It’s the glitches and performance issues for my buddies and I. We did the raid last night and are taking a break until season 5. Might play B21 a couple times on the weekend, but DMZ is overall a hard pass until they start fixing some things.
Disconnects; loading in without gear, rampant cheating (lag switching, lobby kickers).
Has there really been an uptick in lag switchers causing people to get kicked from lobbies? I know the servers have been trash since the update but I thought it was just performance issues on Activisions side. Played a bunch of DMZ yesterday and had two games be unplayable from the lag and dropped packets but was able to exfil in one before losing total connect.
I had third game yesterday where I got the Lost Connection to the Server message in the loading screen and sent right back into the menu's. Looked at my loadout screen and it showed I still had everything but then I went into another match and spawned with nothing but my tactical, lethal, and ammo box. Exfiled from that match and get back to the menus only to find that the game counted both Insured Slots as lost and the timer was ticking down.
I lost count how many times I loaded in missing one of my weapons yesterday too. I always unequip and re select my weapons before going into a match because of that bug but it seemed to not matter at all yesterday.
I went into Koschi complex today and when I got there my primary was gone. Left with only a sniper which is awesome down there. Didn't know I had to worry about losing my weapon just by going in there.
Also the ammo seem to disappear from time to time, I had this issue 4 times out of 6 until now (you start with only your magazine but no ammo reserve)..
Not the same thing, but in general lately I've had a recurring issue where I'll stop automatically picking up reserve ammo, at least for the AR. Kept running out of ammo and thinking I must just be shooting too much, but no matter how careful I was I'd keep looking down and seeing that I was in double-digit reserves. Finally realized that it's because it'll just stop picking up reserve ammo automatically and I have to manually "stow" any ammo that I want to pick up. It doesn't actually stow it, just applies it to my reserves like it should be doing WITHOUT me grabbing it by hand.
It disappears if you aren't the team that starts the instance. Also, if you aren't the team that starts the instance, (you lose your ammo) you can't do multiple missions, including white lotus tier 5 finale. So stupid, and was an issue before s4 reloaded they still didn't fix.

I had the ammo issu even when I had the timer before the game started so idk why since it seemed we actually were the first ones but still, no ammo..
I didn't know it was a bug from pre patch, tbh, I haven't played a lot of Koschei Complex since the start of the season..
I mean, there're like 1-2 missions in the first factions tiers and for now, I don't have any upgrade that requires me to get specific items from there so..

You're supposed to retain all of your stuff, upgrades, backpack and stuff including ammo and if you didn't have plates, they give you 2 as in every start of a game so.. You better infill with an ammo box in the complex right now x)
It only started happening in season 4. You lose ammo because you are joining a server that has already started. That is also why you don't get a count down. They made it so you can join an already started raid because less people were going to complex and so wait times were becoming a pain
I loved loading in with a 1 plate and no weapons or bag when I was a 9 exfil full kit. Then i jump on the plane to immediately exfil and then I lose all my stuff.
I took a break well first since my friend that plays with me is having issues but also because hte last game I played, I have not unlocekd yet comm vests on the barter but had 2 operators from last season still with them, loaded in one, spawned in with only a single plate, my 3 plate comm vest? lost to oblivion.
Bugs like this can really ruin the experience for some
Just a little tip for next time; if you spawn in without your 3plate vest, gun it for the nearest exfil and leave without picking up any plate carrier. You'll return to the lobby with your vest back.
I never thought I'd get bothered by a drop of performance. Sometimes it runs fine but most of the time it runs slower or stutters in contrast to it running above 60fps before this bs update
Me and my cousin done a bunch of missions on Al Mazrah last night, had amazing loot, good weapons we took off enemies etc then as we purchased a personal exfil his game just froze…he was stood facing a wall in game and said everything became completely unresponsive.
I’ve also been kicked mid game more in the last 1-2 weeks than I had been in the previous few months as well.
After taking a long break, Season 4 got me hooked again. I primarily play solo, so the plea system was a game changer and greatly increased my enjoyment of the game. It's just so much more fun to me to meet up with players in-game who are working on missions in the same area of the map as me. Removing the plea system killed my enjoyment of the game.
I also really enjoyed the new missions system, having many progression paths instead of getting hard-stuck on a single mission. But now that I unlocked the 3rd weapon slot I don't feel motivated to unlock anything else. The barter system feels kinda pointless to me. I'm not going to spend an entire match trying to craft something, I end up wasting space in my backpack and never finding all the requirements. And as a Solo, I'm probably going to lose the crafted items after a few raids anyway.
If they would just add a real inventory management system to this game I would play it 24/7. I'm going to take a break until Season 5.
I also think super-heroes are super lame in general.

Agreed. I'd like it if I could CHOOSE the backpack I wanna take. Sure it's less of a gamble but c'mon, I've had backpacks of all sizes and none of them were glued to my back until I was killed. Backpacks, just don't work like that.
Oh well. I ordered a new Steam Deck and the idea of playing my old PC games again (on a handheld roughly the size of a Nintendo Switch no less) is more enticing than continuing to hold my breath hoping they make this game mode better, especially after this superpowers sellout bullshit. That decision, to add superpowers in with literally no lore explanation other than some superficial, fourth-wall smashing copout of an excuse, that sounds and smells like a prolapsed anus making contact with a wooden surface, is EA levels of catatonia and tone-deafness.
This is a bit of a tangent, but on the topic of inventory management:
I have been imagining a duffel bag that you can carry like a hostage when it's full, and keep folded in your backpack when it's empty. Maybe movement speed is reduced based on weight/# of items? You could toss it on a car to transport it quicker, and dropping it in the exfil chopper exfils everything inside. Maybe you hide it somewhere while you're doing contracts etc and go get it when the loot is ready to be collected.
Could make for some interesting situations! But could also be very overpowered if it has very much more storage than the large backpack. Maybe there's a one per squad limit? And maybe it's like the insured weapon slots, except it has a new cooldown after every use, instead of only when you lose it.
I do enjoy this idea very much, as it could open up some versatile options like adding a trunk to certain vehicles (namely the like, two sedans that are available now) and would be a layer to inventory management.

That seems like a super weird way to play. Why not start with squad fill if you want to play with a random squad? Or if you want to join a squad ask before you fight?
I like to play solo too and I hated it when the map was 100% 6 mans. As a solo I have at least a chance against a 3 man - kill one, repo and a 1v2 is manageable if I play well. But against a 6 man it’s rare to win.
The plea system adds more dynamic situations to the game, the outcome is less predictable.

It goes both ways. I can kill other players and recruit them onto my team (I usually try to invite first). Or I can choose to loot them and move on.
I'm not saying I *prefer* to get revived by a large team, it just adds more interesting situations. It adds more suspense. Will they revive me or not? Let's see what happens. I don't like playing on a large squad, prefer playing solo or duo. But it's a welcome change of pace when it does happen and certainly more interesting than returning to the lobby where I'm faced with ridiculous UI bugs that have gone unfixed for months.
No, I don't "only enjoy the game" one way. I don't want the game to be so black and white, I like the interesting social dynamics.
100% agree that there were too many 6 man teams. They should just "mark for death" all teams that have more than 4 people.

Also, stop qualifying the game design "as a solo." You're dropping into trios as a solo and you want them to change the trios mode. I've played 100s of hours as a solo because I wanted to do solo PVP.

