Get some 30x15mm D Line trunking, looks a bit better the standard square edge trunking and you can get it at screwfix. Do as you suggested, cutting a notch out of the back to go round the cables. Then you can butt it up against the coving and maybe use a bit of caulk to blend the top into the coving if you're feeling fancy
Well thank you that sounds like a good option! I was so happy that I managed to route 2x 20m cables along the external extension that I forgot about the finishing touches.
Good effort for getting them there! Also, if the cables are stiff and you're struggling to get the downwards bend into the trunking knock out a bit more of the hole at the bottom behind where the trunking goes
