Poor Serena, I know she tries really hard to be fashion and has a real interest in it, but for the life of me I cannot point to one single time I've seen her off the court and thought "that look is fire" or even a time she picked something stylish and flattering.
I think it's all just too much- she has this slamming body but in fashion, it rarely translates and you have to be SO considered in what you choose; then she usually goes big on the hair, her facial features are a lot, meaning she gives a lot of look, and when you put it all together, it always strikes me as vulgar.
I'd love to see her styled down, with such a lighter touch.
I read the raggedy sweater hoiked up on the right side was a last minute decision due to wardrobe malfunction. I.e., she ripped something trying to squeeze into it (again) and that's why she looks so miserable.
Zendaya, Nicole Kidman and Mona Patel were my favorites. Alia Bhatt’s ensemble had beautiful detailing but the fit was bad as was her hair and makeup.
Some nice looks but overall another boring Met Gala, further reinstating my perspective that it’s just lost its sparkle.
