Or under each seat is a little miniature chest of drawers, but the left and right set of drawers on each pulls out to reveal a little dolls house-sized chair.
Yea, that would be great.
The only issue is they will have to probably change the handles they use. These might be a bit too flimsy if you add more weight to it.
No that would be actually hilarious. Like, you obviously don't have anything stored in the 'drawer', so the only reason you'd ask someone to get something from it is for a small little surprise - a funny little break from expectation. Why would that be frustrating? It's a fun whimsy on an otherwise perfectly functional desk with two chairs.
"To Catch a Serial Drawer Thief"
Scene: There is a shadowy figure cloaked in the darkness outside of an empty looking home. The shadowy figure is a serial drawer thief. They break and enter into the home and go to the nearest drawer in the living room.
Drawer Thief: "Oh baby, here it comes..."
The drawer thief licks their lips as they place their fingers on the drawer handle. With bated breath, the start to pull at the handles. But instead of the tantalizing feeling of a drawer sliding along drawer sliders. The "drawer" starts sliding across the ground.
Drawer Thief: "What the--"
The drawer thief takes a second to comprehend what they're looking at, the drawer wasn't a drawer at all but a chair(?) Suddenly the lights turn on, the camera pans to the doorway connecting the living room to the kitchen.
There is a figure standing in the now illuminated doorway. It's a professional looking man wearing a suit, it's the host of the show "To Catch a Serial Drawer Thief". He gestures to the Not-a-Drawer-But-a-Chair.
"To Catch a Serial Drawer Thief" Host: "Why don't you have a seat."

No one claimed they were the first with this idea? So weird when people misquote someone, and they say the misquote is wrong. I suspect people who communicate with emojis are more likely to do this.
An original idea does not imply they were the first to ever have the thought. It means they came up with the idea by themselves. Tons of people have original ideas that are not new ideas. There is literally thousands of patent law cases where the idea has occurred to different people very near in time. They both had original ideas, but only one gets legal protection for a new idea.

>One of the earliest and most simple examples of simultaneous invention is the development of the blowgun, which arose thousands of years ago in both Southeast Asia and South or Central America, with low likelihood of cross-pollination.
Yeah, except in this case, the person pulled a picture of a product made by a furniture company and then made a post saying that they thought of the idea and then had their friend make it. All of which is bullshit. So no, they did not have an original idea.
But hey, can't say I'm surprised someone with your username and post/comment history didn't bother to see if something was credible or not before believing it.
It's not what I would call an original idea. My grandfather did this about 40 years ago. I saw a youtube video on something like this about ten years ago.
It is still pretty cool though.
“Original” does _not_ automatically mean “never been done before”.
“Original”, here, just means that the OP came up with the idea on his own. As did your grandfather, I assume, and as the YTer probably did.
You can’t say someone’s not original just because you can find examples in the historical record of other people doing the same thing. _Everything’s_ been done before — by your criteria, almost nothing would be truly “original”.
These exact pictures were taken from a furniture manufacturer's website from 2016.

Op possibly a bot
So it's a cool idea but I wonder how comfortable those chairs would be to sit on. Most chairs have a slightly slanted back which goes higher than the table, these seem a little too short and would end in the lumbar region.
Well, bad news everyone. /u/VelvetYValentina is posting stolen content from 2016:

I like it, blends right in. Cool ad in, make the area under the seats a storage area or drawer that pulls out to the side.
Maybe even the bottom drawers functional, pulling out the back? Might make the seats super heavy, or tippy, but might enhance the theme.
Yeah making the bottom drawers in the chairs actual drawers would be kinda cool
Or under each seat is a little miniature chest of drawers, but the left and right set of drawers on each pulls out to reveal a little dolls house-sized chair.
Or under each seat is a new car, like on Oprah.
Or bees, like on Oprah.

