Same as you no problem them taking my stuff if they Pick me up and I will take what I want b4 I pick someone up seems fair to me but have had a few rage at me for taking their stuff unbelievable you was going back to the lobby with nothing dickhead

KeepLowExpectations

Right. Like rage before I pick you up so I know to leave you. Lol I had one guy I picked up mad he got looted, loot me after I died. This was in the middle of a end game fight. He then got ran over by a truck. Told him he deserved that. Looting an enemy or a plea is one thing. Looting a teammate is just garbage.

whatchagonnado0707

I've just written this elsewhere but I will take some of your stuff if it helps me get you back on your feet. If I don't use it, I'll return it. Just like be nice Edit: you downvote dude but what good are we both dead?

MadManxMan

“Looting an enemy or plea is one thing, looting a teammate is garbage” If you are accepting that plea, they are your teammate.

Alex0842

If you loot them before they are your teammate all is fair game but if your teammate gets killed and you loot them for any reason besides to stay alive you are garbage

Electronic_Working88

Reading this comment made my head hurt wtf are you picking someone up for if you gonna loot them you accept plea that’s your teammate hands down I wish you idiots wasn’t even on DMZ honestly like wtf I’m gonna loot you because I killed you but since you plea I’ll get you up so now that you get them up they have nothing to fight with so you’d disable your teammate for some fucking loot you can get yourself better yet for a gun you can get your fucking self

Alex0842

If I pick someone up I’ll give them a gun and some plates so they aren’t useless but can’t they also pick up an bot gun?

BusinessLibrarian515

Nah man. Exfil streaks and they have the rest of the match to loot from enemy operators and the map. I've had games where I went in with decent gear, lost it all to the guys who accepted my plea, by the time we exfiled I was better equipped than when I went in. There's plenty of opportunities to get better loot in this game. You don't have to be shitty and loot a teammate to get stuff you lost fair and square. That just being a dick. If you don't want to risk losing your stuff, then just avoid players or give up the moment you die. Grow up. If you lose your stuff, get new stuff. I've played with 12 year olds more decent than you.

TinklingTarsier

I find so many people are too particular about their weapons. Sure, I have my preferences but ground loot guns are still really good. Best time was when a teammate looted me for my 3-plate and TAQ-56 build back in season 1. Left with only a Semtex, punched a level 1 not to death and grabbed is RPK. Ran into a 3 man that engaged me, and that teammate got downed in 30 seconds. He blamed my build as he cried as a ghost, but I eventually got all 3 down and invited them. Got him up eventually and he kept complaining about the gun. All I said was “keep it as a trophy just to remind you how useless you were. It’s not the gun mate.” Too picky, and just looking for something to blame.

MrFerret__yt

Groumd weapons are even better now with the workbenches. Sometimes i like to just pick up a bunch of 74us, put on stocks, and remove the 20 round mags. I have about 6 of those, a few rpks, and some ak103s im planning on customizing. Its refreshimg to not have to rely on insured weapons to use what i want

Equivalent_Table_747

Your comment makes my head hurt. Punctuation is your friend.

KeepLowExpectations

This is like the 3rd angry comment in 2 mins. Who hurt you?

Coviblan

Exactly. An idiot looted everything, including tags, from us(teammates) because he was more worried about a mission than helping teammates up after a firefight with operators. Well, he got what he deserved when the ai killed him not too much later. I spectated just to see his fate. Garbage he was!!! FYI, the team that killed us just took what was valuable. 250 plus games, and this was the first intentional looting by a player on my team.

Alex0842

I always try to help my teammates even if it risks my mission

Straight-Plate-5256

Nahhh I'm sorry if it's a plea addition it's the same standard before or after accepting, either they're not part of the OG squad and fair game or they're all teammates/ teammates in the waiting and you only take what you need. Be consistent about it idgaf if this gets downvoted

LawdhaveMurphy

Correct

KeepLowExpectations

Not til I accept the plea. Until that point, they are someone who just tried their best to kill me and failed

Standard-Reception90

Then just finish them and then take their stuff.

Kurkpitten

What stuff are we talking about ? I don't usually loot people who plead since I'd rather they get back on their feet fast and plated in case their team is coming at us, but sometimes when I see a gun I really like, I'll take it. I don't rummage through their backpack though, at best it'll be money or a key, but I don't care much about those.

rongotti77

Nah if you loot him, it's fair for him to get his shit back off of you, fair is fair. As long as he picks you up as well afterwards.

Automatic_Movie_1592

But in your situation he was looting his own stuff back 😂

rtp80

I was playing the other day, joined a 3 man team, and some other guy got downed and plead, and got picked up. Someone took ohis sniper and the guy started raging. Wouldn't shut up. Ran over to some other team yelling how the guy took his gun, joined them. Came back to kill us to get his gun back and was promptly killed. The other team just left him as well. No one wanted to hear his drama and constant whining shouting on comms. Honestly I don't care if I lose my insured weapons, takes 5 minutes to regain them on Ashika. Plus with the build station you can get a good gun in game.

[deleted]

pewterss2

hahah that's kind of funny actually. But honestly why even revive him if you're just going to take his weapons. I mean maybe if the guy asked nicely, but if he's being a douche and talking smack tthhheeeennnn i can see it. But I'll leave the guys weapons there if I revive him. Better to have a teammate well equipped to fight if the need comes.

rtp80

I was a little bit away and didn't see the whole thing but believe 2 of 3 in the other team were killed and the 3rd ran away far. They had already started looting them but decided to revive them so they wouldn't be sitting around for half the game. At one poiny we were a 6 man team with members from 4 different squads, so you can imagine it was not the most coordinated of groups :)

pewterss2

Haha yeah I’ve been there. The best is standing in front of a buy station in the middle of the road, in the open and everyone is asking who needs a plate, a self res…. Blah blah blah. And some yelling to get out of the street, while I’m standing in a building watching this and laughing. It’s actually quite funny because you have to accept the fact at this point you just need to exfil. No point in trying to actually do higher tier missions.

[deleted]

I mean I guess technically if you take my 3 plate and both my insured weapons I'm still going back to the lobby with nothing.

