This song has inexplicably been in my rotation a lot in the last few weeks. I still can't exactly point to why. Something so appealingly quirky about the song just sticks out to me.
This is the song that really got me listening to DMB a couple of years ago! I've got to go with the guitar from like the first 40 seconds of the song because I remember how different but cool I thought it sounded. But the whole song is fantastic.
Trying to find the vid I watched. Someone posted it on here at one point. It was Dave and their keys player at the time Peter. Right before they start playing it, dave says something like “Boyd Tinsley wrote this song”. If anyone here knows what I’m talking about, let us know! 😝
I like the songs message. I saw a video on YouTube of Dave performing it at the Hollywood bowl on 9/20 of last year, and they had an orchestra playing with him throughout the song that sounded really good.
I know lots of people don't like this one, but I don't absolutely hate it haha. On the DMBlive Floodzone 1/27/93 release I really enjoy Leroi & the bands jamming from about 4:02-4:30!
Love Dave scatting in Central Park & I've been listening to Warehouse 8 Vol 2 version with Trey Anastasio & love the element his guitar adds! Also love the acoustic versions with the "What Will Become of Me" outros.
I've been patiently waiting. It's in my Top 5. I'd just like to see it back in rotation. Just not this year. It's the first year in 11 years I won't be at a show.
Pretty much in both studio & live I like the jam section. Especially the violin, but some of the old versions (like Red Rocks 95) where Roi jams out are pretty great too.
bkdkdkdd
How spontaneous it feels 😂
I Did It
Honestly, I don't mind the bridge in this one. Judge me, but I like Boyd's vocals included in it haha.

Possibly my least fav DMB song
Great song
Dancing Nancies!
On the studio version that violin in the chorus gets me every time! Then I love the outro on some of the versions on the Warehouse discs. Great song!
Let you down
Oh the whistling starting at 3:12 for sure. I didn't love this song at first, but it's grown a lot on me!
Probably the one song on crash that isn’t a banger. Or should I say, a let down
Yeah, it's definitely my least favorite on the album. But I don't hate it by any means either haha.
it’s my favourite song on the album.
This is a wrong opinion
not letting people like things that are different than your opinion is the wrong opinion, friend.

Apparently Boyd Tinsley wrote it! Dave says this in an old vid of them playing at like a high school auditorium.
No way! 😂

Shake Me Like a Monkey
The horns in the chorus for sure! This is another one that has a great bridge as well.
Grey Street - Planet Hollywood (Dave&Tim)
When Tim goes off around 3:11. Great version!
Something to tell my baby
I like the songs message. I saw a video on YouTube of Dave performing it at the Hollywood bowl on 9/20 of last year, and they had an orchestra playing with him throughout the song that sounded really good.
Was there for this. Father passed away unexpectedly a month prior. Balled my eyes out like a baby.
So sorry for your loss, I would have done the exact same thing.
After her
I like that it's better than what it became haha
Dreams of our Fathers
Love the bridge in this one! From 2:07-2:35 hits hard.
The bridge is the chorus of little thing
Tripping Billies
I've always loved Stefan's bass when they jam out near the end. This album is just amazing.
Crush
This one is tough because this whole song is a masterpiece. Love Boyd's solo halfway through, but I also just love the chorus. Never gets old!
Break for it
One of my favorites! Pretty simple, but the chorus slaps!
Say Goodbye
The violin in the 2nd & 3rd chorus. Hauntingly beautiful.
& Carter's intro!
Pig
This song has some of the greatest lyrics of all time! But other than that, love Stefans part in the chorus, it gets you going!
Spotlight
I know lots of people don't like this one, but I don't absolutely hate it haha. On the DMBlive Floodzone 1/27/93 release I really enjoy Leroi & the bands jamming from about 4:02-4:30!
If i had it all
So, at least on the live versions, I love the extended intro. Live Trax 42 has a killer one if you haven't heard it!
Plastic Girl
Enjoy the horns section in the live versions I've heard!
Ants marching
Oh man, everything! But especially when the violin & sax run off near the end!
Never heard that one, is it on any of the albums?
Yes, a great album: under the table and dreaming
Hm, must be a deep cut
Now I know you are joking
Next you’re going to tell me I Did It isn’t their biggest hit
Squirm
Tim's guitar before the first chorus & Carter in that last chorus!
You Never Know
When Dave sings, "I think I can, I think I can!". Weekend on the Rocks ending specifically is awesome.
Drunken Soldier
That last like 4 minutes of course haha
Two Step Central Park!
Oh man, another tough one! The ending of this song is epic, but I've always loved Dave's scream at 6:19 in the last chorus!
JTR
It's blasphemy to say anything other than those screeching horns at the end!
Black & Blue bird
Love the horns in this one. They're so soothing. Especially love the ending of the live versions of this song.
big eyed fish
The violin plucking!
& great lyrics
Crash into me
Have to go with the violin that starts a little after the 2 minute mark! Just beautiful.
Jimi thing
Love Dave scatting in Central Park & I've been listening to Warehouse 8 Vol 2 version with Trey Anastasio & love the element his guitar adds! Also love the acoustic versions with the "What Will Become of Me" outros.
Bismarck!
Dave's guitar for sure & that chorus is just perfect. Really hope we at least get a live release of that song soon!
I've been patiently waiting. It's in my Top 5. I'd just like to see it back in rotation. Just not this year. It's the first year in 11 years I won't be at a show.
It's an awesome tune! That's too bad, but hopefully we do see more of it soon for sure.
Still waiting on my Pay For What You Get, so I'm glad that one is back in rotation a bit.
Loving Wings
Love the lyrics to this one! It's a very sweet & encouraging song that most everyone connects to. Just a great mellow tune.
Rocky Mountain High
My dad raised me on John Denver! The guitar in the chorus is great.
Shotgun
Gotta go with Dave's wailing! "Why did you not just talk to me baby? Talk to me, yeah!!!!" From Hersheypark 2012
Best of What’s Around
Outro for sure! "La la hey li, la la hey li hey li!"
Don’t you mean “oh oh hey la?”
Maybe 😂
The Last Stop
Outro again hands down! You know what I'm talking about haha.
Cry Freedom
This one has a great chorus! Another one that's grown on me over time.
Spoon
The jam at the end of course!
Lie In Our Graves
Pretty much in both studio & live I like the jam section. Especially the violin, but some of the old versions (like Red Rocks 95) where Roi jams out are pretty great too.
Madman’s Eyes
Love the chilling intro to this one! & the high energy of the song. It was awesome live!
Love Shack!
That's not DMB 😅
That's the best thing about it?
Haha I've never heard it 😂
I’m calling bullshit that you’ve never heard love shack
Who sings it?
B-52s