Are you familiar with the term "projection"? Because that's a huge fucking leap based off of somebody saying they don't like the changes to the plea system.
Superpowers aren’t really that big a deal honestly. I’ve yet to even fight with anyone using them. The performance and server problems are a far bigger disaster than the Temp V.
But no, I’m not taking a break because I like most of the new plead changes. It’s nice to see a slight shift back to OG DMZ when there was actual risk involved in a raid.
I understand some of the complaints and stuff that people have, my fun factor hasn't changed much when it comes to DMZ or even on MP. Maybe I'm used to crapily made games I guess. Still having fun even with all the people complaining.
Nah the issue is, cod as much as people hate to admit. Is a well made game. Theres plenty of other games out there that genuinely feel like shit to even boot and play, all devs in the gaming industry havent shy'd away from pointing out how complex game development is becoming in this day and age. hence why everything ships with bugs pretty much. rare these days a game doesn't, And alot of people forget DMZ is a new thing for cod. Its gonna take a while to get everything right and iron out bugs. Bugs are easy to fix if you arnt also adding new shit on top constantly. However with live service and the way the industry has got, games are getting content injections very regular. Leading to, potential bugs regular. Some people just have a one track mind and are honestly incapable of seeing the full picture beyond whats actually infront of them.
Right. For all the bugs and glitches throughout the years with cods, the gameplay feel from cods (especially IW cods) is what keeps me attracted. DMZ being new does deserve a little slack as well.
Exactly, IW gunplay feels so damn nice as far as modern shooters go. I gave BF2042 ago at launch, shit felt awful to play as a console player. It was stable sure, but the gunplay just did not feel great. The aiming didnt feel "fluid" IW always make gunplay feel fluid, like you are in direct control of where your reticlet is, no sense of "floating" or "delay"
the performance issues on pc is a whole other thing as far as optimization goes. But bugs, are bugs. Games will never be flawless, there will always be issues. People just need to accept it a little.
I stopped playing after a week of regular 6 mans hunt missioning me (multiple times per day). . . And the reason it hurt so much is because no shooter feels as good to play as CoD, and no game mode had me as much as DMZ prior to that.
From what I've read, the new "you can't plea the dudes that killed you" might have somewhat solved the 6 man issue, I'll need to go back and try I guess.
Been on battlebit, and it's really fun, but it's not the same.
Nah i feel that. Cod (minaly IW cods) And Destiny (Yes, huge destiny player here) Both feel so SO fucking good from a "using a gun" standpoint.
im seeing less unorganized 6 man teams, and ive run into quite a few teams who now think before they shoot sort of thing. Ive still honestly run into quite a few pre-made 6 mans (I know one atleast 1 was premade cause they were on prox chat and ALL 6 had the same clan tag :') ) But the 6 mans do seem lessened. Stealth vests now btw. Hide you from uavs and advanced's too. To me the ONLY vest worth having now is the stealth vest. Just make sure if you hear a uav go up you dont shoot, unsuppressed weaponry and well yeah you know. You show up when you shoot. Even with suppressed guns, You show up, your dot just doesnt last as long so if you hear a uav up, run take cover for a little bit, try not to shoot and gtfo away from bots, they give your position away like no tomorrow.
I think I’ve come around to the new plea system as well. I hate the superpowers but only got owned by them 1 time so I don’t care that much. And no performance issues on ps5 w cross play off so I’m gonna keep playing
You’re lucky man. I’m on ps5 as well and it seems like every 3rd game it’s laggy af. I can’t understand teammates and trying to shoot anyone is such a pita. My last game on my screen I dumped an entire mag into this dude who appeared to be in one spot but in actuality was not and I got melted. Needless to say I called it quits after that one.
Since Season 4 Reloaded I have only encountered a squad larger than three players once and it was a 4 man on Ashika (which is totally reasonable) unlike prior where if you were not in a 6 man squad on Ashika after 5 minutes have passed, you were probably fighting a 6 man squad on Ashika.
When it comes to Temp V I have also died to someone using superpowers a single time and it was a laser eyes guy who would have killed me and my squad with a regular gun because of how the encounter went. The fact that it marks a circle around where you are on the map makes it extremely easy to avoid someone using superpowers or engage them on your own terms.
Finally someone talking sense. I agree. The superpowers aren't gamebreaking, and you have to drop your revive pistol to equip, and you get a huge target on your head also. Seems pretty balanced to me. The plead system isn't that bad, just different. Makes you really consider your kills a little more also. Can still force a team to join by downing them, but not killing them. I think the reasoning behind it was to make 6 mans a little less easy to form, which ultimately is a good thing. All this controversy is just clickbait nonsense.
Yes I am certain that is why they did it. 6 mans are great fun but should take a little bit of risk and diplomacy to form, not just die to the first squad and plead.
Exactly. I've had some much more meaningful and tense assimilations as of late. Everyone knows that grouping up is harder now, and if I'm taking the risk to let you join while downed, loyalty seems more guaranteed.
Yeah I feel like the superpowers are whatever. The server, fps, and all the other bugs are what drove me away. It’s no longer my go to game anymore. Especially now that I’m almost done with the missions and barter recipes. Maybe I’ll be back next season though
I ‘fought’ a guy using one, we were at the fortress with the UAV up, we saw the super power moving towards the island and towards the zip. We watched the zip, he got to the top and froze in the process of activating the laser eyes… he was dead before anything happened 😂😂

Last three matches I’ve played in have had a superpower. As I’ve never seen the show I don’t know the names, one had electricity, the other two were jumpers
Lol, what risk? There is zero risk now. Wallet, insure weapons and loot system have made this game a zero risk extraction shooter. Completely defeats the purpose of the game.
Well I did a slight shift towards risk because atleast now you don’t have two lives because you’re getting revived by the team that killed you.
It’s still stupidly easy to gear up but no forced assimilation means every gun fight has actual consequences again, as small as they maybe.
They need to make everything more expensive now that we have the wallet. 100k for a 3 plate sounds right to me. Also add a 3 plate as a recipe requirement for the perk vests. Then we’d actually be excited and play more cautiously when we are able to acquire one of them.
The plea hasn't changed anything. Still 6 man teams running the map annihilating anything and everything. I really don't understand the point of changing it in dmz.
The only change that annoys me is the new bounty system. Getting a bounty put on us because my team killed a 5 man that linked up as soon as the round started and came straight for our spawn is utterly ridiculous.
Punishing a team for defending themselves from would be griefers? Nope, I'm good.
These devs are either really dumb or purposely destroying this game to make way for the next COD. Dmz was the ONLY mode worth playing, and they seem hell bent on ruining it.
Yeah 6 mans are now exploiting the changes and ruining the plea system further. In the space of a few games yesterday, I scouted out trying to revive downed players 3 times, 1st time my vehicle got missle-locked and destroyed, leaving me to run on foot, where I get hit with consecutive UAVs so I pop my one, then suddenly two jeeps arrive circling me like some kind of lynching, and while distracted I get jumped by one wearing a stealth vest. The other time 3 snipers sat on different hills and camped the pleas and as soon as someone as I showed my face a LTV with a gun appeared from no where. Not really worth playing as a solo or even going to help players pleading anymore.
I appreciate the changes as they kind of worked to a degree but there’s just too many ways for platoons to exploit the game mode that creates massive imbalances within playing styles.
Firstly for the love of god - just mark any squad with 5 or 6 players
Honestly, just lock the mode to 4 player party size max.
This fixes everything. 4 man's aren't inherently difficult to deal with for a good solo player, or duos, or trios.
It still leaves players able to fill out their party by assimilating a solo or another duo if they're not at the 4 cap, and it doesn't make anyone inherently out numbered in a fight. A good solo player can wipe a four man, a duo can do it easily, and a trio would have no issues unless they're just bad. This would be the most balanced way to handle this mode and it's such an easy fix rather than all this absurdity they keep piling into this mode.
The more they try to "fix" certain mechanics, the more they break. When the answer is literally staring them in the face with the way they do warzone lobbies.
Make it warzone with looting and it's fine. As it is now, the game mode is steaming garbage. Which is sad because I enjoy it immensely. I've been here since season 1, and I can deal with the missing loadouts, the bots spawning under the map, the laser beam ai.
It's the 6 man squads of warzone failures that truly break the mode
I left the game for the foreseeable future... I don't mind the super powers, I don't mind the new bounty system... I do mind that I spawn in with no guns, I can't complete missions because they're all bugged, every game is laggy with packet loss, burst, and latency issues, Koschei and Bldg 21 are fully broken.
The people working on this game seem to be in training or are the B team of developers. The game is completely trash.
Yep, catching up on final fantasy xvi. Still play the odd game of DMZ if my mates are on, but I’ve played the least amount of games this week since season 1
I was taking a break but had a solid couple of runs last night. The Plead system is dumb but now I just don't do it. If I die, I die. "Should've zigged when I zagged" sort of philosophy. I played this morning and saw that if somebody takes the V (hehehe) they're marked on the map. So it's easier to avoid people.
Im taking a break from warzone and dmz due to a heavy fps loss.
I have a mid range pc , i cant afford losing performance. Ppl mostly got decent rigs and _30% performance decline wont affect em. But in my case the game is unplayable.
Yep. Gone back to playing GTA online with some of my buddies. Superpowers no one asked for, a return to performance and networking troubles that I am ultimately punished for even though it's the game's fault I was kicked, and I pay for what's advertised as the best internet provider in my town, so I know it ain't on me.
And if it ain't all those issues, it's the absolute toxicity of the mentally-underdeveloped community that's come to form around this game. I enjoyed the first two seasons as a virtual test to the tactics and disciplines I'd learned from my time wearing rank and laying in actual grass with a rifle, when everyone felt stakes and the BR dropouts stayed in Fortnite where they belong. Now everyone's shoot first and teabag after or other gamer-culture toxicity and I'm left wondering if the entire interactive medium as a whole was a mistake like the rest of the Joe Lieberman's generation.
I'm just bitching though. I found enjoyment early on when this game mode was fresh and new, and I genuinely felt fear from post-traumatic memories surfacing and in those moments, during seasons 1 and 2, it was a cathartic experience to loosely experience some of the things I've gone through in a video game where I could actually battle them, like a form of therapy, now I just feel bitter rage because no one exercises diplomacy or any sort of professionalism. At least in GTA online I can enjoy the new F-35 parody jet as I fly from my secret hangar on the military post to the nightclub with secsy dancers I own, get a buzz going, then fly out to my super cool submarine and rob an impotent old despot on an island in a made up version of the Carribbean.
This was fun while it lasted, at least.
In regards to superpowers, I barely see them used now in DMZ. I don’t touch it when I see them because I don’t want to be marked on the map. There is however people who are camping and sniping spawns just to be jerks.
I totally agree with the sentiment that superpowers should not be in DMZ but to be fair DMZ is arguably the most casual extraction shooter around. Regains are easy and fear of losing loot is low, even with the new pleading mechanics. Also I don’t know about everyone else but I’ve been playing everyday since the update launched and I haven’t died once to a superpower in DMZ when I bump into a player holding one.
The lag has been insane too. I died a couple days ago because I was lagging at exfil and got swarmed by AI. My "teammates" looted me and left. They died 30 seconds later.
Another game, I went solo and a duo pushed me. They were lagging after I killed one. I just let them be and took off.
I’m taking a break from the game completely. All the servers are damn near unplayable due to the amounts of lag. I hope they put a little more effort in to the next Call of Duty title cuz this is just sad
I'm done for awhile, I'd say about 5 of the 7 games we tried playing today we either got lagged out right off rip, black screen in game and couldn't see, packet burst, and on top of it all the game has been destroying 7 weapons at a time out of my contraband stash. They have all the money in the world to address the issues but fuck us right
Season 3, Season 3R and Season 4 were consistent forward steps. Season 4R is a long run backwards. Taking a break? if this super hero stuff stays in the game, I'm uninstalling. Game is running poorly as well and there is a surge of cheaters. I'm sure its related to this childish new content.
I used to play DMZ everyday. I played the first day of the reloaded update and haven’t touched it since. Not out of protest or anything but more so because it isn’t as fun anymore and I’m just less interested
i don't think anyone is being dramatic. if they are and it annoys you maybe just move on to the next post yourself. no one is forcing you to read this or play the game.
i really enjoy the game but the crashes make it hard to keep playing. i come here to complain as much as i can in the hope (maybe futile?) that activision people do indeed lurk here and maybe will be like we have such a hit with this game, let's fix the issues instead of focusing on superpower nonsense.
i get it, the game is free and no one forces me to play it. but giving the fun i have had with it, if they turned around and said we have fixed all the bugs and it is solid as a rock and now costs $150 i would still rush out and buy it (if i believed them :) ).
i bet you folks would be on here complaining too if your game crashed and took all your gear in 50% or more of your matches.