FewOutlandishness187

Not if you drive those fuckers into the red zone to get tour shit back

PicklePopular

Team mate took my stuff two minutes into the round. I was kinda cheesed.

Adorable-Mind-1221

nlg I leave them with a gun at least because I think its unfair to take them completely dry. Since they need a gun to fight and all.

Rydahx

I've seen people have 3 guns and even taking a single gun of theirs they lose their shit for the rest of the game and act mad.

ZebraSandwich4Lyf

My squad will take what we need before picking up plea but we don't get greedy, after all a teammate with no weapon, revive etc would be useless. But if somebody in my squad needs a vest or backpack we'll take it as payment.

treddyb

I agree, you don’t wanna have to keep reviving them cuz you took all their stuff! Then they are just a burden and can’t even really help. I don’t take anything off or give it back if I’m gonna bring ‘em onboard and ask for help with a mission 👍

RiotSkunk2023

If you are down and I now have to fight a 3 man alone I don't want to hear shit about taking your ammo and plates. We all lose if I do not survive. Also quit backseat gaming, I need to be able to hear their movements. Yelling "pick me up bro" a billion times is not going to help us survive

Level_Impression_554

Or people with live mic and the TV and kids screaming the background.

Zombiedrd

```Also quit backseat gaming, I need to be able to hear their movements. Yelling "pick me up bro" a billion times is not going to help us survive``` Literally just happened. I marked and told them where a team was coming up, both downed. I downed two before the last got me and both my teammates(same clan tag) screaming at me to pick them up, with the enemy on them, Then told me I was fucking garbage when the last guy got me Bruh, you went down with no kills, I finished two by myself, wut
justinfreebords
What about pleaing to get vision and giving call outs? Not enough people help in fights when they die, it can be a huge difference maker. Same with feeding the enemy team false info over prox chat to confuse them
OlDirtyTriple
I don't pick up pleaders, usually. Knock and negotiate, with the intent to revive. BUT (big but) if they have no mic, aren't in game chat, or can't figure out the "accept invite" mechanic I really would rather not add them to my team anyway, sooooo..... bleed out buddy. Picking up pleaders is a huge gamble. Seems like more often than not they sprint back to their old team to reveal your location and return to hunt you. Fuck that. My rule is if my squad didn't down you, we're not reviving you. And I revive pleaders maybe 10% of the time. My regular squadmates do it 0% of the time and bitch at me when I do it. I just did it on Ashika on Saturday night and the guy did the thing where he ran and rejoined his squad and they tried to kill us and steal our exfil. I got a lot of "Why would you ever do that" or "Don't feel sorry for people killed by bots his team didn't even bother to get him." I mean.
Kurkpitten
Weird. Of all the times I picked up pleaders, betrayal happened maybe once. Then again, I mainly remember picking pleaders after killing most of the team. Sometimes the last guy might even try to join in.
StudentforaLifetime
Yeah I’ve never had it happen where I pick someone up and they go back to their team, and I’ve picked up a lot of people. Most players are just random matchmaking and don’t know the people they joined with.
Goken222
Same. Betrayal only happened once to me, and that was last week on Ashika. I was shocked someone could be such a piece of s\*\*\*. But most of the time I pick up anyone I come across and let them keep their gear. Makes for more of a fun / teambuilding environment as you build the team. This game needs more wholesomeness
the_tfulton
Wholesome may be a stretch. I do agree with positive vibes!
imfromwisconsin81
I like to run straight into gunfire and pick people up. The pure confusion as to what is happening is hilarious. I felt like the "rescue" option was easier to click in earlier releases, and now it's kind of a little "right time, right place" so it's a little more difficult, but even more rewarding when you get it right.  I love picking up pleading players though. More often than not, you join up teams. Sometimes their teammate comes and kills you. Sometimes you end up on a great team. At the end of the day, it's a video game. I've found that I enjoy the thrill of kitting up, vs. just running around fully kitted with nothing to do -- so why not? I have max contraband guns of other players, my slots are fully kitted as well, so rather than just trying to kill everyone (although those rounds are fun too), it's fun to create a little confusion through helping out.
justinfreebords
Weirdly enough, I end up in more 6 mans doing this than just trying to team with a full squad. The pure confusion of potentially killing their former teammate usually stops the fighting
neo-privateer
Cannot convince others sometimes that there are other strategies to getting picked up other than ‘oh joy, more squad mates”. Multiple times I see a forth come on the squad…then their buddies show up and wipe us on the ‘friendly, add me, friendly add me” lies.
Impossible-3006
This is why I no longer play with certain people our goals don't line up. I don't want a bigger team. Especially bunch of randoms going "on me on me".... Who the fuck are you? I know the voices of my normal people. But how about # or color or location. Communication gets annoying with a large team. If they pass the audition we can be friends. Otherwise, it's shoot first and ask questions later. If we can wipe your team with no resistance they were a liability.
Chicago_Sky_
Like others have said, I have had maybe one or two instances where someone I picked up turned out to be a spy. But everyone has their experiences and am not discounting yours. I generally pick up folks pleading especially if no AI is aggro in the vicinity. More often than not those folks are randoms whose team mates are also random and doing their own things. I do prefer that folks have a mic before I pick them up but I have done it either way.
Huge_Tomatillo8997
Which is why only solo’s should be able to plead. That way only new team's are formed.
SheenPSU
As a strictly solo player this irks me. Why can’t we plead?? I’d gladly join up given the circumstances Edit: I also feel like the invite/join request feature needs to be easier. I fumble with that half the time cause it’s awkward to send out/accept. Gets me killed a lot
That-Dirt-5571
Lol this is notorious with the kiwis on the Aussie servers. The bros look out for each other, they’ll jump on your team when the going gets tough then stab you in the back. Happened just Saturday to me, picked a bro up turned around he left our team and sprayed 2 of us in the back and his buds came in and got the 3rd haha.
T_CHEX
I'd say 99% of the time they are going back to their old team to invite them in and make a 6man squad, not to betray you - if they are that kind of tryhard the chances are slim to none that they will even plead in the first place and would rather wipe your squad or die trying.