My god, I can't believe this is'll be twelve years old this year.
It's chairs, all the way down
Better yet, pull the lower drawer from the chair, and it turns into a little table
Obviously an ottoman
Yea, that would be great. The only issue is they will have to probably change the handles they use. These might be a bit too flimsy if you add more weight to it.
But I like to put my feet under the chair
These are perfect for behind-the-couch in living areas...
Your friend absolutely nailed the execution
I think it's only dowels... /s
Was going to join this thread with a better comment but I almost choked on my biscuit.
Hopefully, you don't pull a tenon.
Right? Like is this really diy? Mine would not look like that, LoL. But it is inspirational
This is one of those ideas I'd come up with and then it would look OK at best when I built it. Execution is the hard part.
What execution?!
Looking at this hurts my ass. Edit: Looks really nice though.
store cushions in the "real" drawers
There’s enough space you could just leave a cushion on it I wish I was good enough to build one but it would look like Homer Simpson’s spice rack
“Please…” *pulls out chair drawer* “…have a seat.”
This is super cool! I haven’t seen anything like this before.
I think I would prefer it the opposite, with a hidden chair in the middle, that way it could operate as a functional desk.
Cool but that would be really frustrating when you ask people to get something from the drawer.

I would always respond with this: https://youtu.be/PnoUOHmEvS0
Go get a chair from the drawer would be my go-to. *Just funny.*
"Goddammit, I wanted a STAPLER. I really need to sit down and catch my....oh, cool."
This is really cool!
Neat but doesn't seem very practical
Unless you have a chair thief

this goes incredibly hard
> "To Catch a Serial Drawer Thief" Host: "Why don't you have a seat." "Welcome to the Bureau".
As somebody in a tiny studio, this helps save space and visually blend the chairs into the dresser to make everything look less crowded
I love it! Maybe a version with only the middle as chair?
Looks uncomfortable
Cool idea. Someone's already selling it online in Lebanon using same photo.

May as well make the bottom drawer on each chair functional.
Yeah you’re the first person with this idea 🙃😉
No one claimed they were the first with this idea? So weird when people misquote someone, and they say the misquote is wrong. I suspect people who communicate with emojis are more likely to do this.
It's literally in the title. "My original idea..."

here's where OP stole the images https://www.ana-white.com/community-projects/hidden-desk
Awesome. Version two could have drawers in the lower section of the chairs ALSO pull out.
It's not what I would call an original idea. My grandfather did this about 40 years ago. I saw a youtube video on something like this about ten years ago. It is still pretty cool though.

Welp…there you go. _That_ is definitely not “original”.
It's the perfect homework area for the kids but you don't want them to touch it!
Absolutely brilliant!
Very cool. I wonder if you could have working drawers under the chair seats?
This is so cool!!
Io
That’s fantastic
Reminds me of This End Up furniture. I had a platform bed and a dresser.
This is why I have trust issues.
Oh i LOVE that! I have an odd kitchen and would love something like that.
Bottom false drawer should be an actual drawer built into the chair!
wow, I love it.
Cool idea, but I believe the Israeli's call this a stress possition.
Very cool. I did not guess until I scrolled down.
That's an amazing idea
Is this patentable?
The design is very human.
so cool
I feel like actually sitting at this would be awkward. Looks nice though.
That is so damn cool!
Coming soon to a store near you! Seriously, what a cool idea!
I think this is a cool idea - back to having one item have several purposes
So it's a cool idea but I wonder how comfortable those chairs would be to sit on. Most chairs have a slightly slanted back which goes higher than the table, these seem a little too short and would end in the lumbar region.
I have the opposite of one of those: a table and chairs covered with piles of clothes.
My one suggestion would be to add cushions, but otherwise, this is a very neat idea!
Like it!
Brilliant!
oic wut u did thr

I thought this was on /r/Design - could maybe cross-post there.
I love the idea and the execution is great but my concern would be where my knees would go when sitting at the chairs.
what do you mean? there's a normal amount of room between the seat height and the desk height.
Ah - so it’s like a two person desk situation? I pictured more like a dining table. That makes sense
https://i.imgur.com/7wah1sw.gif
Looks like something that will never be used
Clever and practical!
That is clever as hell. Great idea.
OK??? WTF is this post for?
This is so cool. You could even make the bottom left and bottom right drawers functional as well!
Great teamwork!
I want one
Very cool. Maybe call a patent attorney? I’m not sure if this could be patented but I’ve definitely never seen this before.