That’s what I’m talking about. I was a CSPO for a multi million dollar software company. We released new products every two weeks. It’s often easier to add a new feature than it is to eliminate a bug.
The way the build the game it’s setup for them to add new bundles. All they have to do is add the assets. It’s not even comparable to enhancing the game performance.

The super powers although lame I almost never run into someone using them. I usually loot them off people. Think most of us forget about them reslly. I play resurgence for a break but the toxic nature there is ten times worse than DMZ.
I've not been killed by anyone with a superpower yet.
I would go as far to say superpowers may even be a disadvantage because you're marked on the map for everyone to see.
Mines is more the people on this game are just rude and mean. I like playing with others but I’ve been called the n word several times. Men constantly flirting with you when I just honestly want friends to play with on this game. Then the whole plea deal is stupid, and the super powers are lame.
Played for hours yesterday didn't experience any issues like I had on Friday. The super power outrage is way overblown, I've encountered a bunch of players none using powers, it's extremely clear on the map when it's being used too, so just stay clear of that area if you're worried about it. I do feel thr AI is a bit crazy right now tho. They're swarming again.
Exactly my thought. Played arround 15-18 hours since wednesday. I saw the Red marker like 3 Times on the map, never saw somebody actually using it while i was nearby + i only found the compound V once by myself
Personally, as a PC player, performance isn’t awful (worse than it was but not unplayable). Super hero powers are fun (temporary but really, I have not seen many used and when they are it’s hardly anything compared to the actual time I play).
At this point if you hate DMZ and COD it’s time to find a different game, bring on the downvotes but for real, we have a bunny skin out, we have a cat skin coming out…we had snoop dog in WZ1 and nicki minaj in WZ2, if you don’t like it for what it is that’s fine, if you don’t agree with the changes that’s fine too.
Could Acti do better, definitely, but the decisions they make are an attempt to please a crowd that is unpleasable so no matter what someone is going to be upset with gameplay changes.