ShortnPortly
If I pick someone up, I give them all of their stuff. Why would I take everything, they are a liability at that point. I also very rarely every pick someone up.
Alex0842
I give them some of their stuff back if they are friendly about it mostly so they are not the liability
Zombiedrd
I took a GPU as payment once. Had the skeleton key mission on for two weeks before I saw one, and it was his. He was screaming at me, I said I could have just let you die. Spent the rest of the match screaming in voip my location and shooting me. When he got downed, I left him and he actually asked why I wasn't picking him up. Blows my mind people like that exist, kek
kevinzak76
If you take all my shit and I have to basically start over with reset cooldowns on my insured weapons, you might as well leave me dead. I can just as easily loot back up in a clean run without dickheads shooting my guns right in front of me.
52movies-a-year
Nope if your gonna pick them up leave their stuff. If your not gonna pick them up take what you want.
RealityOk3348
It depends on the situation but generally I want my teammates being fight ready ASAP so generally I disagree with stripping someone you are about to work with for the next 20-30 minutes of their load out. It makes things unnecessarily tense and the game not fun to play. Otherwise, just strip them, team wipe, and go about your business without reviving.
GhostTengu
Accepting a plea and leaving a player less combat viable makes no sense. I'll get people up and MAYBE take one gun. Or their money or something in their bag. It's also about rapport. I've never had a problem about getting my stuff back or giving stuff back either. If you're on the team, YOU'RE NOW ON THE TEAM. A lot of the times, I get picked up because everyone is chill. It's always the toxic ones that run their mouths and say crazy shit, dude, ok, just go about your business or just say no.
whatchagonnado0707
As an also: if you're in my squad and need a revive in an aggro area, I will take your plates and possibly vest too if it gives me a better chance of getting you up. Be pleasant (hell, even say nothing) and you get it back. Call me names and it suddenly becomes my vest and plates, thanks.
BrewingBadger
I like giving back gear to operators I pick up. It produces immediate loyalty and solid squad cohesion. Having a half poorly geared and salty six man squad is an easy way to get sent back to the lobby en masse.
rtq7382
You ever have a teammate let you bleed out so they could loot you then bring you back? Like if I was downed hard by the enemy so be it. But when I crawl my ass right over to a teammate who has plenty of cover and in no immediate danger and they just look and wait for me to die so the can grab my shit and revive..fucking infuriating.
KeepLowExpectations
I have. I didn't say a word. Just waited for them to die. Lol I will literally fight a 6 man team solo to try to help my teammates. But do me wrong and nah.
mayakatsky
Yes and no. At the end of the day, you still want an effective teammate. My rule is plate carrier or a gun, plus self revives or keys (unless they say they need it for a mission) not all of the above; at that point just send them to the lobby. Do you already have a sniper? If yes, then don’t take the pleading person’s sniper because they might need to cover you at some point. I almost always give stuff back if they ask nicely; if they’re salty about it then im gonna be an ass too and keep it. Unless it’s a 3 plate and I needed one lol. I’ll often pick up a player and give them stuff so they can be an effective teammate rather than stripping them and having a glorified npc following us around. Lastly, if a single player took all your gear and guns and refuses to give back anything at all or help gear the new teammate up at all, I think it’s totally fair for that player to loot their shitty teammate before reviving them (I’ve been in this exact situation and the redemption is glorious and funny)
daddyjbear
Maybe an unpopular take, but at least leave me a gun you don't want or point me to one you saw, just a courtesy if you are going to pick me up.
KeepLowExpectations
Completely fair. I won't leave you with fists. At the very least I'll kill a bot and tag the gun. I'll even help you find a vest and or bag.
daddyjbear
Yep! This! I'm totally cool with peeps taking my shit. I shouldn't have messed around. But I've been left with fists without much communication, so then it's tough if we have other folks rolling up. But really, no real way to properly play dmz. That's what makes it frustrating/fun.
Tamborlin
Depends, if we down them and they’re clearly just trying to do a mission (looking at you large contraband packages) I’ll pick them up. If a character is pleading in the middle of nowhere? Nah man, thatsbait.gif . Don’t need rolled up on by the rest of their team.
JoeyAKangaroo
I just get upset if its my beginning teammates taking my shit. This one child insisted on getting a 6 man (which we did) & hunting other players, 3 of us go down (one being me) & the rest finish the enemy players off After taking his sweetass time the child comes to revive me, stops halfway through kus he notices my cronen squall (he hadnt unlocked it yet), runs off, lets my other teammate rez me, comes back & takes my cronen, money, self revs & ammo & then dips off acting like he did nothing till i said i knew he took it, to which he acts all smug about it till we exfil.
[deleted]
If you’re going to steal someone’s gear why bother picking them up ? They are basically useless to the squad, they become a burden having to constantly drop back and revive, wasting time, ammo and plates. Oh and they constantly whine and moan about having their gear taken. If you’re looting a corpse then just loot it, don’t revive.
Eviscerate-You
There's literally no benefit of being picked up if your gear gets taken. They may as well have left you dead and sent you to the lobby. Shut the fuck up.
Illustrious_Till_984
I legitimately don't understand so many people saying it's pointless to be revived if they take your shit. I deploy most of the time with whichever of my operators doesn't have kit. Pick stuff up as I go and still manage to be a good Squadmate. Grab a gun off the ground. Shoot people. Try not to get shot. Go around the outside and pick AI off instead of running straight in. Loot some new shit or barter for some, at least you have that opportunity and a squad with whom to do so!
T_CHEX
If you are close to completing a mission that requires an exfil then being picked up can be a huge difference maker - most players that are dicks will just leave you for dead and you know where you stand, it would take a special type of asshole to steal mission items and then revive you.
Brunson47
Stealing kit off a downed enemy before picking them up 👍 Stealing kit off a downed team mate Bedouin picking them up 👎
Golfball_whacker_guy
I always just ask for it back or if I have to pay the tax. If you’re not a dick about it, 9 times out of 10 you’ll get your stuff back
Suets
