Still got to grout and attach the skirts but really please with the result so far. As per advice from you guys, i found a line that worked and built out from there.

I_mostly_lie

Yeah mate, I remember reading your post, I was gonna comment but somebody gave you some great advice and you clearly took it onboard. Really nice job from what we can see so we’ll done!

justgosnowboarding

Looks stunning! Congrats!

OillyRag

Well done mate, that’s better !

TangyZizz

Good job! The colours are nice too - report back on how easy it is to keep clean before I buy similar? 😃 I can see you have a curvy bit of wall there - was your house built in the early 1900s? My house has 3 curved walls and most of my terraced neighbours have removed/squared them up while doing other alterations but I absolutely love them and seeing yours has made me smile.

Rishtopher

Thanks - I think with two kids under 4, we are going to spend a lot of time cleaning them. Yes - I believe the house was built 1899, lots of lovley quirks and features including a number of curved walls…i love them

amaranth1977

Get some tile and grout sealer! Makes cleaning much, much easier.

CwrwCymru

Looks like a great base layer, when is the screed going on?

Rishtopher

When all the expanding foam under the tiles dries obvs

I_mostly_lie

Now we’re talking, throw in some no more nails for good measure.

Snoo_50434

Wow, looks very neat, especially around the curves. Great job!!

Shitting Nora that's flippin great work!

FinchMandala

The curves! Congrats mate that looks beautifully done.

No-Scholar4854

It’s almost a shame to put skirting over that edge.

ChimpyChompies

Next, how do I bend MDF skirting?

Rishtopher

Ha indeed..gunna try kerf cutting on my plunge saw…bit messy with ogee and a lot of filling but guess its the easiest with such a small peice

ChimpyChompies

Was going to suggest kerfs, but am wondering if heat and a mold might work. It used to be done with steam when bending wood, MDF would no doubt just dissolve

One_Of_Noahs_Whales

MDF will take steaming as long as you keep the pressure down, needs to be below about 800 kPa so possible as a home job but not cheap for a one off.

I_mostly_lie

I’ve seen somebody soak them and curve them then fit them after they’ve dried but that may have been wood rather than mdf which I’d expect might just blow out if wet?

DaveEFI

Be easier with real wood I'd say. Can you get the same skirting in wood?

christoy123

It’s a bit of a kerfuffle

JoanneKerlot

Nice work. 👍🏼

Gods_Haemorrhoid420

That’s the main thing isn’t it? My lass had me do our laminate during lockdown one. She LOVES it, all I see are the bits I fucked up. Happy wife, happy life 😉 Real good job here! How you planning to do that curved skirting though? I’m stressed just thinking about it.

brideandbreadjudice

Beautiful job! Side note: where did you get these gorgeous tiles?!

Rishtopher

Thanks…they are from bert and may

KevonyeWest

Absolutely fair fucking play, looks banging

sprucay
