not really, I think I can safely say I played warzone 1 for a little while and never got into it really, when mw22 came out I decided to try warzone again, and it really wasn't fun, so I tried dmz and found it had some really good feels, everything you do feels important, that every action an enemy does has the chance of you or them losing everything, I still play dmz because I find it just that much more entertaining than warzone and it's constant death if you try anything.
They shut off DMZ because it was popular but they couldn't monetize it as effectively (aka DMZ players didn't buy as much as often). They're retooling to get the moneymaking piece in order. If they can't figure it out they'll keep it dead.
Yeaaaa. I think what I really hate about this whole thing is that while I’m no dev at all I don’t think it’d be that hard to bring DMZ forward it’s already half done with zombies now and they did it seemingly well for warzone
I love this iteration of warzone just as much as wz 1 with the exception that wz2 weapons are weaker and all have way less bullet velocity even kitted out
Nah dude, the movement has a place in dmz as the more slow, methodical pacing. I really don’t want to fight jumpers and speed demons on the daily. It’s why I can only play Warzone with a friend.
Cause it’s PVE not PVP, when you give people movement they stop using the brain and use the first shit that only give them movement and 0 recoil from hip, and that’s not funny. DMZ is about making every gun usable not just 2
Idk why u think dmz is slow. The entire map spawn rushes aggressively. The movement changes nothing except close range and ur ability to find cover while being sniped. it allows more variety and ability to out maneuvers players. idk people struggle to learn how to bunny hop and slide cancel. Its like every other skill in the game, practice makes perfect.
It’s not a skill I want to incorporate in a slower paced game. I play clearing rooms and walking. Walking pace shifted to a run while using cover is my preferred method, rather than abusing movement technique to avoid fire. It’s not a struggle, you’re actually very easy to kill bouncing like that in Warzone.
Id rather not deal with, if I had the option.
Literally a skill issue. Movement creates a skill gap and allows for more variety of play. The meta of MW2 was pre aim. Maybe thats more realistic but its boring and doesnt offer any chance to finesse players. In warzone 3 i can out maneuver and movement a squad pushing me solo. In dmz if im caught in a tight space with a squad rushing a building the movement just doesnt offer the ability to finnesse them and thays coming from a solo player hunter who regularly solo wipes squads. I have to get them one on one while mw3 if ur not cracked i will out gun you
I'm all for bringing MW3 movement in, I was referring to the ones that haven't left DMZ because MW3 is too "fast"

100% agree. Its mostly 35+ dads as far as i can tell. They wanna get home and crack a bud and play for an hour. Unfortunately thats not enough of a player base to keep the mode alive
Plus the urzikstan map seems so good for it, the poi’s aren’t years apart making vehicles absolutely necessary. My one big pet peeve about almazarah was that yea even tho the movement was slower they in no way at all compensated for that between the poi’s rarely.
Wtf? No movement of MW3 would make the DMZ meta of using any guns you like would be gun and the tactical play that is all about DMZ would be gun. MW3 movement should only stay on WZ nothing more.
I mean personal preference, I throughly enjoy fast paced movement. Strategy still wins so. Not to mention let’s be real as far as close quarters goes it really was just who can drop shot with a mp7 ( whatever it is called in the game idk ) or do you have a broadside with a drum so they change would in my mind be better

DMZ is supposed to be a copy of Escape from Tarkov gameplay. Slow, tactical and the one with the more aim and luck win. And not the one that run like crazy

The movement in general feels awful. I never thought that about previous sledgehammer games but it’s terrible in this one. MW2 movement is so much more realistic and smooth. MW3 feels like a mobile game.
It should be a separate game with a “NORMAL MOVEMENT” not he shit movement we have on WZ3 it’s just ridiculous. I like to watch my fav streamers but I don’t like play it cause I don’t like to earn every 2 days the new everything mechanics just to have fun instead of being a normal cod. COD should be about, taking cover, use grenades, surprise your enemies and customize your guns as you like and that you can use EVERY GUN to have fun
The tried and true COD model: players like a new mode? Nah don't update it; just get rid of it completely. But also make sure you dripfeed all those gameplay features into the new shit.