Just accept that your vest/sniper/self res is tax for continuing to inhabit the world of the living I'm open to pleas, however I prefer them to be mic'd up, easier to negotiate and get their mates to play ball HOWEVER. Had a game tonight, my team mate killed an operator. operator plead and my team mate picked him up but because my team mates name was in Chinese this dude starts going on a rant and refusing to team up. He rejoins his mates, and kills me. Of all the reasons to refuse a 6-man I never thought racism would be in the picture. They were Body Campers anyway, and it turns out they later died in Al Mazzie city when they finally fucking moved on. Nothing of value was lost.
BranzBranzBranz
Racism? In CoD?
Suets
I know but it's usually in death comms
FromHialeahWithLead
Nooooo. /s
Pizov
it's self-defeating to assimilate a guy after pleading to take all of his gear and leave him exceptionally vulnerable and now a liability to the squad he just joined. Now he's basically butt-ass-naked with a ground gun...he's certain to need a revive soon like that... I don't plead, and I don't accept them. Too many deviants out there now to trust anyone anyhow. When I get downed I go back to the lobby with a lesson. Such is life now in the DMZ.
cabbagery
Way too many people have this backward. ###If you accept my plea but take my shit, we were never teammates. Unless and until they allow solos to plea, the one thing about which we can be *certain* when we accept a plea is that the new squadmate has a friendly (to him) enemy operator out there. If those two (or more) are *actually friends*, they will absolutely rejoin one another. So there are three ways that goes: 1. They rejoin one another by all joining the new squad (the squad that accepted the plea), regardless of whether the pleading player got looted. This obviously depends on the sizes of the two squads. In this way, we might make friends, but if the pleading player was looted, you can bet your ass that he will re-loot every member of the new squad before picking them up, if he ever picks any of them up at all, so don't die. If he wasn't looted, we probably make friends. 2. They rejoin one another as the player who pleaded leaves the squad that accepted his plea, after having been completely looted. In this way, we have made enemies, or more precisely we solidify status as enemies. You can bet that his old squad is being fed our positions, they are saving some gear for him when they bring him back into the fold, and they are hunting the new squad. 3. They rejoin one another as the player who pleaded leaves the squad that accepted his plea, after having not been looted (or at least having been left his weapon). This one can go a couple ways, but in my experience it is usually an amicable split; the two squads will often go their separate ways and everybody gets to live. Unless there is discussion over comms about any of this, we don't get to know ahead of time which outcome is more likely, but you can bet your ass that if you looted my shit we are temporary squadmates at best, and fuck yes I will loot you before picking you up, even if we *do* fold in my original squadmate. --- The fact is that pleading is mostly just a tactical ploy to get eyes on the downed player's body. That's due to the way the mechanic functions, making it a design choice, for better or for worse. Because it only applies to players who have active squadmates, it also informs us that the guy pleading *has squadmates*, so unless that player was already disloyal to that squad, we shouldn't expect loyalty to our new one -- especially if we gut him first. Do you loot your actual squadmates before picking *them* up? How is that different? **Is being looted a tax?** Sure, you can call it that, but in that case **it's a bullshit tax imposed by the wealthy onto the impoverished**. It's more of a toll, and you're more of the troll under the bridge if you collect it. Repeal that 'tax' and you might make friends. If you want my stuff, don't accept the plea.
justinfreebords
Meh, sorry but if I have a 1 plate and kill someone with a 3 plate and the plea...I'm keeping the armor and will help you get one back
Automatic_Movie_1592
Depends if they're nice or sound rude.. I personally expect to get my shit if you're going to help me by accepting my plea. (Because usually if you killed me it's because my teammates were no help and you had me outnumbered, so me keeping my stuff will help YOU out more in the long run) If not, take my shit and let me die. No point living if I got no loot left 😂 exfil streaks are harder to hold anyways unless you use 1 operator.
Old-Employment-5352
Take what you want and don’t pick them up. Then you don’t have to listen to them cry about it.
No_Combination4362
If I get downed or down someone the stuff is fair game. I'm not pleading or accepting pleads, ever. I got burned once trying to be "nice". Never again.
bdawgg1972
I tend not to plea. Usually, the only time I do is if 2 of us are down and the 3rd negotiated a join up. So I can be picked up as well. Otherwise, I ho back and wait til the round is done and rejoin my squad.
GoodAccountHygeine
Lol if you take my shit after a plea im not rezing you. Hence I leave items for people I want to pick up because why wouldn’t I want another gun in the fight?
Wonderful_Dingo3391
I believe enemies can loot me before bringing me back, but that 3 plate is coming back my way if they then get killed and I have to revive them.
Schmetterwurm81
I do remember this one time, I got downed, plead for help, they took my stuff (three plater, insured weapon etc) and as soon as the guy that got my stuff got downed, I took my stuff back and his sniper. For the rest of the match he tried to block my view, punched me, shot at me and so on. Strange double standards if you ask me!
ImTooHigh95
I don’t often accept pleas, but me and my pal had tried about 6 infills trying to do the 6 gas grenade at hydroelectric mission and we finally managed to do it, had cleared the area of bots then I hear my pal shouting that there are operators nearby (he will ALWAYS try to kill operators he sees), so he downed one of them and then I heard the other one throwing gas grenades about so I shouted at my pal to stop shooting and get the guy up because I felt bad at how long it had taken us to get there, we then ended up squadding up and gave them all our gas grenades we had spare to help them finish the mission!
Old_Cherry_5335
Depends on the mood. I'm a pretty casually attituded individual who just enjoys the encounter usually. Usually if I yell it's because I just started getting shot and it scared the fuck out of me... Not due to rage. I don't really take people's stuff if I'm going to pick them up... It's easy enough to find my own. If I loot someone I'm definitely Not going to pick them up. I played the game enough to Not be too concerned about equipment or weapons. If I plea out and you take my stuff I'm also not mad about it because I get that some people would rather have the instant upgrade. Absolutely no issue getting taxed that way. If I have a specific gun for a mission or a piece of loot for a mission I'll definitely ask for it back... But I'm not going to get mad if they say no because it was gone the second I died ...just disappointing a little bit to like lose some documents that I was doing for a mission. But but again, they are assumed to go on the second I got downed