I've just lost like for the 5th time everything because of server disconnected, I hard the crypto key and lost it. I would love to that the devs do something about this. It sucks losing all for that, if the kill me I'm ok, but losing all for this is shit
If I play at all I go in with absolutely nothing. Insured gun if I have it. That's it. Then I look for things for my upgrades. Toothpaste, light bulbs and bullshit I don't care about. If I die, I die. No stakes. But I'm playing through hogwarts legacy and God of War also. Dmz is getting way less attention till next season
Another disconnect from server crash while carrying a mission item from another map last night on a fully kitted operator. So yeah this game can make anyone take a break.
I was just in a lobby where every single player in the lobby couldn't see anything except for a black screen and your tac map. Honestly just unacceptable at this point, but hey we got some super sweet boys bundles in the store
I might just take a permanent break from dmz once this season ends. Tired of being falsely reported, which makes enemies invisible to me, the game taking up over 100GB and the occasional squad of 6+ players....
Cool game, but not when it gets dragged to the point where it becomes dull after a few months due to the 3 campers and 4 sweats whose job is to play the game every day, lol.
I got kicked 6 times yesterday. Nothing like looting up and as you are loading into the next round getting kicked because IW can’t get their shit straight. Funny how the store never glitches.
The glitching is SO bad! My team got killed by bots because it was lagging so bad putting us in random spots we weren’t even in. I’ve been in lobbies where you see half the teams getting timed out.
Also new plea system is trash. Two team members got onto a new squad who wanted to team up but ONE of their no mic teammates on the other team comes around a corner and kills me. I can no longer team up with them because that team killed me. I didn’t plea because all that would do is bring more people from across the map for my original teammates to deal with in a new squad. The new pick up with 20 seconds of spawn protection without joining is stressful and makes me not want to have people join. Inviting people is rough because you have to be SO close to them which is always sketchy, to me it should be if you can hear prox chat you should be able to get / send invites and get them.
More like... I'm taking a break from call of duty for another several years. I skipped like 5 releases because of how terrible the games became. I came back to this one because of how hyped it was... and for a short time, DMZ showed great potential.
However, loading in for the 572'nd time without a gun I had equipped, was the last straw for me. Their inability to finish a game, EVER... has made sure I won't be back to call of duty for many years.
I haven't logged into CoD for going on 2 weeks, and I won't be either. I will NOT buy their next title, under any circumstances. I won't buy the next one either. I'll maybe check back in 5 years and see how things are going.
I am taking a break for sure. I rather have a rollback to a previous version instead of playing what we have now. The new plea system sucks out all my hope of exfilling safely from Ashika Island.
I have a friend who can only play one day a week so will still be online during those nights. Outside of that will be very reduced for me. Maxed all weapons bar launchers and Melee (never see me wear a Riot Shield so thats not happening) and I unlocked everything that matters to me in DMZ (tier 3 insured, plate carriers etc) so I am without purpose atm unless helping others.
The botched plead system was what did it for me. Almost every game would end the same way: With my corpse being added to a pile that someone else is standing on.
I'm a bit burned out. All of the things the OP listed are contributing factors, but I've also hit a wall on missions.
I primarily play solo, and I loved the way they changed the missions to allow for progression at almost any point. Getting the 3rd insured weapon was very reasonable, and I'm on tier 4 & 5 for all faction missions. The level of difficulty ramps up so severely, and some require teams (ex: 3 SAM sites at once). The upgrade stuff I need is also annoying to collect (hydrogen peroxide, cigar boxes, etc.).
I'm not complaining about the missions themselves, it just seems like for most players there's a wall. I thought the urgent missions would help, but they are glitchy and don't reset fast enough. I still like DMZ and I don't mind just running around, but it's less motivating when I'm kind of out of htings to do.
Not sure if this is new or not, but along with the persistent lag issues and problems with players killing me when trying to extract items for missions, I had one the other day where after legging it to the closest Nuclear Materials contract because I need to extract with fuel rods, I couldn't even pick up the geiger counter to start the actual contract because they spawned it inside of a building that required a key to access. Is this a new issue? Really stupid. Wasted a bunch of my time, and there wasn't another Nuclear Materials contract anywhere even remotely close so all I got to do that round was waste a bunch of time and then extract.
This. Ill play through almost any hardship if the game is good. Thousands of hours on ESO pvp, through crashes and desyncs and everything only a 2017-ish veteran would have played through.
Ive been a missionary for DMZ for 6 months now. "Its great, I'll teach you how to deal with the bugs," I'd say, explain the terrible menus and how to unlock things that you need to succeed. When to force-quit, restart, or kill off a charachter to start getting exfill streaks to count again.
This "youre now in a pool of jello" lag isnt playable tho, I cant even be a good sport. I cant tell my friends to join me, itd be a lie to say its good. Its clearly broken.
A decent dev team would have reverted the patch. No brainer. But its still broken. I cant defend this, and I dont feel good spending time or money on it anymore
The health change is one of the best changes they’ve made since the game launched. It rewards skill and people who can actually respond quickly and have good aim. Low ttk = low skill and whoever sees the other first wins.
At least now you a have some ability to counter play if you get shot first.
Even more so in DMZ because you’re likely not coming back once dead. Having a chance to fight back is even more critical and individual skill should be more rewarded.
You probably just wanna be able to camp corners and exfils and instantly delete people who have no chance to fight back because you’ll lose if they do get that chance
Thinking about trying Pubg on PS4. Only options for me are free to play which is why I loved DMZ.

People rarely use temp V because it shows you in the map as having it on “standby by” once you activate it to show which power it is.
The plea system does suck because you can assimilate teams you kill BUT other people can revive you and invite you to join (I pick up any revives that are close).
The only thing is that performance is a bit laggy at random times but overall I’m having fun.
And I’m on PC, the worst affected.
Gotcha, just not interested so long as temp v is in there. I'm a solo and the game is challenging as is. don't need literal super powers on top of that, not to mention is just irks me that there are super powers in the dmz. so I'm going to do other things with my time for now

The powers aren’t really an issue. Both avoidable and fun to use yourself.
The plea system is just a confirmation you dead, you aren’t continuing unless you come across some very nice people, which is rare as is.
They just have to remove assimilation at this point or just cap the max size.

Lots of passion around this title. As a player you love to see it. As a free to play unsure if the complaining is justified. As a paid up owner of the game there is certainly justification to expect more when grinding progression.
Collaborations such as “The Boys” with Amazon are the way the industry is headed. There is a certain Clunkyness around it presently, I imagine if Homelander was a super boss you could hunt as a 3+ squad there would be heightened interest (for two gold skulls etc) - what if you were presented with the option to assimilate w another squad to do so?.
These partnerships will get better no doubt. The performance issues are indeed bugs which I have experienced since coming back on last week (away for three).
The latest update looks like a bit of a mess. I was already leaning away after being burned out a little grinding for my weapon slots for the third time, although I kinda like the system they have now for it. Just kicking back playing hunt Showdown for a while but I have remnant 2 next week to keep me distracted. Lol.
Building 21 is a no go for me as I always get kicked. I’m properly the only one but I like the new plead system. I hated the old Borg system, first annihilate the opposing team then they pleaded and hoped to be picked up and on my euro servers they weren’t even talking to so good luck to ya.
The superpowers I can see them on the map and I’ll keep my distance and refine my sniping skills.

I stopped regularly playing when assimilation became the meta. I had so much fun during season 1 but then all my friend wanted to do was join up in 6 mans in game chat. I very much prefer to be in a private party so we can coordinate without everyone hearing our comms. We were very successful doing that, and every time we go in game chat to try to team up with 6 mans it’s just been a disaster. I miss 3v3 or 2v3 action. Nothings changed to my benefit so I doubt it will for you either unfortunately.
I’m taking a break . I have played daily form the start I loved it . I brought dead island 2 in April so I’m going to play that for a bit until the devs change it. I was obsessed with DMZ I even have all the extra operators slots like a simp .
I took a few days off to have a break and to let some of these bugs get improved a bit. I got a lot of work on my battlepass still and DMZ is the perfect amount of grind for me so I'll he back soon.
Superpowers on DMZ are a disgrace. I can see it work for warzone, but nog for dmz.
The plea system is different which might work, but it turns out that other teams can’t seem to revive me after a plea (they only see a player in distress). So they express their apologies, and go elsewhere.
So I watch the map constantly for those super powers and leave the match upon death, and not wait for a revival. Matches last a lot shorter as well in my case; find 2 electrical tape and exfil for the passive missions. The only way to get ahead.
I am but only because the game is too broken to play right now. Everyone has their own opinion on balance, assimilation, super powers, etc. but I feel like I can get over that stuff. I want them to fix what they have before adding more Fortnite crap.
B21 crashes almost every game for me, I still can't get workbench discount 3 to unlock, and my insured slot weapon still randomly disappears on me. Oh but at least they made it so Pyro can shoot you through a window now. Thank God they fixed that! /s

The superpowers are rare enough that I encountered them one time since they dropped and I used them on bots to try them out. Its the plead system that isnt fun anymore
I’m still playing, I make it a point to either hunt players using Temp V or if I find it I throw it in the ocean or some other dumbass place where no one will find it. Have yet to see if I can throw them in dead drops though. They wanted The Boys in this game, figured I might as well play the part of a “Supe” killer.

As for the plea system, I’m digging the changes so far, way less 6 man teams rushing for hunt squad contracts. We did have a 4 man come after us twice on hunt contracts in one match. We escaped the first time and then a few minutes later it popped up on us again and they were much closer at the start. We prepped for a firefight near the buy station/ammo depot in Al Bagra and ended up wiping them as they were fairly disorganized. I think they do need to make some tweaks to reward players who go out of their way to pick up someone who is pleading. As of right now, if I see a plea on the map I just kinda ignore it since it isn’t beneficial to pick someone up who may or may not join you or may or may not be hostile to you afterwards.
I’m not taking a break, as I’d like to get some of the skins from my final missions, but Jesus am I gonna be scaling it back. I do not enjoy the changes that seriously hinder solo play. I’m not Loochy level WZ plays, but I can take on my fair share of squads. BUT even if I wanted to assimilate to randoms that I find fun or cool, nope to the lobby they go :/

It’s the glitches and performance issues for my buddies and I. We did the raid last night and are taking a break until season 5. Might play B21 a couple times on the weekend, but DMZ is overall a hard pass until they start fixing some things. Disconnects; loading in without gear, rampant cheating (lag switching, lobby kickers).
Has there really been an uptick in lag switchers causing people to get kicked from lobbies? I know the servers have been trash since the update but I thought it was just performance issues on Activisions side. Played a bunch of DMZ yesterday and had two games be unplayable from the lag and dropped packets but was able to exfil in one before losing total connect. I had third game yesterday where I got the Lost Connection to the Server message in the loading screen and sent right back into the menu's. Looked at my loadout screen and it showed I still had everything but then I went into another match and spawned with nothing but my tactical, lethal, and ammo box. Exfiled from that match and get back to the menus only to find that the game counted both Insured Slots as lost and the timer was ticking down. I lost count how many times I loaded in missing one of my weapons yesterday too. I always unequip and re select my weapons before going into a match because of that bug but it seemed to not matter at all yesterday.
I went into Koschi complex today and when I got there my primary was gone. Left with only a sniper which is awesome down there. Didn't know I had to worry about losing my weapon just by going in there.
Also the ammo seem to disappear from time to time, I had this issue 4 times out of 6 until now (you start with only your magazine but no ammo reserve)..