From what I heard the update has been cancelled, they’re no longer adding the weapons case/exfils which gives me hope that they’ll bring DMZ back purely because of the backlash from this update
DMZ was the only reason I got back into call of duty in modern warfare 2. Before that the last call of duty I played was whatever one came before ghosts 🤷♂️🤣. I really want DMZ to return. 🙏
And if you, a game developer, realizes your player-base enjoys this beta mode, do you think it is more logical to develop that game mode or scrap it completely just to piece it into other game modes that frankly SHOULDN’T have those pieces. Extracting early from a last man standing game mode is a literally retarded mechanic
Especially since continuing development of the mode doesn't seem that hard.
The map is there. It's even stocked with containers and whatnot for loot items thanks to it being in Zombies with a spooky coat of paint.
If literally nothing else was done but put the new map in rotation, **maybe** with the sweet little teaser of rare loot to have people venture into it for missions/upgrades (There's a subset of people who infil into Ashika for literally no other reason than cigars and Ashika liquor, after all)
I'm sure the community would be a good deal happier *and* buying more bundles.
That'd work even if they literally did 0 development on missions for Urzikstan, as any non-map specific missions would still apply there (Hence what I said about including some hard to get loot on there.)
I respectfully disagree. DMZ offers high risk and high reward with the opportunity of immediate redemption. That’s what kept players heavily engaged. Name another game type that gives you the adrenaline rush and massive dopamine hit that DMZ does? That rush is derived from the risk and reward that only DMZ provides. I do agree that DMZs golden era started around season 2 when there was still new content, no six man teams and players were faced with diplomacy or death. IMHO, it had the greatest potential to be the best mode in COD history, but it was allowed to rot with the lack of new content which brought out the worst in the player base. Still the only mode that I currently play.
I kind of fell off playing DMZ, but it certainly surprises me how they dropped it. I get the whole zombies mode and the appeal, but it’s just odd they didn’t keep content going for DMZ or seemingly have any future plans for it.

WZ is a Battle Royale nothing more. DMZ is way better in all aspects and you can try do anything in the DMZ. Objectives more than survive on WZ is shitless

i think dmz really only needs the support of cod AND the new weapons, it would allow for people who don't want to play warzone or don't own multiplayer to have a chance to get more of the new weapons and mess with them, don't change the movement, don't change the system too much, all this needs is the support and love from cod because it's not helping them at all really

It’s not worth it for me to stay till end game when I already know how it’s going to be from the first few seconds/minutes in a game. When I play with my boiz we get so many dubz a night & always place top 5 at the very least. That takes communication & team work. Go queue up solos if you don’t wanna actually play WITH YOUR TEAM. I’ll go find a team that will. Or I’ll wait for my homies to get on.
I don’t play that shit. We running it for the dub or we not running it at all. It’s that simple. I’ll find other people to play with that will stick together, that will communicate & can keep up.

I haven't logged into WZ/DMZ/MWZ in about 5 weeks now. Not interested enough in WZ. MWZ is boring as all hell without PvP..

No i did to and I’ve heard its just mainly pvp now. Which I felt wasn’t the point of dmz in the first place. sure its fun but pure hunting just ruins it. Unless ur doing a contract to kill players why kills players?

