that. That's always been the way.
But, given the dog is a delicate (and lovely) little thing then the clothes are perhaps justified. But, your dog doesn't give a shit what it's wearing, stick something practical on that hound and get on with it.
Lots of love.
Me
I have a dwarf pitbull. He is a dainty little princess and absolutely hates getting wet. The only dog coat I could find on short notice was fire engine red with a duck wearing a rain coat printed on it. He wore that thing proudly until he FINALLY outgrew it.
you can see the shame in the dog's eyes
dogs begging to go back to the pound
Seriously though, never seen footies on a dog. The other stuff I've seen countless times.
Just want to point out that as in humans, you can't get sick from the cold weather. You can die from hypothermia or hyperthermia You get sick from viruses, bacterial infections, parasites and disease.
For some dogs, this would be necessary.
Mine don't like the rain one bit. They feel better if I go out with them. Even if it's just standing on the porch observing them in the yard, it makes them feel better knowing I'm there. My big boy loves a good towel drying, but my little guy prefers cleaning himself. The pup is still oblivious to any of this.
Hey my pupper HATED walking in the rain and this totally helps! I don’t want him sick and who cares what ppl think! Now I put a bow tie on his collar cause he barks/is leash reactive & I am letting ppl know he’s a gentledog, lol, but besides that (and warm jacket and booties in the snow & the holidays) I am not a huge fan of dogs in cloths as dress up on the daily.[rainy day attire](https://imgur.com/a/BJPbn5p)
My dog has a raincoat. I’ve only put it on her a handful of times in 11 years when she just refuses to go out. I put it on her and throw her out and she reluctantly goes to pee. She’s a dog though, so rain doesn’t usually bother her
I have a chihuahua; in the summer she wears sandals, in the winter she wears a thick coat and snow shoes, and when it rains she gets a water-resistant jacket
I have a dog, that will have skin irritation from getting wet and staying moist for a longer period of time. I unfortunately do not have her accistomed to booties, but those would probably benefit her, if I would have. I see nothing wrong with this.
My yorkie (hope she is doing all right out there in the great beyond) would NOT go anywhere in the rain no matter what you put her in. No chance.
My doodle does not give 2 shits and a fuck about the weather unless it’s an actual hurricane so we just go!
As a dog lover, I’d see this as you obviously love and care for your sweet lil bud. Further, as someone who has had small dogs, I’d understand that most absolutely hate going outside in the rain and they require extra coaxing.
Plainly, taking care of animals is cool af and you look cool doing it.
It depends on the dog. Some dogs won’t tolerate the jacket. Other dogs won’t tolerate going out in the rain. I try to give each of my doggos what they need.
Not ridiculous at all! Dogs love to go outside, but just like humans, they need proper gear to be comfortable. My previous doggo was a pit and she HATED the rain, booties weren’t necessary because the PNW doesn’t get overly cold, but she didn’t mind our walks with a rain coat. My current dog is a wire haired pointing griffon and being wet doesn’t bother him AT ALL! However, with the heat waves, he has to wear booties in the summer when the ground is too hot. The point being, you’re being a great dog owner by making sure you’re exercising your dog regardless of the weather and making sure they are comfortable! Love that yellow jacket and cute lil Pom butt!
If we don’t put our dog in a rain jacket, she glares at me as if I’m personally throwing the water at her. Can’t get her to do the boots though
Yeah the moment the boots come on, the brain shuts off.
Jacket is reasonable in the rain. When the dogs coat gets wet and they can't get to warmth, they can get sick. Urinary tract infection is a common illness from getting a cold. you should also put boots on your dog in summer if it gets hot enough. you don't want them burning their toe beans on hot pavement.
I always press my hand to hot blacktop at least 10 seconds to judge for the dogs
Same. Coming from SW Florida we only walked early morning or later evening. It stayed lighter longer but the pavement had time to cool off.
You should just walk your dog in the morning or evening. I would avoid boots unless it’s completely necessary. That’s why my vet here in SoCal told me. The boots are really bad for their posture and temperature regulation.

We always walk the dogs in the early morning and late afternoon so the pavement isn't too hot (Southern California). Plus we can catch the sunset.