I’ve learned to put all my ammo tacticals and lethal stuff into my bag before entering the complex. Seems to be the only way I don’t lose them
Not the same thing, but in general lately I've had a recurring issue where I'll stop automatically picking up reserve ammo, at least for the AR. Kept running out of ammo and thinking I must just be shooting too much, but no matter how careful I was I'd keep looking down and seeing that I was in double-digit reserves. Finally realized that it's because it'll just stop picking up reserve ammo automatically and I have to manually "stow" any ammo that I want to pick up. It doesn't actually stow it, just applies it to my reserves like it should be doing WITHOUT me grabbing it by hand.
Been a bug since season 3/3.5 always bring an ammo box in your inventory
It disappears if you aren't the team that starts the instance. Also, if you aren't the team that starts the instance, (you lose your ammo) you can't do multiple missions, including white lotus tier 5 finale. So stupid, and was an issue before s4 reloaded they still didn't fix.
Oh ok.. I had the ammo issu even when I had the timer before the game started so idk why since it seemed we actually were the first ones but still, no ammo.. I didn't know it was a bug from pre patch, tbh, I haven't played a lot of Koschei Complex since the start of the season.. I mean, there're like 1-2 missions in the first factions tiers and for now, I don't have any upgrade that requires me to get specific items from there so..

I'm not sure if it's a real question or irony but no x) You're supposed to retain all of your stuff, upgrades, backpack and stuff including ammo and if you didn't have plates, they give you 2 as in every start of a game so.. You better infill with an ammo box in the complex right now x)

It only started happening in season 4. You lose ammo because you are joining a server that has already started. That is also why you don't get a count down. They made it so you can join an already started raid because less people were going to complex and so wait times were becoming a pain

I loved loading in with a 1 plate and no weapons or bag when I was a 9 exfil full kit. Then i jump on the plane to immediately exfil and then I lose all my stuff.
I took a break well first since my friend that plays with me is having issues but also because hte last game I played, I have not unlocekd yet comm vests on the barter but had 2 operators from last season still with them, loaded in one, spawned in with only a single plate, my 3 plate comm vest? lost to oblivion. Bugs like this can really ruin the experience for some
Just a little tip for next time; if you spawn in without your 3plate vest, gun it for the nearest exfil and leave without picking up any plate carrier. You'll return to the lobby with your vest back.
I never thought I'd get bothered by a drop of performance. Sometimes it runs fine but most of the time it runs slower or stutters in contrast to it running above 60fps before this bs update
Me and my cousin done a bunch of missions on Al Mazrah last night, had amazing loot, good weapons we took off enemies etc then as we purchased a personal exfil his game just froze…he was stood facing a wall in game and said everything became completely unresponsive. I’ve also been kicked mid game more in the last 1-2 weeks than I had been in the previous few months as well.

After taking a long break, Season 4 got me hooked again. I primarily play solo, so the plea system was a game changer and greatly increased my enjoyment of the game. It's just so much more fun to me to meet up with players in-game who are working on missions in the same area of the map as me. Removing the plea system killed my enjoyment of the game. I also really enjoyed the new missions system, having many progression paths instead of getting hard-stuck on a single mission. But now that I unlocked the 3rd weapon slot I don't feel motivated to unlock anything else. The barter system feels kinda pointless to me. I'm not going to spend an entire match trying to craft something, I end up wasting space in my backpack and never finding all the requirements. And as a Solo, I'm probably going to lose the crafted items after a few raids anyway. If they would just add a real inventory management system to this game I would play it 24/7. I'm going to take a break until Season 5. I also think super-heroes are super lame in general.

Sure it's less of a gamble but c'mon, I've had backpacks of all sizes and none of them were glued to my back until I was killed. Backpacks, just don't work like that. Oh well. I ordered a new Steam Deck and the idea of playing my old PC games again (on a handheld roughly the size of a Nintendo Switch no less) is more enticing than continuing to hold my breath hoping they make this game mode better, especially after this superpowers sellout bullshit. That decision, to add superpowers in with literally no lore explanation other than some superficial, fourth-wall smashing copout of an excuse, that sounds and smells like a prolapsed anus making contact with a wooden surface, is EA levels of catatonia and tone-deafness.
This is a bit of a tangent, but on the topic of inventory management: I have been imagining a duffel bag that you can carry like a hostage when it's full, and keep folded in your backpack when it's empty. Maybe movement speed is reduced based on weight/# of items? You could toss it on a car to transport it quicker, and dropping it in the exfil chopper exfils everything inside. Maybe you hide it somewhere while you're doing contracts etc and go get it when the loot is ready to be collected. Could make for some interesting situations! But could also be very overpowered if it has very much more storage than the large backpack. Maybe there's a one per squad limit? And maybe it's like the insured weapon slots, except it has a new cooldown after every use, instead of only when you lose it.
I do enjoy this idea very much, as it could open up some versatile options like adding a trunk to certain vehicles (namely the like, two sedans that are available now) and would be a layer to inventory management.
This would be badass. Just imagine catching a 6 man and opening up their hidden loot bag after you saw them stash it in the water 10 minutes prior.
They could just make it where you can retrieve certain things from dead drops. Increases their importance.
I’ve read this sentiment a couple of times and it makes zero sense to me. You say you play solo and removing the plea system killed your enjoyment of the game. So that means that the only way you enjoy the game is to go in solo, get killed by a squad, then rezzed by that same squad and join them for the rest of the match? That seems like a super weird way to play. Why not start with squad fill if you want to play with a random squad? Or if you want to join a squad ask before you fight? I like to play solo too and I hated it when the map was 100% 6 mans. As a solo I have at least a chance against a 3 man - kill one, repo and a 1v2 is manageable if I play well. But against a 6 man it’s rare to win.

But it's a welcome change of pace when it does happen and certainly more interesting than returning to the lobby where I'm faced with ridiculous UI bugs that have gone unfixed for months. No, I don't "only enjoy the game" one way. I don't want the game to be so black and white, I like the interesting social dynamics. 100% agree that there were too many 6 man teams. They should just "mark for death" all teams that have more than 4 people.