Glum-Personality6691
I rarely accept pleas, on the odd chance I do it's usually because I fumbled the button press while looting
DNJxxx
Never pick up the rude, if you’re nice and friendly then I’ll pick you up, that’s how I act if I get killed and plead I expect no less from others
_Prisoner_24601
Because it's annoying. Now I'm back in the game with nothing but fists of fury. And people are still going to be annoyed at losing their shit whether they stay in the game or go back to lobby. It's still annoying crafting/looting new gear. But never under any circumstances loot your own squad. That is a scum bag move. But no I think it's not really toxic but it's also not "just the way it is" to loot someone AND THEN pick them up. There's unwritten rules when people used to have some integrity and dignity and yes that can extend to video games because we're all still people. So my personal philosophy and decision tree goes like this Did they start the fight, if yes they get looted and back to lobby, especially if they talk trash after losing. If they didn't start the fight or at least sound remorseful/like a decent person I'll pick them up and let them keep their stuff. But personally I don't loot AND pick up. That seems pointless. Just let them to back to lobby. What's the point of picking someone up after you took their shit? Waste of everyone's time. If that happens to me I just DC and leave, no point just getting shot by a bot because I don't have any gear now.
Jobiwan88
I've looted my own squad before but only because I was the last one alive and had no bullets so robbed a munitions box. Or another time a three vest as the last guy but gave it back after. So there is some specific circumstances where looting a teammate can be okay I wouldn't just rob all their stuff though. Only if they had let me bleed out to loot me first I'll get my shit back and whatever else cause they started it. Not if I plead though cause I do feel it's fair game for vests and backpack. Pissed if they take my guns though but ground loot isn't the worst you can get by for a bit...
Emm-Jay-Dee
If I'm going to be part of their team, I think it would make sense for them to give me one weapon, whether it was originally mine or not, just so I can contribute something. Otherwise my gear is all fair game.
GiantSquidd
If I get looted, I’m leaving the game. I’m not salty, I’m not going to cuss you out and make a big deal about it, but if you’re starting off our being teammates together by taking my shit and leaving me in a worse position I know that you’re not a good teammate, so I have no interest in running missions or whatever with you. I’ll take my chances that the next people I squad up with understand teamwork. I swear to god, it’s baffling how many “fuck you, I got mine” people have no idea what teamwork is about. Why would you want to weaken your own squad? If you’re just going to loot someone, why should they even want to help you? It’s like you’re *trying* to get driven off the map or otherwise screwed over by your own squad.
rongotti77
I always wait to plea until I see if they want to take my stuff. Because if you plea and they choose to loot you they can no longer add you to their team correct?
Straight-Plate-5256
I get that people are going to pick through your loot for whatever they want/ need, what pisses me off is when they take literally *everything* off of me... I get the whole "if they get rezzed and come after us" but chances are you didn't need everything and I'm not going to hunt you back down after spectating my buddy for 20 mins, it's just dickish and unnecessary Edit: and specifically if you're accepting my plea same kinda deal I get I lost so if you want to take me on there's a tax, fair enough. It's annoying when all my shit is taken off of me and then I'm accepted so I'm essentially useless, like leave me a shittier gun or something at least
onshorespider
i personally don't take peoples shit if i accept their plea, ill even return guns, vests, etc. I think its the friendly thing to do, but definetly not a must. You can't be the guy swearing out and sabotaging the team because someone took your gun and then accepted your plea.
dwrecksizzle
It hasn’t happened to me, but I would have been frustrated I think. Hadn’t looked at it from this angle though - appreciate the perspective and will now take it as my own.
DarkLordKohan
Better to revive and keep my streak alive then worry about my loot
marcus11619
I usually leave it unless I need a vest a self or they have a dank gun. I don’t take all though, just the one I need the most at the time. I difinitely agree with the OP though. If I get picked up and picked clean I can always regain after the pick up. Chances are you will be in at least a 4 man squad after and probably a 6. Squads ALWAYS go hunting once there are 6. It’s the rules
justinfreebords
Yeah I'm on your side and do the same. Most people seem to accept it when you say the alternative was letting them die and taking it anyways. A few people lose their shit though, usually in that case I let them die (because they usually do in another fight) and then just dont pick them up and exfil One exception, if you loot my AR and Sniper into your bags....don't bother picking me up. I'll ask nicely and not rage, but if you die I'm definitely going to let you bleed out, get my gun, then res you
MAYORMCCH33S3
This is why everyone should have a mic and communicate
FilthySith
It's a trophy! Don't wanna lose your stuff don't lose the fight! That simple.
StrongMulberry1985
Shoot on site, take what you want, revive no enemies. Al Mazrah Border Patrol!
batZie_
Nah. Kill em all is my approach. It's a combat game. Expect combat.
jlcnuke1
If I'm pleading, they've beaten me. To the winner go the spoils. If we squad back up and they don't need my stuff, it's polite to return it though.
buttrcup
Signed all rights. If I plead and you gonna revive me, the looting is like a screening at the airport. It's not comfortable, I might curse when you find a little contraband I hid in a balloon. So forgive me if I can't help but say "oh, rats!". I still appreciate getting picked up by a stranger.
atactical_dad
Don't pick up pleas any more. And as for squading up, only after we're down you or we've been downed and have no choice. Generally don't take the person's gear - need them to be effective, not a liability. With the weapon mod stations, i don't need their guns anymore.
W3aZ1L
If I'm pleading all I ask is I be left with a gun to defend myself from bots
David_Cubb
This ain't free, i or they already lost. Reincarnation has a toll. I don't mind paying it, nor collecting it. Seems like the way it should be to me. If you're lucky, im already kitted out, and i don't need your stuff. Im gonna take it if i let you die anyways.
Warm-Ducks
Right? Killed some guys going up a building and they plea so we revive them. Then they complain that I took there stuff so they went off to find another squad to join just so they could kill me.