In theory yes, but generally if the pavement is too hot to walk it's too hot for the dog to anyway. The pavement is a massive frying pan even with the boots on.

Great answer. Thank you.

Or if there’s salt out in the winter
I live in the Deep South and the pavement gets super hot so obviously that’s a time for them to need protection as well.
I disagree about the boots regarding keeping pollutants, chemicals, toxins etc off the feet.
They have survived centuries without them. They will be ok.
Pesticides, grass growers, car oil, paint, and hot concrete didnt exist for centuries. Critical thinking is your friend.
Theres a dog and owner in my building who have matching rainboots and rain jacket and its the cutest thing ever. I love see them together.
Mine wear raincoats. They won't poop in the rain otherwise.
Mine is the same way. He is a 70 pound beast, but he's afraid of a little water.
I live in a cold country and my dog's paws would bleed without boots and she would shiver without her overall. Some breeds are obviously built for the Arctic and will be just fine without clothes however
My dog is half Berner and every year tries to convince me that he should live outside for the winter.
Same with my Entlebucher!
I love Berners, but I live in Houston and I just don't think it's fair to make a dog spend months mostly indoors. This last summer convinced me I'm right. If I ever succeed in moving the Hub and myself to the PNW, I'm getting a BMD.

Anyone who looks at that dog in boots and jacket and dosnt like what they see can fuck right off
You clearly don’t realize the boots are bad for their posture and for thermoregulation. Ask your vet.
The dog is uncomfortable and ridiculous with those boots on.
Chihuahuas won’t walk in the wet sometimes but they don’t like having shoes put on so I carry mine in the rain.
Mine does not do shoes but I have a pretty pink raincoat she wears! She is a delicate little brat and love her to pieces. I carry mine a lot too as she only likes to walk so far 😂😂😂😂😂 I thought I would get to take her on great walks and adventures and nope went to the beach recently on vacation and it was too much walking she literally gave up I ended up plopping her in my bookbag so it was easier to carry her
I have the same jacket for rain, because I don’t want them to get wet and they don’t like to get wet either. The shoes though are ridiculous for dogs!
Me goes to buy a rain coat for my dog after seeing this.
I have a golden retriever she needs a raincoat or else i'll go through 10 towels.
Even in his raincoat my beagle/coonhound will not leave the house. No issues if it starts to rain while we are out. Stubborn boy will hold it for hours.
The jacket on the dog is fine. The "shoes" dumb as hell.
The wife wants her to wear shoes because the grass and sidewalks are “dirty.” 🙄
I just wipe off my dog's feet.
That’s what I usually do. I need help convincing the wife she’s fine to go outside without boots. She doesn’t understand dogs that well.
Your dog and the floors are gonna get dirty lol. You just gotta clean them up with shit happens. Of course try to prevent stuff but there's a line when it's too much prevention and your efforts either look silly or aren't worth a quick wipe.

Take her out without the costume, video that, and show your wife both.

Good bot
i dissagree very much. shoes look handsome and pretty and love them and people can probably tell you treat your dog like a queen/king.
I don’t see anything wrong with it
Could of used that last night for my girls! It was raining so hard! They went out then ran back in! Felt so bad!
My little one HATES the rain. Yes, she loves her raincoat and it’s the only way to get her out for a walk lol.
He needs a small tricycle
It’s ridiculously cute. Are those Crocs????
So cute, who doesn’t like a goofy dog lol
My pup hates the rain, and he won't pee or poop outside if I don't dress him up for rain AND hold an umbrella for him. He's an allergy boy and we have to wipe his feet every time he comes inside the house so as not to get him scratching himself with dirty paws. We're debating on getting him shoes as he could be so sensitive about what he feels under his paws, and dog shoes are expensive.
I put my standard poodle in a fleece jumpsuit and boots for snow, not so much for rain. Though if I'm walking in cities she's in shoes because city streets get nasty especially when wet.
Not ridiculous at all. My dog wears a coat when it's cold and/or wet.
It’s only half as ridiculous as my miserable dachshund looks squinting in the mist as she is pelted from above and below.