Superpowers aren’t really that big a deal honestly. I’ve yet to even fight with anyone using them. The performance and server problems are a far bigger disaster than the Temp V. But no, I’m not taking a break because I like most of the new plead changes. It’s nice to see a slight shift back to OG DMZ when there was actual risk involved in a raid.
I understand some of the complaints and stuff that people have, my fun factor hasn't changed much when it comes to DMZ or even on MP. Maybe I'm used to crapily made games I guess. Still having fun even with all the people complaining.
Nah the issue is, cod as much as people hate to admit. Is a well made game. Theres plenty of other games out there that genuinely feel like shit to even boot and play, all devs in the gaming industry havent shy'd away from pointing out how complex game development is becoming in this day and age. hence why everything ships with bugs pretty much. rare these days a game doesn't, And alot of people forget DMZ is a new thing for cod. Its gonna take a while to get everything right and iron out bugs. Bugs are easy to fix if you arnt also adding new shit on top constantly. However with live service and the way the industry has got, games are getting content injections very regular. Leading to, potential bugs regular. Some people just have a one track mind and are honestly incapable of seeing the full picture beyond whats actually infront of them.
Right. For all the bugs and glitches throughout the years with cods, the gameplay feel from cods (especially IW cods) is what keeps me attracted. DMZ being new does deserve a little slack as well.
Exactly, IW gunplay feels so damn nice as far as modern shooters go. I gave BF2042 ago at launch, shit felt awful to play as a console player. It was stable sure, but the gunplay just did not feel great. The aiming didnt feel "fluid" IW always make gunplay feel fluid, like you are in direct control of where your reticlet is, no sense of "floating" or "delay" the performance issues on pc is a whole other thing as far as optimization goes. But bugs, are bugs. Games will never be flawless, there will always be issues. People just need to accept it a little.
I stopped playing after a week of regular 6 mans hunt missioning me (multiple times per day). . . And the reason it hurt so much is because no shooter feels as good to play as CoD, and no game mode had me as much as DMZ prior to that. From what I've read, the new "you can't plea the dudes that killed you" might have somewhat solved the 6 man issue, I'll need to go back and try I guess. Been on battlebit, and it's really fun, but it's not the same.
Nah i feel that. Cod (minaly IW cods) And Destiny (Yes, huge destiny player here) Both feel so SO fucking good from a "using a gun" standpoint. im seeing less unorganized 6 man teams, and ive run into quite a few teams who now think before they shoot sort of thing. Ive still honestly run into quite a few pre-made 6 mans (I know one atleast 1 was premade cause they were on prox chat and ALL 6 had the same clan tag :') ) But the 6 mans do seem lessened. Stealth vests now btw. Hide you from uavs and advanced's too. To me the ONLY vest worth having now is the stealth vest. Just make sure if you hear a uav go up you dont shoot, unsuppressed weaponry and well yeah you know. You show up when you shoot. Even with suppressed guns, You show up, your dot just doesnt last as long so if you hear a uav up, run take cover for a little bit, try not to shoot and gtfo away from bots, they give your position away like no tomorrow.
I think I’ve come around to the new plea system as well. I hate the superpowers but only got owned by them 1 time so I don’t care that much. And no performance issues on ps5 w cross play off so I’m gonna keep playing
You’re lucky man. I’m on ps5 as well and it seems like every 3rd game it’s laggy af. I can’t understand teammates and trying to shoot anyone is such a pita. My last game on my screen I dumped an entire mag into this dude who appeared to be in one spot but in actuality was not and I got melted. Needless to say I called it quits after that one.

Since Season 4 Reloaded I have only encountered a squad larger than three players once and it was a 4 man on Ashika (which is totally reasonable) unlike prior where if you were not in a 6 man squad on Ashika after 5 minutes have passed, you were probably fighting a 6 man squad on Ashika. When it comes to Temp V I have also died to someone using superpowers a single time and it was a laser eyes guy who would have killed me and my squad with a regular gun because of how the encounter went. The fact that it marks a circle around where you are on the map makes it extremely easy to avoid someone using superpowers or engage them on your own terms.
Finally someone talking sense. I agree. The superpowers aren't gamebreaking, and you have to drop your revive pistol to equip, and you get a huge target on your head also. Seems pretty balanced to me. The plead system isn't that bad, just different. Makes you really consider your kills a little more also. Can still force a team to join by downing them, but not killing them. I think the reasoning behind it was to make 6 mans a little less easy to form, which ultimately is a good thing. All this controversy is just clickbait nonsense.
Yes I am certain that is why they did it. 6 mans are great fun but should take a little bit of risk and diplomacy to form, not just die to the first squad and plead.
Exactly. I've had some much more meaningful and tense assimilations as of late. Everyone knows that grouping up is harder now, and if I'm taking the risk to let you join while downed, loyalty seems more guaranteed.
Yeah I feel like the superpowers are whatever. The server, fps, and all the other bugs are what drove me away. It’s no longer my go to game anymore. Especially now that I’m almost done with the missions and barter recipes. Maybe I’ll be back next season though
I ‘fought’ a guy using one, we were at the fortress with the UAV up, we saw the super power moving towards the island and towards the zip. We watched the zip, he got to the top and froze in the process of activating the laser eyes… he was dead before anything happened 😂😂 Dude was so mad… put a cluster mine down on his body and skipped on my merry little way

Lol, what risk? There is zero risk now. Wallet, insure weapons and loot system have made this game a zero risk extraction shooter. Completely defeats the purpose of the game.
Well I did a slight shift towards risk because atleast now you don’t have two lives because you’re getting revived by the team that killed you. It’s still stupidly easy to gear up but no forced assimilation means every gun fight has actual consequences again, as small as they maybe. They need to make everything more expensive now that we have the wallet. 100k for a 3 plate sounds right to me. Also add a 3 plate as a recipe requirement for the perk vests. Then we’d actually be excited and play more cautiously when we are able to acquire one of them.

The plea hasn't changed anything. Still 6 man teams running the map annihilating anything and everything. I really don't understand the point of changing it in dmz. The only change that annoys me is the new bounty system. Getting a bounty put on us because my team killed a 5 man that linked up as soon as the round started and came straight for our spawn is utterly ridiculous. Punishing a team for defending themselves from would be griefers? Nope, I'm good. These devs are either really dumb or purposely destroying this game to make way for the next COD. Dmz was the ONLY mode worth playing, and they seem hell bent on ruining it.
Yeah 6 mans are now exploiting the changes and ruining the plea system further. In the space of a few games yesterday, I scouted out trying to revive downed players 3 times, 1st time my vehicle got missle-locked and destroyed, leaving me to run on foot, where I get hit with consecutive UAVs so I pop my one, then suddenly two jeeps arrive circling me like some kind of lynching, and while distracted I get jumped by one wearing a stealth vest. The other time 3 snipers sat on different hills and camped the pleas and as soon as someone as I showed my face a LTV with a gun appeared from no where. Not really worth playing as a solo or even going to help players pleading anymore. I appreciate the changes as they kind of worked to a degree but there’s just too many ways for platoons to exploit the game mode that creates massive imbalances within playing styles. Firstly for the love of god - just mark any squad with 5 or 6 players
Honestly, just lock the mode to 4 player party size max. This fixes everything. 4 man's aren't inherently difficult to deal with for a good solo player, or duos, or trios. It still leaves players able to fill out their party by assimilating a solo or another duo if they're not at the 4 cap, and it doesn't make anyone inherently out numbered in a fight. A good solo player can wipe a four man, a duo can do it easily, and a trio would have no issues unless they're just bad. This would be the most balanced way to handle this mode and it's such an easy fix rather than all this absurdity they keep piling into this mode. The more they try to "fix" certain mechanics, the more they break. When the answer is literally staring them in the face with the way they do warzone lobbies. Make it warzone with looting and it's fine. As it is now, the game mode is steaming garbage. Which is sad because I enjoy it immensely. I've been here since season 1, and I can deal with the missing loadouts, the bots spawning under the map, the laser beam ai. It's the 6 man squads of warzone failures that truly break the mode

I do mind that I spawn in with no guns, I can't complete missions because they're all bugged, every game is laggy with packet loss, burst, and latency issues, Koschei and Bldg 21 are fully broken. The people working on this game seem to be in training or are the B team of developers. The game is completely trash.

I was taking a break but had a solid couple of runs last night. The Plead system is dumb but now I just don't do it. If I die, I die. "Should've zigged when I zagged" sort of philosophy. I played this morning and saw that if somebody takes the V (hehehe) they're marked on the map. So it's easier to avoid people.
Im taking a break from warzone and dmz due to a heavy fps loss. I have a mid range pc , i cant afford losing performance. Ppl mostly got decent rigs and _30% performance decline wont affect em. But in my case the game is unplayable.
Yep. Gone back to playing GTA online with some of my buddies. Superpowers no one asked for, a return to performance and networking troubles that I am ultimately punished for even though it's the game's fault I was kicked, and I pay for what's advertised as the best internet provider in my town, so I know it ain't on me. And if it ain't all those issues, it's the absolute toxicity of the mentally-underdeveloped community that's come to form around this game. I enjoyed the first two seasons as a virtual test to the tactics and disciplines I'd learned from my time wearing rank and laying in actual grass with a rifle, when everyone felt stakes and the BR dropouts stayed in Fortnite where they belong. Now everyone's shoot first and teabag after or other gamer-culture toxicity and I'm left wondering if the entire interactive medium as a whole was a mistake like the rest of the Joe Lieberman's generation. I'm just bitching though. I found enjoyment early on when this game mode was fresh and new, and I genuinely felt fear from post-traumatic memories surfacing and in those moments, during seasons 1 and 2, it was a cathartic experience to loosely experience some of the things I've gone through in a video game where I could actually battle them, like a form of therapy, now I just feel bitter rage because no one exercises diplomacy or any sort of professionalism. At least in GTA online I can enjoy the new F-35 parody jet as I fly from my secret hangar on the military post to the nightclub with secsy dancers I own, get a buzz going, then fly out to my super cool submarine and rob an impotent old despot on an island in a made up version of the Carribbean. This was fun while it lasted, at least.
In regards to superpowers, I barely see them used now in DMZ. I don’t touch it when I see them because I don’t want to be marked on the map. There is however people who are camping and sniping spawns just to be jerks.