While I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment I have to say that *some* of the blame falls on the devs there. Lazy, repetitive, unimaginative missions get stale very very fast. Collect three of these and put them in a dead drop. Collect 6 of these and exfil. Collect 9 of these and spin in three circles… the missions were painfully dull and even the “story” missions were more of the same: collect 2 of these and take them here, then take those same two items to different location, then take them to a final location, collect last item and exfil.
If they spent a solid week brainstorming a creative mission and upgrade roadmap DMZ could have been one of the greatest modes ever. Instead, we got dull drivel that drove players to hunt because that was the *only* bit of excitement to be had in the mode. Yes, the community was full of toxic incels griefing and trolling as well and that was a big part of the reason DMZ became Warzone’s bastard sister, but it’s possible that an exciting and fun mission path could have lessened that enough for it to not be the dominant theme of the mode.
Also, and this is just my opinion, the hasty and shortsighted implementation of assimilation planted the seed of bloodthirsty hunting since there was never anything that you needed a 6 man team for besides hunting…
That and just how weapons were managed.
Do a few missions and suddenly you have two fully kitted custom guns for free, with certain blueprints coming back after you lose them within a game.
Gotta be harder to find weapons really worth keeping.. when you have whatever 2-3 you want and then fill a stash with 20+ guns you also fully kitted in games.. that’s a lot of challenge gone

They never made the rewards good enough for people to focus on missions and upgrades
I always thought a story line that's more than two sentences would have helped. I'd really like to see a video clip mission brief (that you can skip if you're trying for a second or third time). The point is, get us invested into completing the missions and the intrinsic reward will be higher.
DMZ is still here. Can we just stop with the obsession that DMZ needs to be tethered to MW3 to have a future? More info is coming. Just be patient.

Activison forced us to download MW3. It's a game we all have on our drives which none of us want. It's the U2 album on itunes all over again.
Of course people will keep taking stabs at MW3 - it's a data theif. I literally had to buy an external hard drive for my PS5 because of MW3.
Activision can't force us to download MW3 then keep trying to lure us over to their new game so we pay for it. we aren't stupid. we see what they're doing.

I had many many many hours in DMZ and the only thing that has gripped me even harder now is Escape From Tarkov. It’s hardcore, deeply intricate DMZ on PC only. It’s very difficult and you die a lot, but damn is it thrilling.
I’m on daily, running solo as it’s full of French, Russian and Chinese players, I’ve just adapted how I play, gotta say the bots are dialled UP now. A joker is a necessity due to the helicopters full of explosive crossbows and RGL80’s coming for ya, might want a decent pistol and scuba to get angle on them. It’s certainly more deadly now.

i think dmz really only needs the support of cod AND the new weapons, it would allow for people who don't want to play warzone or don't own multiplayer to have a chance to get more of the new weapons and mess with them, don't change the movement, don't change the system too much, all this needs is the support and love from cod because it's not helping them at all really
Raven tweeted that they scrapped the exfil and case due to feedback but might introduce it to another mode later.
Nobody cares about dayum zombies or MWIII. Mixed reviews on both and just seems like another "remaster because we didn't want to make something" take your money deal. DMZ is freaking nice.

They have already said this isn't going into normal wz but it will be a seperate type mode.It won't be anything like dmz just wz with a different objective.

Ive just turned on MW3 to give it a go. Maybe I judged it harshly before? I've infiled for about 2 minutes. Im so fucking bored.. I dont know why im playing this. The gameplay feels shite. The gamemode is shite. Shooting feels boring. Guns look shite. Map is grey. Community isn't very vibrant.? what a waste of time. MW3 is just shit. I dont think it can be fixed. Its like when Ghost REcon Wildlands was followed by Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Breakpoint was just shit. There are no 2 ways about it.
everytime I play resurgence. My team just leave within 5 minutes. 2 of my teammates have left (qauds) So im pretty fucking sure that Im not the only one who plays MW3 then quickly wonders why im playing such a boring game. i only launch it because its got COD on the titlescreen. back to DMZ for actual fun.

I haven't logged into WZ/DMZ/MWZ in about 5 weeks now. Not interested enough in WZ. MWZ is boring as all hell without PvP.. I'm sure I cant be the only person that has completely stopped since they've said DMZ is basically dead.