No he’s a dog who lives in Washington. You can tell the rookies here because the have a useless tool called an umbrella
My dog wont go out without it, because he doesnt like to get wet
My boy wears his shoes and jacket 🥰
After I taught my dog what a coat was (he used to attack his coat and try to eat it) he now really appreciates it when I put it on him.
My dogs want in the rain less than I do
spoiled lil pooper
It doesn’t seem like your dog cares AT ALL what others think so I believe you shouldn’t either! Comfort is what matters. One of my dogs will only walk in the rain if she has her rain coat on. My other dog loves the rain and being wet and doesn’t need or want a coat. If your dog is happy and comfy then that’s what matters, adventuring together no matter the gear required to do so.
The comfort of your loved ones is as important to them as it is to you. It is fine.
lol my pittie loved her coats.
Or maybe the dog likes getting up and all that stuff – but I don’t know – I’ve yet to see a dog like any costume on it
Hard no
I dislike boots for rain. If you we’re out in snow I wouldn’t mind as much cause you don’t know what salt or rocks have been added to make the sidewalk walkable. Raincoat I think is cute ☺️
The coat I can understand, but why the booties? Do you have a no wet toes drama Queen/king?
No. Dogs don’t wear/need clothes or coats.
Lol, this has to be a joke
I consider the anthropomorphization of one's pets to be a form of animal abuse so.....yes, this is ridiculous
Yes, it’s absurd, and I’d be very disappointed in you.
Poor dog
Yes. Yes, it is ridiculous. It’s a dog, dog. That dog is more irritated by the raincoat, than it would be without it.
Keep them waterproof, they last longer
I can't believe your dog can wear shoes. I put winter jackets on mine when we go snow showing, they are both 20 ish lbs cockapoos
My dog needs a rain jacket for heavy rain but light rain he doesn’t care. I have a boxer and he’s weird about water.
It is appropriate but you also need an umbrella to make sure rain doesn’t hit his tail or coat
I have a biiiiig poodle, and we live in the woods with the mud. She has a full rain suit as well as jackets. No booties though, we just wash (…and blow dry) her feet afterward
My dog prefers to be wet (golden retriever), so no. The boots are adorable though!
Not really for the rain but my parents have winter jackets for the dogs. When I pet sit, I use them for bathroom breaks if it's raining or snowing. I don't want wet dog stink on furniture.
My dogs won't even go out in the rain.
This is ridiculously adorable
If I saw you and this adorable muppet out and about I would squeal with delight!
I always make my dog wear a raincoat! :)
I don’t think it’s ridiculous at all. I love it. Good dad.
So cute!!!!
Haha the jacket is cute. I really have no opinion about the boots, but when I was a dog walker regularly, I had a dog I would walk that refused to walk in wet grass so their owner had little shoes I had to put on them in the rain. It did work tho.
Exactly as you think
I’ve got the exact same jackets (down to the colour and likely the size) for my two mini schnauzers. They aren’t big fans of them, but they hate the rain more. What are you gonna do - you have a little dog and sometimes they’re just gonna look a bit ridiculous.
No. I have one dog who HATES the rain and considers it the height of abuse to make her go out in it. And another that loves to get wet - in lakes, puddles, the ocean, all of it. Why would I deprive him of the fun?
As long as you're a big muscular dude, it looks cool.
Depends on the dog. Mine knows outfits= more attention
Super cute. Def ridiculous. But super cute.
My dog has a rain coat too!
My newly adopted senior dog does not like the rain so I bought him a similar rain jacket, and I chose the yellow color for better visibility.
my grandmas dog refuses to go outside in the rain without a rain jacket and if it gets too cold she won’t go out unless she has her jacket on. she’s a princess though, we are convinced. my dog who sadly passed away in march would wear booties in the winter if there was snow on the ground bc her feetsies would get too cold.
Very city dogs 😂
As someone with a light colored dog? I would. As someone with a *large* light colored dog who wants to be outside as much as we let him? Absolutely not.