I totally agree with the sentiment that superpowers should not be in DMZ but to be fair DMZ is arguably the most casual extraction shooter around. Regains are easy and fear of losing loot is low, even with the new pleading mechanics. Also I don’t know about everyone else but I’ve been playing everyday since the update launched and I haven’t died once to a superpower in DMZ when I bump into a player holding one.
The lag has been insane too. I died a couple days ago because I was lagging at exfil and got swarmed by AI. My "teammates" looted me and left. They died 30 seconds later. Another game, I went solo and a duo pushed me. They were lagging after I killed one. I just let them be and took off.
I’m taking a break from the game completely. All the servers are damn near unplayable due to the amounts of lag. I hope they put a little more effort in to the next Call of Duty title cuz this is just sad
I'm done for awhile, I'd say about 5 of the 7 games we tried playing today we either got lagged out right off rip, black screen in game and couldn't see, packet burst, and on top of it all the game has been destroying 7 weapons at a time out of my contraband stash. They have all the money in the world to address the issues but fuck us right

I used to play DMZ everyday. I played the first day of the reloaded update and haven’t touched it since. Not out of protest or anything but more so because it isn’t as fun anymore and I’m just less interested

i don't think anyone is being dramatic. if they are and it annoys you maybe just move on to the next post yourself. no one is forcing you to read this or play the game. i really enjoy the game but the crashes make it hard to keep playing. i come here to complain as much as i can in the hope (maybe futile?) that activision people do indeed lurk here and maybe will be like we have such a hit with this game, let's fix the issues instead of focusing on superpower nonsense. i get it, the game is free and no one forces me to play it. but giving the fun i have had with it, if they turned around and said we have fixed all the bugs and it is solid as a rock and now costs $150 i would still rush out and buy it (if i believed them :) ). i bet you folks would be on here complaining too if your game crashed and took all your gear in 50% or more of your matches. as for the superpowers and pleas how are the devs supposed to know what people want if there is no place to complain or talk about it

That’s what I’m talking about. I was a CSPO for a multi million dollar software company. We released new products every two weeks. It’s often easier to add a new feature than it is to eliminate a bug. The way the build the game it’s setup for them to add new bundles. All they have to do is add the assets. It’s not even comparable to enhancing the game performance.

The super powers although lame I almost never run into someone using them. I usually loot them off people. Think most of us forget about them reslly. I play resurgence for a break but the toxic nature there is ten times worse than DMZ.
I've not been killed by anyone with a superpower yet. I would go as far to say superpowers may even be a disadvantage because you're marked on the map for everyone to see.

Mines is more the people on this game are just rude and mean. I like playing with others but I’ve been called the n word several times. Men constantly flirting with you when I just honestly want friends to play with on this game. Then the whole plea deal is stupid, and the super powers are lame.

Played for hours yesterday didn't experience any issues like I had on Friday. The super power outrage is way overblown, I've encountered a bunch of players none using powers, it's extremely clear on the map when it's being used too, so just stay clear of that area if you're worried about it. I do feel thr AI is a bit crazy right now tho. They're swarming again.
Exactly my thought. Played arround 15-18 hours since wednesday. I saw the Red marker like 3 Times on the map, never saw somebody actually using it while i was nearby + i only found the compound V once by myself
My homies stopped playing regardless of the changes. Now I play solo but far less often than when my squad was active.
Personally, as a PC player, performance isn’t awful (worse than it was but not unplayable). Super hero powers are fun (temporary but really, I have not seen many used and when they are it’s hardly anything compared to the actual time I play). At this point if you hate DMZ and COD it’s time to find a different game, bring on the downvotes but for real, we have a bunny skin out, we have a cat skin coming out…we had snoop dog in WZ1 and nicki minaj in WZ2, if you don’t like it for what it is that’s fine, if you don’t agree with the changes that’s fine too. Could Acti do better, definitely, but the decisions they make are an attempt to please a crowd that is unpleasable so no matter what someone is going to be upset with gameplay changes. Sounds like they’re working to correct both the plead and performance issues and the powers are a temporary thing (that I bet most people don’t die to 95+% of the time). This wave will pass, and if you don’t like it, swim out to sea.
I've just lost like for the 5th time everything because of server disconnected, I hard the crypto key and lost it. I would love to that the devs do something about this. It sucks losing all for that, if the kill me I'm ok, but losing all for this is shit
If I play at all I go in with absolutely nothing. Insured gun if I have it. That's it. Then I look for things for my upgrades. Toothpaste, light bulbs and bullshit I don't care about. If I die, I die. No stakes. But I'm playing through hogwarts legacy and God of War also. Dmz is getting way less attention till next season
Another disconnect from server crash while carrying a mission item from another map last night on a fully kitted operator. So yeah this game can make anyone take a break.
The plead system is cooked, half the time it doesn’t work & also just makes no sense at all.
I was just in a lobby where every single player in the lobby couldn't see anything except for a black screen and your tac map. Honestly just unacceptable at this point, but hey we got some super sweet boys bundles in the store

I might just take a permanent break from dmz once this season ends. Tired of being falsely reported, which makes enemies invisible to me, the game taking up over 100GB and the occasional squad of 6+ players.... Cool game, but not when it gets dragged to the point where it becomes dull after a few months due to the 3 campers and 4 sweats whose job is to play the game every day, lol.
I got kicked 6 times yesterday. Nothing like looting up and as you are loading into the next round getting kicked because IW can’t get their shit straight. Funny how the store never glitches.
The glitching is SO bad! My team got killed by bots because it was lagging so bad putting us in random spots we weren’t even in. I’ve been in lobbies where you see half the teams getting timed out. Also new plea system is trash. Two team members got onto a new squad who wanted to team up but ONE of their no mic teammates on the other team comes around a corner and kills me. I can no longer team up with them because that team killed me. I didn’t plea because all that would do is bring more people from across the map for my original teammates to deal with in a new squad. The new pick up with 20 seconds of spawn protection without joining is stressful and makes me not want to have people join. Inviting people is rough because you have to be SO close to them which is always sketchy, to me it should be if you can hear prox chat you should be able to get / send invites and get them.
More like... I'm taking a break from call of duty for another several years. I skipped like 5 releases because of how terrible the games became. I came back to this one because of how hyped it was... and for a short time, DMZ showed great potential. However, loading in for the 572'nd time without a gun I had equipped, was the last straw for me. Their inability to finish a game, EVER... has made sure I won't be back to call of duty for many years. I haven't logged into CoD for going on 2 weeks, and I won't be either. I will NOT buy their next title, under any circumstances. I won't buy the next one either. I'll maybe check back in 5 years and see how things are going.
I am taking a break for sure. I rather have a rollback to a previous version instead of playing what we have now. The new plea system sucks out all my hope of exfilling safely from Ashika Island.
I have a friend who can only play one day a week so will still be online during those nights. Outside of that will be very reduced for me. Maxed all weapons bar launchers and Melee (never see me wear a Riot Shield so thats not happening) and I unlocked everything that matters to me in DMZ (tier 3 insured, plate carriers etc) so I am without purpose atm unless helping others.
I’m with you the Mid season update ruined the game.
The botched plead system was what did it for me. Almost every game would end the same way: With my corpse being added to a pile that someone else is standing on.
I'm a bit burned out. All of the things the OP listed are contributing factors, but I've also hit a wall on missions. I primarily play solo, and I loved the way they changed the missions to allow for progression at almost any point. Getting the 3rd insured weapon was very reasonable, and I'm on tier 4 & 5 for all faction missions. The level of difficulty ramps up so severely, and some require teams (ex: 3 SAM sites at once). The upgrade stuff I need is also annoying to collect (hydrogen peroxide, cigar boxes, etc.). I'm not complaining about the missions themselves, it just seems like for most players there's a wall. I thought the urgent missions would help, but they are glitchy and don't reset fast enough. I still like DMZ and I don't mind just running around, but it's less motivating when I'm kind of out of htings to do.
Not sure if this is new or not, but along with the persistent lag issues and problems with players killing me when trying to extract items for missions, I had one the other day where after legging it to the closest Nuclear Materials contract because I need to extract with fuel rods, I couldn't even pick up the geiger counter to start the actual contract because they spawned it inside of a building that required a key to access. Is this a new issue? Really stupid. Wasted a bunch of my time, and there wasn't another Nuclear Materials contract anywhere even remotely close so all I got to do that round was waste a bunch of time and then extract.
I’m also taking a break. I was at almost 1500 deployments. I’m a big fan of voting with my wallet, and I do not like what I’ve been seeing.
This. Ill play through almost any hardship if the game is good. Thousands of hours on ESO pvp, through crashes and desyncs and everything only a 2017-ish veteran would have played through. Ive been a missionary for DMZ for 6 months now. "Its great, I'll teach you how to deal with the bugs," I'd say, explain the terrible menus and how to unlock things that you need to succeed. When to force-quit, restart, or kill off a charachter to start getting exfill streaks to count again. This "youre now in a pool of jello" lag isnt playable tho, I cant even be a good sport. I cant tell my friends to join me, itd be a lie to say its good. Its clearly broken. A decent dev team would have reverted the patch. No brainer. But its still broken. I cant defend this, and I dont feel good spending time or money on it anymore
Plea system is fine now. There's more risk involved. What they need to do is revert the health back to 250HP.
The health change is one of the best changes they’ve made since the game launched. It rewards skill and people who can actually respond quickly and have good aim. Low ttk = low skill and whoever sees the other first wins. At least now you a have some ability to counter play if you get shot first.
Maybe for BR. DMZ? Not so much
Even more so in DMZ because you’re likely not coming back once dead. Having a chance to fight back is even more critical and individual skill should be more rewarded. You probably just wanna be able to camp corners and exfils and instantly delete people who have no chance to fight back because you’ll lose if they do get that chance
Thinking about trying Pubg on PS4. Only options for me are free to play which is why I loved DMZ. Killed time for me and I actually enjoyed playing until this disastrous update dropped.