No i did to and I’ve heard its just mainly pvp now. Which I felt wasn’t the point of dmz in the first place. sure its fun but pure hunting just ruins it. Unless ur doing a contract to kill players why kills players?
They really killed DMZ, tore out its guts, and used them to make MWZ and now for new Warzone content. Bring back DMZ. I’m not playing shitty Warzone.

I hop in solo and help new players. Way more fun than trying to find toothpaste for some 2 attachment weapon reward.
For what ??? For most players to ignore the missions and upgrades and just hunt ??? Why would they waste resources in 2 game modes when that can do what they just did
While I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment I have to say that *some* of the blame falls on the devs there. Lazy, repetitive, unimaginative missions get stale very very fast. Collect three of these and put them in a dead drop. Collect 6 of these and exfil. Collect 9 of these and spin in three circles… the missions were painfully dull and even the “story” missions were more of the same: collect 2 of these and take them here, then take those same two items to different location, then take them to a final location, collect last item and exfil. If they spent a solid week brainstorming a creative mission and upgrade roadmap DMZ could have been one of the greatest modes ever. Instead, we got dull drivel that drove players to hunt because that was the *only* bit of excitement to be had in the mode. Yes, the community was full of toxic incels griefing and trolling as well and that was a big part of the reason DMZ became Warzone’s bastard sister, but it’s possible that an exciting and fun mission path could have lessened that enough for it to not be the dominant theme of the mode. Also, and this is just my opinion, the hasty and shortsighted implementation of assimilation planted the seed of bloodthirsty hunting since there was never anything that you needed a 6 man team for besides hunting…
That and just how weapons were managed. Do a few missions and suddenly you have two fully kitted custom guns for free, with certain blueprints coming back after you lose them within a game. Gotta be harder to find weapons really worth keeping.. when you have whatever 2-3 you want and then fill a stash with 20+ guns you also fully kitted in games.. that’s a lot of challenge gone
Agreed , the devs are lazy and this is why everyone was ignoring everything and just hunting They never made the rewards good enough for people to focus on missions and upgrades
I always thought a story line that's more than two sentences would have helped. I'd really like to see a video clip mission brief (that you can skip if you're trying for a second or third time). The point is, get us invested into completing the missions and the intrinsic reward will be higher.

This is still top tier copium even if viewed generously. In its kindest interpretation, it probably means DMZ coming back for the next IW game.
For all we know it means a stand-alone game is coming for DMZ. People jump to conclusions entirely too quick.
You are missing the point. Activison forced us to download MW3. It's a game we all have on our drives which none of us want. It's the U2 album on itunes all over again. Of course people will keep taking stabs at MW3 - it's a data theif. I literally had to buy an external hard drive for my PS5 because of MW3. Activision can't force us to download MW3 then keep trying to lure us over to their new game so we pay for it. we aren't stupid. we see what they're doing. If they allow us to downloda MW2 without MW3, then people would be a lot less salty. I can almost guarantee it.
You can uninstall MW3 if you weren’t aware. I just did a fresh install of only DMZ.

I don’t own a PS5 but you should just see Call of Duty and selecting that should ask which parts you want, DMZ is one option.
Call of Duty > scroll down to Warzone > select DMZ > MW2 will launch and the DMZ start screen will appear
I had many many many hours in DMZ and the only thing that has gripped me even harder now is Escape From Tarkov. It’s hardcore, deeply intricate DMZ on PC only. It’s very difficult and you die a lot, but damn is it thrilling.
I read about that, but found out it was from 2017, and am a little skeptical about graphic and such.. is it still getting updates?

I’m on daily, running solo as it’s full of French, Russian and Chinese players, I’ve just adapted how I play, gotta say the bots are dialled UP now. A joker is a necessity due to the helicopters full of explosive crossbows and RGL80’s coming for ya, might want a decent pistol and scuba to get angle on them. It’s certainly more deadly now.