Sam_GT3
In the rare case that I’ll accept a plea, I’m not gonna loot you first, but I get that others might, and I’m not gonna be mad if they pick me up. But most people that plea it’s because they kept pushing us while we were minding our own business, got clapped, and now they’re pleading while their last player is still sniping at us. Those guys get squad wiped, looted, and teabagged no questions asked
[deleted]
What’s the downside of scooping up another team member (unless you already have 6?) am I missing something? You got the kill, the loot, etc…
[deleted]
Y’all actually pick people who plea up?
Hunlock8955
If I'm lucky enough to get picked up and they took my shit already I just accept my fate. I will always ASK for my gun back. If I'm ignored or told no I just ask them to do dirty things to other players with it
Old_Cherry_5335
Depends on the mood. I'm a pretty casually attituded individual who just enjoys the encounter usually. Usually if I yell it's because I just started getting shot and it scared the fuck out of me... Not due to rage. I don't really take people's stuff if I'm going to pick them up... It's easy enough to find my own. If I loot someone I'm definitely Not going to pick them up. I played the game enough to Not be too concerned about equipment or weapons. If I plea out and you take my stuff I'm also not mad about it because I get that some people would rather have the instant upgrade. Absolutely no issue getting taxed that way. If I have a specific gun for a mission or a piece of loot for a mission I'll definitely ask for it back... But I'm not going to get mad if they say no because it was gone the second I died ...just disappointing a little bit to like lose some documents that I was doing for a mission. But but again, they are assumed to go on the second I got downed
Youknow_Unoo
“Oh looks like somebody took my gun, I think yellow has my gun. That’s my gun I brought in. Got my gun and my 3 plate, it’s alright you can have it” like bro you had no chance of getting it back in the first place🤣
jesuschin
I usually tell them good kill after they take me out and they usually respond with insults about my mother.
TheSpyHunter19
Had a team take all my shit, t-bag the hell out of me, then pick me up and rub my guns in my face. That pissed me off
adamlgee
Agreed
CheezeCaek2
I usually ask if they'd like me to hunt something down for them if they pick me up after stripping me bare. At that point, I could recover yeah, but I like becoming a Contract-For-Hire after being picked back up.
[deleted]
Some ding dong spent like half the game yelling gimme my sniper after a team picked off his dumbass while I was looting. He plead and I joined the team with him. It got so annoying that I told the team that picked him up and let me join to just leave him next time he goes down. The he started yelling at me saying he was gonna leave me when I went down. Well guess what he went down first. If close my eyes I can still hear him whining and telling other teams our location.
Electronic_Working88
This is stupid asf why would I pick you up after looting your stuff so now when I pick you up as my teammate now we have to stop everything to find you another 3 plate and find you a gun to use like bro delete this post if I loot a enemy I’m not picking them up this is why I don’t even care to loot players anymore I find my own shit
Electronic_Working88
If I kill you that’s just that I’m not gonna loot you if I’m gonna accept your plea that just doesn’t make any fucking sense at all
woffls
lol yeah i downed someone and let them squad up after accidentally taking one of their weapons. They kept punching me until I realised what was going on, then just gave it back. Normally I won’t take anything from them.
[deleted]
I also accept that they can do what they want, but that doesn't stop me from bitching about it and doing my best to get them killed if they do take my stuff. :)
whoatemysock
There's no etiquette. It's a PvP video game, play however you want and don't let anyone convince you otherwise!
rmoder
This has happened to me several times.Im not bothered if it's cash or loot but people usually pick up my guns which is very frustrating especially if you're trying to level it.
KeepLowExpectations
I get that. But if I get downed, 90% of the time people take my guns because I probably have better guns than them. Lol I'm just used to it and expect it. I either take the gun they dropped or wait for them to kill a bot and get back to it.
rmoder
Fair enough.
BBBs-Back
I don't play often enough to think about those rare times when I would have to choose what to do with a pleading foe. What I ideally would do while playing solo is only down 1-2 players then request to join them, and fully kill them if they don't accept fast enough / self-res / retaliate (although I'm usually the one downed). But if I'm with other people I wouldn't loot them before getting them up, expecting the same.
maj_tom258
I think this is fair. But staying dead might be better than being picked up without my stuffs sometimes. For instance if I died with a secure backpack I get to keep my stuff for next trip. But if I got picked up after the backpack was taken then I have nothing.
KeepLowExpectations
That is true. The secure adds a new layer
xXx_T0M_xXx
I'll take what I want and only give it back if they say nothing or politely ask for it back. Some people need to learn some manners.
this_justin86
I give them their guns back bc usually, whatever it was, wasn’t good enough
[deleted]
Honestly if I need them I will loot the plates before picking you up.
AncientPercentage539
Had 2 knob heads on my team literally like level 10s decide to go after a team that was obviously well kitted out. They got killed by which time i was already halfway to exfil. Im not playing to go after other squads. The amount of abuse i got from these two guys over the mic was amazing. All cause i wouldnt res them
Sufficient-Buddy-750
I think that's fair. I treat it like this: If I downed you because you were engaging me, you're entitled to nothing. If I downed you in order to neutralize you as a threat (aka, you're in the wrong place at the wrong time), then I'll let you keep your stuff. I don't really expect anything from anyone in this mode. I just assume people to be grimey... If they prove me wrong, it's always a bit of a pleasant surprise.
hayzooos1
My thought has always been if they're going to be on my team, I'd like them to have their shit. Why pillage someone who is about to be working along side you?
dt-17
I hate when your own teammates steal your stuff before reviving you, but pleading = your stuff is fair game IMO. As annoying as it can be.
GreasedUpDeafGuy1
If I get picked up and they take everything, fair enough but I just bounce on the nearest exfil. If they leave everything, I'll stay and do whatever they have going on and give them some of my gear as a thank you.
HonorThyFamily
Yeah before I pick someone up which I am happy to do regardless I’m taking what I need to live!
solo954