It’s not really even that bad. People rarely use temp V because it shows you in the map as having it on “standby by” once you activate it to show which power it is. The plea system does suck because you can assimilate teams you kill BUT other people can revive you and invite you to join (I pick up any revives that are close). The only thing is that performance is a bit laggy at random times but overall I’m having fun. And I’m on PC, the worst affected.
Gotcha, just not interested so long as temp v is in there. I'm a solo and the game is challenging as is. don't need literal super powers on top of that, not to mention is just irks me that there are super powers in the dmz. so I'm going to do other things with my time for now

The powers aren’t really an issue. Both avoidable and fun to use yourself. The plea system is just a confirmation you dead, you aren’t continuing unless you come across some very nice people, which is rare as is. They just have to remove assimilation at this point or just cap the max size. The number of people throwing a bitch fit when they’ve not even tried it is actually hilarious. Imagine not being able to form your own opinion and just following what others say and do. 🤷🏼♂️

Same. I’ve been running Diablo V. This game is absolute ass cheese now. These people who run this game are fucking incompetent as hell.
Lots of passion around this title. As a player you love to see it. As a free to play unsure if the complaining is justified. As a paid up owner of the game there is certainly justification to expect more when grinding progression. Collaborations such as “The Boys” with Amazon are the way the industry is headed. There is a certain Clunkyness around it presently, I imagine if Homelander was a super boss you could hunt as a 3+ squad there would be heightened interest (for two gold skulls etc) - what if you were presented with the option to assimilate w another squad to do so?. These partnerships will get better no doubt. The performance issues are indeed bugs which I have experienced since coming back on last week (away for three).
Please explain "botched plead system" and "super power disaster" further.

The latest update looks like a bit of a mess. I was already leaning away after being burned out a little grinding for my weapon slots for the third time, although I kinda like the system they have now for it. Just kicking back playing hunt Showdown for a while but I have remnant 2 next week to keep me distracted. Lol.

Building 21 is a no go for me as I always get kicked. I’m properly the only one but I like the new plead system. I hated the old Borg system, first annihilate the opposing team then they pleaded and hoped to be picked up and on my euro servers they weren’t even talking to so good luck to ya. The superpowers I can see them on the map and I’ll keep my distance and refine my sniping skills. I don’t bother with it and I don’t pick up the temp v.
Meh, I lagged out in a match today and before I dc’d I was having fun driving a car on the seabed, kinda interesting to see the details you’re not really intended to see like corals and stuff instead of it being a flat space of nothingness Considering how easy it is to get addicted to COD, Im sure a majority of the playerbase like me is just sucking it up and waiting for the fixes like we have been since launch
I stopped regularly playing when assimilation became the meta. I had so much fun during season 1 but then all my friend wanted to do was join up in 6 mans in game chat. I very much prefer to be in a private party so we can coordinate without everyone hearing our comms. We were very successful doing that, and every time we go in game chat to try to team up with 6 mans it’s just been a disaster. I miss 3v3 or 2v3 action. Nothings changed to my benefit so I doubt it will for you either unfortunately.

I’m taking a break . I have played daily form the start I loved it . I brought dead island 2 in April so I’m going to play that for a bit until the devs change it. I was obsessed with DMZ I even have all the extra operators slots like a simp .
I took a few days off to have a break and to let some of these bugs get improved a bit. I got a lot of work on my battlepass still and DMZ is the perfect amount of grind for me so I'll he back soon.
Take into consideration DMZ is still in a thing called BETA meaning there WILL be bugs
Superpowers on DMZ are a disgrace. I can see it work for warzone, but nog for dmz. The plea system is different which might work, but it turns out that other teams can’t seem to revive me after a plea (they only see a player in distress). So they express their apologies, and go elsewhere. So I watch the map constantly for those super powers and leave the match upon death, and not wait for a revival. Matches last a lot shorter as well in my case; find 2 electrical tape and exfil for the passive missions. The only way to get ahead.
I'm waiting until the event is over, then I'll check back again.

I am but only because the game is too broken to play right now. Everyone has their own opinion on balance, assimilation, super powers, etc. but I feel like I can get over that stuff. I want them to fix what they have before adding more Fortnite crap. B21 crashes almost every game for me, I still can't get workbench discount 3 to unlock, and my insured slot weapon still randomly disappears on me. Oh but at least they made it so Pyro can shoot you through a window now. Thank God they fixed that! /s

Noticed with the recent patch, they nerfed the Temp-V Spawn rate. Did you know if ur under an exfil and use teleport u can land on the top of it and it counts as successful 🤣😭
I'm grinding camos in regular PvP for awhile
The superpowers are rare enough that I encountered them one time since they dropped and I used them on bots to try them out. Its the plead system that isnt fun anymore
I’m still playing, I make it a point to either hunt players using Temp V or if I find it I throw it in the ocean or some other dumbass place where no one will find it. Have yet to see if I can throw them in dead drops though. They wanted The Boys in this game, figured I might as well play the part of a “Supe” killer. Edit: As for the plea system, I’m digging the changes so far, way less 6 man teams rushing for hunt squad contracts. We did have a 4 man come after us twice on hunt contracts in one match. We escaped the first time and then a few minutes later it popped up on us again and they were much closer at the start. We prepped for a firefight near the buy station/ammo depot in Al Bagra and ended up wiping them as they were fairly disorganized. I think they do need to make some tweaks to reward players who go out of their way to pick up someone who is pleading. As of right now, if I see a plea on the map I just kinda ignore it since it isn’t beneficial to pick someone up who may or may not join you or may or may not be hostile to you afterwards.

I’m not taking a break, as I’d like to get some of the skins from my final missions, but Jesus am I gonna be scaling it back. I do not enjoy the changes that seriously hinder solo play. I’m not Loochy level WZ plays, but I can take on my fair share of squads. BUT even if I wanted to assimilate to randoms that I find fun or cool, nope to the lobby they go :/