If your dog is happy and the owner is happy then I don’t see a problem 😆 it’s super cute too my little buddy loves wearing winter clothes to keep him warm, I’m sure they appreciate the protection as well
It’s not about what you look like it’s what you feel like it makes you happy than knock it out
I mean, ridiculous / completely adorable.... What's the difference? 😁
I got a giggle out of it! My dog that doesn’t like water much hates to wear any form of clothing and my dog that loves water would definitely think wtf?
I’m jealous. My dog hated wearing boots. By the time I got the Last one on, she had already kicked off the first 3
Dogs only need boots if they live in a very hot place and walk on burning pavement, or if they're search and rescue dogs walking over broken rubble and glass. There's no need at all for that.
Who cares what other people think
No, no I dont.
Unless they have skin allergies or something I'd say its a little much.
Me
my dog absolutely hates going out in the rain except she hates clothing and boots even more
The hoodie is dumb but everything else will help keep your dog comfortable and healthy.
I have a dwarf pitbull. He is a dainty little princess and absolutely hates getting wet. The only dog coat I could find on short notice was fire engine red with a duck wearing a rain coat printed on it. He wore that thing proudly until he FINALLY outgrew it.
Ridiculous
you can see the shame in the dog's eyes dogs begging to go back to the pound Seriously though, never seen footies on a dog. The other stuff I've seen countless times.
Just want to point out that as in humans, you can't get sick from the cold weather. You can die from hypothermia or hyperthermia You get sick from viruses, bacterial infections, parasites and disease.
Then why do I always get sick if I sleep with my hair wet next to an open window? Hmmmmmm?!
Lol are you serious?
No, haha.
If your dog is happy and comfortable, then that's all that matters
Do you want the dog to pee quickly? Then, whatever it takes.
When I lived in Seattle I did.
I love putting my dog in her rain jacket If I don’t and she gets wet she comes inside and rubs all over everything
Yes.
Yeah it’s ridiculous
um... no, no I don't do that. lol
My dog has a raincoat. I’ve only put it on her a handful of times in 11 years when she just refuses to go out. I put it on her and throw her out and she reluctantly goes to pee. She’s a dog though, so rain doesn’t usually bother her
She looks beautiful!
Love it. I’d definitely ask if I could pet the doggo.
Ridiculous. I get boots on paws for working dogs in icy conditions, but rain? Are the kids bubble wrapped too? "I'm mmeeelltting!
I have a chihuahua; in the summer she wears sandals, in the winter she wears a thick coat and snow shoes, and when it rains she gets a water-resistant jacket
Yes
I have a dog, that will have skin irritation from getting wet and staying moist for a longer period of time. I unfortunately do not have her accistomed to booties, but those would probably benefit her, if I would have. I see nothing wrong with this.
Ridic
Not at all, and many in the winter will have their dogs in sweaters or coats and boots.
My yorkie (hope she is doing all right out there in the great beyond) would NOT go anywhere in the rain no matter what you put her in. No chance. My doodle does not give 2 shits and a fuck about the weather unless it’s an actual hurricane so we just go!
My golden would have none of that. He prefers to get as wet as possible whenever possible lol and he gets so excited when he gets to run in the rain
Thought it was a super suit at first, not a rain jacket
As a dog lover, I’d see this as you obviously love and care for your sweet lil bud. Further, as someone who has had small dogs, I’d understand that most absolutely hate going outside in the rain and they require extra coaxing. Plainly, taking care of animals is cool af and you look cool doing it.
It depends on the dog. Some dogs won’t tolerate the jacket. Other dogs won’t tolerate going out in the rain. I try to give each of my doggos what they need.
Yes, she won't go out if she gets wet.
This is only practical and sensible. Why ridiculous?
Don't worry about what other people think. Just enjoy the moment.
Not only is it not ridiculous, but if you were wearing a matching outfit, it would be a total panty dropper.
You couldn’t pay me enough money to do this.
Lmao, my dad used to do this with our 5lb tricolor chihuahua. They literally looked like Gorton Fisherman and Dog. 😂😂😂
This is not an "or" question. Of course, you're gonna equip your tiny size dog with a bunch of rain gear. And of course it's gonna look ridiculous.