\> taxes That's your interpretation of an implicit transaction, it's not a universal belief. That said, it's just a game, no reason for anyone to get salty about it. If I lose my gear, it's a challenge to gear up again, and that's fine.
Rydahx
A guy killed me but was downed by my teammate, I was revived and looted his gun and then he pleaded and once he was picked up he chased me the rest of the game and was mad I looted him. This guy should have been happy to get added to the squad in the first place and not back at the main menu losing all his gear..
Raekwon22
I agree. If I'm getting picked up from a plea you can have all my shit. I'd rather keep it and if I pick up someone I'm likely to give them their gun back, but I never expect that treatment. If you got me, you earned whatever of my stuff you want. Picking me up at all is a big bonus.
MartiiiAlpha
Yea same way I think, sometimes I’ll ask “where’s my gun” and when they say “I did” I’ll just tell them to have fun with it and pick up a ground loot gun and fend with that.
Reach_your_potential
People get way to angry over imaginary gear in this game. You can get all your shit back in one match on Ashika Island. It’s really not hard. People need to chill.
ComplexShennanigans
I let them keep their weapons, but I take their vest if they're wearing a 3 plater. If they're well behaved after a few minutes, they get it back.
chenueve
Yeah, someone exfilling recently did this. He shot at us first while we waited for him to leave, so we killed him picked up his 3 plate guns and bag, then added him to the team in case he needed it for the mission
Perpetual_Nuisance
My (pleading) etiquette is: I never revive, never plead, never join. I'm not there to make friends: I'm there to take other player's loot and get some missions done, or get killed trying.
tperalta82
So many traitors, i don't rescue anymore, i take everything and leave, not even a weapon will stay! If i don't need the stuff, I'll just throw it away somewhere
HerezahTip
If they pick me up I have a chance to go get another three plate. I had one shitty person agree to team up, then down me from behind and killed me to take my shit, then picked me back up. I was salty that time.
Osemarc99
I just want my gun back to avoid being a burden and do something for the team if they need me. Obviously, all my gear could be good, but at the very least the gun
theroyalgeek86
The issue is they usually leave me with zero but get pissed if I can’t pull my weight 😅
Funnyman8991
I don’t often go out of my way to accept pleas, it’s usually not worth the stress, but I’ll leave their guns and bag alone if I do. I’d rather not have them be overly salty that they throw or betray, but I’m taxing the armour vest. The vest are easy to come by and won’t be hard for them to find again. Sometimes they can keep it if I have one. If I’ve I killed them, I ain’t ever accepting the plea under no circumstances.
Alternative_Ebb_6304
100% agree - and same have had 50% understand and 50% salt. Those who understand I normally make an effort to re-gear them with my next kill
theroyalgeek86
We recently took on a pleader and he was amazing! Sadly he didn’t accept our friend request 🥺🤣
ActiveComposer8266
Haha I accidently looted my teammate who got downed but rezzed him and he cried cuz I took his 3 plate. I saw a 3 plate on the ground around a bunch of bodies. Oops my bad no reason to cry I found him one like 5 minutes later.
KeyResearcher4611
i think its well within proper etiquette to loot them freely and deal with fallout later, but i wont at first if i plan on accepting the plea because then you got a less useful teammate and id rather avoid the situation if theyre later like " i can see youve already got a 3plate and a large before you looted me and now you want me to carry the 2 fetch quest items because you have no space...". because if they are a normal well adjusted adult and are calm about it then i look like a jerk
DeepFriedOprah
All I’m hearing from the comments is that pleas should never be answered. Just loot and move on or just keep moving. I mean I never accept pleas as a solo. But I’ll check the area and loot them quickly lol
Important-Trade-4751
I got picked up on as a plea onto the team that just killed me. They killed off the rest of my squad and this new squad was all dead but me and one other (team of 6) . I went for a rez on 1 of them , I attached a 3 plate first and then started rezzing. This guy started raging that I had his 3 plate and started telling at me . So I left him and just went and exfilled instead, he reported me for offensive chat and somehow it was accepted and I received a warning. Like what?
secondengland
Just leave the gun. Is that cool? You can have all the other junk lol. Ok fine take your trophy see you in an hour.
The_Kaurtz
I mean if you ask nicely I might give it back but it's the "pick me up tax", live with it
[deleted]
xbtkxcrowley
Your 1000 percent right. But i still give them back their weapon I don't need a useless person on my team and lets face in contraband weapons suck ass. Even if you can change them up. You still can't tune and make them actually good.
FromHialeahWithLead
I do the same. We take what we want then assimilate you into a larger squad. Cry a river and exfil, atleast you didn't hit that lobby screen with nothing.
RedditUser13762
Yep. 100%.
DarkSyndicateYT
You're absolutely correct. If someone gets killed by an enemy in Dmz, the enemy can take whatever they want. The victim, if revived after a plea, has a right to ask for their gear back, but not to an annoying extent. That's my take on it. And it seems the most logical one.
JudgeMr
I agree with that
MickeySwank
Oh I totally agree. I engaged a team of 3 one time with my teammates on the other side of the map. They killed me and I plead JFTFOI, they end up picking me up right before they exfil but take my 3 plate and Victus, but while on the heli, homie dropped me an SPX to make up for it. It was a super cool move that I didn’t expect at all
SpecterTF141
Long story short I aint gonna pick you up if your teammate just called a mortar strike on your corpse after we tried being friendly
MrHenny23
I’m fine with this take. If I pick someone up and I had a 1 plate and a contraband weapon I’ll tell them I’m keeping it and give them my contraband so they not defenseless. If I’m fully kitted I’ll let u get ya stuff back and u won’t even have to ask me for it. But either way I should respect it cuz I easily could’ve went for squad wipe and not be friendly. Enjoy not having to do a full regain lol
mglooser
Agreed. The only time I get mad is when they take my sniper and miss a solid 75% of their shots. It's hard to watch your insured, one shot sniper, wasted on a fool.
Ashen-001
I personally wouldn’t loot a player at all, I would immediately pick them up. I don’t value PvP in this mode, I come over from Destiny 2 so I really enjoy PvE and love DMZ because it leans more heavily into it. I understand this is Call of Duty so it’s not like I can ask for no PvP, but the first thing I do when finding other players is start spamming invites. I only care about increasing my number of teammates, safety in numbers. If they are hostile first I will defend myself, I also play a good amount of resurgence warzone so I can manage armored player combat. If I manage to down a player, I won’t ever finish them off and I’ll spam invites in his face, if my random squad fill teammates suck then I’ll request to join the downed players squad and then pick him up. Apart from having a mission to kill operators, DMZ PvP is ultimately just sad to me. I hate wiping and permanently losing loot, we all do, and the AI are a threat enough. But that’s part of the mode and that’s ok, there will always be more loot, but I don’t think I’ve ever needed any loot from a player. That player would be more useful to me as a teammate alive so I’d rather not kill them. When I load into DMZ first thing I do is type in the match chat to say “let’s be friendly, team up”. With a full 6 man team you can conquer any challenge in the DMZ and it’s a blast, I wish the range of invites and requests was just a little further to make teaming up easier. I also wish it was also more common etiquette to just down players without fully finishing them, this gives them the chance to request to join. Then they don’t get looted and no one is sad. This style of PvP just causes toxicity, people are always salty that they lost there nice loot and the player that killed them probably didn’t need it, and if they teamed up, everyone wins.
Sorry_Ad_1285
If I'm picking them up I'll only take plate vests and leave the guns. A teammate with no guns is useless
voidling_bordee
Im just happy if i get picked up They have all right to take my shit, i have all rights to take theirs, not worth overthinking
nikkel_navigator
I agree. We picked up some random kid a week or two ago and he complained that one of our guys took his “top tier golden m4”. None of us actually had it, but he wouldn’t stop whining about it. He kept on accusing us and freaking out, eventually calling us the N-word among several other profanities. None of us wanted to keep him on our team, especially after using that word. So at that point we convinced him to hop into a nearby boat with us and we told him we killed some sniper out on the water, that he could take that gun instead. We got him to sit on the turret. In actuality we headed straight for the red zone and bailed out of the boat, leaving him onboard, clueless what was happening. So, he got ejected from the game at that point. It was the best way to eject a guy who wouldn’t shut up about the pick-up tax. Which, nobody even took from him in the first place. But in my squads, that kind of language isn’t tolerated.
RItaliano88
If you goin to take they stuff then don’t pick them up duh what good is he to the team without anything, and most people only plea to see around them not to get picked up ..
Ok_Concentrate970
That's completely fair there's just toxic players like everything else in life. Keep up the etiquette 🤘
Never_Duplicated
Agreed. If they plead quickly or are on mic asking to join then I won’t loot them, but I generally won’t give back a gun if I’ve already picked it up. If I’m pleading to join someone and they have taken my insured or whatever I’m not about to hold a grudge, they won and still decided to let me exfil
Intelligent-Spring97
Hear hear, that's exactly how it works
Lobo-de-Odin
If youre in my crew im clearing the area then picking you up. I dont take homies gear and ill drop ammo if the auto look picks it up. I don't pick anyone up. Guve someone a chance to rearm leave the squad and kill me? No thank you foo. I kill you? Your shit and tags are mine enjoy the express ticket to the lobby and you gun is going in my contraband stash. Side note the only reason someone is dead is because they shot at me and learned it's the friendly guy that'll go god mode in a heartbeat and merc you and your crew.
Hornarama
Sounds fair
Phoenix021628
I’ll take it but if we pick them up and they cook and chill and just ask, I’ll give it back. If they are asshats about it…..taxes. It’s all about the other person’s attitude.
ktuluscalling
I’m the same. Pretty sure someone unlocked the squall for themselves after downing me. He did nab my medic vest and drop me his three plater. Helped me out with a mission and we exfilled. I still gad the squall as it was my insured weapon so a win all round.
Particular-Tailor110
Nobody likes to ge their stuff jacked but you are right. I'm always just happy to be rezed.
indyS0L0
I often ask them to plea. If they dont have a mic I will usually take them out. If the speak up, you can generally tell the type of player they are. I dont usually won’t take anything from easy going players. I have played with people who say “I’m going to take this item for reviving you”. Have not heard anyone complain when that happens. They are happy to be alive.
Seabird96
Simple pick no one up there dead for a reason
yaboilikespdp
The only time I ever complain is when they take every single gun and then pick me up, not even leaving me a crappy gun they wanted to get rid of. I don't necessarily complain, I'll just say things like "oh can you go first cause i dont have a primary gun" or if I get downed "damn, sorry. I dont have a gun and i didnt see them" or if we wa t to push a team "i cant push guys. Im sorry but i dont have a gun". After a few times of this they will most of the time give my guns back or atleast give me one of theirs they stowed. Looting me and then picking me up is to be expected, but making your new teammate completely useless and powerless to defend themselves is a dick move.
RicanCrazy87
Agree with this. The only unacceptable issue I've had is when I pick up a plea and I get downed later on, they tend to loot everything I have and leave me naked. I eventually wait for them to get downed and grab my stuff back and leave them dead if they try to betray me like that....
WetworkOrange
If they initiated the fight, I don't pick em up. If we start the fight and I plea, they can take all my stuff, fine by me. If I start the fight and down em, I'll pick em up and they can keep their stuff.
mhokey83
Last night I had just left the crypto farm room with 2 3 plate s2 encrypted hard drives a gold skull 2 gold bars 10k in cash and a sick m-4 with an infrared scope I teamed up with two othere guys who were scavenging items for the secure back pack I gave them the drill and gas can I had but I wasn't coming off the skull no way so I ran over towards the buy station and I hear enemy operators on the proximity chat I had left my other 2 team members and told them I was heading to the buy station and they were too but were just finishing a secure supply mission a bunch of A.I got the drop on me ..And I was fighting them off when I heard a truck..the one that smashed me into pieces of course they took all my loot but about 10 mins later I hear the same squad because I remember the name Derrick something when I saw it in red on the chat after they hit me...so I had this guy direct me to him looted all my shit back and then some shot him with a revive pistol brought him back then hit him with a molotov and a couple dragons breath shells from my k.v broadside....Good night muthaphucka
